Customers regard the IdeaPad Duet Chromebook favorably, particularly praising its ease of use, included keyboard, and excellent battery life. The device's value for the price and compact size are also frequently cited as positive aspects. While some users mention limitations in the amount of RAM and the sound quality of the speakers, the overall user experience appears to be quite positive.

Pros: storage, keyboard included, battery life
Cons: can’t customize idle time before screen turns off, short charging cable
I love this chromebook. I have a gaming laptop and a bulky work laptop that aren’t very portable. I was looking for a smaller option for editing documents and reading but wanted it to have more storage memory than my very first flash drive. Since this wasn’t going to be my primary workhorse I couldn’t justify the cost of a surface or surface pro. I read about the duet, excited it was a Lenovo, and was pleased to see the upgrade to 128 GB storage. Also, it came with it’s own keyboard included! I was sold right there.
I’ve been using it more that I had intended and it holds up well. I did buy a Bluetooth mouse and a stylus for ease of use when the keyboard was detached (I hate finger prints on my screen). The mouse was a welcomed addition, the keyboard is obviously small but that made the track pad a tad cumbersome for an old school person like myself. I’ve found the third party stylus to be a bit sluggish and requires a firmer touch than I’d like. I haven’t played around with any settings yet to see if the screen sensitivity can be changed.
The battery life is solid. When using low demand apps like google docs I don’t have to worry all day about having the battery life needed (at least 6-7 hours per charge). When I watched a movie, as expected the battery took a hit, but I could comfortably watch 2 full length movies on one charge. The sound was pretty solid too.
The only two things have frustrated me. 1) There is no way to change the idle time allotted before the screen goes blank. While writing I can have the page in the same spot for a while as I’m considering the next section. I get annoyed having to constantly move the mouse (I believe it’s a 5 minute default). Most laptops allow you to lengthen that time or disable that battery saving feature. This operating system does not. 2) The charging cable it comes with is only 3 feet. Too short for my taste. Although because the battery life is so good, I didn’t notice how limiting the cord was until I wanted to watch a movie at the end of the day. I plan to buy a 6 foot cable.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Duet Chromebook. Regarding your Chromebook going into Sleep Mode when idle, you can change this setting: To have your Chromebook stay awake when you aren’t using it: At the bottom right, select the time. Select Settings. On the left, select Device. Select Power. Under "When idle," next to "While charging" and "While on battery," choose Keep display on. For the money I think this is a fantastic little unit. It is surely slower than many of the Intel or AMD units out there, but what if lacks in speed it makes up for in other ways.
First the good:
Build quality is awesome for a unit in this price, the body is aluminum with a strip of good looking and feeling plastic along the top (I'd imagine for it's wireless radios). The lil thing feels like it should cost more.
The use of a usb-c port is awesome as there are no proprietary chargers or anything to worry about, the unit can even be charged with a normal power bank for a phone etc.
The included kickstand, keyboard and mouse cover are nice add-ons. The kickstand portion and the keyboard portion are sperate and can be installed or removed individually. They attach magnetically and it's super convenient. They are plastic but feel fairly sturdy, the kickstand has a cool fabric covering while they keyboard has a more normal soft touch plastic, I believe this is to prevent the until from sliding or else I'd love to have seen the fabric.
The screen is really good for the price, the resolution is great, colors are good and it's an IPS screen so off axis viewing is wonderful.
In my year of ownership ive allowed this lil thing to serve as the only "computer" I bring on trips. The 128gb (nice at this price) of storage allows me to store numerous Disney plus HQ movies and watch them on that great screen.
Using Bose Bluetooth headphones works well and I have no audio delay when watching movies.
Battery life has been good and lasts for about 8 hours in my use (screen brightness high to max)
Now for the bad.
The truncated layout of the keyboard can be a little annoying and takes time to get used to. I'm noticeably slower on this lil guy, the key travel is okay and the overall feel is fine (if your not trying to use in your lap).
I couldn't get a type-c to headphone adapter to work... Not sure if it's the adapter or the device.. since BT worked I didn't dig further.
The mediatek APU in this thing is kind of a dog compared to it's x86 counterparts. Its fine but only just.
If they made a revised version with a better keyboard layout and an x86 APU for $50 more I'd be in.

