I have been very pleased with this little PC. I was looking at buying a used Microsoft Surface Pro but I'm glad I bought this instead! Screen: the screen is nice and bright with high resolution. Rich colors. Better than I expected. Keyboard: Backlick keyboard. Keys are very functional. Easy to take on and off. The bluetooth connectivity is neat! You can detatch the keyboard and still use it. Kickstand: adjust easily to multiple different angels. Facial recognition: unexpected on a laptop/tablet in this price range! Ports: only has two separate USB-C ports. They work just fine and I have no complaints but you will want to have some sort of a USB-C adapter to use as needed. Remember, you also have Bluetooth which works well. I wish they were Thunderbolt 4 specs, but they are not. Sound: stereo speakers. They sound fine. Not better or worse than expected. Form factor: easily fits in my hands. Nice to use while I'm watching TV. Good for traveling. One small annoyance is that without the keyboard the tablet automatically defaults to portrait mode when booting up. Once it is in Windows it is not an issue because it senses the orientation you desire. CPU: the 12th generation core i3 CPU is a real surprise! In my own informal speed tests it rivals my other PC which has a core i7 11th generation. It is very snappy in performance. SSD: I swapped out the 128 GB PCIe 3x4 NVMe SSD for a 256 GB PCIe 4x4 which I got on eBay for less than $40. The swap wasn't for the faint of heart but it wasn't excessively difficult either. There is no adhesive attaching the screen like there is on an iPad. Try to get a single side SSD. I think a dual side would work but you have to remove the foam backing behind the drive.

Perfect product! So easy to use, practical and I love that it comes with the keyboard. The size is perfect for entertainment if you want to watch a movie or something and it is great to carry with you for work. I cannot recommend this product enough! The color is beautiful as well, the part that opens to keep your tablet standing is easy to use and very effective, you can control the angle you want. And I love that it has two charging entrances so you can have your charger at the same time as a cell phone plugged in or a usb hub with more ports . Great Great product, super satisfied

I was looking for an update to my iPad that would have more flexibility like a PC and that I could use the full Windows Office Suite for business. I tried a Chromebook but there are still too many limitations. When I was looking at Surface Tablets I came across the Duet 5i from Lenovo. I feel the build on the Lenovo Duet 5i is superior to a Surface Tablet, the cost was significantly less, and using OneDrive I now have a full extension of my desktop anywhere I go. A great Tablet and a quality keyboard! (Note: I added a custom skin on the computer back for protection.)

I used this laptop tablet for taking the LSAT during the pandemic. If your lookint for a pen that’s compatible with the computer, go to lenovos website. It takes a while to ship yet it will save you the headache of trying other pen brands. Still a 10/10 computer for students or on the go workers

A Portable and Productive Tablet Computer

I already have a tablet which is great for watching videos and looking at pictures but I wanted something super-portable that I could actually be productive on and this Windows 2-in-1 fit the bill. It includes a backlit keyboard with touch pad that serves as a cover and since it's Bluetooth you can still use it even when it's not attached. The screen is great and the sound is actually quite decent; I spend a lot less time on my other tablet nowadays! Unfortunately, it's an i3 with 8GB of RAM so it's a bit slow if you've got a million tabs open in Firefox, but it's plenty if you just need to write a paper or work on some spreadsheets. The 128GB SSD fills up kind of quick but there are tutorials out there on how to swap it out; I haven't done that yet since I have a portable SSD that I just plug into one of the two USB-C ports. The battery life isn't as good as advertised but it charges pretty quick. Touchscreen sometimes doesn't register taps but it might just be my fat fingers; I haven't tried using a stylus. Kind of wish the specs were a touch more powerful but it does what I want it to so I'm pretty happy with it!

