It does require the LEGO Mario starter set in order to get the full use out of. It comes with some regular enemies and Larry Koopa that can be considered a boss. It's interactive and a lot of fun! Definitely recommend if your kids are collectiong the LEGO Mario series.

Great creative fun for kids

This is more of a "free style" set, as it leaves the builder more to use their imagination in how they want to construct it. My son prefers this and has played with it a lot since getting it.

Nice, but OVERPRICED Lego Set

The normal sets are decent on the wallet, but these sets that are tied to popular kid shows, games, or movies are pretty expensive.
