Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the lock’s technology. Just to clarify, the Level Lock uses a touch to-lock and touch-to-unlock feature rather than a fingerprint scanner—meaning you can lock and unlock it by simply touching the lock when your phone is nearby.

If you have any questions or need help with your lock, feel free to reach out anytime. We’re here to support you! levelhome

THIS… IS the Level Lock + and it is the first upgrade I did to my recently purchased home! Lets be honest, changing locks and door handles has never been fun… Until the Level Lock + came into the picture. I have had other brands, a keypad lock and then an other brand name ‘smart’ lock. The problem with these is that they are either massive, you forget the codes, or just general pain in the neck use - but to the past the Level Lock sent them! Homekit integration into the lock allows you to ‘tap’ to unlock your front door, making it super convenient for not only you, but anyone you send the virtual key to. No iphone or someone that would work better with a code? Temporary and permanent door codes for the touchpad allow anyone that can put in a pin number to unlock the front door, along side two hotel style key cards that also tap to unlock the front door - and the best part…. You can revoke or turn off any and all virtual cards, pin numbers and even the physical key cards at any time. Lets kick it off with instillation, setup is identical to swapping deadbolts. After all, it is the exact same size and dimension as any other deadbolt… just a lot smarter! After installation, you are ushered to making an account to set up the lock and sort out all the settings… and thats it! No extra special attachments required outside of a bridge that you plug in for wifi connectivity that allows the Level Lock+ to connect to wifi without having to be plugged into an outlet. The last and final step is to install the keypad which was the easiest part, simply find a spot and two screws later you are all set up. I was really wowed by the fact that I can send both temporary and permanent codes for the keypad and virtual cards. The only downside to the virtual cards for guest is that they have to download the level account and app, however, if they frequent enough you will find this hiccup worth the trouble. This is also where the Keypad really shines, my grandparents come over to let me Wife and I’s dogs out while we are at work at the hospital. They don’t have iphones and sometimes can forget their code, but if they shoot us a call we can just unlock the door from our phone which is super awesome. Something that has become more useful overtime is that the door will use geofencing, or your spot on a map, to auto unlock and lock your doors when you arrive home and leave, respectively. You would think that I would find it more useful to unlock, but the security in my head knowing that the door is locked when I leave, regardless if I remember to lock it back, is unparalleled. If I ever have any questions or thoughts though, I can see the locks activity (who was using it and how) and lock it back should anyone forget. The lock comes with two physical key cards (think like a hotel), and while I don’t use them or really have any reason to - I gave one out to my parents so they don’t have to fiddle with the app, but this is something that will be amazing for kids to use. The best part? If a kid looses the key card, you can get 4 more or 4 key fobs for just $20 and disconnect the old card from your account so it no longer opens your doors! Gone are the days of the missing front door key lol. What this all sums up to be really in the end, is that this is not only a great looking lock that retains its normal shape, form and function - but also incorporates the largest suite of features, executed at a phenomenal level. I mean, there is really nothing I can sit here and fault level for or nit pick…? This is truly the be all end all for convenience, kids, grandparents and the ‘oh sh*! did I lock the door?!’ moments because when you pick this lock, you are picking to secure the most vital point of your home, the gateway into it! The best part, you can try this worry free thanks to bestbuys awesome return policy! This is an expensive product no doubt, and anything like this will have a trail period with the family. As always, Bestbuy has an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… so why not test it out?! Quick Information =============== - The level lock uses CR2 batteries that are placed in the deadbolt slide, I found it to seem generally physically comparable to any other deadbolt and wasn’t able to easily bend or crimp the deadbolt slide with my pliers and I really cranked on it! -You are married to the deadbolt in the Lock+ as in you cannot swap it out, if that kills the deal for you then I would usher you to the Level Bolt which allows you to use almost any deadbolt (they claim ~80%) and retain some of the functions as the level lock, but none of the fun Key Cards, NFC and really selling features of this lock. ~This lock works with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Ring. ~The lock does have a matching handle, it is the OMNIA 943