Love this Duet! As a self-employed person who travels quite a bit, I can't be without a reliable, easy way to respond to clients and customers. My phone and old clunky laptop weren't getting it done. Has everything I needed & wanted: removable keyboard; touchscreen; good-sized hard drive; fast; lightweight, but not too small; good-sized, clear display. Worked perfectly right out of the box. Easy to pair with my phone.

Amazing. A+++. 5 Stars. User friendly, simple to use, great quality. Battery life is at least ten hours and usually far more. The touch screen makes for easy use and the keyboard is small but definitely functional. The brightness is great, the optics crystal clear, the processing is speedy. Simple to switch between applications and not lose your place. Plus it’s light, sturdy, attractive. I use it to get through graduate school, including Zoom, and I don’t know how I got by without it. A phenomenal little Chromebook. Plus the price is crazy inexpensive. Very highly recommended.

Purchased this for my wife and it fit the bill for our needs. Wanted something that was less of a laptop but more than a tablet if that makes sense. The optional snap-on keyboard with the optional kickstand is great for when you want a more laptop feel. And then when you need it to be more of a tablet you can take those off. And having the Chrome OS with the Google play store built in gives both the Chromebook(Laptop) and Android(Tablet) options. So although not perfect it gave us the options we needed at the price we wanted to invest into what we were needing it for. It runs surprisingly well which was my first fear because a lot of android tablets tend to get sluggish pretty quickly. You do want to make sure to keep it updated regularly. One of the downfalls of almost every Chromebook is that for some reason they don't stay connected to wifi when they go to sleep so upon waking it, especially if is been a few days or longer you will get bombarded with notifications and or updates which can make it slow to start up but I've had the same issue with a $1000+ Chromebook. So all in all if you find this for a good deal I wouldn't hesitate on it too long. Great option in my opinion. Our use case was to use it for working on spreadsheets and other documents as well as video chatting and other work-related tasks but also wanted it to be able to play 1080P videos from multiple services such as Netflix. And we wanted it to be able to multitask so she would have no issues browsing and researching while working on a document and it had no issues doing all of those things and more and so far the battery life in our use case has been at least 6+ hours on a full charge for regular usage and it charges fairly quickly. And the 128GB gave us plenty of storage space. Most is stored in the cloud but we wanted to make sure we had enough just incase.

This is an impressive gadget for its $300 price tag. A few observations from my last 3 days of use. I am also noting some flaws (but they are mostly worthy trade-offs for such a low price point)
Pros
- Tablet itself is light weight
- Display quality is great
- Front camera has good image quality for video conferencing
- Keyboard feel great. I've had no problem hitting the half-sized keys despite their size. Keys have the right amount of travel and do not feel cheap.
- Performance is great for browsing and video viewing. I've seen no hiccups in my daily use that often include several browser tabs and apps running.
- Speakers are loud enough (though of course don't expect much bass for music playing).
Cons
- Thick and quite bulky with both back rest and keyboard attached.
- A single USB-C port and no headphone jack. (Though package includes a USB-c-to-headphone adapter).
- When attaching external monitor, only up to 1280x800 resolution is supported. This is very annoying if you ever to plan to use this for work. This is known to be a hardware limit and no software fix is likely available. You can work around this by chrome-casting the browser to a compatible device.

This is excellent. I bought this used as a backup to a cheap laptop, but I use it quite a lot as a tablet for artwork. They keyboard takes some getting used to, but this is such an amazing computer for the price. I bought this Used - Satisfactory, and it runs perfectly. The battery life is better than my laptop.
The Lenovo USI stylus is decent, but I would recommend the Penoval stylus and screen cover.

I utterly despised my last Chromebook. It was a piece of trash with 16GB of storage that could barely do anything and was totally crippled when offline. I hated it so much, in fact, that I modded Windows 10 onto it as soon as I could figure out how.
Eventually, I decided to get another one to purposely low-spec myself so I could take notes in class and do general productivity stuff without getting tempted to play Skyrim. I expected this thing to be unpleasant to use, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
This doesn't even feel like Chrome OS anymore. It feels like a proper PC. Thanks to the fact I can install and use Android apps alongside Chrome apps and resize them too, it feels actually functional and like a proper competitor to a Windows machine. Admittedly, the only game I'm ever going to play on it is Genshin Impact. But otherwise, it's great. I can use it for Zoom calls and my school email as well as exams and music, and it's responsive the entire time. It works pretty well with Stadia and the fact that it's booted up and logged in in under 10 seconds means it's a good option for if I need to check something really quick. The fact that it's a tablet means I can use it as an e-reader for textbooks pretty smoothly, and the battery life is nothing to sneeze at. The only complaint I really have is that it doesn't have a headphone jack. Thanks to all this, it's actually become a serious competitor to my iPad in terms of what I use it for, and I could not be more pleasantly surprised. The price for all this performance was probably the best part - it runs much better than some other Android tablets I've used, for cheaper than an equivalent Samsung tablet.
I'd definitely recommend this if you don't need Windows and can do everything you need on a tablet and web browser.

