The wallet is small and very well built. It is 2.5 inches long and a little bit more than half an inch wide. It has a usb-c port, 2 buttons on top and a LCD display. The LCD display is a bit larger than the Nano S.
It is also very easy to start using the wallet, the instruction is very easy to follow, it guides you step by step with explanation. It treats your security very seriously.
During the step to generate 24 recovery phrases, it made you double confirm the recovery phrases.
Once you selected a pin, it will prompt you to add account or install application, there is application for bitcoin, ethereum and many other application for popular coins. However, it does not seems to support IOTA.
In the box, it comes with 3 recovery sheets, usb-c cable, quick start guide and a key ring. The 3 recovery sheets is for you to record down the 24 phrases. You need the usb-c cable to connect the Nano S Plus to your computer. To use the Nano S Plus such as send or receive crypto, you have to run the Ledger Live application on your computer with the Nano S Plus connected to your computer.
As a safety feature, even when connecting the Nano S Plus to Ledger Live app, the private key is still offline so hacker online won't be able to get to your private key. The Nano S Plus does not store the actual crypto, it only store the private key to your crypto.

Overall
For a long time, I was on the fence about moving off to a hardware wallet. But over the last several years I’ve been adopting better credential hygiene that has made the change absolutely simple. Gone are the days I’ll be using a big name broker to store my crypto anymore. In the box, Ledger includes generic instructions pointing you to the Ledger website, a booklet holding 3 sheets for storing your seed on, more instructions with the same information as the first sheet but translated to about 10 different languages, a care guide, stickers, a keychain strap, a short USB cable, and the Nano S Plus. If I’m being honest, the fob itself feels rather thin. Plugging it into the included USB to connect it to the Ledger Live app was also unpleasant as it wouldn’t seat. I had to really push on them to get them to connect and power up. The first time I disconnected them was about the same as well, which caused me to drop the Nano.
Setup
Setting up was simpler than I thought. Although I will add that the language used on the Ledger site didn’t make it clear that I needed to download the Ledger app to my computer. It made it seem like installing the smartphone app was all you needed with the Nano S.
After grabbing the Ledger app you’re asked to plug in the Nano. Then you’ll go through a series of prompts to setup a pin for the Nano using the 2 buttons on the edge of the body followed by recording the seed phrase, a 24 word recovery key. Once complete you’ll be ready to install your first dApp and begin receiving your crypto from other addresses. With the added companion app for your smartwatch you can have all your assets at a flip of the wrist.
Conclusion
Despite the stiff plugs, the pros for the Nano outweigh any negatives. It offers superb security and a great convenience. Just be sure to move your seed to something more sturdy or make multiple copies and safeguard them. Take back control over your assets and reclaim your keys with the Nano.