I've tried many smart locks over the years and they've all compromised somewhere, whether being very bulky, poor battery life, weak motor, you name it there was some short comings. The Level lock is the first lock I've tried that seems to blend entirely into my house and I love it. Installing the lock is incredibly simple. Due to its unique design it actually installs just like a normal lock. The strike plate and deadbolt plate were a lot thicker than my existing deadbolt so I did have to make some cuts to the door to get it to fit. But once I did everything screwed right together. Setting everything up was pretty quirky. The Level app itself is ok and guides you through most steps, but I had some trouble getting home kit to work. But after several attempts it finally worked. Connecting the lock to my google home was really simple, just like any other "works with google" device. It locks and unlocks perfectly in the google home app. The Level lock itself is kind of quirky. It offers some nice features like auto unlock and lock, though I've seen mixed results with the auto lock feature. I've noticed my lock not locking on its own several times. My biggest problem with the lock is the UI and not being able to easily tell if the lock is locked or unlocked. One of the biggest selling points for this lock is the home key integration. Again here set-up wasn't super straight forward because there isn't much instructions. Eventually a notification just popped up to add home key and then it just showed up in my wallet on my phone and watch. It works really well. I just hold my watch up and the door unlocks. I really like that I don't even need to open the wallet app. One huge downside here though is you have to have an apple tv or homepod as a hub to be able to share the home key with other people. So since we don't have one my wife can't use home key. Apart from all this the lock also comes with a keypad. It works well and connects to the lock easy. It's built well and overall works. Though I think it kind of takes away from the hidden smart home look so not sure if I'll keep it in the long run. Overall this is a great option for a smart lock. It checks every box possible and works with every smart home out there.

Installation couldn't be easier - just six screws and a set screw and boom, it really is a no brainer. One thing to be aware of when installing, unlike my previous locks, you do have to take the old bolt and strike plate out of the door and frame and use the supplied Level Lock bolt since this is where the battery goes rather than in a box on the back of the door. I think the coolest thing about the Level Lock is that no one knows you have a smart lock unless you tell them. Once installed, the Level Lock looks and acts like any deadbolt lock - with the addition of the smart features. Pairing with my phones, both Apple and Google was seamless and straightforward as was adding additional family members to the Level app. The only thing to note here is each user should have their own account rather than sharing one account among the family. Using the Level Lock Plus offers numerous ways to lock and unlock. The first is by simply touching the exterior of the lock. This method does require you have your phone with you and the app permissions set accordingly. Next is by using the included key cards, once set up, just tap the card to the front of the lock and it opens just like a hotel door. Another way is by enabling the Auto Unlock feature. Once the lock recognizes your phone within range, the lock will unlock - again as long as the app is configured with the correct permissions. Finally, you can use a physical key. But wait, there’s more! Level Lock Plus will connect with Apple HomeKit if you have a home hub like Apple TV or HomePod. Using the lock with Apple HomeKit also gives you the new Apple Home Key allowing you to activate the lock by just tapping your iPhone or Apple Watch to the lock. Setting this up enables HomeKey for all members of your Apple Family without having to program it to each phone. And with the addition of the included Level Connect module, you can now connect to Google Home and Amazon Alexa as well. Using voice/home assistants adds internet connectivity to the lock as well routines, voice control and remote capabilities. The Level Connect module is backwards compatible and works with original Level Locks but it will not work with multiple locks at the same time. On a personal note using Apple HomeKit, I found using my Apple TV as my hub, connectivity was sometimes spotty due to the distance between devices and Bluetooth limitations. I did purchase a HomePod Mini to increase connectivity which resolved that problem. As if this isn't enough ways to open your door, this bundle also includes a fully programmable keypad. You can assign codes to anyone who needs them. This would be very handy if this is being used on short term rental properties like Airbnb or VRBO. When programming your 4-6 digit codes, you choose whether they are permanent or temporary - setting dates and times to allow admission. The Level Keypad is also backwards compatible and only works with one lock at a time. I love the minimalist look of the Level Lock Plus and have highly recommended it to my friends and anyone looking for a stylish full featured smart lock.

