Not a genius, but a pretty smart lock

I like that the bolt doesn't scream "smart lock, fancy stuff inside". I like that it was easy to install, easy to set up and easiest of all to use. I wish I had the ability to open the door at will remotely, incase I need to let someone in with a flip phone. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with the kevo lock, and for what I need it to do.

Love the ease of use with this lock. Simple installation. The only thing I would change is to have WIFI compatibility and Bluetooth. It would be nice to unlock or lock from anywhere.

This is a great lock and works wonders with my Samsung Note 4 Edge. However, it doesn't work at all with my girlfriends LG G3. In fact she was locked out of the house the first day because I was at work and her phone wouldn't install the app. If this product worked on more phones it would be a 5 star. The nice thing about this product is that it was easy to install and took maybe 30 minutes to do that and pair up my phone. From the outside the only way you can tell it's a smart lock is by the blue light circle. But no one has mentioned anything when they come over. The inside of the door isn't a bad design either. It's kind of tall, but not overly so. It adds to the door, it doesn't detract. I'm not sure on the battery life yet, but it's been just over a month and it's going strong. The only downside so far (on my phone) is the app ALWAYS is showing in my notification bar. Even when it's turned off. I haven't figured out how to get rid of it.

Installation was smooth a little disappointed that it's not supported with my moto x phone for direct pairing but really only a small amount of android are supported like samsung only but was able to get it on mine by sending an ekey from my wife's samsung phone. It's 1 one of the few smartlocks on the market that are near impossible to hack. it would be nice if they allowed more than 3 e keys but also comes with a fob and more are available I do plan to get the kevo plus as well that will allow remote access but so far that's only available online if it were a bundle option or can purchase at same time I'd certainly give 5 stars. battery life seems pretty good so far and I've been using it a lot When trying to install the kevo app from Google play store it states my device is not compatible and won't install so I downloaded from the internet and side loaded the app and works fine

This lock is very cool. It does have a handle that sticks however, which is why I am not rating it 5 stars. It lets me use a simple touch to open the door with my bluetooth enabled device nearby which is great. It's one less key that I have to use. I currently have 5 keys for my home for security purposes, but by the time, I get my front door, all I have to do is tap, watch the lights go and "Voila" it's opened! Down to 4 keys and pretty happy with the purchase.

This lock is great. Looks like a standard lock and craftsmanship is excellent . Fairly easy to install. Wish is came standard with Home WiFi connectivity to lock/unlock remotely. It's nice that I don't even have to take my phone out of my pocket, nor do I have to keep the iPhone app running in the background for it to allow me to open the lock. I like the option to be able to send a temporary digital key to someone and no additional cost as well as the affordable purchase of additional digital keys. Another feature I wish this lock had was a proximity sensor option that would unlock the lock automatically as I approached the door. Regardless, I would highly recommend this lock.

This installed relatively easily - and so far the batteries have held out pretty well. This is great for our family as everyone has a smart phone that they can leave in their pocket and still open the door. The biggest drawbacks are: 1. It took probably 7-8 seconds to unlock or lock the door (while not a long time it sure feels like a delay) 2. It is not compatible with Android (one of my sons has a Samsung - yep he's the black sheep among the rest of us iPhone users). So we had to buy him an electronic key - which he promptly lost...He's never lost his phone..

Helps get rid of all those keys in your pocket/purse! It was easy to set up too. Only thing I would change is the app. If I use the app instead of the single Bluetooth key included, you always have to log in. If they went to a faster log in (I.e a pattern or pin) it would be much better...

If it had just a tad more torque or speed, Id absolutely give it five stars. Installation was a breeze, and they did not scrimp on material quality or finish. I love the "across the room" LED letting you know if the deadbolt is in the locked or unlocked position as youre closing up for the night. Its about as cool as it reads, having your phone nearby is enough to give you access. Another con- you have to buy "keys" for your phone after your first two. SO a husband and wife gets one, but you have to pay for every other key after. For the money I paid for this item, I would have expected 4-6 keys before Im buying more. But you can set permissions for the keys, make them limited time of day use, etc.

Installed with out any problems. I was a little annoyed to find out I had to pay to add 3 or more users. Just $1.99 but was a little hidden detail. One word of caution: be sure you keep your Bluetooth source a safe distance from the door or anyone walking up can just touch your lock and enter. My wife relocated her resting place for her purse just to be safe. Very handy product.

