I finally received the JBL 800's on Monday and have been using them for the last 4 days now. There are a lot of positives about these headphones, just not sure they're worth $200 compared to what's out there for the same price. You will have to judge for yourself. First off, after fully charging them and using them with the RGB active, the battery life lasted about 10.5 hours. The headset promises 14 without the lights on. I tried charging them as I was using them but to my surprise they have to be plugged in while not in use to charge, which is kind of a bummer. Let's talk about the quality. Upon opening, the first thing I look for is comfort not only on the ears, but also around my big head. They didn't feel to heavy and the cups on the ears seemed comfortable. It had plenty of room to fit nicely on my head which was a nice start. After plugging in the wireless usb adaptor it prompted me to download there driver. There are a decent amount of settings to control the sound and RGB. Truthfully it looked like they didn't spend a lot of time prettying up the driver to match the quality of there headset, but it's more about functionality than the way it looks. I immediately tested it with a few tunes on Spotify and the Quantum Sound with noise cancelation was impressive. Now to the true test of gaming. I first tested it on my PC playing PUBG and COD MW. Sounded great , had a little trouble with the chat volume, but figured it out. I then tested it on my playstation 4. The sound without chat was great until i plugged the headset into the controller and the sound level dropped at least 25%. This was a little frustrating, but could be fixed by adjusting the volume within the game settings. Overall they seemed comfortable and sounded great, but if I had to compare them to my RIG 800's, I'm going the RIG's all the way. Although I really like all the RGB and this headset completing my color world of gaming, what I really need is something that fits my gaming style or better yet, my use of the item. Pros: Bluetooth Wireless, Comfortable even for bigger heads, Great Quantum Sound, RGB. . So versatility, comfort, sound and color. Cons: Chat mode issues with volume control, 14 hour battery life, (Rig 800's is 24), Cannot charge while gaming.

This is a light and comfortable headset with 2.4Ghz and Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. The headset has many features that make gaming or conversations a breeze - such as a boom microphone that mutes itself when you flip it up. Full customizable RGB LED accents to make you look cool while gaming, but can be shut off as well to conserve battery. Battery life is rated at 14 hours, but my testing showed a more conservative 12 hour average between charges. The left earcup has all the controls - and just using your finger to adjust the controls may be difficult to identify the right button. More space between the buttons or perhaps different textures would have made this easier. The sound of the headset is great! Awesome bass sounds and full midlevel sounds - makes this a fantastic headset for today's games. It definitely provides a great in-game experience and being wireless will help you immerse in your game play even more!