Excels at Convenience/Looks, Falters on Security

The Lock+ by Level is the first "smart" deadbolt that looks like it's not a smart lock, having a classic, timeless design that can fit with any existing setup, all while giving you some added functionality and convenience. However, this all comes with a huge security flaw that honestly should've been rectified prior to releasing this lock. First, I'll expand on the positives. As mentioned above, this lock truly does not look like a smart lock from the outside. In my opinion (and likely the opinion of many out there), this is a huge positive. The class of devices that basically look like a tablet bolted to your door are quite invasive and ugly to look at, so this design is a major breath of fresh air. They've managed to do this while including all the benefits of your usual smart lock, including wireless based unlock capabilities (including the NFC cards that are included), along with a keypad. Since the keypad is completely wireless, this allows you utmost flexibility in installation. In my case, I've mounted this on the back side of one of the poles on our front porch, helping to maintain the effects of the minimalist design of the deadbolt while giving you some nice convenience. However, I've had a number of issues with the keypad working reliably. Seems like there's a lag time with this thing that causes it to either delay opening the lock or to just miss key presses altogether. Unfortunate, given the potential for this to be a huge selling point. Beyond the keypad, integrations with Google Home (which is what I use for home automation) work reasonably well, giving you a streamlined automation process that's in line with other devices around the home. Finally, the battery storage is pretty brilliant; the battery is stored in the bolt cylinder, and not on the inside of the lock mechanism, which again lends to a completely streamlined and minimalist looking lock. I had concerns that this may compromise the integrity and strength of the bolt, but from what I can tell, and based on the security rankings of the Lock+, this seems to have not negatively impacted the security. Overall, this feels close to a perfect implementation of a smart lock... Except when you consider the negatives. As mentioned above, the keypad is an unfortunate miss. It simply doesn't work reliably enough to bank on. As an Android user, it feels like the integration with Android was half baked, since some of the main features are only available on iOS. As an Android user, this type of segmentation is frustrating. These two specific issues aren't my main issue, however. The key cylinder used in this lock has been showed to be subpar at best for security. While it's wonderful that Level included the ability to use physical keys with this lock, the fact that they skimped on the hardware and included a cylinder that's so simple to pick is really problematic. At this price point, one would expect the cylinder to be at least somewhat upgraded and secure. I say this knowing the old adage of "if someone wants to get in, they'll find a way" applies to smart locks as much as regular deadbolts. However, I feel that Level should've made an effort to include a base level secure key cylinder that was so susceptible to picking. On that note, however, a huge positive is that this lock has a standardized cylinder fitting, meaning I'm able to upgrade this to something much better. Still, given the price, that shouldn't need to be a consideration. Overall, the Lock+ feels just off the mark of a perfect smart lock. Aesthetics and convenience give this the makings of a phenomenal device, but the negatives definitely make me pull back on my excitement. For Android users or those hyper focused on actual security (which likely should be a foundational focus for anyone looking at deadbolts), this unfortunately is a miss for me.

This review is for the Level - Lock+ Connect with Keypad. And the first thing I noticed when unboxing was the high end build quality. You can tell this is no ordinary deadbolt just by the feel. All my doors have smart deadbolts on them but this Level lock+ is by fast the smallest of them all. It is the same size and shape as a regular deadbolt. After installed there are no signs of this being a smart lock at all. And the install is vert simple, If you have installed a standard deadbolt before, you can install this one. Even if you never have the steps are easy to follow. I’m already a user of Level locks so I had the app. But if you don’t it can be found at your app store. Pairing with the lock after installation was fast and easy. And it works with Apple Home, Google Home, Ring and Alexa. I tested with both Google home and Alexa. And worked well. I find the Level app easy to navigate. Now I did run into a little issue when installing. With my old deadbolt I had to pull the door in just a little bit to lock it. For the Level lock to work right it needs to be able to lock without pulling on the door. After a minor adjustment of the strike plate on the jam side of the door, this issue was resolved. This unit has some options when it comes time to use your smart lock. Comes with a wireless key pad you can mount outside some where and enter a code to lock and unlock, Also come with two credit card size keys you can just hand out for your guess to use when visiting. And the ability to use your Apple watch or an iPhone as a key or just the level app it’s self and last you can go old fashion and just use a regular key. At the end of the day if you want a smart deadbolt with out the big bulky box on the inside of your door like most other deadbolt locks. This unit is very sleek and minimalist.

It's like a 'stealth' smart lock

I've owned many smart locks over the years and in general I've had positive experiences with them, but they all tend to be built in a similar method, a large inside (and sometimes outside) panel that holds the logic, the batteries and potentially a keypad that detracts from the overall look of the door. That's why when the Level Lock smart locks became available I was so interested. The Wife Acceptance Factor of a lock that doesnt LOOK like a piece of technology is a massive help in this regard. To start, it's packaged much like you'd expect, white box with all the parts you'd need (indoor and outdoor lock parts, inside the door lock mechanism, battery, keypad and mounting hardware). The matte black color is nice although it doesnt 'quite' match the oil-rubbed bronze look that I was hoping it would do. I feel like black is a less common color in door hardware than oil rubbed bronze, but the company does not offer that as an option (they do have a satin nickel option, but it would have not matched my handle hardware). Installation is straightforward, I would argue a bit more straightforward than many smart locks because the mechanism is fairly 'self contained' since the motor is inside the lock mechanism rather than the large indoor panel on most smart locks. The battery sits inside the deadbolt itself which while the company states it meets all security standards still makes me wonder when compared to a solid piece of metal. A quick note on the battery, it ships with a non-rechargeable Lithium CR2 battery which is where I really dinged it for that one star. I feel like it's a miss to not ship with a rechargeable battery, especially since the battery size is so uncommon. I will be trying a rechargeable version of this battery in the door once the shipped battery dies. Once installed, app setup and smart home integration is pretty simple. Set up your account, pair the lock, configure and test. I let my Alexa auto-detect it once the app was configured and it was easily added to the routines that I had already configured for my home. All in all I do like the lock, it's a nice clean look which is a huge departure from the ugly indoor or outdoor panels of most other smart locks. I wish they'd been more thoughtful with the lock color as black is uncommon. But the biggest issue is the type of battery. Had it come with a rechargeable lithium battery I would have been much more impressed, particularly at this price range.

