I just bought this product. I cleaned the tank and everything. I even tried all methods to get it up and running. Still the please fill with water indicator continues to turn on. The truth is Levoit is a company I regret purchasing from because their products are possibly the worst humidifiers on the market and i am now convinced this product was created as a joke to make customers upset and waste hard earned money. I will never buy from this company again in my life unless they sell “prank humidifiers” that say they dont work in the description. I urge customers to go with more reliable companies.

I had been using a Aircare humidifier for the last few years - which was working fine for the most part. However I was always looking for a more 'high-tech' humidifier if I ever saw one which seemed odd to me given how simple this technology is in general - water runs over a wick and a fan blows air over it, right? However once I saw this item it seemed like it would fit the bill. First off - the overall look of this humidifier breaks the mold of a typical ugly plastic item sitting in your room. This humidifier is beautiful and looks like something Apple would design. Like my old aircare humidifier this item holds six gallons of water - which is a must for me living in Minneapolis in the winter with the super dry air - I can use 2-3 gallons of water in a day and don't want to fill up a small tank all the time. The app that you use with this product is great - well designed and shows your humidity level and fan speeds over time and current humidity level and you can control the device via the app if you like or right on the humidifier itself. The display of the humidifier is very bright and well designed and looks high tech. Using the auto mode it will maintain a desired humidity level - adjusting the fan speed to get humidity to the right level quicker if necessary but overall it runs at a normal fan speed when it cycles on and off. I really appreciate how the fan directs the air straight up - so it hits the ceiling and generally gets directed outward from there so it circulates the humidified air effeciently in the room.
The water pump if very quiet - you probably won't even hear it sucking up water to drip over the 4 wicks. I like that each of the four wicks have a frame around them and is sucks in air from all four sides of the device and forces it upward after passing through the wicks.
Cleaning is super easy - I usually just wipe out the water tank well before refilling and dry off the middle tank piece. The device is well designed and all the pieces fit together perfectly - unlike my old aircare humidifier.
I've only been using this device for about 1.5 months now - but so far really love this. I will clean the filters as needed but have ordered spare filters to replace when needed.
I was a little nervous about not being able to use any bactiorstat water treatment like my old humidifier required - however I do prefer not having to put chemicals into the water and breathing them - just simple water is healthier for sure.
When filled with 6 gallons of water - the wheels work fine on hard surface but as you'd expect extra care is needed on carpet due to the extra weight - I just grab the lip of the tank and lift up slightly to wheel on carpet and it's fine.

It's seems to work we'll but I don't understand the humidistat on the unit, the unit says the humidity is 60% but the Accurite weather station that is literally 4 feet from it says its 47% humidity. Hmmm!!

