XRP (& More) Holder Loving My New Wallet!

I am a long-time XRP holder, along with various other cryptocurrencies. I have had numerous crypto wallets over the years. Whether that was digital wallets on various exchanges (like Coinbase or Binance) and hardware wallets too. I have seen the changes over the past few years from the very basic wallets to the really advanced wallets. I have had some that had just a couple buttons & it made navigating them and inputting characters an absolute chore. No more with the Ledger Flex wallet!
I have my cryptocurrency spread out over multiple wallets so that way if I lose one then all is not lost as I have more in other wallets, in other locations. All of which are outlined in my Will (along with how to access them). My family knows where to find my Will, which will then outline who gets what, and from where. It really is a must to do this, or similar, nowadays. Enough about the backstory, what about the device?
I absolutely love this crypto wallet-Flex by Ledger. I'll go over it more in-depth below but that is the short of it: I just love it!
First Impressions
The packaging of the Flex is sleek, just like the device itself. I was able to have the device completely set up in a matter of minutes. It was intuitive and easy to use. The screen is super cool. I've seen reviews for phones with e-ink screens and I found it to be super cool. Sure, you can't game or watch YouTube or something on the phone screen but for something like this, a crypto wallet, it seems e-ink was just made for this type of scenario. It reminds me of the old graphing calculators I used in middle school and high school. It had me feeling nostalgic.
Rating: 5/5
Build Quality
I've already touched on the screen a little bit above, and so I won't go into it too much further than to just say I really love it. But the build quality of the Flex feels very nice. It has a nice weight to it, without being too heavy. It has a nice feel to it, without feeling bulky. It fit perfectly in my hand & the touch screen was perfectly responsive while looking and feeling premium.

Easy of Use
Receiving crypto was a breeze. I sent crypto to the wallet from my Coinbase wallet & found myself just playing around with the device because I love the screen (I know, I'm back on the e-ink screen again, sorry). It truly feels like the best hardware wallet I've laid my hands on thus far. It is such an easy device to use that I believe I am going to replace all my hardware wallets with the Ledger Flex. Because I want my family to be able to easily use the device when I am no longer around & have left them my assets. I think that is something that us tech geeks forget about. When we go to leave it to our family are they really going to be able to use it? Or is someone going to have to do it for them? And can we trust that person to do it for them without doing something nefarious? This device makes me believe that even my elderly mother could figure out how to get the crypto currency sent out somewhere. Seriously, it is that intuitive!
Rating: 5/5
Conclusion:
I know I spoke a lot of about the e-ink screen, but I really & truly love it and am in awe of it. It isn't a 4k or 8k screen, heck it doesn't even have color so it shouldn't be that impressive, but it truly is. And the ease of use just blows me away. Going from a two-button hardware wallet to a full touch screen is simply a blessing I didn't even think about it until it struck me this time that I need to make this easy for my family to use when I am gone. That is the main thing for me. And something I now will be planning to rectify but not online detailing how to use the hardware wallet but also replacing my older wallets with the Ledger Flex.

I will get into some details below, but to briefly sum my thoughts up, I think this is a fantastic wallet that generally does everything I need or want it to, well, and simply has a great design.
The first thing I noticed, naturally, was that design. It is somewhat of a rare thing these days to come across a device that surprises me. This did. Between the size, look, and use of e-ink I was a little “wow”ed. Certainly different from a lot of the keys, sticks, and the like with very tiny screens, hard to push buttons, etc… that have been the norm in this space for some time. I love this shape and form factor.
Beyond just the look, the build is, well, solid. I think it is the perfect size for what it is, it is a nice weight, and it just “feels good in the hand.” I don’t plan on tossing it around, really, but I think it should take a bit of a beating and hold up over time.
While all of this is important to me, it really means nothing if the wallet itself does not excel in being a wallet. I can easily say I have no concerns here. To be clear, while a lot of my holdings are simple (and modest), I found everything a breeze to do. Set-up, managing, transferring, and transacting were all easy, intuitive, and simple to execute. They support many assets, exchanges, and third parties. I have to think just about everyone will be pleased here. As for security, having a cold wallet is already good for peace of mind, but I think Ledger does a really thorough job here with regards to software, information, prompts, and processes. It seems like a priority and an emphasis, which I really appreciate.
In use? It would probably be a bit much to say it is a joy, but given some of my prior experiences, maybe not that much. It really is the e-ink that does it for me. Very clear, a good choice for what is needed here, and pulls very little power, extending the life of the battery. Both in charge frequency and battery health. Yes, there is a small amount of lag, but the screen is quite responsive. Sure, I would love a backlight, but it is not really a need for me. All in all, I love it. On its own, and comparatively. It can display lots of data and it is easy to act on that data. Really, that is what I am looking for.
Ultimately, as I suppose is clear, I really like this wallet. It is secure, reliable, easy to use, well built, and just looks great. Additionally, battery life has been outstanding (so far, time will tell), there are a few little extras, and I think Ledger will support it going forward. You do pay up a bit for all of this, but I do really think the value is there for everything it provides.