Fantastic value at $529 sale price; half the price of a Surface Pro and even better in a few ways. Pros: 12th gen i3 is (usually) very peppy and performs well. Fan noise is virtually silent most of the time and isn't loud even when running on full tilt. The screen is gorgeous and way better than almost any device at this price point. It is extremely bright, crisp, with great color accuracy and contrast. The blue metal case is well made, the hinge is sturdy and smooth, and the speakers are pretty good. Webcam and mics are good as well. WIndows Hello works well and the laptop can even recognize when you step away or return. The battery life is decent for this size of device. The keyboard is awesome. It is included in the box, well made and backlit with good typing feel and trackpad is better than expected. The real genius in this keyboard is that it charges via pogo pins when connected but has a battery and can be used even when detached from the unit, somthing the Surface Pro cannot do. That's awesome. Cons? Not many. Obviously the i3 isn't the top of the line and it can get bogged a bit when under heavy load. 128 of storage is not a lot for WIndows 11 and it isn't easily expandable. No microsd card slot, and only 2 USB (non Thunderbolt) ports. No pen in the box and not easy to determine which pen will work. The i3 is Intel UHD graphics so forget playing games on this tablet. Overall if you want a 12-inch Windows 11 tablet and don't need a lot of storage, this is a must-buy especially on sale. Its just too good at its price point to ignore

Hello, Bryanmsi, thank you for choosing Lenovo! In advance, this is a lengthy response, as we want to address your pronouncement completely. First, with storage expandability, this model Duet 5i features a 128GB SSD, as you mention, and can be upgraded up to 512GB M.2 2242 SSD. We recommend working with a Lenovo certified technician, or someone from our Lenovo Tech Support team to discuss your upgrade options (phone number for tech support: 877-453-6686). Regarding stylus compatibility, this model Duet 5 works with the Lenovo Active Pen 3, supporting WGP, AES 2.0, and MPP 2.0 protocols. We appreciate you sharing your experience and are glad to hear that the design, features, performance, and functionality of your IdeaPad Duet 5i meets your needs well. Lenovo

We got this tablet for a student and they have been enjoying it quite a bit. Great performance for the money and nice screen (though 120hz would be nice but that'd be more $). The keyboard being able to be wireless as well is a nice feature. Really the biggest downside is the only comes in 128GB onboard storage and NO option for external storage card. Pretty silly since all the other lenovo tablets have the sd card slot. I'd recommend for students and other light users but not much more.

I have had this tablet for over six months now and I am loving it. I wanted a tablet that could run full windows app and this one fit that bill. The screen is super crispy and sharp, the keyboard is really good for typing. Now, this is a mid range spec device ( 8gb ram) so don’t expect to run photoshop at snappy speeds. The 128gb is too small in my opinion, but luckily it’s not hard to change the SSD to a 512gb one. I bought this MZALQ512HALU off Amazon for $50 and now I have quadrupled my storage. I paid $550 for mine brand new. I would not buy this at the full msrp. I wish the device could support a 1TB SSD but it maxes out at 512gb. In my opinion, upgrading the SSD to 512gb is a must. Only do this though after you’ve had the device for a few months and have no issues. I say this because upgrading the SSD will void your warranty.

    Microsoft surface's killer

Excellent option for a lightweight laptop that is needed during a workday in different offices and places, don't forget that it has an i3 processor up to 4.4ghz with active ventilation, so it gets hot enough to think twice when holding it as a tablet. core i3 1215u (yes 12th gen) and 8gb ram is enough for full windows 11 experience (according to 2023) but very little disk space with only 128gb, upgrade to 512gb disk is a must, for $40 you get sk hynix options. Touch screen and keyboard + mousepad included (fixed and Bluetooth) is a bargain compared to the microsoft surface. Add some adapters (USB type c 3.2 gen 2) and you can connect up to 4k monitor, wow a desk setup dreaming. Beautiful screen but I wouldn't recommend this duet PC for gaming.

This is a really great computer for the money but it has a few problems. For one, it doesn't have enough memory for me and it can't be expanded. It only has one extra USB port. Most annoyingly, I keep hitting the power button and sending it to sleep. That button should not be on the side of the box where you almost always hold it.

    Why, Best Buy, why?

