Bike is fine. Best Buy customer service is an endless loop by a call center. I am returning my order because I am tired of the loop. I just wanted the promised promotional items. Store in Joplin Missouri will not answer the phone. Instead, they send calls to the same worthless call center. Again, bike is nice, it's a Best Buy issue.

I already have a full-size fat tire ebike that I love for cruising around our country roads. I had been looking for another small bike or scooter that was more compact and more utilitarian for short trips between my house and barn that could also carry buckets of horse feed, etc. This XP 3.0 seems to fit the bill perfectly, so I thought I’d try it out. It came with a rear rack, but I’ve ordered the front/rear baskets for hauling more cargo. Its 330lb capacity should be more than enough for my 200lbs plus any cargo I might want to carry. At 6’4” I’m probably too tall to comfortably ride it for long distances, but it’s fine for short trips. I also upgraded the seat to the “comfort package” which has a bigger, more cushioned seat with a suspension post. It’s kind of pricey, but it’s definitely an improvement over the stock seat. The bike does fold up pretty easily and is fairly compact. However, it’s still quite heavy. For someone my size, I can carry it around and put it in the back of the car, etc. But someone smaller who fits more comfortably on the bike, might have some trouble lugging it around. For example, my wife can roll it into a space, but can’t lift it up into a trunk or carry it up any stairs. Also, it doesn’t lock into place when it’s folded. It comes with a piece of Velcro that you can use to strap it together, but if you don’t do that it tends to flop around a bit and can crash into things (like your legs). I know they’re trying to keep the price down to make this an affordable ebike, but there are a few things that I think could be improved on it. The keyhole to turn the bike on, lock the battery, or remove it is on the underneath side of the battery and frame which is a pretty awkward location to reach. You pretty much have to find the key slot by feel. Also, with it underneath like that, any water or mud that you might ride through gets thrown up by the wheel into that exact spot. It does come with a headlight and taillight which is nice. The headlight seems bright enough to ride safely the couple of times I’ve tried it. The taillight, however, is just a taillight and not a brake light. It would have been nice to have it light up when braking even in the daytime when the headlight isn’t on. When riding with others, it’s a nice feature to see when someone is hitting the brakes in front of you. The bike has 7 gears which is nice when you’re pedaling at different speeds. However, the shifting isn’t the smoothest compared to other bikes I’ve ridden. It’s sort of a ratchet system, and a couple of times I’ve forgotten which way to push/pull the lever to downshift and accidentally pulled it down several gears at once. I guess with time I’ll learn and that’ll become more natural. Probably my biggest issue so far with the bike has been its brakes. The hydraulic disc brakes are a great feature; however the discs came badly out of round, a problem I assume happened during shipping. I’ve tried to adjust them as best as possible by hand so they don’t rub on the brake pads, but I’ve had to order a special tool that I hope will work better so I can get them to stop rubbing on the pads completely. Both brakes also make a horrible squeaking/squealing sound when braking. Before using them, I cleaned off the discs with rubbing alcohol like they recommended, but they still make a lot of noise. I was hoping after a week of use they would be better, but so far they haven’t improved. My other ebikes with hydraulic brakes don’t do this, so I’m hoping I can figure out the issue with these. I do like the twist throttle on this bike. It’s very easy to use and intuitive compared to throttles on other ebikes I’ve used. It also has cruise control. You can hit the minus key when you have the throttle turned to the speed you want to maintain, then let go of the throttle. You can cancel it by tapping either brake. There are also a lot of settings you can tweak in the menu. Go to the Lectric support page and download the owner’s manual for the instructions and codes to use. Some of the more useful settings are unlocking the Class 3 mode to go up to 28mph instead of 20mph. But you can also adjust the display screen brightness, change the distance units between miles and kilometers, and things like the pedal assist sensitivity. The PAS sensitivity is how far you have to rotate or crank the pedals before the assist kicks in. The default is 3, but if the lag bothers you, you can lower the number to have pedal assist engage faster. For my size, I’m not sure I’d like to go on 30-mile trips on this bike, but as a pack mule around my acreage I think it’s going to be great. It’s compact so I can tuck it out of the way in the garage yet still have it handy for quick trips. I can also put it in the back of the car or truck if I need to take it somewhere else to ride. And once I get the cargo baskets for it, I expect I’ll be hauling lots of different things on it that I probably would have been walking and carrying otherwise. It’s going to save me a lot of time and make the horse feeding chores more fun!