First, the Levoit humidifier performs brilliantly. We had one humidifier, and with two back-to-back Arctic Storms delivering extreme dry cold and with heaters running almost nonstop we could not keep our home humidity in a comfortable range. The old humidifier was a high-quality unit but could not keep up and maintain a comfortable range.
Enter the Levoit Superior 6000S. Included in the box is the humidifier itself, quick start guide, full owner’s manual, storage bag, cleaning brush and fill hose.
Out of the box some assembly is required as the humidifier is in 4 parts to allow it to be stored compactly. Assembly was quick and easy with easy-to-follow guides both on the box itself and in the quick start guide. Additionally, the box and user guide have instructions on how to quickly store the humidifier. Humidifier breaks down almost half its size for easy storage. The Minimalist design and white and black color scheme fit in nicely with the décor of the home.
After the quick setup of the Superior 6000S humidifier and with unit running on auto mode our whole home hit the sweet humidity spot within thirty minutes. Each room was at 50% humidity which is perfect for our room temperature.
A 6-gallon tank easily lasts days and is effortless to fill using the included hose and funnel. This humidifier can be used with tap water straight from our sink, I recommend built-in water filter. Wheels on the bottom of the humidifier allow it to easily be moved across my house on both carpet and hard floors. It is claimed the tank can last up to 72 hours and this is reflected during my usage once the humidifier is maintaining a specific level.
This humidifier works by using a large fan to draw water through filters and evaporate into the surrounding air. In practice this technology is very efficient and superior to traditional humidifiers which still use heating elements and produce a stream of mist. The humidified air from the Levoit system is invisible and mist-free. Fan is very quiet, even on its highest setting and can output a surprising amount of humidified air.
Levoit states that the humidifier can humidify a space up to 3,000 square feet. This is shown in practice, after only an hour the humidifier increased the humidity of my whole house from 40% to 50% and easily maintained a comfortable humidity with a lower fan speed. Within the first 24 hours the humidifier output almost 3 gallons of water into the air. Am very impressed at how quickly and efficiently this humidifier can make air comfortable in large spaces.
Humidifier has a few modes to choose from including auto, manual fan speed, and target humidity. The auto mode automatically determines the optimal humidity according to the current temperature in the room. It also has a night mode which keeps the fan at a lower setting. The top of the device has an LCD display for monitoring humidity percentage as well.
VeSync app allows for remote control and monitoring from a smartphone. Initial setup with the app took minutes. Simply created an account and linked humidifier to Wi-Fi. Usage of the app is important as it prompted a firmware update upon initial setup. App also tracks filter life which is recommended to be changed every 3 months. A “dry” mode can be activated which thoroughly dries out the filters to prolong filter life during usage and storage.
My family all realized how much more comfortable we felt right away, breathing was easier, skin stopped feeling dry, and there was no longer static electricity in the home. The wife greatly enjoys it as it keeps her plants at an optimal humidity range.
Huge bonus for Plant Lovers, the Levoit offers a highly evolved system of fine tuning your home’s humidity for your specific plants. The App offers in-depth plant care listings, overall care, and food/watering schedules for many species of the following plant categories:
• Foliage
• Flowering
• Succulents & Cacti
• Vegetables
• Shrubs
Overall, the Levoit Superior 6000S Humidifier is the best of the best for those wanting complete comfort for the entire house.
Highly Recommended

Humidifies My Entire House!

Humidifiers are imperative in my home. We have been having recurring dry spells in the area that cause my family and I to suffer from dry skin to the point that it hurts. Additionally, my little one constantly gets sick after going through the pandemic years without catching a single cold and humidifiers are the best when dealing with congestion. Since I already own a smaller Levoit, adding the Superior 6000S Smart Evaporative Humidifier to the smart ecosystem was effortless.
Assembling this humidifier was simple despite its large size. The instructions are everywhere, including the box, and it is all intuitive and straightforward. I love the included hose to fill it from the sink. It even fit over the large pull-down nozzle of my kitchen sink. The tank is very large and six gallons of water, I have had the humidifier running daily for almost a week and the tank has only used up a gallon. I love that I can use tap water for this unit. My other units have me constantly purchasing distilled water. The one downside is that I will eventually have to replace the wick filters.
So far, the reading of the humidity sensor has been spot on. I have a bearded dragon close to where I placed it and have been monitoring the humidity in his enclosure to ensure that the humidifier’s placement was not overly moistening his environment and the readings always match. Furthermore, the reading in my bedroom humidifier is always right around the same too. This humidifier reaches every corner of my 1,500 sq ft single level home. The only time I need to run my other humidifiers is at night, when the bedroom doors are closed and the heater dries out the air.
The humidifier connects to an app called VeSync, which I already had installed, and it found and connected to the unit right away. Using the app, the indoor humidity can be tracked with an easy-to-read graph showing the overall trend of over the course of the day and week. The unit can be turned on and off, the target humidity adjusted, a schedule or timer can be added, the display can be switched on or off, and the filter life can be viewed. The app will also alert you if it is out of water and when it is time to clean it. If you get this humidifier, be sure to activate “Dry Mode” in the settings. It automatically dries out the wick filter to extend their life span and to prevent mold whenever the unit is off.
The water should be replaced about once a week and the unit allowed to dry to prevent mold and bacterial growth. Cleaning is so easy because it is large and straightforward to assemble and disassemble. The only issue I can find is, if it still has a lot of water, dumping the content may be heavy. If you expect that the outdoor humidity will not be too low, I suggest just not filling it to the top if heavy lifting is an issue.
The only negative I find about the until is that it blows cold air. Unlike other humidifiers, it has no warm feature, so sometimes the kids complain that it is making them cold, and I have to run the heater, which in turn dries the air…and the cycle continues. I also wish it had the option for aromatherapy, but that is more of a luxury I suppose.
Overall, I am glad to have added this unit to my humidifier collection. My household will benefit from this one the most when whenever dry air and Santa Ana winds come around.

