Stable and Secure for my Very Heavy Camera

I have a Sony DSLR and a very heavy lens - this one-of-a-kind tool provided the most stable footing I could have achieved for the weight, size and configurability. I am considering getting a second one for my other camera.

I bought this to take on the road. I am a professional photographer, so preparing for a road trip usually involves gear. However due to restrictions such as airline limits, I try and meet my requirements with the smallest yet reliable forms of inventory. I have to take a camera and a few lenses, that's a given, but anticipating the need for a sturdy support, is tricky. Compact tripods are not always compact. Many times they aren't as solidly built as I would want. This grip allows for both, sturdiness and compact. Although you are not going to shoot at heights associated with tripods without using a table or something taller, this allows you to position your camera and expect it to remain in place.
It's ideal for low angle shots, such as on the beach for landscape captures. I recently shot some night time beach exposures, each about 2-3 minutes in length and the Gobe held in place as expected. Very versatile and professionally made.

The Joby GorillaPod is a wonderful camera support! Not only is it a fully functional tripod, it also works well as a handheld monopod. {Provides much needed stability to the small camcorders & cameras.} The flexible joints work well to mount the cam to poles/ posts/ chairs/ & people. {It can be a little time consuming to get the legs back to straight, but I am nit picking.} The ball head allows for quick angle adjustments; and tightens securely at any angle. (If the head had some sort of friction it would be perfect.} Overall the two combine to make a very good short {Under 20 inch} tripod system. :)

I was very apprehensive about purchasing this gorilla pod because I saw several others listed at a cheaper cost on other online stores. Unfortunatly, they were very cheap and easily broke apart when you over bend them. I expected the same when I purchased this and kept my receipt just in case.
I know that Casey Neistat uses this product so I gave it a try. I am glad that I did it because it is well constructed and I am very happy with the purchase. It's strong and doesn't feel like its made of cheap material. I use it as a vlogging item to hold the camera and the actual item feels like hard rubber and not that cheap plastic. Overall I recommend this item to anyone.

My only gripe about this product is that the legs tend to fold over when angling the camera downward despite making the necessary adjustments to stabilize it.

awesome addition to the bag. I love using it when I know I'll be taking a lot of shots from a very low angle. It helps keep my camera off the ground. I use it especially when I want to take long exposure shots from a low angle.

Love the gorilla pod but the attachment for the camera is really bad. I wouldn't even attempt to use it. But a new tripod head for it immediately. The camera felt unstable and loose on the head that came with it. New head fixed the problem.

Happy to have found a small, light weight portable tripod that can hold the weight of a Digital SLR camera. This Flexible Joby Gorillapod can hold up to 3kg (6.5 lb). The bendable, flexible legs are helpful. At first, I was a little surprised that the legs do not smoothly/ quickly/ easily return to the stick-straight position the item is sold in. However, in order for this tripod to be able to hold up the weight of a DSLR and not change position, it completely makes sense that it takes some energy to move the tripod legs into different positions. Just an observation, and it's not a problem, so it should not deter someone from buying it. I found this item was on sale on-line. I went to purchase it from my local Best Buy store, where I found it was listed at regular price. The sales associate helped me purchase it for the on-line sale price, by verifying the on-line price on his store computer.

Love this tripod. Small and light enough to keep attached to my camera even while hiking with camera strap around neck. Easy to attach and detach to camera. Very durable legs. Able to twist into multiple positions to allow security of camera. Was able to get "family" photos with all of us while hiking because tripod could be maneuvered on uneven rocks, wrapped around trees, placed on uneven ground to hold my camera (Canon 70D). Fit into the water bottle holder of my camera backpack. Finally the photographer can be in pictures too!

The Joby GorillaPod is a wonderful little tripod that can be used with just about any camera. It really shines in those tight/cramped areas (caves, slot canyons, dense forest, etc.) where you cant fit a full sized tripod. And, the bubble level is a wonderful addition. It fills the small yet versatile tripod niche nicely. You will likely still need a standard height tripod for most photos though, so I wouldn't call this item a necessity.

I've been using it for a month. It is able to stabilize my 2+lb dslr with no issues. I've had this thing wrapped around a railing 6 floors up with no issues. Since it had three axis of stabilization it makes it perfect for almost any shooting schenerio. I highly recommend this if you want to set up shots anywhere you go. It's a staple in my bag now.

Joby - Gorillapod Tripod - Multi is a lightweight tripod with the nice feature of individual leg joints that let you wrap the tripod around a post, perch it on a rock or clamp it around a chair for flexibility. It came with my camera purchase and should be very useful.

I wanted a small tripod I could fit in a backpack on a trip to England and Wales and this fit the bill super well. I am wholly impressed with how well this thing holds the weight of a 7D Mark II and big lens! This is a great product! Very versatile!

This is a great tripod. Small enough to take along just about anywhere, sturdy and durable, and the ballhead makes getting the perfect setup quick and easy, vs. all of the adjustments I have to make on my full-size tripod!

The gorilla pod is very very easy to use and adjust. It feels very sturdy so there are no worries that the camera could be damaged by an unsecure pod It is very versatile and very light and easy to bring any place instead of a bulky tripod

This was just what I was looking for. It "holds on" to everything just as advertised. It supports my camera perfectly. Does not take up a lot of room and is light weight so it is easy to carry around.