I recently took the Lectric eBike - XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long Range on a trip to the Oregon Coast, to the beautiful Rockaway Beach area. This adventure proved to be the perfect testing ground for this ebike, showcasing its amazing build quality and overall functionality through a variety of environments and situations. Prior to leaving for the trip, I had to make sure everything was working. Unboxing the bike was easy, as it’s shipped put together; there’s little to do to get the bike up and running. Take some foam out, remove some tags/zip ties, charge the battery, and you’re pretty much good to go. I tested everything out before embarking on my vacation, and no issues. Upon arriving at Rockaway Beach, I was eager to put the XP Step-Thru 3.0 to the test. Unfolding the bike is easy, and I immediately appreciated the solid construction and thoughtful design. The first thing that caught my eye was the beefy tires, which promised a stable and smooth ride across various terrains. As I set off along the scenic coastal paths, the bike’s turning radius impressed me; it was surprisingly nimble for its size, making navigation through narrow trails and sharp turns effortless. The real fun began when I took the XP Step-Thru 3.0 onto the sandy shores of Rockaway Beach. I was a bit skeptical about how it would handle the sand, but my concerns quickly vanished. The bike’s powerful motor and robust tires made riding on the sand feel almost like gliding. It tackled the soft and uneven surface with ease, allowing me to enjoy the stunning coastal views without worrying about getting stuck. That isn’t to say you can’t get stuck if you throw the power down too much too fast, but this was mainly a non-issue. One of the standout features of the XP Step-Thru 3.0 is the ease of charging. After a full day of riding along the coast and exploring the charming town, charging the bike was simple. I loved not having to remove the battery; I just plugged it in and let it charge overnight. I was able to get 45 miles on a single charge which I thought was amazing. This was mainly used with a standard Pedal Assist of 1 and turning off when coasting, but I fully believe on a single charge you’d be able to get 26 miles (as advertised) of range when throttle-only. I was also really impressed with the brakes themselves. They use hydraulic brakes with rotos/pads means no issues when needing to brake, and stopping power is very sufficient even for the heavy bike itself. While the bike’s performance and convenience were top-notch, there were a couple of minor downsides. The XP Step-Thru 3.0 is quite heavy, which I noticed especially when lifting it into my car. Additionally, even when folded, it still takes up a considerable amount of space. However, these were small compromises considering the bike’s exceptional capabilities. Overall, my experience with the Lectric eBike - XP Step-Thru 3.0 Foldable at Rockaway Beach was fantastic. Its sturdy build, excellent functionality, and ability to handle various terrains made it the perfect companion for my coastal adventure. Despite its weight and size, the bike’s performance and ease of use more than made up for these minor drawbacks. If you’re looking for a reliable and versatile eBike, the XP Step-Thru 3.0 is a stellar choice.

I've been an eBike admirer from afar so I was excited to be able to review the Lectric XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long-Range eBike. After using the bike for about 50-ish miles, I think it's a great bike that doesn't have too many drawbacks. Set up was simple after removing the insane amount of protective wrapping from the bike, but it was as simple as putting the handle bars in place, unfolding and latching the mid-frame and connecting the cable to make everything work. A couple adjustments of screws and bolts to make sure things were how I liked them and I was done. I plugged it in and let if charge up overnight. The next day, I had no real plan to do anything except to ride around downtown and get a feel for the bike. Unfortunately, the bike came with no instruction manual in the box so I pulled up the PDF on my phone and gave it a look. Figured out how to turn it on and the found out how all the different modes worked and unlocked the full Class 3 capabilities of 28mph.I'm willing to take the range hit as I'll never need to go anywhere that would require me need the range or not stay anywhere that I can't readily charge it. Immediately disliked the fact that the "ignition" is under the frame, as it's awkward and easy to forget your key in the bike. But getting to my first ride after walking it to the road from 4th floor apartment, you could see how maybe a smaller person would struggle with the size and weight of the bike. Luckily, there is a Walk Mode to assist with walking with the bike, but it tends to move at the pace of a light jog. But getting to actually riding, it was pretty straight forward, the throttle on the right handle bar, along with the Shimano 7 speed gear selector. The controller on the left to control the center display which is bright and legible in direct sunlight. Get going with the pedals and twist the throttle to get you up to speed. Slowing down with the disc brakes felt a little lacking so after some more riding I've learned to slow down a bit farther to ensure I don't squirt out into cross traffic. The ride was fine, the front fork suspension did its job soaking up the pavement imperfection, wider/thicker tires/wheels probably would have had the same effect of the suspension and probably saved on cost. The seat took a few miles to break in and it is pretty narrow. Overall, my first ride was more of me getting to know its capabilities, my capabilities and how I would fit it into my life/routine. After a few more rides I was getting the hang of the bike and enjoying just being out and about. I have a few accessories on the way from Lectric to make my rides and uses a little better as I'll be utilizing it run errand around the city and small to medium grocery runs to save me utilizing my EV. Overall, it's a great bike and incredibly well built and if Lectric released a Cafe-styled e-Bike, I'd drop my own money on it.