The Levoit Superior 6000S is a smart evaporative humidifier that combines advanced technology with user-friendly features. The design is modern and has wheels so it can be moved around easily. The large capacity is great allowing long running time between fillings and the ability to humidify large spaces.
The six-gallon water tank ensures extended operation without frequent refills, making it suitable for large spaces or whole-house use. This generous capacity reduces the need for constant monitoring and provides continuous relief from dry air. The tank is filled by removing the top section and filling the tank through a circular opening through the wicking frame or removing the frame and filling the tank. Levoit gives you a hose with a fitting for a faucet. I did not like the hose the fitting does not allow fast filling with the water squirting out if you run it in too fast. I found using gallon jugs and pouring the water though the round opening the fastest way to fill the tank. The unit used about 2 gallons a night to humidify my bedroom to 50%.
The unit has washable wicking filters you should clean every 1-3 months, they give you a brush to do this without damaging them. The Levoit Superior 6000S simplifies maintenance, saving on replacement costs and minimizing disposable waste.
The intuitive control panel and mobile app allow users to customize humidity levels, set timers, and create schedules. Smart sensors continuously monitor ambient conditions, ensuring optimal humidity for comfort. The Automatic setting works the best for me, set the Humidity level you want and the unit will raise and lower the fan speed as needed to achieve your humidity target. If you want to minimize the fan noise the dedicated sleep mode minimizes noise levels for a peaceful night's rest. You can even turn the display off if you want complete darkness.
You can use the VeSync app to control your humidifier from your smart phone. Standard functions that duplicate the panel buttons are Turn the humidifier on/off, cycle through fan speed levels, turn Auto Mode on/off, set target humidity level. turn Sleep Mode on/off, turn the display on/off, turn the display lock on/off. Additional functions available only through the app are Manage filter life, Check current humidity levels in the humidifier’s environment and the smart functions Auto home and Auto away. Auto Home Mode to automatically adjusts humidity levels based on the current room temperature. Auto Away Mode automatically adjusts humidity levels based on the current room temperature. You can also aet a timer for 1–24 hours. You can also connect the Humidifier to Alexa or Google Home using the app
In my opinion The Levoit Superior 6000S Smart Evaporative Humidifier is an easy to use solution for humidity control. Its six-gallon capacity, washable elements, and customizable settings make it a great choice for combating dry air and ensuring comfort in your living space. Good bye dry nose, dry eyes and itchy skin!

The Levoit Superior 6000S humidifier is a high capacity unit for large homes that need to humidify most/all areas of the home. This humidifier comes with several nice features including app capability and a hose attachment for easy refilling with tap water from the sink. Overall, this machine has several nice features that make it more convenient to use during dry months.
Setup:
Setting up the unit is very simple out of the box. The quick start instructions are printed on the box as well as included as a separate booklet inside the box. It shouldn’t take any more than 120 minutes to get it physically set up and ready to be connected to the app and filled with water. Once connected to power, setup via the app was seamless and unlocked several nice controls including turning it on/off, set humidity targets, timers, and schedule drying of the filters.
In addition to the app you can use the on unit controls to do much of the same functions.
Usage:
After turning the unit on, you will see a readout of current humidity levels within your house. In the dry months of winter, you may see readings in the 20% range which is very dry. The good news is this machine can quickly add humidity to the air in a matter of minutes or hours depending on the square footage of the house, the current humidity levels, and the air circulation. You can set target humidity levels between 20-80% with this humidifier (although I wouldn’t recommend going that high). The six gallon tank is quite large although if you’re using the humidifier on “high” in a dry environment it may require refilling within 24-48 hours. The “low” fan speed is my preferred setting given it is very quiet while the “high” setting isn’t terrible for usage in a basement or utility room, it will be fairly loud for usage in a living space. Once you have a target humidity level set, the unit will regulate when it runs and at what speed the fan runs. This will use very little water so the tank can last many days. There is a “dry mode” which will dry out the filter to help prevent mold build up. When you are ready to fill the tank, included is a nice sink adapter to direct water past the fan, into the tank. It can be heavy/hard to push once filled so it may be a good idea to only fill part way until you know how much water you may need over a given period of time
Likes:
- Easy Setup
- Simple Controls
- Sink Adapter
- App Integration
- Strong Performance
- Large Tank
Dislikes:
- Close proximity to sink for adapter
Overall:
The Levoit 6000S proved to be a functional humidifier with simple controls and a fairly long lasting water tank. The app makes controlling the unit easier and its auto modes worked very well. I would highly recommend checking out this humidifier if you need one to humidify a large area or your whole house.