I've been in the market for a new Android tablet for a while now, but I wanted to avoid getting tied into a manufacturer-specific version of Android (e.g., Samsung). I'm familiar with the original ChromeOS, but hadn't used it for several years. When Chromebooks started to gain the ability to run some Android apps, my interest was piqued.
Unfortunately, Google gave up on the tablet form factor to concentrate on standard clamshell or awkward foldover designs.
Enter Lenovo with the Ideapad Duet 2 in 1. Once I managed to get my hands on one of these rare beasts, I knew that it was going to do just fine. The price is extremely low, even before you add in the value of the included kickstand cover and snap on magnetic keyboard. The processor is more than adequate for my purposes (reading and marking up PDFs, light work in MS Office, browsing, streaming music and video), and the RAM is... well, it's adequate most of the time. It does bog down occasion if I tax the system with too many tabs and/or a very long PDF for editing. But the screen is great, better than I'd expect for the price.
So why not 5 stars? It should have more ports. One USB-C port is not enough; it should have one on each side. It's annoying to need to carry around a hub all the time. A microSD slot would have been great, too, given that the options cap at 128GB storage. Also, including a slow-charging AC adapter in the box is a cheesy corner to cut.
Overall, though, this is a fantastic little machine for someone with limited demands and/or limited resources. I hope that Lenovo is able to correct these minor issues for the Duet 2.
(And release the USI pen already!)

Hi everyone, I'm a techy person with many, many products purchased over the years. I've had 3 Chromebooks in the last three years and IMO Lenovo nailed it with this device. Having the keyboard dock and kickstand is a very nice feature but I mostly use this device in bed at night in tablet mode to check news and watch Netflix until I fall asleep. The size is perfect, the brightness is fantastic and the battery life is far better than other Android tablets I've used in the past. The keyboard and touchpad work great for me, I have no complaints. Overall The Chrome OS is getting better and in some cases, you still have to decide whether to use the app or the web browser to access sites like Hulu, Netflix, youtube and others. In most cases, I use the web browser unless I want to download my shows, if that's the case I use the app. But overall I really like this device. The audio is acceptable. The headphone adapter comes in the box to adapt the 3.5mm jack to USB C. This device gets really bright as well. Overall I give it a thumbs up. I did have some issues early on with the wifi becoming unresponsive but after the latest chrome OS update, I have not experienced it again. Knock on wood, but it's been over a week so I think they fixed it. Also, Lenovo created a tablet with no backlight bleeding which I love and shows it's a higher quality product.
If you've never used a Chromebook it's far and away the easiest device to set up or even reset if you ever had to.

There are some sacrifices to get it at this price point but all of it is worth it. Free keyboard with the purchase (unlike ipads, samsungs or chrome slates). Great size for portability. It is a bit hefty, but I'm willing to take that on. There is no intel chip, but there is still good performance and great battery life with the Mediatek processor. Overall a great device for students and children as well general consumers of media.

Excellent device for a great price but needs a SD card slot and headphone jack. While tiny bezels on a laptop are nice on a tablet it just makes it a pain in the rear to hold. I am constantly touching the screen by accident when it's in tablet mode which causes all sorts of unwanted results and it can get frustrating at times. Also, If you have oily skin like I do the mettle backing and frame make it extremely slippery to hold with out the cover on. Build quality is excellent and the screen is nice and bright. The included magnetic backing with built in kickstand plus the included (very decent) keyboard make it an excellent value. The clincher for me was the fast that it will continue to receive updates until June 2027. for the average user it has plenty of speed and capability. However I have noticed this device OS system size is close to 28 Gigabytes right out of the box where my other Chrome book OS size is a much more reasonable 8 to 9 Gig. I have no idea what that is about but just bought a new Andrid phone as well and it's Operating system is just as huge so I don't think it is a fluke. Just to confirm it I did a Power wash and then immediately checked the storage size. OS was still 28 GIGS. This makes buying the 128 GIG model an absolute must.