Like it or not, cryptocurrency is here. And it is not going away. We aren’t trading seashells, or stones, or gold, or even cutting coins to give someone their change (that’s not a joke…) anymore for a reason. Countries are adopting cryptocurrency as their official currency. It has now infiltrated my working day as there are now 401(k) meetings provided by companies revolving around nothing but crypto. Even Fidelity is on the brink of adding Bitcoin as an investment option to their 401(k) plans this year.
What Ledger offers is a personal hardware key to a wallet you can only open with that key. The whole setup process was straight forward and as cumbersome as you would expect any effort to secure an asset of value. The software suggests setting aside 30 minutes to get the initial setup completed. I suggest an hour to get some tangible results that will ease your mind. Transfer of assets can take time and you are at the mercy of who is processing the request.
I strongly suggest writing down the security key words down in a very legible fashion. Just keep them off all electronic devices if possible. It’s the very backbone of the security feature of this wallet. This wallet can’t be broken or cracked without those words, in that very specific order. Just ask the guy who can’t remember his and has loads of Bitcoin (millions of $ equivalent, easily) stored on a drive he is running out of guesses before it is forever locked. I can’t stress the importance of this part enough. Take. Your. Time. Figure out where you want to keep this information, who you trust with it, etc. before you start this process. It’s not difficult. It’s just that important.
I currently own cryptocurrency in a few different platforms. Venmo, Coinbase, Robinhood and now my first cold storage wallet offered in the Ledger Nano S Plus. There are some important very distinctions between every one of those that should be understood.
Venmo is not a wallet currently. It’s simply a place you can purchase it and exchange it amongst others just like you do with any other currency. What you will find is their fees are extremely high. You pay a fee to Venmo and pay the network fee required by the cryptocurrency you’re moving. I also can not move any of my crypto assets to a Ledger as it is not a wallet. It costs more money to buy and move cryptocurrency there than it does American Dollars. And that kind of defeats the purpose of the advantage of crypto to begin with.
Coinbase is a wallet, and you can transfer your cryptocurrency assets from Coinbase to your Ledger.
I was an early adopter of Robinhood’s crypto wallet offering and really wanted to give transferring some of my assets to my Ledger a shot just because their interface is so good and easy to use.
It’s important to understand that your initiated transfer may not show up in your Ledger wallet immediately. You are at the mercy of the brokerage firm/wallet who is processing the request. How they go about doing so varies as does the speed. Robinhood took roughly 20 minutes from submitting each of three transfer requests. All I had to do was pay the network fee required by the asset. And yes, moving $DOGE is that cheap. It’s real cheap. Those days paying insanely high fees to move money is about to be over. And it costs just the same to send it right to your cold storage Ledger wallet.
After setting this up for myself, I strongly recommend having a cold storage solution for those with digital assets that want to set some aside they want to kind of forget about. Be warned though. It can’t get hacked, but it can get lost.

Summary: A great tool for anyone who wants full control of their crypto in an easy to manage digital wallet. This device will make your crypto far more secure from cyber attacks.
Pros:
Easy to carry
Small size
Good desktop / mobile apps
Massive amount of supported coins
Cons:
Only works when connected via USB
If lost, you’re out of luck
Two buttons to do everything
Unboxing / build quality:
Opening the device will provide you with the ledger, a dongle, a USB-A to USB-C cable, documentation, booklets to remember your security words. I was surprised that the device looks quite premium with a modern industrial design. It does feel a little more on the cheap side though as the majority of the device is plastic and mine actually squeaks a little bit when I fold it shut. The metal cover looks nice with a brushed metal design.
Setup:
Setup is a little different than most devices as you are not “pairing” it with anything. You can use a mobile app or desktop (PC or Mac) to set it up. I decided to set it up with a PC to have access to the keyboard if needed. While setting up, you will setup a 4-8 digit pin. The more digits the better but beware that you only have two buttons so it might take you some time to enter a long PIN. You will also write down your security words in one of the provided booklets… DO NOT LOSE THIS as this is your ability to recover your account if you ever lose your PIN. If you lose this, your crypto is gone forever should you forget your PIN or break your device.
After initial setup, you will load crypto “apps” into the device. To test it out, I started with Bitcoin and Ethereum. Installation is simple, “push” the app over to it from the desktop or phone, then acknowledge it on the device and you are gtg with a secure address you can send your crypto to on the device. As far as I can tell you are supposed to send/receive while the ledger is connected to your main device as it provides you with the encryption needed to withdraw and to verify the correct address to receive money. This can be a slow process but it is more secure.
Coin support:
It supports so many coins. That vast majority were supported when I tried to set it up with the only two I have that did not have native support being Monero and Cardano. There is support within the desktop app but you need to use another program to tie it to the ledger as it is not natively supported to be managed via the Ledger Live app. Their website says Cardano is coming down the road but there is no date set. If you set it up with the 3rd party Cardano/Monero apps it works similarly to the aforementioned processes with the native supported coins. You can also buy coins directly from some 3rd parties such as Coinify through the Ledger Live app.
Overall:
I like this device… it is a bit unwieldy and cumbersome to use but it consolidates your crypto into one place. This is better in my opinion as the popular websites which maintain your crypto could tank and you would end up losing your holdings. This is a non-issue with the ledger life.
My only complaints that I took away stars for are the cheapish build quality and the two buttons. It really needs a better interface than two buttons. Last, there should be some ability to turn it on without being connected to your phone or laptop.

