I purchased the Lenovo - Mirage Solo with Daydream Virtual Reality Headset along with the Lenovo Mirage 3d/180 video camera. I read quite a few reviews on VR headsets - but do not have much experience with them. My purpose for 3d/180 video was for view sports events which I record. This combination of Mirage camera and headset does not work for this purpose. Watching the video is okay...but the 3d feeling is not quite there when objects are 25' away or more. Also, the 180 degree viewing does not do much for you.
However, the ease of use of the headset was nice. It is comfortable. It stays steady. I wore it for 30+ minutes with no problem - however, I was not jumping and moving.
Visually - you can see the pixels but it is not too bad. The visual quality is WAY better than using a cell phone as the screen.
Controls - the controller is nice. You can use your thumb to scroll/pan right/left/up/down.
User Visual interface - is fine (I don't have anything to compare it to) - using the on screen menus and the controller (pointer) worked fine. Occasionally, I navigate incorrectly because I pressed the wrong thumb button on the controller.
The headset supports 6 degrees of freedom. Nice.
This headset provides some new features not readily available on earlier non-tethered VR headsets. We'll likely see new, cool features coming soon. Unfortunately, it is a bit pricey right now.

I've got 2 other daydream headsets that require a daydream enabled phone to operate, and was looking forward to this standalone version. But I was pretty disappointed to see that the user experience was horrible. The pointer/BT wand would sporadically jump around the screen even when the remote was held perfectly still. Also, I was surprised that there was no integrated speaker on the headset. Yeah, you either have to plug in headphones or connect Bluetooth speakers to be able to hear anything. I ended up returning the unit, even after getting it for 199.99. Still too much of an ask for what you get.

I'm still getting to know how it works and where the best content is.
On the plus side; It's a lot of fun, the display is pretty good, and you don't need to tie up your phone or be tethered to a PC.
On the minus side; expensive and as cool as it is you know it will be old technology before long, content is a bit thin. It's heavy, on me at least most of the weight rests on my nose.

We are glad to hear that your are enjoying your Mirage Solo with Daydream. There are 250 Daydream apps that are available for you to chose from at this time.To help with the Headset fit you may want to try and re-adjust the it. The best way to do this is to: Open the headband using the adjustable dial and put the headset on face in first. Then lower the headband to place its back under the curve of the back of your head. Tighten the headband using the adjustable dial. When comfortable, you can adjust your focus/vision using the quick release button to pull/push the visor from the face.

EXCELLENT as a home theater with HUGE screen!

Virtual reality is in its infancy, so all the vr apps and vr games wear off their novelty and excitement pretty quick ( a few days). The graphics in the VR games are light years behind those on the PC and the gaming platforms. Consequently, the VR side is not impressive, but that's true for any standalone VR headset, from any brand at this time,
However, the Mirage Solo is amazing as a very affordable home theater with HUGE screens. Netflix VR and 2D streaming apps look gorgeous in this VR headset. With the VERY important advantage that movies, tv series and shows can be watched laying down horizontally and looking to the ceiling, which is very very comfortable (the headset sits on your face with very little pressure to the ridge of your nose). The Netflix screen can be moved and placed where it is the easiest to watch. Same thing for the 2D streaming apps, when used with VLC player (which can also download subtitles for any language from the Internet).
I recommend this affordable vr headset for those who need a virtual home theater with very large screens to enjoy while laying down. (The lens should be warmed up with a hair dryer before using, so they don't fog.)

After reading all the reviews of the headset, I decided to purchase the device. For me, it gets hot real fast and puts pressure on my nose after a short period of time. I really like the Google Apps as well as Youtube VR. In the end, I chose the Oculus Go. Not only for the vast assortment of apps but, also it is way more comfortable and can be worn for extended periods of time.

Thank you for your feedback. Like all devices like this one, it is recommended that you let the device recharge and cool off after extended game play. You may want to try these steps to adjust the headset: Open the headband using the adjustable dial and put the headset on face in first. Then lower the headband to place its back under the curve of the back of your head. Tighten the headband using the adjustable dial. When comfortable, you can adjust your focus/vision using the quick release button to pull/push the visor from the face.