Wow, this lock is so convenient! no more fumbling for my keys to open the door. My husband installed this lock in about 20 minutes with ease. Instructions are easy to follow. The lock has many great features that we are learning to use. Being able to lock and unlock our door from anywhere is awesome! We can let friends/family in and view live activity feed on the app. The app allows you know the status of your lock at anytime. We have not used the control with our Alexa or Apple Home but hope to learn how soon. Using our Iphone or apple watch to unlock the door is so helpful when your hands are full. The lock comes with a keypad that you can discretely hid so there is no sign of technology on the inside or outside of your home! The convenient key code access can be used the included keypad - making it great for contractors/cleaners/etc. A CR2 battery is included and can easily be replaced when needed. This has been a great upgrade for our home and one that we didn't know we would love so much!

All in One Smart Lock Kit

I picked up this kit to replace an older, regular lock. I have the Level Lock Touch version on another exterior door, and I really liked the Homekit integration, and I wanted the next smart lock I got to support Homekit and support Apple digital keys. This kit checked all the boxes for me. If you've ever installed a Level Lock before, then this will be pretty straightforward, and the documents with the kit do a good job of walking you through the install. Honestly, all you need is a screwdriver set with both philips and flathead bits, and you'll be golden. This is one of those tasks that doesn't require you to be as handy as you'd think. In the box, you get the Level Lock +, wireless keypad, and the WiFi adapter. Honestly, I didn't need the WiFi connector. That's only required if you want to pair your Level Lock+ with Google Home or Amazon Alexa. The lock and keypad work with Apple's Homekit right out of the box. I had this thing installed, paired with my Homekit setup, codes assigned for my wife and kids, and a pass for us all in our Apple Wallets in less than 30 minutes, and most of that was spent taking off the older, original lock. I found the digital key in Apple Wallet to be a bit finicky, you basically have to have the top of the phone directly over the lock for it to register, the NFC field isn't that far. The part of the set up that took the most time was getting the keypad and lock to register with eachother and then the subsiquent firmware update. It's a curse and a blessing... I want the thing to work right out of the box, but I also appreciate a company that pushes out frequent updates. There's also 2 Level Keycards and 2 standard, pre-cut keys in the kit, which is nice because even if the Level Lock+ can't connect, or the battery is dead, you can still physically unlock the door with the key. If you're an Apple Homekit user and you want a nice set up for a smart lock, this kit has everything you need.

My review is for the Level Lock+ Connect with Keypad Smart Lock Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Replacement Deadbolt with App / Keypad / Key Access in the Satin Nickel finish. Let me start by saying the lock is exquisitely made as if it were a high-quality watch. Everything from the door plates to the internal locking mechanism have a very clean look and design, even though the lock itself will be hidden away internally inside the door. The initial installation was a bit intimidating as instructions are a little spartan. Fortunately, I have installed enough door handles and deadbolts to know what to do and the actual physical installation went smoothly once I matched up plates and screws to replace the old deadbolt. Since door plates vary in size, I might eventually need to fill in areas left exposed by the new plate with some wood putty and touchup paint. After installation, I placed the old deadbolt parts and keys into a plastic baggie to save in the event we move so that I can take the Level lock with me and reinstall the old lock. Once installed, I was quickly amazed at how many ways there are now to lock/unlock our front door. Included in the kit is a numeric key pad to mount outside near the door, two key cards for keyless entry, and last but not least, access by Level’s smartphone app. With the included WiFi device, you can access your front door from anywhere you have cell phone coverage and you can even use Amazon’s Alexa or Google Home to operate the lock with voice commands. We use Alexa and for example, I can ask Alexa if the door is locked or unlocked from anywhere I have an Alexa device. For those family members nervous about new technology or don’t have a smartphone, there are two standard keys that will work even when all else fails. I probably will never use the key cards, since if someone steals my wallet, they will have the card to enter and have my address from my driver’s license. I suppose I could give these to family members instead of making new keys or having them install another app on their phone. The smartphone app on my Apple iPhone is simple and straightforward to set up and use. You can invite family members to have door lock access and this can be set up either permanently or for temporary use, accessing them from your phone’s Contact list. The app also keeps track of all lock activity so you have a complete history of when the lock was used and who used it. You can even set up routines to automatically lock or unlock the door upon leaving or arriving home. Level gives you complete control and you can customize the lock to meet your security needs, even if they change over time. Never again will I have to worry about wondering if I forgot to lock the front door.