Cryptocurrencies are entering our life rapidly and proper security is essential for a crypto success. Web sites get broken into, computers crash and get infected, phones get lost. How would you make sure your crypto stash is safe? This little device is meant to help with that. It's not like a flash drive to store your private key, it's really a small Hardware Security Module that generates your private key once and never lets it get out of the device itself, with the exception of 24 words security phrase that can be used to restore your access. This device will digitally sign your transactions (that your authorize by pressing both buttons on the device at the same time) but would never expose your key to the outside world so it can't be stolen.
What if you loose the device? First of all - it's protected by 4 to 8 digit PIN code that you setup as a first step and 3 incorrect attempts would wipe out the entire device (so don't give it to young kids unless you want to test your recovery procedures). However if it really gets lost or wiped out - you have to be sure that you stored that 24 word seed phrase securely (in a safe, deposit box, or other safe place). Don't store it electronically on your computer as if anyone gets this 24 word phrase - they essentially have a full control of your wallet.
Device is equipped with 1.29Mb of on-board memory that allows you to pick multiple crypto wallets to safely store (1 wallet takes from 50Kb to about a 100Kb worth of storage), there is no onboard battery (so it won't go bad or overheat in the sun), which means USB-C connection to a computer is required to operate your secure wallet.
Would I recommend going thru a hustle of setting up a hardware wallet? I would say yes if you are serious about crypto and storing any significant amount in crypto assets (tokens, coins, NFTs). Just make sure to store that 24 word phrase real good. It does make transfers a little less convenient (receiving crypto is not affected) - but it makes it almost impossible to steal crypto from you.

It's a sign of the times when you're carrying money you can't see on basically what looks like a flash drive, and not money you can touch and put into a physical wallet.
The new Nano S Plus Crypto Wallet is about the size of a small thumb drive, protected by a nice brushed aluminum sleeve that swivels open to display the small black and white digital LCD screen. It has two buttons on the side above the screen that allows you to select and go through all of the prompts and controls.
It powers up by USB Type C plug which is a short one is included. Nicely made though and braided. It also comes with an attachable key ring with a small sort of wrist strap although it's not big enough to go around my hand or wrist. It also comes with a small folder that includes three secret recovery sheets for you to write your twenty-four code words in order down.
Those code words are very important because they are thee only way to recover your digital assets if you lose or damage the Nano or in the case that you forget your pin. So I'd definitely put them in a safe and protected place.
So setting up everything isn't too bad, the screen itself is tiny, but once you download the app for the computer to complete everything once setting and confirming all of your 24 security words on the Nano, working with the app is much easier.
You can choose which apps to download and use. You can read the market and see how things are going as well as keep tabs on your own portfolio. You can send and receive crypto currencies as well and buy and sell.
It's not limited to just US currency or language as well as what region you're in, once going into the settings on the Ledger Live app it allows you to really personalize things to fit your personal needs.
One thing is I use Coinbase and Robinhood for all of my cryptocurrency needs and neither of these were an option as far as apps to use with the Nano or LedgerLive.
Over all it's a pretty cool concept but for me it's a little too small and hard to read personally. I'd recommend to others interested in the concept of what this does.