The JBL Quantum 800 RGB Wireless DTS Heaphones X v2.0 Gaming Headset is a step up for headphones through connectivity and sound. The JBL Quantum 800 headphones are on the heavy side but fit very comfortably and painlessly on your head. A long 14 hour wireless battery life only needs 2 hrs of charge time. Downloadable software allows you to choose from a variety of specs to make the experience all your own. I found that the JBL Quantum 800 headphones are one of the best I have ever tried. [I do my gaming on a gaming PC with many games from STEAM. The main game I used for these JBL Quantum Headphones was Serious Sam 3 BFE. It is a great game to play and for testing headphones because enemies attack you from all angles. Noises throughout the game seem to come out of nowhere. The game music tracks are slow wandering and fast in action situations.] • I really liked the fit of the headphones which provide a strong, sturdy and solid feel (only 14.4 ounces). The Left and Right (easily labeled) cups are over the ears are foam wrapped in leather. Once on you get them comfortably on, the JBL Quantum 800 stay put. They are also great at keeping outside noises to a minimum along with the Active Noise Canceling. I was in a total environment with the game sounds and really enjoyed this aspect of the JBL Quantum 800. • A 2hr charge kept me set for 14 hrs of game play (without RGB lights). USB A to USB C cord charging means that the JBL Quantum 800 will charge fast. Plug in the USB C into the bottom of the Left ear cup and the other end of the cord to a USB Type A plug-in. This is so nice to be able to charge After wearing the headphones for a couple of hours of play, they were still very comfortable and I hardly noticed I had them on. I did take a break for my eyes and hooked up the JBL Quantum 800 headphones for charging. And when I was done with my break, I went back to gaming again with the headphones almost completely charged! • I went to the JBL headphones site and downloaded the software called the “JBL Quantum Engine”. Downloading was fast and easy. To use the software the JBL Quantum 800 Headphones need to be hooked up wirelessly to the CPU. The software, once opened, gave me a variety ways to make these headphones fit my experience. An EQ line helped me set the importance of frequencies when gaming. I was able to take charge of the headphones’ RGB lighting and most importantly, how I wanted to hear the game with optional DTS, QuantumSURROUND or Stereo 2 channel. The application makes it very simple to choose any of those technologies. You can also see and change the volume on the microphone boom. Lastly the latest version of software upgrades are also shown, so you know when its time to download new software. • In the software for the JBL Quantum headphones 3 choices are available: DTS, QuantumSURROUND and regular stereo. Initially what helps with the deciphering the sounds clearer, is to turn on the Active Noises Canceling when you put the headphones on. The button is located on the top left ear cup. DTS is like the stereo DTS on your home theater. The sounds from gaming are calculated around your head (headphones on) and represent where the action is coming from. I like the QuantumSURROUND best. To my ears, I can hear movement better around my head and can add a “channel ID 7.1” that makes sounds were the action is. It is really cool to hear and can help by giving you an advantage over headphones that do not have these options. The last choice is Stereo. Sounds come through the Left and Right ear cups and sound just fine. This would be my last choice. • There are many ways to connect the JBL Quantum headphones to your PC for gaming. There is a 3.5mm cord with volume control, a dongle that runs at 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.0. To really get the features, the wireless options are the best to use. Using the Right ear cup, push the switch up and hold down the Bluetooth button just below the power switch. Then I went to Bluetooth Settings on my CPU and look to locate a new device. This was extremely easy and set up was a breeze. The Dongle has a USB Type A male connector that needs to be plugged into a USB Type A port. Once plugged in press the top button on the Left ear cup. This linked Dongle and Headphones up. I thought this provided the best way to listen and use these headphones during gaming. The 3.5mm cord male to male can be plugged in the CPU and then the Headphones. This is great to conserve battery life and still get great sound. • The controls for most of use of the JBL Quantum 800 headphones are located on the Left ear cup. This is where you can change volume of the microphone and the volume of the game. They are comprised of 2 scroll wheels that work together to provide great chatting and still hear the game efficiently. If you want to mute the microphone boom, just lift it up. Once the stem is to the top of the ear cup, a red light appear on the boom meaning it is muted. Active Noise Canceling is a button located on the top of the Left ear cup. There is also a button that will mute the headphones just under the volume scroll wheel on the Left ear cup. The power on and Bluetooth sync are located on the Right ear cup. It is a pretty simplistic setup that is easy to catch on to. • The JBL Quantum 800 headphones worked great on my PC. To fully understand the how these headphones work with the XBOX and PS4 will take some doing. I tried to connect to an XBOX One S ineffectively. I would say the best thing to do is make sure it is compatible and will work with whatever system you have so you can get all the features and benefits from the JBL Quantum 800 headphones. Be thorough in checking what JBL Quantum 800 features works with what systems. (I am deducting 1 star in my review for difficulty connecting to other than PCs) • Lastly I just wanted to point out that these headphones are a winner in gaming with the features described above, but they also excel in music listening. The sound is well rounded and can be changed with the EQ in the software. The JBL Quantum headphones play just about any genre of music really well and I am very pleased with this added benefit. The JBL Quantum 800 headphones give you more customization and comfort than I expected. I really enjoy playing games (besides Serious Sam 3 BFE!) where headphones add extra dimensions/fun to game play. The JBL Quantum 800 headphones do just that: add an extra dose activity that makes the games more fun to play.

Great Sound, Design & Interface need to be better

First thing first, these headphones have great sound that you would expect from JBL. The earcups have plush foam and the headset has a padded airy headband. This makes them very comfortable even if you keep them on for long period of times. The earcups make good seal around the ears which also blocks outside noise. They fold flat which makes them easy for transportation. There are numbered notches in the extendable headband. This makes getting a good fit fairly straightforward. There is a detachable microphone which worked as expected. I also paired them with my Samsung s9+ via bluetooth and the music quality was good too. Now, in terms of areas for improvement, I think these headphones need some improvement to make them easy to use. First when I paired them with my PC using the wireless dongle, I had to change my sound settings which was Ok. But the problem is that they don't work seamlessly with different applications. For example, I was able to get the sound for my PC games (e.g. Civilization 6) but if I try to watch a YouTube video or do a Zoom meeting, I was not able to get the audio output via these headphones. So, switching between various PC applications and getting the sound through them is not consistent. The other problem that I faced with them is that I can't adjust the PC or smartphone volume through the controls that are located on the left earcup. For a headset with $200 price tag, I would expect more. Also, they are truly wireless only if you are using them with PC or PS4, for XBOX or Switch you will need to use the provided 3.5mm cable. Obviously, this has more to do with the options that XBOX and Switch provide in-terms of audio output but still the description seems a little bit misleading. Overall, while I am very happy with the sound quality and comfort these guys provide, I am a bit disappointed with the design/interface specially given the price tag.