First of all I’m not a technical savvy person and this is my second Chromebook. My first one was a HP 2 in 1 tablet that I paid almost 500 for it. This is an awesome Chromebook if you are first trying out this kind of tablet. It’s very inexpensive and what really matters to me is it comes with a decent cover and a detachable keyboard. Albeit it doesn’t comes with a SD slot for expandable memory but for my daily use and with the help of Cloud storage, the 128GB storage is way than ample for me. The screen is clear , colors are vibrant enough for its compact size, and its well built. Don’t expect it to be a expert user tablet but from day to day use, it’s wonderful. The touchscreen is responsive and the smaller keyboard feels great. The speakers are not that great but coming from such a compact tablet it’s normal but could be better. I doubt that it’s going to be good for high end video editing but basic editing is possible. I highly recommend this Chromebook.

This is my first ChromeOS device, so I will limit my review to the Duet experience rather than ChromeOS.
Pros: Adjustable stand is solid. Beautiful and bright screen. Without attachments, the tablet is very lightweight and fun to use. Snappy to use for everyday things like web browsing and productivity. Android app support is awesome. Keyboard is great to type on (if you can hit the right keys). The cover is a handsome grey knit, and is held on by some strong magnets.
Cons: My biggest gripe with this tablet is with the keyboard. I can get past the size because it's a 10" tablet. But the touchpad can be difficult to use, as in my fingers don't slide well on the surface. The clicks aren't very satisfying either. When closed, the keyboard slides around a lot, which could have easily been fixed with a few magnets, like how the Surface tablet keyboards grip onto the screen. This is made worse by the fact that there are no [tempered glass] screen protectors available a month after release, so the risk of microscratches is pretty high.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this tablet. I find myself using it for my simple web browsing or media consumption rather than sitting at my desktop computer. It is simply a fun device to have. If you can get a hold of it, I would highly recommend it. Just be mindful of the sliding keyboard so you don't scratch up the awesome screen.

I bought this to replace a 4 year old android tablet. My tablet was starting to freeze when browsing the internet and on simple apps. It was on Android 7. This was why I did not want another tablet, you might get 1 or 2 Android updates. I do not have to worry about that with this Chromebook. Same size as my tablet and perfect for my use, which is browsing internet, checking emails, watching videos and light gaming. I travel a lot and wanted something small and affordable. I have had MediaTek processors in the past and have had no problems. Does it compare to my Snapdragon 865? No, but it costs a lot less. The storage is fixed but it is 128gb, that is more than enough for me. The keyboard has been a big surprise. I basically was planning on disconnecting it and just using the chromebook as I would a tablet. I actually use it with the keyboard more than without. The size is no big deal and the keys are very responsive. The speakers are ok, but I usually use my earbuds. For what I needed and how I was going to use this Chromebook, it has been great. I would buy it again, especially on sale.

I read a lot of what seemed to be almost over-the-top reviews of the Lenovo Chromebook Duet before I decided to buy one. The most memorable included a comment along the lines of "This product has no business being as inexpensive as it is." After having used the device, I can say that none of the reviews were exaggerations.
The build quality is excellent. The keyboard is as good as any keyboard I've used--and I'm extremely picky when it comes to keyboards. I have no issues whatsoever with performance. (Note that I haven't tried to open large numbers of tabs at the same time, but I don't expect a device at this price to handle dozens of open windows.) The Android apps I've tried run very well on it. I haven't tried to use Linux on it, but probably will just to see how far I can push the device.
I see only a few areas for improvement:
-- I would only call Chrome OS adequate in tablet mode. It is nowhere near as good Android was even about five years ago. That said, I know Google is working on that, so I expect to see it improve in the future.
-- A backlit keyboard would be nice. That's not a big deal for me because I'm a touch typist, but it would be handy at times.
-- I wish there was a USB-C port on each side because the cord is just to short for me due to the placement of the port. It's on the right side of the screen, but outlets are to my left in two of the primary places I use the device. This is only a very minor nuisance, however, because I'm very pleased with how long the battery lasts.