Ledger’s Nano-S Plus is a digital wallet built on a thumb drive that is designed to interface on Web3 by securing cryptocurrencies through the interaction of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT). Through the use of their Ledger Live app, the user can Buy, Send & Receive, Exchange, Grow and Sell Crypto directly and securely from the Nano S Plus drive.
Setting up the system is a four-step process. First the Nano S Plus needs to be activated and checked for security. Once connected to the computer with the provided cable, the Nano S Plus allows the user to set a pin code. The pin code is the only way to open the account/device.
Next, the Nano S Plus goes through a series of twenty-four different words which must be recorded, checked for accuracy, and retained. These twenty-four words given the user by the Nano S Plus device is the only way to retrieve the crypto accounts, buy, sell, trade, etc. the assets. The words, the order of the words and the spelling of each should be checked before moving on. The device will then do a self-check to insure it has not been tampered with prior to your use of the Nano S Plus. If everything checks out, then you are ready for the next step.
This step involves downloading the app Ledger Live. It is here that the different cryptos can be added. The device allows management of over 5500 digital assets and allows for one hundred at a time to be installed and stored on the Nano S Plus. The Nano will allow you to add the specific apps for the specific cryptocurrency and then you will be able to transfer the cryptocurrency from another platform to the Nano S Plus. The Nano-S Plus allows the user to send and sign NFT transactions with full transparency through Ledger Live.
The final step is to transfer your cryptocurrency assets from the platform where they originated. This is a crucial step where all codes must be checked before moving on and before giving the okay for each. If a mistake is made, then the cryptocurrency can be sent to the wrong address and becomes unretrievable.
The tokens and NFTs are more secure from hackers by using this digital wallet because they are loaded on to the Nano S Plus thumb drive by use of CC EAL5+ certified secure chip. The Nano S Plus then acts like a vault for your crypto assets. This is much more secure than other platforms on the World-Wide-
Web. The downside to this is that if you do not transfer the crypto correctly it will be lost. Also, if you lose the Nano S Plus thumb drive, your crypto will be gone forever if not backed up on another Ledger device (which needs to be purchased separately.) If you need to open your account with the 24-word pin that was generated when the device was set up and you have lost this information, your cryptocurrency will also be gone.
The cable provided with the device is too short and hard to use with a desktop. I wish that it were a little bit longer. It is fine with a laptop or phone. The Nano-S Plus device is fairly small, and it operates with only two buttons. It seems to work okay and allows movement through the device by using each button separately. When both are used together, it gives a confirmation of your choice on the screen. The Nano-S Plus will not turn on if it is not connected with the supplied cable to a computerized device.
These are the advantages and disadvantages of Ledger’s Nano-S Plus, but we all know the many disadvantages of the security of our personal assets on the web. Given this, the Nano-S Plus is a desirable choice for security of NFTs and tokens over any other available options. One just needs to be meticulous in its use and maintenance, and not misplace any of your notes.

I had the original Ledger - Nano and had really no complaints. The amount of crypto I had did not warrant a larger device, so I went with it. Now, I have more and need the extra space, so the Nano S was a no brainer for me. It can store up to 100 coin apps at a time, which means I will be set for a long, long time.
The device is just a sleek as my older nano (which was micro USB, and this one is USB-C, which is great!). It comes with your 24 word key, which you absolutely cannot lose. I would recommend keeping it in a safe. Do not take a picture of it….if someone gets a hold of you ledger and that picture, you will lose all of your crypto.
Setup is easy. You will download Ledger Live (their free software), plugin the Ledger Nano S to you PC and follow the instructions! Do not forget your PIN and make sure you write down your 24 word key PERFECTLY! Ledge does a good job of reminding you and warning you what can happen if you do not write it down correctly. Take your time and quadruple check.
Once this is complete, I would recommend watching a basic tutorial online on how to transfer the crypto from one address to your new Ledge Nano S. It is pretty straightforward, but you will want to wrap your head around the concept and process before jumping in headfirst.

Simple but well constructed device, with security system good enough to keep safe your coins. The lack of Bluetooth isn't relevant for me, until now at least. Good for the price.
I would recommend this to a friend

The Ledger Nano S is a secure, compact hardware wallet for storing cryptocurrencies. It supports a wide range of coins and tokens, with a user-friendly interface. Its robust security features make it a great choice for beginners and experienced users alike, though its storage capacity is limited.

First of all, packaging and presentation is TOP TIER! As for the device itself, it is very sturdy and well made, the features it has are very user friendly and secure, you have to manually input access to transactions which is very reassuring, very good product!

This is my first time using a crypto wallet. Set up was easy and the device worked perfectly without issue. Buying crypto through ledger live was a bit troublesome with my bank but that had nothing to do with the actual product. The ledger feels premium and sturdy. I like that it comes with multiple password booklets for safe keeping