Having dabbled in crypto here and there I have always found it hard to find the best way to keep digital assets secure, all in one place, and yet still easily accessible when you need them for transactions. The Ledger Flex definitely solves some of those issues and makes it easy to transact crypto with a hardware wallet that is dedicated strictly to keeping assets secure yet giving you the ability to use a variety of platforms to actually do the transactions (computer, phone, tablet, etc.).
Setup of the wallet is a breeze right out of the box. Just turn it on after setting up the app or the PC Ledger application and follow the prompts. Write down the backup phrases and put them in a safe deposit box at a bank with a note of what they go to so you can recover your wallet in the event it's lost, stolen or damaged. It's super important to keep it safe and follow the recommendations. The service that Ledger offers for backing up is great but I think the most secure method is the paper method with a deposit box at a bank.
Once setup, it's easy to setup new hardware wallets for each kind of crypto asset you have and secure. The app requires you to pair the wallet with it each time you want to make an actual transaction. It's pretty smooth an easy to use in terms of hardware wallets whether it's just to hold assets or trade them and Ledger has streamlined this wallet to be strictly that so as not to compromise it's security but adding things to it that your phone can handle instead. The only thing I wish that the hardware wallet had was an option for either a code or a fingerprint reader (or both), to make the transaction process smoother for those that want it. The pin or passcode is likely more secure but perhaps Ledger could add an option to unlock with a code (like before you go shopping) and that unlock lasts a user specified period of time that will allow a fingerprint to unlock the device for transactions and then after that time elapse it would then again require the unlock code. Anyway something like this would make it easier to do transactions when you know you'll be making one and still keep the wallet secure.
Either way though, this thing is awesome and there's nothing like it that makes it clean, simple and easy to maintain hardware wallets for the major crypto currencies out there. Ledger also seems to be ready to support additional so your investment in this wallet is also ready for the future through updates that could enable more functionality or other currencies. If you have any crypto or are just getting into it, this is well worth the investment for a number of reasons and I'd absolutely recommend this one!

Ledger has been around as long as you really can be around in the crypto space. Their products are great, offering us consumers a cold storage option for digital assets. Anyone who does not trust exchanges will want this. The latest Ledger Flex does all of what the previous ledgers provided while making it even easier to interface with. I have the Ledger Nano X I only mention it in the review because functionality the devices offer you the same things. The Ledger Flex gives you a nice screen to work with and this can assist with those with bad eyes. Crypto in general has a learning curve, but the guide and explanation via the Ledger website (App for desktop) can assist with that. The way I tend to use ledger is as a hardware key that is required before funds will be transferred on a web wallet like meta mask or Coinbase wallet. Ledger does provide their own desktop app. This application allows you to connect to their exchange and also bridges. if you need to bridge ERC-20 tokens from one network to another. There is nothing locking you into the ledger ecosystem. You can use their software or just use this as an additional hardware key for authenticating transactions or use it as your wallet itself. It is a good product. If this is something you will keep in an office or safe. Go with the Ledger Flex. If you want portability. Nothing wrong with the Ledger Flex. However, Ledger does provide smaller solutions for being on the go. Security is important. Cold Storage gives you all the responsibility of safe keeping.