These headphones offer good sound quality and are pretty comfortable for closed back headphones. The have good sound isolation passively and the ANC surprised me with how good it was, they completely block out a running RV A/C while sitting directly below it. And unlike a few other ANC headphones I did not experience any discomfort or added 'pressure' when using ANC. Sound quality is good and positioning is great, as long as you aren't using the Quantum Surround. In stereo and DTS these are great for gaming and movies but the quantum option wasn't for me. It does give the sound a more open feeling but it is not as clean and for some reason everything shifted positioning wise. Sound that should be in front of you was coming from overhead and it all sounded 'tilted'. This is really not a big deal for me as I usually prefer to use headphones in stereo and let the game engine handle the audio positioning and for movies the DTS setting works just fine and doesn't really color the audio much but gives good surround and little more low end punch. The controls are easy to find and operate by feel and the red light facing you on the boom mic when it is muted is a nice touch. The software for controlling the audio options and RGB is simple and easy to use. Wireless via the dongle and bluetooth both function flawlessly. I had no issues with pairing and I did not experience any video sync issues due to audio lag. My only complaint about connectivity is that I am a little disappointed that it does not function completely wirelessly with an XBox. You'll need to plug 3.5mm into the controller. I was worried these would be too shiny and gaudy with the chrome ear cup buts it is a much more subdued dark chrome in person and it's not as bulky as I thought either. The RGB has a nice glow with different and customizable settings available and can be turned off if that's more your style.

I was really really worried at first that my headset was DOA as I later found out many other users had encountered with their headset. Thankfully whatever the glitch was worked itself out and my husband got it to work. Check your headset FIRST THING and ensure everything, not just the Bluetooth or regular connectivity. Pros: - Actually noise-cancelling - Many headsets and earbuds I have used that proclaimed to be noise-cancelling. These ones actually are! - Truly top notch game sound quality. - Great price point especially for gaming headsets (worth the competitive cost) Cons: - Charging stinks: So the headset completely shuts down to charge, so you can't use it while it's charging --- and btw it takes 2 hours to charge! Just be sure to fully charge it well before you plan to play for a while - Wireless connection (dongle) is not compatible with Xbox as Xbox doesn't support Bluetooth capability (surprisingly). You can use the 3.5mm jack though. Just be advised of this before buying. The cons are a bit annoying, but for those of us on a budget but still wanting good quality for gaming, JBL is the way to go.

The sound from these are fantastic. I've been playing call of duty warzone mostly and hearing the enemies have become way clearer than ever before . I was using generic earbuds before and it's amazing how much detail in sound I was missing . The build of the headphones are great, very cool looking. The cables are high quality. From the 3.5mm cable to the USB c cable, very unique design and I feel can hold up long term . I like the added sturdiness to the 3.5mm jack plug I use these for the Xbox one and this is where my 4 out of 5 star review comes in. I can't for the life of me figure out how to hook these up wirelessly. I've tried plugging in the usb adapter and read the manual but nothing indicates it can be connected wirelessly unless I'm missing something.. Not a deal breaker for me as they still do what their main purpose is and that's offer great surround sound headphone quality to up the gaming experience and give a competitive advantage against others. Another negative for me is theyre quite heavy so that is an adjustment on the head as well as not being the most pleasant to wear if you wear eyeglasses. A lot of adjusting to get a good comfort level.

This headset comes with a USB-C charging cable, 3.5 MM audio, 2.4 GHz USB Wireless dongle, and a foam cover for the microphone. The stated charging time is 2 hours for 14 hours of battery life with the lighting off. The boom microphone works great for gaming and video conferencing, and you can mute it by folding it up or pressing a button on the left earpiece. The Active Noise Cancelling feature blocks out background noise really well to minimize distractions. You can customize the sound, microphone and lightening effects via a downloadable program. It has a Discord Certified game-chat dial so you can adjust the volume of chat vs game sounds. Most importantly it's a very comfortable headset! You can have the best headset features in the world, but they don't mean a thing if you don't want to wear it! This headset checks all the boxes for comfort and performance.

