Quick way to make travel music

After 50 year of collecting LP'S and 45's I wanted to listen to these oldies on the go. You can put a turntable in your car very easy. Besides there is not enough room.
Came across this unit online and read some reviews.
Well after the reviews I thought, WHAT DO I HAVE TO LOOSE?
Bought it and after reading and re reading the instructions (Which are not real clear on some thing) I sat down and made some CD'S from LP'S.
The first one didn't work out like I really thought it should, but it was music that I could travel with. After the second conversion I discovered a short step and improved the next 12.. Now they didn't turn out like a recording studio, but they worked.
This is a unit that can give you hours of old LP's and 45's and yes , if you have some OLD 78's that works too. Just be ready to spend some time.
One thing that could have been better was the pause mode. You need that to flip to side two or skip a couple of track that you don't want.
In short it's worth the money. Just be prepared to spend some time making the conversions.

I tried all functions, they work. The only set back is that I tried some 90 minutes CD's, but they do not work, they record 5 minutes and get cut off.
I noticed that the CD 1 door do not open at first touch of the operating button, but works at the second push.
Over all a good product for the money.

Still learning about product. Like different features. Sound quality is poor and have to re-adjust volume every time you turn on.

The features include Radio AM/FM; vinyl LP player; CD-1 and CD2 + Aux
All that is compacted into a versatile sound-machine.
However, the array of buttons and knobs are not user-friendly; the operation of this thing is complex; and to make matters worse, each button is labelled with lightly white letters that are printed so small that they cannot be recognized without a magnifying glass. Each function requires several buttons to initiate. I have not "recorded" anything at all, because it is too complex. There is little variation between high and low volume.
Actually, my opinion is that a better quality of speaker could have been provided for the price paid. (Speakers are very low quality... not a medium grade. So the speakers do no justice to the fairly good quality of the stereo system.

Only a tool, not meant for quality

I bought this so i could transfer my cassettes to CD & put them on the computer, but the instructions to use are difficult and the errors are easy to come by. No other buttons for cassette player than play & Ffwd; the cd player takes a long time to read a disc or switch functions. Other than that, it's not a bad tool, sound is not quality but will do, way over priced in my opinion.

Component Failures

I had to return my first unit due to cassette failure. I was able to play two cassettes before the cassette component died. I reordered a second system and both CD compartments failed. CD1 would not recognize or play a CD. CD2 would recognize and play a CD, but I couldn’t get the CD compartment to open so I could retrieve my CD. I had to turn the unit off and then it let me get my CD back. Therefore I returned this second unit and got a refund. Needless to say I did not reorder anther system.

My only complaint with this system is that there is not a way to adjust bass and treble. Therefore, the sound quality is less than I expected from Jensen.

I wanted a compact but stylish stereo system for my living room - did not want one that would overwhelm my decor, but would complement the area where I wanted it to go. This system provides this beautifully -- it looks great and the sound from the various mediums (CDs, records, and tapes, of which I have a large collection) is good and exactly what I was hoping to get in my purchase. I have had this system for a short time, but I am very pleased with this purchase.

I kept a lot of old vinyl- and with it coming back, getting a new turntable was my goal- along with a new CD player- but my apartment is small- this is perfect- good sound - even though the speakers are small- perfect fit and met all my requirements- excellent price, too!!!

Adquate for Dorm Room, costly for mediocre music

MP3 jack in front and burns CD’s, these make it twice as expensive as JTA-475B (if you just want to listen). Will produce fair music from CD, tape cassettes or records. Adequate for dorm room or small room, but not quality music and maximum volume is limited, because of the extremely low-power speakers at 2 watt (yes 2) each. Inexpensive but you get the sound volume/quality that you pay for. (My existing “Rack” system has 70 watt speakers driven by 90 W/channel (Technics by Panasonic. Enough power to break the woofer membrane if turned up too loud). Unknown frequency response, but the clarity seems muddled and the highs (treble) and lows (bass) just are not produced like they should be. The quality is “OK” for the price. (My amp has 20 Hz to 20 kHz bass to treble, which is 10 times better listening experience – can hear the individual instruments and background.) The tape cassette is hard to insert and questionable quality?, compared to the type where the door opens and you drop the cassette in. Plays records, but the cartridge (needle) would be low quality, so it would not reproduce quality sound from a record. The dust cover is open in front and back and will not keep it dust free. The speaker covering mesh cloth is a joke - would not stand up; and the woofer edges stick out on the sides of the cloth. I only had for a day, trying it. So for $300 will record to CD-R/RW and to cassette tapes. Music listening only, get the other model JTA-475B; It appears about the same but listening only. I qualify the “Recommend to Friend” only as a minimal sound system.
