The Ledger Nano S Plus is top notch! Compact, easy to use and super secure for storing cryptos. The extra capacity for more coins and apps makes all the difference. If you want to protect your digital assets, it's definitely worth it!

Great cold wallet device to safely store your crypto, I've purchased 2 of these at Best Buy so far. I did have to go to 2 different locations to get them (as both stores only had one on hand). Makes me think I'm slightly ahead of the curve. Regardless, very easy to use and easy to set up.

The Nano S Plus has more storage 1.28 MB compared to the Nano S 138 KB. Which should be enough storage for all the tokens you want to hold.

The ledger nano s plus is an excellent choice for the price as a beginner wallet, but I do wish it had better support for iOS, fully open source hardware and software, and the ability to buy it with crypto. But it's still an excellent choice

While it is a great entry-level crypto cold wallet, it is well worth spending the extra $30-$50 for a model with Bluetooth capability and easier to access interface. That this is probably one of the best entry-level cold Crypto wallets on the market. So if all you’re looking for is the basics that should do you fine.

The subscription-based service called “Ledger Recover” effectively grants the manufacturer access to clients’ seed phrases; defeating the purpose of using a cold wallet in the first place. THE WHOLE POINT OF A HARDWARE IS TO REMAIN OFFLINE IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!!!! LEDGER YOU SCREWED UP AND I WILL NEVER BUY A PRODUCT FEOM YOU AGAIN !!!!YOU CANNOT BE TRUSTED !!!!

Like it or not, cryptocurrency is here. And it is not going away. We aren’t trading seashells, or stones, or gold, or even cutting coins to give someone their change (that’s not a joke…) anymore for a reason. Countries are adopting cryptocurrency as their official currency. It has now infiltrated my working day as there are now 401(k) meetings provided by companies revolving around nothing but crypto. Even Fidelity is on the brink of adding Bitcoin as an investment option to their 401(k) plans this year. What Ledger offers is a personal hardware key to a wallet you can only open with that key. The whole setup process was straight forward and as cumbersome as you would expect any effort to secure an asset of value. The software suggests setting aside 30 minutes to get the initial setup completed. I suggest an hour to get some tangible results that will ease your mind. Transfer of assets can take time and you are at the mercy of who is processing the request. I strongly suggest writing down the security key words down in a very legible fashion. Just keep them off all electronic devices if possible. It’s the very backbone of the security feature of this wallet. This wallet can’t be broken or cracked without those words, in that very specific order. Just ask the guy who can’t remember his and has loads of Bitcoin (millions of $ equivalent, easily) stored on a drive he is running out of guesses before it is forever locked. I can’t stress the importance of this part enough. Take. Your. Time. Figure out where you want to keep this information, who you trust with it, etc. before you start this process. It’s not difficult. It’s just that important. I currently own cryptocurrency in a few different platforms. Venmo, Coinbase, Robinhood and now my first cold storage wallet offered in the Ledger Nano S Plus. There are some important very distinctions between every one of those that should be understood. Venmo is not a wallet currently. It’s simply a place you can purchase it and exchange it amongst others just like you do with any other currency. What you will find is their fees are extremely high. You pay a fee to Venmo and pay the network fee required by the cryptocurrency you’re moving. I also can not move any of my crypto assets to a Ledger as it is not a wallet. It costs more money to buy and move cryptocurrency there than it does American Dollars. And that kind of defeats the purpose of the advantage of crypto to begin with. Coinbase is a wallet, and you can transfer your cryptocurrency assets from Coinbase to your Ledger. I was an early adopter of Robinhood’s crypto wallet offering and really wanted to give transferring some of my assets to my Ledger a shot just because their interface is so good and easy to use. It’s important to understand that your initiated transfer may not show up in your Ledger wallet immediately. You are at the mercy of the brokerage firm/wallet who is processing the request. How they go about doing so varies as does the speed. Robinhood took roughly 20 minutes from submitting each of three transfer requests. All I had to do was pay the network fee required by the asset. And yes, moving $DOGE is that cheap. It’s real cheap. Those days paying insanely high fees to move money is about to be over. And it costs just the same to send it right to your cold storage Ledger wallet. After setting this up for myself, I strongly recommend having a cold storage solution for those with digital assets that want to set some aside they want to kind of forget about. Be warned though. It can’t get hacked, but it can get lost.

