  • Warning - bios update needed + working OEM battery

    Quick summary - to use this battery you must update your BIOS with the included CD. The instructions in the box are in broken english and are tough to decipher. The PDF instructions on the CD are a little better but still not written that clearly. Like all non OEM batteries - your Sony laptop will not charge the battery or boot with the charger plugged in. The battery light will flash and you won't be able to turn your CPU on. To remedy that you will need to update the BIOS with the included CD. Here's the biggest catch - to update the BIOS - you need to have a working OEM battery charged to 30% or greater AND the charger hooked up. This is more a fault of the Sony stock BIOS - but since I was replacing a completely dead battery I was unable to use this product aside from the 60% charge that it came with. Thought I could save a hundred dollars but it looks like my only choice is a tough to find official Sony battery. In conclusion, if you don't have a working official battery then stay away from this product.

    Due to busy, i installed this battery after one month. So, i unable to return this. The battery is not charging at all. Showing the message "Pluged in, not charging".