A strong machine to humidify an entire room

Verdict: The Levoit Superior 6000s humidifier works well enough to quickly humidify an entire room. While the refill method limits location options, this machine comes with great features to improve the convenience of this machine.
Setup. Putting together the machine appears a bit complicated at first, but the convenient Quick Start Guide helps to setup the machine pretty quickly. While the hose adapter makes adding water to the machine easy, the machine needs to be close to a faucet to fill; the reservoir is really too big to fill any other way. Once full, the machine is quite heavy, and difficult to move even with the wheels. There are four paper filters to install (after removing the plastic packaging), and then the cover goes right on top. The machine turns on with one press of the power button. From there, it’s possible to adjust the settings on the touchpad or using the app.
App. The machine uses the VeSync app, which I already had from other devices. App setup was easy and worthwhile. Through the app, you can turn the machine on and off, set humidity goals, program timers, and schedule periodic drying of the filters. The app doesn’t offer a ton of features, but enough to add useful and convenient functionality to the humidifier.
Initial impressions. The machine is quiet on low setting, but reasonably quiet on the highest setting. Humidifier performance is quite good, as reflected on the percentage humidity level on the machine screen, and verified by a separate sensor we have in the house.
Performance. Getting this machine in the middle of winter was fantastic timing. Our house gets quite dry during winter between the heater and the hard wood on the first floor. On the highest sitting, the machine will use the entire reservoir in about 10 hours and raise the humidity level about 20 percentage points. On low setting, the machine will humidify for about two full days before running out of water. It’s possible to set the humidity target and the machine will turn on and off automatically to achieve and maintain the desired humidity level.
Things I like:
- Handy quick-start guide
- Easy to use control panel
- Convenient hose adapter
- Useful app features
- Powerful humidifier performance
- Large reservoir
Things I don’t like:
- The unit is hard to move once full
- For convenience, the unit should probably be located near a faucet to ease filling
Overall, this is a high-performing humidifier that is easy to use with great features, all at a fair price. On low setting, you can set it and forget for a few days while it automatically regulates humidity in your house. The app adds convenient features. I highly recommend the Levoit Superior 6000s humidifier.

**Levoit Superior 6000S Smart Evaporative Humidifier Review**
I recently got my hands on the Levoit Superior 6000S Smart Evaporative Humidifier, and it's been a pleasant experience overall. The build quality is silid, and the unboxing and assembly process was a breeze. The smart integration is seamless with an easy-to-install app, although it's worth noting that it only pairs with Alexa and Google, leaving HomeKit users like me out in the cold.
The design for refilling water is clever, utilizing a hose funnel to avoid the hassle of lifting a hefty 6-gallon tank. It's a practical approach, though I do have my reservations. I’d actually prefer to pick the tank up and fill from the sink so that I can walk away while it fills. It’s not exactly a quick job, and who wants to get on thier haunches to watch a water level meter of something sitting on the floor. Unfortunately, the tank's walls are not the thickest, and without handles, it tends to warp under the weight when picked up, making me hesitant to fill it directly from the sink.
Levoit recommends keeping the humidifier at least 12 inches away from walls to prevent moisture buildup. This can be a bit tricky to manage, depending on your space. I've settled for placing it in front of our open stair rails, though a longer cord would certainly offer more flexibility in positioning.
As for operation, the humidifier is remarkably quiet at its maximum fan speed, emitting a soothing sound that's perfect for households with newborns – it might even let you skip the white noise machine. However, it's worth noting that the sound is perceptible and can be a slight distraction during TV time. The fan offers nine-speed settings, and I found that at level three, it becomes virtually inaudible, ideal for maintaining humidity levels without any disturbance.
In conclusion, the Levoit Superior 6000S is a well-built, smart, and efficient humidifier, ideal for those looking for a hassle-free way to improve their indoor air quality. While it has its quirks, such as the app compatibility and refill design, its performance and quiet operation make it a worthy addition to any home.