Secure, easy-to-use crypto hardware wallet

With the continuing evolution and prevalence of crypto currencies in today’s economy, the need for a safe, secure wallet to store crypto has never been more important and the Ledger - Flex Crypto Hardware Wallet does a great job of fulfilling this crucial role.
Any time money is being invested in something, it is important to make sure that the investment is secure and not at risk of being stolen whether it be something physical or digital. When crypto currencies are purchased, if you intend on keeping what is purchased for an extended amount of time rather than selling them, it is best not to leave them sitting on the exchange they were purchased from because there are ways for thieves to access your account and steal your crypto and once it is gone, there is usually no way to get it back.
If you aren’t familiar with using crypto hardware wallets, there is no need to worry or be intimidated when it comes to setting up and using the Ledger – Flex. The setup process was very easy thanks to the step-by-step guide that pops up when you first turn on the Flex. Using the Flex in conjunction with the Ledger Live app on my smartphone made everything simple and I am very impressed with just how easy Ledger has made everything.
Aside from securely storing my crypto, one of the other things I really like about the Ledger – Flex is how it can be used as a two-factor authenticator for things like email accounts and even some exchanges. The ability to use NFC for this purpose makes it relatively easy to better secure these important accounts.
Overall, I am very impressed with the Ledger - Flex Crypto Hardware Wallet and I highly recommend it!

Ledger Flex Review – The Ultimate Crypto Security

As someone who takes crypto security seriously, I was eager to test the Ledger Flex. With its E Ink touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, and ultra-slim form factor, it’s a big step forward from traditional hardware wallets.
Unboxing & Design: Right out of the box, the Flex feels premium—thin, lightweight, and built with a matte graphite finish that resists fingerprints. The E Ink display is crisp and power-efficient, though its refresh rate is a bit slow.
Setup & Performance: Getting started was straightforward. I connected via Bluetooth and USB-C, set up a PIN and recovery phrase, and paired it with Ledger Live. Transactions require on-device approval, adding a critical layer of security missing in software wallets. Bluetooth functionality works well, though I still prefer USB for maximum security.
Battery & Security: The battery life is impressive, lasting days on a charge. Unlike online wallets, private keys never leave the device, reducing the risk of hacks and phishing attacks.
Pros: Ultra-portable, highly secure, great battery life, easy setup.
Cons: No physical buttons, E Ink lag, premium price (~$200).
Final Verdict: If you’re serious about crypto security, the Ledger Flex is one of the best hardware wallets available today. It’s a smart investment for long-term holders who want top-tier protection without sacrificing convenience.

The Perfect Hardware Wallet

I've owned a ledger nano before this Ledger Flex and while it checked every box for security, I always felt the UI navigation was a little difficult and wasn't a huge fan of the limited apps you could install due to the small memory size. This new Ledger Flex fixes so much of that, it might be my new favorite hardware wallet.
From a security perspective you get all the features you'd expect from Ledger and the benefits of a hardware wallet. You're keys belong to you and are not storedon the internet somewhere.
On the design side it feels very well made and sturdy. The e ink display is easy to use and it is the perfect size to fit in your hand. The display is crisp and I really liked being able to set a background to whatever picture or NFT I wanted.
This wallet supports desktop via wired connection and Bluetooth to the mobile app. I really liked the addition of Bluetooth access on this device since it made transacting on mobile so much easier.
Overall this is a superb hardware wallet that makes using a hardware wallet so much more approachable than almost any other wallet out there.

I got to say I was a little disappointed in this product. I don’t have that much cryptocurrency, but there is not a lot of documentation to assist you into migrating your cryptocurrency safely into the air-gapped crypto wallet. In fact, I found that the warnings stating that your cryptocurrency could be lost in the ether forever if you choose one of the wrong block chains, very daunting and made me not want to use the wallet at all. The concept and build quality of this wallet is superb. I understand why it exists. I am just not completely versed on how to safely use it. I would imagine that someone fully vested into the cryptocurrency zeitgeist would have a little better experience than I did. I do really like the etch-o-sketch look of the display and the sheer battery life of this wallet is amazing. I have yet to run it down and I’m sure much of that credit goes to the display technology. I may revisit this wallet and test it on a few alt coins before sending the lion’s share. Right now there’s too much risk involved for me to use this wallet. If the manufacturer is listening, I think you have a great product, but since we’re on the frontier of cryptocurrency, there’s going to need to be a little more handholding necessary for users to fully adopt a digital wallet.

This is a good device with a few things keeping it from being great. First and foremost is storage size. You just cant add that many chains to it do to its limited storage size, this wont seem like an issue at first to many newer investors, but will slowly become one. Second why is there no wireless charging? This is an glaring feature omission for something so light and small especially at this price!

Might i add, It also has lithium battery n products always improve, if it is supposed to keep track of your ledger n over time battery goes bad n memory gets full. Like the cell phone always make the American ppl buy new n more. Also, these products doesnt say where they are manufactured. N we are supposed to trust this device. Originally that was the purpose for the i-phone. Security! Enough Said!