We’re not in love with this but it works most of the time. It’s a good backup plan in case we ever forget our keys. Originally we bought it to use mainly for the Bluetooth but it’s a little finicky and I don’t care to stand at the door for a minute while the thing tries to unlock. I would say hat happens about 30% of the time and the rest of the time it works perfectly well. For the price would expect it to work a bit better. Have had it for a year now and the batteries just ran out, which is a good lifespan but you have to disconnect the main product in order to replace. Kind of a hassle

Whole family loves this. Kids use fobs in backpack to gain entry. Wife & I use iPhones. Send electronic keys to houseguests, and we get a notification when they arrive. I send them an instant text to welcome them to our home, seems a little creepy, then they realize I got info from Kevo lock, and they think it's even cooler. Experienced Nothing but great stuff from this. installed in the freezing cold. simple: 10 minutes. 4 screws. couldn't imagine the install would be hard for anyone unless they had an improperly installed deadbolt prior. Nothing but praises. Will update if anything goes wrong. company sent 5 additional free ekeys when I set-up lock. very cool Kwikset.

I originally started my keyless entry journey with a 10 button lock. I'm glad I upgraded to a Kevo. The Kevo works great with iPhone 5S/5 and there are virtually no problems. It unlocks within 2-3 seconds and saves me from pulling out my keys. Sometimes it can take a little longer, but generally gets it right 90% of the time. On the other hand, I have multiple problems locking/unlocking the door with the iPhone 5C. If I get it to lock/unlock on the first try, I feel lucky. Usually it takes 2-4 tries at 5-7 seconds between each try. Now that Kevo lets you have 7 eKeys, this works great for sending to family and friends, and then revoking once they no longer need access. The SmartKey option is great. I had problems getting it to change to my previous key. At one point, neither key worked. If you do a search on how to re-key a smart key, you can get back in business without having to go to a locksmith. There are a few things that would be nice to add to the feature set, such as restricting access to certain hours of the day, or allowing for remote unlock, but it's got a pretty solid set of features as is, and is firmware update-able. I'll definitely be buying another one in the future, but maybe when there is a price drop or a sale happens.

So far, this product only work for iPhone 4s to newer. They are developing for Android but only bata program for Android 5.0 Lollipop (L). I was replace to this key from keypad and work fine and just normal deadlock and easy to replace it or install it. There is physical key come with smart key. This is the problem. Kwikset smartkey is good invenstion to re-key without locksmith. However this mecanisme weeks lock mechanism. There are force T-bar for specialy Kwikset and it can open just few second. If you have iPhone and choose convinient. This is product for you. I choosed convenient, alarm system do the rest.

I read several reviews before settling on a motor driven lock. I had two primary wants in mind for this purchase: keyless entry and remote control. The Kevo lock satisfies both sufficiently. I like the fact that the appearance remains that of a standard deadbolt to the casual onlooker and retains said functionality. I like the capability to provide electronic keys to iOS and Android devices. I don't like that you have to pay for the electronic keys but it's a small pill to swallow for the convenience. Setup/installation was not much more challenging than any standard deadbolt replacement and the instructions were pretty good. As to the negatives, I'm not particularly happy that the remote control (internet) feature requires an additional $99 purchase but it does work quite well. In addition, the lock (as reported in many reviews) requires that the phone pretty much be facing it to function keyless. This can be inconvenient when approaching with hands full as I keep the phone in my back pocket. Again, a minor inconvenience but it has happened about 25% of the time when I use the keyless feature. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the purchase and would readily recommend it to those in search.

We've been using Kevo, with the added adapter for remote access, for almost 2 years now and I couldn't imagine going back to life without a smartlock. I am VERY forgetful so it wasn't even a question that we needed this for peace of mind. Now, as long as I have my smartphone, I don't carry keys when I walk out of my house and lock up remotely when I've forgotten to lock the door or am in a rush to catch an Uber. Unfortunately just buying this lock won't get you the functionality most people are looking for in a smartlock. You have to upgrade to Kevo Plus, which is an adapter that acts as a hub to connect the lock to wifi and allows smartphone access. We tried to go without this and it really limited the usefulness of this lock. Still, it's well worth the investment. We were looking at the August lock because it seemed like it had a better app interface and more intuitive user experience, but in the end we felt that Kwikset's of its history in home security left our home feeling more protected. That was important in a big city like Los Angeles where home burglaries are frequent. PROs: - Met our HOA aesthetic guidelines, you can't even tell it's Kevo - Easy to send/remove e-keys to visiting friends/family - Has a physical e-key fob for our less techy visitors - Remote locking/unlocking for service professionals like dog walkers CONs: - Occasionally takes a few tries to work. Usually happens when the smartphone is in lock screen mode - Remote access fails if your home is experiencing a blackout - If your smartphone dies, you're stuck outside - Amazon Alexa commands are patterned weirdly. If I wanted to spend time to fix this, it can be done but it's not worth the effort for me since we don't really use this