The Levoit Superior 6000s Evaporative Smart Humidifier is great at humifying a room but has some major drawbacks that makes me question the longevity of this unit. I am currently using this to replace an ultrasonic misting humidifier in my acoustic guitar room.
Pros: This thing has a MASSIVE water basin and will bring the rooms humidity up very fast. In my tests so far, I can increase the humidity of a room 20% in a few minutes. The humidifier will automatically stop humidifying when the desired humidity level is reached. Since I live in a dry desert environment, most humidifiers work overtime to get anywhere over 35%. I have this set at 42% and it runs for 1 minute ever half hour or so to keep the rooms humidity between 37% and 42%. I have 8 hydrometers setup all around the room and the humidifier reading matches all the sensors with a modification. More on this later. I have do doubt this thing could last me a week if being used to maintain a bedroom that is used as an acoustic guitar room. Using the VeSync app, I can monitor the rooms current humidity, the history charts of the humidity, how many times the humidifier turns on, and change settings on the fly anywhere in the world as long as the internet is working. Another plus is that this thing uses plain tap water and will not create a white powder on all the furniture like an ultrasonic mist humidifier does if you don’t use purified/filtered/distilled water. The performance of this evaporative humidifier is amazing and combine with the 6 gallon reservoir, this thing is a beast.
Con 1: The humidity sensor on this thing is poorly placed. For the first few days the humidifier would not turn on because it was reading the humidity inside the unit. I had set the humidifier level at 45% and the 8 hygrometers I have in the room were reading 31%. The flaw of the sensor location is that it is recessed into the fan unit, so it is always enclosed in the area where the water is evaporating. The sensor does not “sense” the humidity in the air outside of the unit very well. I solved this buy hanging a computer fan on the outside of the sensor and have it blow the room air into the sensor holes. With this modification, the sensor now accurately senses the rooms humidity level and is now in-sync with all the hygrometers spread across the room within +/- 1%. So, I have to waste a bit more electricity to achieve an accurate humidity measurement. Eventually I will 3D print a stand to more elegantly align the fan behind the sensor holes. This could be improved by Levoit by placing the sensor on the outside of the unit or design a fan to suck in the air from the outside to get an accurate reading. Again for 2 days the humidifier didn’t run because it was not sensing the true room air but instead was being affected by the internal humidity levels of the unit. Since my use case was protecting expensive wooden acoustic guitars, I don’t mind spending the electricity to power a computer fan to blow air onto the sensor. This should be a design upgrade for the next iteration.
Con 2: This keeps me up at night. The evaporative humidifier uses four (4) small specifically designed wick filters to keep impurities out of the air. This allows the user to just use tap water. I can’t imagine trying to fill 6 gallons of distilled water or purified water in this system every week. Levoit recommends replacing the filter every 3-6 months. On the website a four pack of filters cost $39.99 and is out of stock. These are disposable filter and reading online, a lot of people with hard water can only get one (1) month out of these filters without building up a bunch of crud. Since these filters are non-washable, I seriously question the cost-effectiveness of running this evaporative humidifier year after year when you factor in the price of filters. Also, the only place I can find that has these filters in stock is Amazon as they are routinely sold out on the Levoit website. I will be looking into the possibility of replacing these filters with washable filters because I fear that if this humidifier does not pick up in popularity as compared to other more frequently used evaporative humidifiers such as the Honeywell Vornado, you will run out of filters to use. There is a hope that if more people use this evaporative humidifier that perhaps more cost-effective wick filters will be produced. If the filters were to last 6 months, then $40 investment every 6 months does not seem bad, but if the internet is correct and these disposable filters only last 1 month, I would seriously doubt the long-term cost effectiveness of this humidifier.
In summary, as an evaporative humidifier, this thing does its job very well. I am thoroughly impressed at this unit’s ability to bring up and maintain a level of humidity with an extremely large reservoir that does not require daily monitoring of water level. Levoit missed the mark on humidity sensor that requires a bit of ingenuity to have it accurately measure the rooms true humidity. I have major concerns on the long-term support of wick filters for this unit if it does not become more commonly used in households around the world and its cost effectiveness in replacing filters frequently.

