Awesome product. I also have a Breville Barista Express and this is way much easier. So simple and awsome tasting espresso. Regular coffee tastes amazing too and it’s ready in like 1 minute. Highly recommend this machine. I was lucky and got an open box deal for like $700.

Just opened and installed/assembled. There’s an extra black nozzle piece that I can’t figure out where it goes. Start-up instructions are not so great. Doesn’t walk you through all the steps. Disjointed initial setup process. But very detailed for cleaning and daily care.
Overall, I just made made coffee and espresso. Such a nice machine that makes great coffee and espresso. I am thrilled. Hope it works like this for years to come. Can’t wait to try the milk frother for a cappuccino!

Works great. Quiet, quieter than my old Jura E9 I have had for 10 years. Best machine in my opinion.

Brews good tasting coffee to your own preference of strength and fast, too. My major complaint to this coffee machine is the capacity of the water filter. The capacity is small. I already changed the coffee filter once, after five weeks of brewing coffee, eight to ten cups everyday. I wish the Jura engineers will design and manufacture large capacity water filter.

5 weeks in and haven’t skipped a beat. Have left everything on defaults so haven’t played with grind levels yet. But so far so great.

Great Coffee and Convenience, Very Eco-Friendly

Pros:
* Very easy to use.
* Excellent build quality.
* Amazing coffee that is ground one cup at-a-time.
Cons:
* Can’t switch coffee per cup.
My Review:
I’ve been using a Nespresso single-serve pod-type coffee maker for years. I love the convenience of being able to make a single cup at a time, but that convenience usually comes at a cost of ‘good’ but not ‘great’ coffee. Their ground coffee is sealed in metal pods that helps keep in the freshness, but nothing compares to a cup of freshly-ground coffee. You can recycle their pods, but there is still a lot of waste from the boxes for the pods, the pods themselves, transportation of the pods to recycling, etc..
The Jura e6 is an amazing machine. You just load it up with the beans of your choice and it grinds and brews one or two side-by-side cups at a time. You can dial up the strength and size of your cup and it’s made on-demand. Milk-based drinks are just as easy. There are 3 spouts where you put your cup under; two for coffee and one for frothed milk. To make milk-based drinks, you connect the provided hose to a glass or carton of milk and the Jura does the rest (except for flipping a milk/coffee bypass knob during the process when it says to). The color LCD screen isn’t touch-enabled, but the buttons on the sides are easy enough to use. If you attach the optional BlueTooth dongle (about $60), you can even use their app to connect to the machine for everything.
Even the unpacking experience was elevated. From the removal of the machine from the box to the way the manuals are packed was unexpected and appreciated. There is a water hardness tester in the box, too, so you can adjust the machine accordingly and choose to use their “smart” filter to get the best taste from whatever water you have available. I use reverse osmosis water at my home, so I’m going without the provided (and consumable) filter.
Everything that I have made with this unit has come out great and tasted significantly better than my pod-based brewer. Cleanup is easy, too. It does an automatic rinsing cycle for both the coffee and milk nozzles. You just pull out a tray to dump the spent coffee grounds and the rinse water and then slide it back in.
While I like being able to recycle the metal pods from Nespresso, they do need to be kept in a bag until the bag is full enough to drive to UPS where a truck brings it to a recycling center. With the Jura, there is no need to recycle anything. You can compost the spent coffee grounds and the beans typically come in a single bag that is far less packaging than the equivalent amount of pods. Overall, this machine is much more eco-friendly than even recycling your pods.
Now the ONLY downfall of this machine (aside from the buy-in cost)… With the pod-based machines, you can freely mix up the coffee flavor by using a different pod per cup. With the Jura, you load a hopper full of beans and that is the blend of coffee you get for all cups until the beans are all used up- which is quite a few cups. Only then can you put another variety of beans in. Jura also recommends that you don’t use flavored beans as it might gunk up the hopper and grinder. I just use flavored additives or creamers to adjust the taste after the cup is brewed.
If your priority is switching up your brew for each cup and you don’t mind that each cup is OK but not great, then you should probably stick with a pod-based machine.
If you value a great cup of coffee in the convenience of your home, this Jura machine is for you!

My coffee has just leveled up!

I was a bit intimidated when this thing arrived. It's a quantum leap from my previous machines -- which graduated from costs of $50 - 100 - 200 - 250 - 300 - 400. I enjoyed the features/benefits of each machine, but this one blows them all away in terms of the quality of the beverage.
Here's what you don't get with this -- you can't make a full pot of coffee all at once. So if you have a half-dozen guests all waiting for their coffee, they'd have to wait their turn. Also it makes wonderful normal coffee, but it brews a maximum of 8 oz at a time. I'd have to brew 2 cups to fill my travel mug. It also has limited clearance for cups. The nozzle height it adjustable but only goes up to 4 1/2". Just a tiny bit too short for a 12oz disposable cup. It is nice and compact though; it fits under my very low upper cabinets with room to clear.
What you do get is a high-end cup of coffee, easily dispensing cappuccinos, espressos, and normal (small) cups of coffee. The water tank is huge, but it does go through a lot of water for rinsing itself and stuff like that. It has a really cool drip tray with a lot of capacity, and there's a bin where it dumps the used coffee grounds.
The instructions are kind of vague, so it's a little confusing to set it up for first use. It took me a moment to realize that there's buttons beside the display and it's not a touch screen, and how to navigate through the menu options. The instructions need way more pictures; for example, the milk hose comes with a black connector that plugs into the machine. There's a special nozzle for dispensing hot water, but there's no picture of it in the instructions so you have to figure out how to use it. Once you get it figured out, it's pretty easy. I got the Bluetooth adapter thing, and it took me quite a while to figure out where it attaches. You also need to get some solution for cleaning the milk system; it would be nice if it came with some, or if there were a readily-available cleaner for it. I don't like that it's a proprietary solution because my wife and I are going to be using this thing every day.
It's worth it though.