A great option to escape the big brokers

Overall For a long time, I was on the fence about moving off to a hardware wallet. But over the last several years I’ve been adopting better credential hygiene that has made the change absolutely simple. Gone are the days I’ll be using a big name broker to store my crypto anymore. In the box, Ledger includes generic instructions pointing you to the Ledger website, a booklet holding 3 sheets for storing your seed on, more instructions with the same information as the first sheet but translated to about 10 different languages, a care guide, stickers, a keychain strap, a short USB cable, and the Nano S Plus. If I’m being honest, the fob itself feels rather thin. Plugging it into the included USB to connect it to the Ledger Live app was also unpleasant as it wouldn’t seat. I had to really push on them to get them to connect and power up. The first time I disconnected them was about the same as well, which caused me to drop the Nano. Setup Setting up was simpler than I thought. Although I will add that the language used on the Ledger site didn’t make it clear that I needed to download the Ledger app to my computer. It made it seem like installing the smartphone app was all you needed with the Nano S. After grabbing the Ledger app you’re asked to plug in the Nano. Then you’ll go through a series of prompts to setup a pin for the Nano using the 2 buttons on the edge of the body followed by recording the seed phrase, a 24 word recovery key. Once complete you’ll be ready to install your first dApp and begin receiving your crypto from other addresses. With the added companion app for your smartwatch you can have all your assets at a flip of the wrist. Conclusion Despite the stiff plugs, the pros for the Nano outweigh any negatives. It offers superb security and a great convenience. Just be sure to move your seed to something more sturdy or make multiple copies and safeguard them. Take back control over your assets and reclaim your keys with the Nano.

I had the original Ledger - Nano and had really no complaints. The amount of crypto I had did not warrant a larger device, so I went with it. Now, I have more and need the extra space, so the Nano S was a no brainer for me. It can store up to 100 coin apps at a time, which means I will be set for a long, long time. The device is just a sleek as my older nano (which was micro USB, and this one is USB-C, which is great!). It comes with your 24 word key, which you absolutely cannot lose. I would recommend keeping it in a safe. Do not take a picture of it….if someone gets a hold of you ledger and that picture, you will lose all of your crypto. Setup is easy. You will download Ledger Live (their free software), plugin the Ledger Nano S to you PC and follow the instructions! Do not forget your PIN and make sure you write down your 24 word key PERFECTLY! Ledge does a good job of reminding you and warning you what can happen if you do not write it down correctly. Take your time and quadruple check. Once this is complete, I would recommend watching a basic tutorial online on how to transfer the crypto from one address to your new Ledge Nano S. It is pretty straightforward, but you will want to wrap your head around the concept and process before jumping in headfirst.

    Secure Cryptocurrency Hardware Wallet

The Ledger Nano S Plus is a must have hardware wallet in the cryptocurrency world. It is easy to use, even for the most novice of users. It protects your digital cryptocurrency assets by keeping them in cold storage and never exposing your private key online. Pros: * Packaging - The Ledger Nano S Plus comes in a small, minimalistic package. It contains everything you need to get started including the Ledger device, USB-A to USB-C cable, quick start guide, and 3 secret recovery sheets. * Setup - It is very straightforward and takes 20-30 minutes. The quick start guide directs you to ledger.com/start. You download the Ledger app for your respective operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux). Once installed, you connect the device to your computer via the provided cable and follow the step-by- step instructions within the app. It first gives you the option to setup a new device or recover a device. During a new device setup, you select a pin (4-8 digits) and are given a recovery phrase of 24 randomly generated words. It is very important that you write down the recovery phrase and keep it secret. If the device were to stop working, the recovery phrase is the only way to recover your wallet. If someone were to come into possession of your recovery phrase, they could steal your cryptocurrency. Don't take a picture of the recovery phrase and do not upload it to any cloud service. These are all avenues for a hacker to gain access to your account. I wrote down my recovery phrase, laminated the paper, and put it in my safe. Once you are given the recovery phrase, the Ledger device will have you confirm the phrase by choosing the correct word from 4 choices for all 24 randomly generated words. This is done by using the two buttons on the side of the device to toggle forward and backward. Lastly, the Ledger app runs a security check to make sure the Ledger hardware has not been compromised. The device is now ready to use! * Ledger Live App - This app is required to connect to the wallet and interact with your assets. Ledger says it supports over 5,500 different cryptocurrencies and the Ledger Nano S Plus can install about 100 applications at a time. Once connected to the Ledger Live App, you simply select the cryptocurrency accounts you want, it downloads to the device, and you are ready to send or receive cryptocurrency. I added BTC, XLM, and ETH. Sending cryptocurrency to the hardware wallet is easy. Go to the receive tab, select the cryptocurrency account (i.e. BTC) and follow the instructions. It will give you a receive address that can be entered from the sending account (i.e.: if you use Coinbase or other exchange to buy cryptocurrency you would click send currency and input the address). I highly recommend you send a small amount first to make sure the transaction goes through, and it appears on your Ledger Live App. Once you have a successful transaction you can safely send the rest. If you send to the wrong address, in almost all cases the cryptocurrency is gone forever. The Ledger Live App has the ability to buy and sell directly on the platform; however, you can only sell in BTC. There is also a swap function but only select cryptocurrencies are supported. Hopefully over time, more are added (especially alt coins). * Security - Uses an industry leading certified chip (CC EAL5+) designed to keep your assets safe. Overall, if you are going to buy, hold, or sell cryptocurrency I highly recommend owning a Ledger Nano S Plus hardware wallet. It is easy to use, reliable, and will keep your digit assets safe. Don't risk your cryptocurrency by leaving it on an exchange.