Set-up: Assembly was easy; it took less than five minutes to set it up and connect it to the app.
Design: Its large high-capacity evaporative humidifier with a 6-gallon tank on wheels makes it easier to handle when filled with water. It comes with a hose for filling the tank. Storage is easy as its top part drops into the bottom part of the humidifier for easy storing in a small cabinet.
Features:
• Evaporative Humidifier: I prefer the evaporative humidifier over the ultrasonic type because it circulates air to maintain consistent humidity levels in a large home and prevent water condensation, wet mist, or white dust near the humidifier.
• Premium Filtration: It came with a premium filter that fits in a wick filter basket. This filter traps the impurities in the tap water and is supposed to last 3+ months with continuous use. It can be easily dried out with the "dry mode" setting before storing it away.
• High Capacity (6 Gallon) tank : It can run all day or several days, depending on the indoor humidity and the humidity level settings. Mine ran for a week without the need to refill it, with the humidity level set at 50%. It only took a few hours to raise the humidity from 33% to 60% in a 2-floor building covering 2200 sq ft. I ran the central fan for a few hours to allow the air to circulate the first time I used it to achieve an even humidity level in the entire home.
• Intuitive Controls: It has several smart features with touch controls on the top for different settings - auto home or auto away mode, humidity level controls, fan speed settings, voice control, night mode, etc.
• App:-The app has all the settings that you see on the unit itself. You can track the humidity level over the last few days/weeks and also set up a schedule with different settings on the app.
In conclusion, this smart high-capacity humidifier takes your home comfort to the next level with less maintenance and long-lasting performance.

Finding a whole home humidifier that's not connected to your HVAC, can be difficult, especially when manufacturers overestimate their products' capabilities. The Levoit 6000S is thankfully quite capable of maintaining and 3000sqft home with standard height ceilings. I'm being specific about the height of your ceilings because the air occupies 3 dimensions of space and therefore, if your ceilings are 10 or 12ft, the 3000sqft estimate will be somewhat reduced. I placed mine in an open area of 1100sqft with 17ft cathedral ceilings, so I'm taking into account the extra cubic footage.
The unit comes with everything you need to get started, including all filters. One thing that I found striking was the lack of drum wick filter. The 4 filters are placed above the 6gal water tank and just below the fan. I wondered how the water made it to the filters if the top is made to come off. Turns out, there's a little pump in the fan housing that, when properly inserted, pulls water up to all 4 filters simultaneously every few minutes or so depending on fan speed. The wheels are a nice touch, though small and difficult to move around without going in circles; a telescoping handle would've been nice. Great idea to include a faucet filling tube, considering the 6 gal tank weighing 50Lbs when full, a definite must.
I've been using the unit for about a week now and can say it struggles a little when it gets real cold and the heat is running often; it only manages to get to 35% on auto (high). When the heat is not running so frequently, on slightly warmer days, it easily reaches 45% on low speed. The app doesn't offer much extra functionality. It displays 9 fan speed settings, but only does the 3 available. You get reminders when filter drying is necessary or you're out of water, and you can schedule on and off times. You can set the app to remind you watering times for plants among other things.
The only real downside I can think of is the inability to clean the brown stains from the filters which is a common issue in such units. I'm just surprised at how quickly they show up, it's only been a week, and they're supposed to last 3 months. That said, it's a very capable unit that humidifies your house and is relatively quiet.

Super happy with this Humidifier first and foremost. Unboxing was simple but you’ll need to read the instructions to put it together and make sure you have all the pieces in their respective spots. This holds a lot of water and I had a difficult time lifting it out of the sink. They show in the instructions to use a hose but I don’t have one that attaches to my faucet so I did what I could do. I put this in my front room as that’s where I hang out the most and after reading the instructions I decided to put this Humidifier on the Auto setting and just let it run on its own. After a couple hours I noticed the humidity reading on the unit was hovering around 50%. That to me feels perfect in the house. I was having issues with dry skin and a dry nose but this seemed to help so much. I did get a notification after about a week to clean the filters, that was easy and I refilled the water tank…it’s heavy. I have had little humidifiers that don’t produce lot and never worked for me but this thing is magical and super quiet too. I don’t even know it’s on. I love the digital display and the App that you download to change the settings. So if you’re in the market for a humidifier I would say give this one a shot.