First off, I liked this device. I really did. Unfortunately, when I went to look up the specs and other detailed info on bestbuy's website, it was hard to do. It's hidden away under "tablets," and can't be found under "laptops". I had to look it up by name when I wanted to do a little more research on it after seeing it in store. With all that out of the way, I liked this little guy. Unfortunately, for me, it comes down to supply chain issues. I want a form factor like this to use a digital stylus with, but none are redily available to me where I live. Even through Lenovo's website, I'm told only one particular stylus will work on this model, and unfortunately it's a few weeks out, at earliest. I don't understand why lenovo has several styluses that are laptop specific, and sells them seperately. If samsung phone s pens can work on laptops and tablets, and MS Surface pens work across most Surface tablets and laptops, why can't lenovo do the same with their styluses. It seems niche and nitpicky but, that was my experince. I got it as a suplimental laptop I could carry around. Being half the price of a surface pro was appealing to me. Having 8gb of memory instead of 4gb like many of the surrounding similar products was also appealing. I was looking for small and portable, and unfortunately, anything under 13in in a laptop has become very limited these days. The core i3 isn't anything to write home about, but it works well enough. It's not a powerhouse, and it would competes with the 10th gen processor found in the surface go3. Unfortunately, it's why I ultimately retuned this device; It competes with a processor that's 3 generations behind. It should far surpass a laptop with a processor that old. It didn't. I don't hate this form factor. I like that the keyboard works even if it's not connected to the screen. In fact, that was a huge selling point to me. Why Surface Pro's can't do this, I don't understand. They even sold a bluetooth adapter for Surface Pro keyboards at one point, so why it hasn't been integrated into newer keyboards like this version of Lenovo's tablet/laptop? Perhaps in the next surface go 4. The kickstand on a tablet laptop like this takes up more desk realestate than you imagine, so being able to move the keyboard away from the screen like this is a great idea. The speakers worked suprisingly well. The screen is wonderful with great viewing angles. I don't know who came up with the idea that a touchscreen laptop needs a smaller trackpad, but that person would be wrong. It's not an issue on this little guy. Overall, it would be a great laptop for a student, or a supplimental travel piece. I just kind of wish Best Buy would promote this better. Perhaps have the other periferals (like the stylus) available for it, or even have it be easily found on their website. If it's on sale, I see no reason to ignore it. Mixed review, I know, but it is what it is.

Was looking for a small laptop that could easily be carried with me that was light and compact. This fits all the criteria. Plenty of processing power for the basics. The only two downsides are the small SSD and the compact keyboard. Upgraded the drive myself to 512gb. Although not a task for the faint-hearted or technically challenged. The keyboard just takes getting used to and I have big hands. Still not a problem and I love the machine. Well worth the price and I'm thrilled with my purchase.

It is a great windows 11 tablet which has 2 usb-c ports, bottom one is also used to charge. Very fast and clean image. Can compete with Surface tablets. Downside is thta it is somewhat heavy to be called a true portable and probably the biggest weight comes from the bluetooth removable backlit keyboard. Unfortunately the backlight does not stay on as long as with the Surface, probably just 1 second then one has to tap any key again to light up but that is only in very dim or no light environment. Neither Lenovo nor Best Buy Geek Squad had a solution. For the price, it is the better one in the market. Unfortunately there is no memory slot to increase with a micro SD (8gb ram and 128gb memory) nor can you find anywhere a case for it.

I didn't want to spend all that money on a Surface Pro 8/9 again. I had one, my wife is now using it for work. Surface Pro 8 with 8GB/256GB. It's a great unit, but it is expensive. She puts it through its paces and then some. Me, I am a MAC/OS user for the most part nowadays. But my roots are in Windows. I have owned and/or built 100+ computers over the years. And despite my using Apple hardware predominantly, I always like to have a Windows PC in the mix. Seeing as I took a liking to the Surface form factor, I searched hard to find something similar. I then came across this almost by accident. I would have poo-pooed this because of it's base like specs in the past. But I was after the form factor. Long story short, you cannot beat this device for $529 on sale. Does all the basics for me with ease. Browsing, email, YouTube, Netflix, MS Ofice etc. I even hooked up a Satechi external 1TB ssd drive with HDMI out to a LG 48" OLED and it worked like a charm. Detached the keyboard to use via Bluetooth and it was pretty darn cool. Also, this has USB-C charging only. No bulky proprietary adapter like the Surface Pro!!! The only obvious downside to the unit is a smaller battery than the Surface so you're not going to get crazy battery life out of this. Though it is certainly acceptable. Listen if everybody knew about this device Surface Pro sales would take a hit big time.
