These are really good especially on sale. If you are looking for good bookshelf speakers at a reasonable price get these on sale. They won't disappoint. I've got many Klipsch speakers and they sound really good for the price. If you want better you will have to pay much more $. Still may not be better. Love the horns!

I needed some inexpensive speakers for a COVID-friendly outdoor theater I was creating and was happily surprised to find these beauties on-sale for 50% off. An incredible bargain, to be sure, but especially so given the high quality sound they produce. Gordon Lightfoot sounds like he's right there in the room with you. Love the bass coming out the back ports. The speakers feel very solid and well-constructed.

Deep and rich bass from these speakers. They are crisp and loud for those who want them to listen to great quality sound. I listen to all sorts of music so I can get a wide range of sound from these speakers. I mounted them on the wall at an angle so I get much deeper bass. I would totally recommend for anyone looking to add rich sound to their home. It is pricy so look for sales or good deals.

Bought these open box for a great deal and absolutely don't regret it. I got these specifically to use with my turntable. I have them hooked up to a pro-ject debut carbon turntable with the ortofon 2M red cartridge running through the Cambridge Audio AXA35 amplifier and they sound amazing.
Sound quality wise they work well with all kinds of music from rock, indie, to rap, r&b and everything in between. They definitely lean towards the treble and the high end a bit and are a little lacking on the low end, but bass is not absent. It's overall a fairly neutral sound. Using the EQ through my amp I did turn down the treble a tad in order to bring the highs down as I was getting a bit fatigued after listening to them over a longer period of time. Lowering the treble helped a lot and they are super comfortable to listen to for an extended period of time.
Not sure how these will sound when using them for home theater use with movies/tv but I would imagine they still sound great. I would 100% recommend getting a sub for home theater use as these just won't output enough bass on their own to be satisfying.

This purchase was necessitated by excessive boom coming out of my 8” Cambridge woofers watching cable TV in 10x11 room. This despite engaging all bass dampening features on Onkyo 757 receiver.
There were times when subwoofers were necessary to pull out deep bass frequencies from TV. Later, I did not need the subwoofer anymore. Today, nothing seems to work to keep intensity of low frequencies down at tolerable level. Excessive bass boom seems to be in vogue for some TV producers. Gratuitously added in random to any content. No rhyme or reason, just booming. It is particularly disturbing while watching the news, like BBC or NY1.
Thanks to this trend, smaller woofers became necessity for me. I didn’t like to give up my Cambridge Ensemble, but have no choice anymore. My room is vibrating while watching news even at low levels.
Model R-51M looks like the best combination of smaller woofer and power handling at any price range currently available. It also has the highest low frequency threshold, 62 Hz rated at -3 dB among all models within 5” woofer size.
These are my first Klipsch speakers. Never trusted their horn tweeters. Thanks to those specs, I decided to try them. First, I zeroed out all bass dampening on my amplifier and tuned in the worst offending TV channels. To my surprise, the boom was virtually the same as with 8” Cambridge and minimized bass. Puzzling… So I maxed all Onkyo bass suppression and tried again. Finally, the boom was suppressed enough not to overtake the sound stage too much. Now I could start paying attention to actual sound quality.
My setup is 3.0 with Infinity Alfa as center speaker. It sounds differently than R-51M, but they work together fine for video. There is hardly any reference source for testing, though. The sound is all over the place from channel to channel, from program to program. And now, with virus, everybody broadcasting with different mikes, from different living rooms, over internet… Sometimes I feel like just using TV speakers for all video viewing. They smooth out audio differences between various sources.
So, for testing I chose music channels, which are CD quality. Used Direct mode, bypassing digital processing circuitry.
Speakers have good enough resolution to tell difference between qualities of recordings. Strangely, the sound was a bit muddy in direct mode, but brightened when switched to stereo mode. I missed richness of lower frequencies of Ensemble in classical music. I could let in more bass for music listening, but then I would have to keep re-equalizing every time I change the source. Or, keep my finger on mute button. Overall, I found nothing to complain about at this price level.
Thanks to R-51M, excessive booming of NY1 news is now under decent control. BBC world news still outbooms efforts of Onkyo receiver to control it. Heck, BBC news booming puts in shame some THX disaster movies.

My main speakers for a 2.1 stereo system for music, TV and movies. Driven by a 100W/channel stereo amp (Denon 800 series). Sound is very even over entire frequency spectrum and particularly good for voices. Even with all of the booming explosions and dramatic orchestral music of Dune, dialogue comes through clear. No distortion at highest volumes. Recommend use with sub woofer as bass is tight and audible but doesn't have the feel of a sub woofer. I expect these will last a long time.

I purchased these speakers for my gym room and paired it with my YamahaR-n602 receiver And Yamaha sw315 sub. And morrow audio cabling. The speakers are perfect for aggressive music especially when training. I listen to hardcore, punk, metal, rock and roll and cypress hill. The aggression is there from these speakers. I’m still breaking them in only a bout 20 hours. Yes they are bright good bass on them still recommend a sub. Why I got them for my gym loud and proud with limited space. Room size 12x15 and the room roars. I wouldn’t recommend blues , classical, jazz on these not really meant for that. That’s what my McIntosh setup is for. Anyways excellent rock speakers. Without grill they look fantastic! Got them on sale so even better!!!!!

