Once EVERYTHING was set up and all the pieces were in place, the app had been downloaded, and batteries were installed, etc, this was pretty enjoyable. I'm excited to spend a little more time getting familiar with it. I never would have bought for normal price, but at $50 for a holiday deal, it was a price I could live with. Still not sure it's even worth THAT much, but it's not horrible.

Fun for any star wars fan. Only down side is that it's a little heavy and hard on the neck.

We are glad to hear that you are having fun with the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges. You may want to try re- adjusting the position of the headset. The best way to do so is by placing the headset on and adjusting the two side straps first, then adjust the top strap until it feels comfortable to you.

Fun Game Once Set Up

This is a really fun game to play. The graphics and interaction with the characters is really cool. The setup instructions are a little vague and tough to walk through but once up its a blast to play. One other item - After about 20 minutes of play my phone came up with an over heating warning. So plan your battle to last about 15 minutes before needing to pull your phone out to cool.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are having problems setting up the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges. It is very important when setting up the system for the first time to use the "app" that is provided to guide you through the entire set up process. This insures that the whole system: headset, phone, tracking beacon and Lightsaber controller, will be synced correctly. Some phones may experience an increase in temperature when running graphics found in apps such as Jedi Challenges, but our app is designed to safely operate within the established parameters of your supported phone to deliver a high quality gameplay experience with no harm to your phone. I never write reviews, but for this I had to. It's really awesome, quite unbelievable actually. Quality feels great for headset and lightsaber, game works very well, little bit of re-centering the lightsaber (very quick and easy) now and then, but otherwise flawless so far. Really hope they make more games for this kit, i'd happily buy through app store. A must for any Star Wars fan, so much fun!

The control can be a little quirky and frustrating, but for the more patient the games are quality and fun. This is one player, but the goggles are transparent and observers can tell what the viewers are seeing. This helps so the player isn't hitting people as they flail about with the lightsaber. The game forces players to experience all three games or the player will only be able to go so far in their favorite game. This can be a drawback for younger players if they don't grasp the chess and large scale combat (think Tower Defense, Age of Empires) games.

Quality build in included items. Boys got a big kick out of the lightsaber. As they are huge starwars fan. Dialing Darth maul got some pretty good reactions. Hopefully they will continue to add additional game modes etc. otherwise 8 year olds get bored with it pretty quick. Price point would be a bit better and justified if closer to the $150 range rather then $200.

A shaky experience

I've spent plenty of time with all the major VR headsets (Vive, Rift, Gear VR, Daydream) and have also used HoloLens. I was pretty geeked to try this $200 mobile AR experience.
I wasn't expecting an equivalent to $1,000+ virtual experiences, but for two Benjamins I was hoping for stable virtual holograms. No such luck.
While the lightsaber moved as expected, its virtual blade floated in the air a few inches behind the real hilt. The virtual floor was about half a foot below my real floor. Enemies and objects shook and juddered as I moved around.
I thought maybe I had too much light in the room, so I darkened it, but got the same results.
VR and AR aren't something you get points for going halfway on: To trick your mind, they need to provide an accurate and stable illusion.
The games themselves are solid, even if the illusion isn't. The lightsaber battles are akin to Infinity Blade or Punch Out: blocking enemy attacks and getting an opening to wail away at them. Holochess would've been fun if the board wasn't shaking and gyrating like Shakira after twelve cups of coffee.
Jedi Challenges might be a fun novelty or toy for little kids, but for anyone remotely discerning, the tech just isn't there yet. Give AR a few years and we'll see much better illusions than this shaky tech demo.

Thank you for feedback.
We are sorry to hear that you are having some problems playing the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges game.
Please make sure your phone is on the list of compatible phones. You can check at : jedichallenges.com/compatibility.
When setting up the game for the first time it is important that you use the "app" to guide you through the process. This ensures that the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges headset , Lightsaber controller and tracking beacon are synced correctly. The tracking beacon should be placed several feet away from where you will be.
If the Lightsaber blade is not lining up correctly: with the headset on and the game on as well , hold the Lightsaber controller between your eyes about 12 inches away. And then press the black button on the Lightsaber controller. This will re-align the beam.

The AR headset works really well. It is a little difficult to set up but once you figure it out, it is a lot of fun. Depending on the size of the phone, there is a possibility that it will get stuck when trying to pull it out. (A pair of needle nose pliers works fine to pull it out.) It is fun for all ages.

We are glad to hear that you are having a lot of fun playing the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges. This is an interactive game and you will need to move around to battle "Darth Maul" and others. Star Wars: Jedi Challenges is designed to be played standing and in motion, within a recommended space of 1.5m-3m x 1.5m-3m, and a distance of at least 1.5m from the Tracking beacon. For the best experience, we recommend being able to move freely when playing.
