Solid, user-friendly protection

The exact components that go into a security suite vary, but most include antivirus, firewall, spam filtering, and parental control. To those core components, K I S (2015) adds accurate phishing detection, a hardened browser for financial transactions, useful tuneup tools, and more. It's a solid suite.
Given that the average person owns several Internet connected devices, straight PC security does not really cut it anymore. That’s why companies like Kaspersky are starting to offer cross-platform solutions for marginally more than their traditional PC-only antivirus programs.
Kaspersky Internet Security—Multi-Device 2015 protects up to three devices, including PCs, Macs, and Android phones and tablets. In addition to antivirus, you get some useful Android safety features such as anti-theft and loss protection, remote management, and automatic app scanning.

I always seem to have problems with internet security suites. Don't get me started on Norton or McAfee. I gave this a try since I have never used it before and find it to be a worthy security system. The only glitch I have found was following a windows The update files included a file that Kapersky identified as being malware which it, as programmed, promptly isolated and deleted. Of course this caused the machine to not operate properly and a system restore had to be done to prior to the Window service update. Of course, I cannot speak to the security of the download and whether or not someone piggy-backed malware with the update, I just know my computer stopped working properly. I have run into similar problems with Norton and McAfee in the past.

Tech support I am not so sure about. My 1st visit to best buy was about July 17 th to get the service plan and update Kaspersky and to clean up my laptop. I picked up my computer 5 days later only to have to bring it back again and again for about 5 weeks. Kaspersky would not update, online tech support could not help me because my disk was full. The kaspersky was at risk and I lost the internet. The last time I brought it in they had it for 11 days and guess what. When I got it home I could not update Kaspersky because had no Internet connection. On Aug 20th I went back and waited while someone addrested the internet connection issue. Finally I am happy to say all is well.

Over the years, I used several various brands of security software, but I’ve been using Kaspersky Internet Security for the last few years now. I remain quite satisfied, and I’ve installed this product on several friend’s computers. Everyone seems to like it. I’ve heard no complaints.
I only recently upgraded from KIS 2014 to KIS 2015. (I suggest that the old version be completely removed/uninstalled and the new version then installed.) I opted to retain all my settings from KIS 2014 when I did the upgrade; however, I quickly noticed that while my basic settings were retained, some features previously turned off were now active. This is not a big deal, and it might even be to my benefit. I had originally turned off some features because I felt they were overkill and would just get in the way. After the upgrade, I decided to live with the extended security features, just to see if my feelings of their getting in the way were justified. To my surprise, they seemed to be not so troublesome, even a bit comforting. Yes, I left them turned on and have not at all been troubled.
When my subscription for KIS 2015 nears its expiration date, I will gladly purchase yet another copy from Best Buy, enter the software key in the KIS 2015 licensing window, and let the license automatically renew when the old one expires. I like it! Five stars.

Kaspersky-Always at the Top of the Best Antivirus

Kaspersky has always been at the top of the independent lab antivirus tests every year. Ahead of Norton, McAfee, AVG, Webroot and the rest. Just recently BitDefender has come out on top as the best as compared to all the others including Kaspersky but Kaspersky Internet Security is all anyone needs for their computer's safety and it has saved me many times over the last few of years as I surfed into the deep bowels of the internet. An excellent antivirus and firewall with a few extra protections at a good price. Check out the comparisons listed on the Amazon site for the differences of Kaspersky products.
It's easy enough to install and scans a full computer fairly fast and also doesn't slow your system down. Kaspersky has an excellent support site. I've used the email and IM choices and have always received a prompt reply which corrected my problem.
A couple of caveats. Before installing Kaspersky or any other antivirus make sure you completely uninstall your previous versions of the software. It will save you a the huge headache of a bad install. Sometimes the built in uninstall choice that comes with Windows doesn't remove all the nuances. Kaspersky has a Kaspersky Removal Tool so check with your current antivirus software for a specific removal tool.
I highly recommend Kaspersky to you and all my family and friends.

Security Trade-offs

I just converted from Norton 360 to Kaspersky.
It is hard to tell whether I am more secure.
I THINK I am ... at least that's the input I get from the web .
But am I? ... Time will tell.
I prefer the Norton UI, but that may be simply because that is what I am used to.
I get the impression that there are 'automatic' safeguards in Kaspersky that could impede computer performance ... in the interest of security.
Following on that line, I believe I need to do my homework and then review the Kaspersky configuration
So, for all of those issues, I give the package 4-stars only.
But that doesn't mean it isn't the best security around.

Pretty basic anti-virus software

Kaspersky ant-virus is a pretty standard anti-virus program. It's like McAfee or AVG, without much difference. I cannot tell really if it does anything special, but I did notice that, while the program updates itself, Window's 8.1 doesn't notice the program updates itself. So Windows will occasionally provide me a warning, saying that I need to update Kaspersky when it's already updated. That can be annoying. I'm sure it's an easy fix. But overall, it's pretty basic ant-virus software. I wouldn't spend money on this when you can get AVG for free and it does pretty much the same thing. I'm glad it comes free with Best Buy computer purchases.

Seems like a quality program but have not had it long enough to adequate evaluate its effectiveness. My only negative to date is that too many pop ups regarding the program haunt you after installation. I had to call the company for help getting rid of them and ended up buying a 3 year computer problem assistance program plus 3 more years of protection at a cost $299 which in reality I cannot afford. However, they did do an excellent job or correcting and all computer problems and their help is a phone call for two more years plus Kasparsky for three.