What can I say... they're Klipsch! I have the whole Klipsch Reference system with these as my rear surrounds. They definitely have enough power to handle the surround lines, with clear highs, good mid-range and fairly decent bass tones... for such small drivers. If you can get these on a sale (like I did), I'd say to jump on them... they're worth it!

The speakers produce excellent sound. They look nice on my bookshelf and they don't take up a lot of space. The receiver allows me to use blue tooth and also have it hooked up so i can use some of my CDs. Nice to listen to FM radio at times. Very pleased with my purchase.

I use these almost exclusively for music and highly recommend them. Clear, crisp, detailed and lively sound. I thought I'd need a sub, but I feel the bass sufficient my needs. The efficiency of these speakers is outstanding -- I am pairing them with the SMSL SA300, an inexpensive class D amp (40 wpc) and they sound great. Quality is solid for this price.
I took off a star because Klipsch email support has been unresponsive. I emailed them 5 weeks ago and they still haven't responded despite 3 follow-up emails. I keep getting generic responses about support delays. It's a minor issue, but it casts doubt whether I could rely on email support for something serious.

I have these hooked up to a 2 ch. Yamaha receiver in my one car garage with a wood floor and I feel the bass in the floor whe I have it turned up to hear in the yard. Excellent performance for the price.
I do recommend these because for the same for sale price of $216...you will not be able to do any better.

Great sounding, and looking. My only minor issue was the pictures on the website showed a keyhole mount on the back. There is not, so if you're looking to wall mount them be prepared for a little extra work.

Good speakers, but definitely need a subwoofer to carry the low-end at higher volumes. The woofers on these speakers will distort with too much bass at too high of volumes. I trimmed back the bass on my receiver, connected a subwoofer... sounds excellent for the size of these speakers. Great volume and clarity.

When you're comparing speakers, you know you have to keep in mind the price tag. So, given the price tag on these speakers, they were perfect for my needs - a medium sized family room with vaulted ceilings.
I replaced my Klipsch Quintet SL speakers for the Left and Right front speakers and also purchased the matching R-52C center channel. My two rear speakers are still my trusty Klipsch Quintets, which are wall mounted a few feet above my head. Given the efficiency of Klipsch speakers, I have no problem blasting out the most challenging of movie soundtracks from my Onkyo 636 AVR from 2014. For bass, I have a Klipsch Sub-12 (12"). I also have two other 5.1 setups, all with Klipsch speakers. I buy them because they offer phenomenal sound clarity for the price and size. Plus, after years of beating on them, they are still flawless.
Now, some people do not like the perceived "brightness" of the horn tweeter that is a distinctive feature of the Klipsch brand. I understand this characteristic, but in practice it has everything to do with your listening room environment and less so with the speaker. The trick that works for me is to remove everything that can absorb sound from the room (like pillows, blankets, etc.) before running the AVR computer room calibration (e.g. AccuEQ, Audyssey, MCACC, YPAO, etc.) . If these speakers sound too bright/harsh to your ears, it might be more to do with room reflections, which are magnifying the higher frequencies/notes, e.g. windows, glass tabletops, leather furniture, etc. Also, these speakers are only as good as the original source material. Modern movie soundtracks should sound excellent, but some older movies, and especially CDs, may sound awful because they have artificially boosted highs. Note that switching to a more traditional dome tweeter might help or it might actually make things worse - because the dome tweeter is less directional and therefore has the potential to add to the room reflection issue. Trust me. I am the pickiest person I know when it comes to sound. I have always enjoyed Klipsch speakers (including these ) whether watching Blu-Rays, playing video games, listening to classical music or rock & pop. But, I'm no audiophile or speaker snob. IMO, these inexpensive bookshelf speakers are very capable, have good bass for the size, and are a great way to be introduced to the Klipsch brand before spending big bucks on the RP or RF series, or more expensive speakers from another brand. Just have fun with these speakers (for the price) and just think of them as a stepping stone to even better sound!

These upgraded our surround speakers from 80w and the difference is significant. Had to get new wall mount stands but should be expected going to a speaker nearly 3x the size. Great sound quality and I like they give the option to use bare wire or banana plugs.

You will be amazed by the sound of these speakers. Don't let their size fool you, they sound like huge floor standing speakers. Wired them to a Yamaha R-S700 Natural sound receiver as Left and Right channel speakers and let me tell you...they sound Awesome. Pair them with a Sub and you're set. Don't hesitate buying these, you won't regret it.

Nice bookshelf monitors, I use mine for my desktop set,
brings a nice level of quality to an otherwise digital setup.
Smooth reproduction, clear, precise, smooth (not boomy) low end.
Very nice overall audio reproduction, great price.