My wife has had her eye on a Jura coffee machine for a while now, and after picking up a fancy drop coffee machine, Nespresso machine and pod-coffee system, we decided to bite the bullet and simplify down to this monster to replace our espresso and pod-coffee system.
When we first opened the box, it was pretty intimidating. The Jura E6 is much larger than other coffee machines or systems we've had in the past. The instructions were fairly extensive and it was a little overwhelming at first. But once we got started, it was easy to get going and set up the filter and easy to use.
The E6 comes with a built-in grinder on the top of the unit so you can use freshly ground coffee grinds every brew. It's worth noting though, that putting coffee beans in is much easier than trying to get them out, so if you live in a setting where you drink regular and someone else drinks decaf, someone will have to wait until the beans you poured into the top run out.
Once you have everything set up, you can choose between regular coffee, espresso, cappuccino, or hot water for tea. One of the most attractive features in the E6 was, we didn't have to use coffee filters anymore. The machine brews single cups of coffee or double shots if you have smaller espresso cups and it doesn't require replacing a coffee filter after each use which is lovely. It's recommended that you remove the bottom drip tray after a few cups of coffee because the E6 will dump the used coffee grounds into a holding box that is attached to the drip tray.
The E6 also comes with a hard water test stripe to test out your water. We have harder water here, so we used the E6's water filter to help clean the water out. You can also use your own filtered water to fill the attached tank. Unlike the Jura unit at my work, the E6 doesn't have an option to attach to a water line, which is fine for us, but if you're in a fancier set up, it's something to be aware of.
The unit will also automatically clean when powering on and right before powering off - so don't freak out if you've brewed some coffee and then hear it run some water after a bit. We leave a coffee cup under the spouts so we don't have to remove the bottom drip tray every time.
There's also an optional Bluetooth accessory you can pick up for an extra cost, they're not sold at Best Buy, which will enable you to operate your E6 from a mobile app. The unit has to be on for it to work, but you can build custom recipes in the app and queue them up.
At a $1400 price, this is certainly an investment. However, if you factor out cost-per-use, cost of filters, cost of going to a coffee shop for a fancy cup of coffee, the E6 will have a lower total cost of ownership over the long term. This was definitely an indulgent play on our part, but this thing brews one helluva cup of coffee! If you're a coffee lover and you want to have something that is easy to use, own and makes a great cup, then put this on your Christmas list!

This machine is great! Stores the beans in the top, makes great coffee, cappuccino, espresso, frothy milk, and water. The menu is easy to follow and works as expected every time. Nice to have a large water basin that attaches, probably can get about 8-10 cups per fill up. Great that it cleans itself. Would advise getting a small cup to place under the nozzles for when machine cleans itself, to lessen the drip tray changes. Definitely worth it for a sold machine that performs every time.

A client of mine had the E8. It made the best cup of coffee i've ever had. the only difference between the E8 and the E6 is the milk frothing system. If you dont mind manually turning a switch to froth milk it is worth the 1k less to get the e6. These are expensive machines regardless of which model you get, but they are worth it.

This machine makes barista-grade coffee completely automatically. Don’t be fooled by machines that are less expensive yet look similar — I’ve tried them and the coffee is markedly inferior. You will not be disappointed by the Jura machine. Every coffee drinker, and not just “aficionados”, remarks what a fine cup my Jura makes.

This is THE best machine we’ve had! Got hooked on espressos while in Italy, so we bought it to make these, but now I LOVE the coffees it makes! Excellent crema! I use it everyday! Don’t go to coffee shops hardly anymore. Pricey, but it pays for itself in no time!

Very good but expensive espresso machine. Looks great on the countertop with a very modern clean design. We got ours in a -$200 Thanksgiving promo but there is no denying that it's expensive for a consumer grade countertop machine. Does it produce espresso that is better than a comparable non-jura. I personally don't think so. You definitely pay a premium for the jura brand and design.
It'll fit all standard countertops but you'll have to make sure you are comfortable with something of this size. It's quite a big unit depth wise.
Machines has many features that are are well documented.
Whole bean grinder is very convenient and produces a fresher tasting espresso with wonderful creama. Truth be told, not sure if most drinkers will be able to tell noticable difference between whole bean and reasonably fresh pre-grounded in a blind test.
Nonetheless, it was one of the features I was looking for and I've not been disappointed. I've definitely used more beans since owning the machine.
Espressos (1.5oz to 2.5oz) are produced at the perfect drinking temperature; however I find the coffee temperature for an 8oz cup to be a tad too low even when set at highest temp. (Even when using a pre warmed cup).