I bought it when I bought the computer and downloaded it when I installed the computer but two weeks later it tells me my trial period will be up in two weeks. What's up with that? Have to re-install it. Also sometimes I can't open a file the first time and have to try it two or three times before it allows me to. My son-in-law recommended it and he's a computer geek so I figured it was better than the one he'd recommended before and that one was great. I'm sure this one is better but it is frustrating. Still, I would recommend it to others.

I recently purchased a new laptop. After a few days I noticed some annoying things happening, pop-up windows not being blocked, my favorite webpage constantly being changed/redirected etc. It became so bad I was at the end of my wits and took it in to the Geek Squad. It was a virus that came with the new laptop apparently. They installed the Kaspersky anti virus software (I previously had Norton). Still have some interference with pop-ups but not as bad as before. I feel more secure using the laptop for my financial transactions as it also comes with Safe Money.

I had used McAfee and BitDefender earlier and this is first time I am using Kaspersky, till now this one did a good job. This is unobstructive performer like Bitdefender for sure.
Though one thing I found security around doing any banking transactions.. This one asks for opening the site in same window or another one.. and there sometimes the transactions are not able to come back to original parent sites, but it worked on most properly so I am not sure what exactly is the issue, other than that I think this was really good.

Produces alerts when appropriate. Seems to work a little better through Explorer, rather than Google Chrome when you are viewing your sensitive information (on-line banking) or doing on-line shopping. Overall I am pleased with the product. I did have a real problem adding a wireless printer after installation. The Geek Squad got it running, but had to turn off the Windows 10 firewall to do it. Tech explained that the combination o the Kasperky and Windows firewalls required shutting one off. I do consider that a significant issue.

I haven't experienced any computer slow down issues when the computer is scanning while I am working. I definitively experienced this when I was using a different anti-virus program. The one thing I do not like is the popup that I get that states I can disenable a Kaspersky Internet Security function/feature to speed up the time it takes to access an internet page but I have no clue what it is referring to exacting and what would it affect if I disenable it. It should come with more instructions to help consumers make an informed decision.

I hate that modern bloatware AV programs want to control every aspect of your PC (i.e. Firewall, browser monitor, etc.) . Stick to scanning things that come in on email through the browser and scan my HDD's, that's all you need to do! Kaspersky is a company in Russia but the owner has always shown that his customers come first
I used his software on my servers as far back as 1998 when the major AV companies charged over a $1000 a year for server antivirus software, Kaspersky was $80. I trust this software, and recommend it.

I bought this virus protection based on the recommendation of the Best Buy associate. I trust that they should be more knowledgeable than I am because they work on computer problems all the time.
All I want is something to stop viruses and malware, I don't need something that keeps popping up asking if I want to add this or that.
Ask me in a few months or so how I like this program. If I don't, I'll trash it and find something that works.
3 computers covered for 3 years for about $50 is not a bad deal.

I have been using Kaspersky ever since it came out and eventually switched all my devices to Kaspersky from Norton, Webroot, McAffee. What can I say? The interface is easy to use and it seems to catch more potentially unwanted stuff, which can be annoying sometimes because most people won't be able to tell if the problem is real or just excessive warning. To avoid hassles just use the default settings unless you are a hack candidate, in which case there's probably not much you could do about it anyways.

Got this software free with my MacBook Pro purchase, although I'm not sure why I need antivirus software for Mac? I had to go online to download the software as the new models do not come equipped with a CD Rom. I think most people would just not install it rather than go through the trouble of downloading and installing it, so I think it's a waste. It pops up this bothersome virtual keyboard when I enter a password. I tried to disable it but it still shows up. I guess it works fine, haven't gotten any viruses.

I got this free with my laptop purchase and use to using free anti virus software like Bitdefender and Avg anti virus but glad to have Kaspersky Internet Security due to the many premium features. Features like a secure browser for web sites that require credit card input or for checking your bank account, an extension that protects your browser (chrome) against threats, so far that extension has blocked malware and a phishing web site. I have not been infected with anything but use other software like Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Free and Adblock extension for Chrome browser to block things on a browser level also. Its crazy that this type of software is needed just to surf the web but the threats are high, the blocked phishing site was from a link from Yahoo.com which is considered a safe web site. hackers can use links, ads on web pages to do all types of stuff. Kaspersky and along with others are must have software for today.

I found Kaspersky internet security a very worthwhile product with much better security features than my former security which was Norton 360. The only downfall I found with Kaspersky is that it is somewhat more difficult to navigate through and use its features without really reading through thoroughly a couple of times the complete owners manual. Other than that this product works up to and exceeds former security programs which I have bought and installed on my computer.

Kaspersky is the top rated program for security and I do believe it is doing a good job. I like the protected browsers for some sites, and I am reassured by being told that a site 'has been moved to group trusted.' Having said that, the responses to some sites, most particularly a completely reliable bank site, are irritating, and seemingly cannot be turned off without messing up the entire system. Specifically, Kaspersky does not like the opening screen for my local bank, tells me it is a suspicious phising site, which it is not (and Kaspersky is fine once I get to page 2 on the site) and there is no way I have found to get rid of the flashing notification, which covers stuff up, until after I have signed off entirely. I am going to say I would recommend it, but I would do so only with reservations and explanations.