Great Class 2 or 3 eBike with Cruse Control

The XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long-Range is a great eBike for me with an excellent feature set and great add-on options. Design The frame has a low, step-thru design, as advertised. I find it very easy to step through at this height. The frame feels solid. I like the design of the hand grips too, they kind of flair out under your palm. The rear cargo rack is welded to, and really part of, the frame. The feels firm but comfortable for me. While I think it's on the firm side the size is big enough to distribute weight well which I think makes it comfortable. There is a center mounted display with the controls for it mounted by the left hand grip. The gear shift is by the right hand grip, and the throttle is a grip/twist throttle on the inner part of the right hand grip. There's a head light, a red light in the back under the seat, and the display is back-lit. I like the black bike with blue writing and accents. The back rack of the bike can hold up to 150 lbs and the total bike weight limit, rider and rack, is 330 lbs. Handle bars and the seat have quick releases as well as the axles. The pedals also fold for better storage. The bike folds well. You kind of need to watch moving parts like pedals and the clasp as you fold it, but folding works well. There's a Velcro strap that's included which is a huge help to hold the bike tires together when folded. Use this on the inside of the bike tires and it seems to hold everything together safely, making it easier to lift. The handle, built into the frame, is a huge help for folding and lifting. Controls There are three buttons to control the display and electronics, a "+", "-", and a power button. Power is also used as mode, or to change screens. Plus and minus are used to change the Petal Assist power. The Power button will toggle through these displays at the bottom: - Odometer - Trip A, this resets when the bike is turned off, there is no Trip B - Voltage, Battery Voltage - Current, Current being used from the battery - Trip Timer The battery level and speed are always displayed as well as if the lights are on and the petal assist setting. You can also, separately, toggle the current speed to average or max using "+" and the power button. The voltage and current displays can give extra insight into how strong the battery is and how quickly it's being used but the battery indicator has 10 levels/dots and I think is very good by itself. Throttle Features You can use the throttle by twisting the inside part of the right handle grip. I was glad to see that it's not just on or off, but you can go at different speeds depending on how far to twist it. Even better, there is a "Cruse Control" you can use to keep it at a given speed when you use the throttle so you can release the throttle once it's set. Just hold the "-" while you twist the throttle. Cruse Control is stopped when you use the break. I tested this and really like having the cruse control. It also has a walking mode (just hold down "-"), which works well too and it made for you to be able to walk your bike with less effort. Riding the XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long-Range I'm loving riding this bike! For me the twist throttle took some getting used to but works well. Most of the time I use the petal assist, which I think has a good feel. Sometimes it feels like it's pushing but a lot of times it's more like it's helping me, or like I'm stronger than I am. I had 13.5 mile ride on a rail trail and was excellent! I've also done lots of hills. The petal assist makes a huge difference on hills and just works well for everything else. I've been on paved road as well as grass and dirt trails. I still get a great workout using the petal assist, I just cover a lot more ground, which is more fun for me! By changing the default setting which restricts the petal assist to 20 MPH, I was able to have it help me up to 28 MPH and I actually got up to 32 MPH, I was impressed! The manual does note that if you change this setting, it becomes a Class 3 eBike and you need to remove the class 2 eBike sticker. You can change it back though. The bike feels solid and well made as I ride. The front oil suspension is great and the hydraulic disc brakes also work great. I hit some bad bumps and the front suspension handled them well. The brakes were excellent, even going down very steep hills. With the Long Range version of this bike I was able to do a huge amount of biking, using throttle as well as a lot of pedal assist. From 1 bar left it took about 6 or 7 hours to charge Make sure to check the settings in the manual. There are a lot of settings you can adjust, like the max pedal assist speed as I mentioned above but also things like the sensitivity of the pedal assist. Summary The XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long-Range seems to be a well made eBike with a lot of features! The only thing I think could be helpful that it doesn't seem to have is a Trip B function, as I would like to be able to track a whole ride as well as part of it here and there - at the same time. But it has everything else I could think of and more. I haven't used it a ton but I love the Cruse Control for the throttle and expect that to come in handy. Lectric also makes a lot of accessories for it that could be very useful. There's a seat with handle bars and pegs that I think would be a great add-on as well as different kinds of baskets and holders. You can even get a seat with more padding that includes a new seat post that has suspension built-in. If you're looking for an eBike that is well made, with components like oil suspension and hydraulic brakes, and has a lot of features and options, I think the XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long Range is a great option!

My husband and I both got XP 3.0s about a month ago and have been loving taking them out for evening and weekend rides. They were easy to set up out of the box and we love that they're foldable so we can pack them up in the back of his truck to bring along on trips out of town. We both love walking, but it's been such a fun change of pace exploring cities on our new eBikes.