With the JBL - Quantum 800 RGB Wireless DTS Headphone:X v2.0 Gaming Headset you are getting exactly what you are paying for. A good gaming headset but not only that they are Bluetooth as well so you can also use them with your phone to listen to music and make calls. I have used them gaming with both the 7.1 surround sound and DTS and personally I like the sound quality in DTS better. The JBL Quantum 800's have a lot of clarity especially in DTS connected with 2.4gz WIFI. I was very impressed with the sound over wireless in this configuration. I also appreciate that JBL included the Quantum Engine Software for Windows 10 but I would like to see an app for phones as well. As far as the layout of the controls I find them very simple and easy to use once I learned the layout. The volume and mic controls are on the left earphone as rollers with nice ridges on them. The mute button is at the bottom left and the Noise cancellation button is at the top left above the Mic roller. Then on the right side there is an on-off switch and a BlueTooth connection button. These headphones are very comfortable on my big head which is great for long sessions with them. They seem to me to be of very good quality for the price point and are very sharp looking especially with the alternating colored lighting. In my opinion, these headphones are a great option at their pricepoint and I would not hesitate to recommend them to someone for gaming and or making calls and listening to music. The JBL Quantum 800's are a versatile high-quality headset that I think people will enjoy many hours with if they purchase them!

JBL - Quantum 800 RGB Wireless DTS Headphone:X v2.0 Gaming Headset I am not much of a gamer anymore so I gave them to my son to try. I won't get them back. I asked him to give me his input on this headset. These are his words: This headset has great sound quality and battery life. The design is great and they are very comfortable to wear. The Bluetooth works flawlessly. The mic works well and muting the sound is easy. The cable attaches easily and is smooth, too. However, I prefer the Bluetooth. The headset connected in seconds and stays paired until it is turned off. I believe it is the best headset for the price.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the Quantum 800 did not meet your expectations. There are many different ways to connect headphones to any given system. We at JBL have made it possible to connect the Quantum 800 in various ways: Wired, Bluetooth, and USB Wireless. Unfortunately, the Xbox One controller does not support USB headsets. This is not specific to JBL. For use with the Xbox One, you are limited to using the 3.5mm wired connection. We apologize for any inconvenience. JBL

Fantastic piece of gear- plenty of connectivity and configuration options. The headset is sturdily built, and the sound quality is superior. The noise cancellation works well, but my only complaint is the battery life, but for a headset that does so much, it's expected that the battery might be drained quicker than usual. Overall, fantastic product and one that I couldn't stop putting on my friends heads because I just wanted them to try it.

I had to replace my steel series Arctis pro headset and wanted to go wireless. Due to the virus outbreak the stock was limited but i was shown this headset and was intrigued with what i was reading about it. So for the Pros first: +Sound quality was quite good and surround sound excellent in game +flip up mic muting is a welcome touch Negatives: - Biggest negative is that you can not use the headset while charging. So when the battery runs out you either have to connect to the 3.5mm port or charge it and do something else for a while. - Charging takes forever. Each night i have had to charge it overnight because it is just not practical to try and charge in between sessions and expect to have long lasting performance. -Battery advertised at 14 hrs. The Max I have had is 8 hrs. and that is with it being brand new. -There is a small button on the headset that can be used for talking to others in the room with the headset on, but it easily gets pressed when adusting the headset and then game/chat volume disappears. Overall I cannot recommend this headset. There are many better options for this price point.

I bought this hoping I could use it for the PC and mobile at the same time, or even have it paired to both at the same time. I had serious issues getting it to pair to both, and then when I had it paired to my phone, it would unpair it from my PC and force me to either then turn off bluetooth on my phone and re-pair it, or to use it via USB on the PC and bluetooth on my phone. The sound is much better via bluetooth than USB, in both directions, and trying to get it to play music, while chatting and playing a game takes some jenga/twister/yoga to do. I wanted simplicity, I got more swapping this out for that. Also, the holes in the ear cups are not big enough to do a comfortable over ear. My old Logitech USB gaming headset cost half as much, is multiple years old and is more comfortable.