Easy to use! I purchased early spring and haven’t used it enough in winter to know how effective it really addresses low humidity for the whole house. I do like the app too.

The Levoit Superior 6000S Evaporative Humidifier, to date, has performed great! The unit has great features including very quiet, has a 6-gallon tank, can be controlled manually or through the VeSync app, and it automatically shuts off when it reaches the desired humidity. The unit will also shut off when it needs to be refilled and will continue operating for a period of time to dry the 4-filter wicks. Levoit also has excellent Customer Service via email. They quickly respond and provide answers and links, if necessary.

I don't write reviews often, but this humidifier is so great I feel like I have to. It does however have a few flaws that I will point out as well. Seriously, if you are at the point where you are considering a humidifier this is in my opinion the best one to get. If it is oversized for your space it will just be extra quite since the fan won't need the higher speeds.
The good: It humidifies a huge space, its cleaner than an ultrasonic humidifier, it has a huge water tank, and can use tap water instead of distilled water
The bad: The app could be more intuitive and the settings such as auto/humidity are confusing. Wheels could be better
Humidification: I tried 3 other models before this one. I kept two that stay in the bedrooms and this unit is in the living room. My home is 3,000 square feet and before getting this humidifier the others ran all the time. When I got this beast I set it to 55% humidity and for 2-3 days it was loud and used 7 gallons of water a day! However, after these first few days it had pushed the humidity in my home from about 32% to 50% and now is generally quite except in the morning when the heater heats the house up to the day temp and dries out the air. My other humidifies hardly run now.
Cleaner: I have an air purified that reports on the amount of 2.5 particles in the air. These increase noticably when the ultrasonic purifirers are running. With this appliance running there has been a notable decrease, even though those other units are still running, just much less often.
Water tank: 6 gallons of water! Obviously your space will be different than mine, but the water for me generally needs to be filled every 2-3 days.
The app and settings: The app provides several modes, manual, auto, sleep, and hummidty. Manual is as it sounds, pick a fan speed and go. Auto lets you pick 50% or 55% as a target hummidty and the fan speed drops as it gets closer to the target, and off if the target is exceeded. These modes make sense, the next two a little less so. Sleep sets the fan to low and turns off the display, but their is no easily set humidity target to auto shut off if reached. Humidity lets you pick a fan speed and set a target humidity. The fan runs at the set speed until the humidity level is reahed, then shuts off until it drops below the set amount. The issue here is the fan speed does not scale as it gets closer/further to the target. I also found the humidity setting to be generally buggy, but auto mode has worked great.
The wheels: They are just too small and wimpy for this haus. They will roll ok on wood floors with water in the unit, but carpet is a no go and if you have tile you have to be carefull they do not catch and dump it. However, this is truly a minor annoyance that can be easily worked around. You could probably change the wheels to roller skate wheels if it is worth it to you.

This is a very nice unit and it works really well. The best I've used. With that being said the filters take some work to keep them clean. You must soak them in a solution of half vinegar and half water about every two weeks to a month. Otherwise you will spend a ton of money replacing the filters every month.

Excellent device to keep the humidity levels as expected. It works great in our master which is a pretty big space but it covers it well. Look and feel is great. Auto shutoff feature saves energy. Big water tank helps frequent refilling.

So much better than the ultrasonic humidifiers. We had a terrible experience with an ultrasonic humidifier shorting and slowly melting in our bedroom. Released a weird microplastic haze into the room. Bought an air quality monitor. Found that the AQI with a properly functioning ultrasonic humidifier was still in the 180s! The only way to avoid pushing microscopic minerals into the air was to use distilled water. That's expensive and a pain.
This unit uses tap water and is robust enough to humidify the entire second floor of our house. It doesn't get the humidity above 50% without a lot of work but mid 40's is ideal. Square footage is about 1000sq ft. Unit is in hallway at top of open stair case. Bedroom doors are shut at night. Still pushes humidity up into the 40s. Very impressive.
Best of all...it's easy to fill. I hated having to fill humidifiers in each bedroom every or every other night. Now I just have this one unit to monitor. Which I'd upgraded earlier!
