I needed to replace a washer and dryer in a high rise condo. The old unit was Bosch and started to give us problems. This is much, much better. Larger capacity, uses less water, more controls, and a lot quieter. I like the wifi notifications on the phone. If you have limited space this might be the best on the market.

Let me preface this review to say this is my first front loader. There seem to be infinite cycles depending on how much time you want to spend customizing on the app. As far as washing: clothes are clean and smell fresh. Cycles take slightly longer than my full size top loader i owned previously. I only use a fraction of the detergent I used with my top loader. I wanted to use this machine for a while before writing a review. So far I've been pleased. I did purchase the extended warranty since the entire machine is based on a computer chip board,so there's a reasonable chance it will be called upon at least once (though hopefully not).

This washer does a much better job than the "GE" washer it replaces. Think quieter (with caveats), vibrates less during extraction, and the clothes not as soggy. However this unit does this thing where it pulses when filling the drum and then makes some weird noises during the beginning of the cycle. After that it pretty quiet even during extracting. And it looks pretty cool.

Our options were limited as we have a very small laundry closet in our condo. This LG stackable washer and dryer had all the bells and whistles, a great price point, good reviews, and it fit! Very much enjoying the Wi-Fi connection so I can keep a running history of usage, and the diagnosis feature in the LG ThinQ App is very useful to identify any issues.

Bought these for a smaller house and the washer works great. Run time has been pretty standard (about an hour for regular loads) and it runs fairly quiet. I’m trying to do better with these and actually keeping the seals dry so it doesn’t start to smell and so far it’s worked.

Washer does the job well, has handle all loads with no problems. I think its capacity would be too small for a comforter. Does vibrate more than I would like but tolerable

Hope this helps someone during install but the shipping bolts must be removed before use! The bolts are two parts (one metal one rubber/plastic) BOTH need to be removed. Fit my queen size comforter with pretty quiet operation so far im happy.

    Worst appliance I’ve ever had

I have never disliked an appliance as much as this washing machine. All I want to do is wash clothes in very hot water and rinse them in cold water. This simple task is not available with this machine. There are 14 options, all of which are pretty useless. If I set the machine on very hot wash, it goes to a setting of over three hours, and there is no way to simply wash in hot, rinse in cold, and do it in a reasonable amount of time. Who designed these things? They must be men who have never done a load of laundry in their lives and they must be pretty stupid. Common sense could tell anyone that a three hour washing cycle is too long.

    • Brand response from LG Digital Customer Care
      Posted .

Hi, Alexis. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We understand your concern about the LG Washer (WM1455HWA) model, especially the cycle times and lack of flexibility for hot wash and cold rinse options. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products that exceed our customers' needs and expectations.

For your desired wash settings, we recommend using the "Heavy Duty" or "Cotton/Normal" cycle and adjusting the water temperature to your preference. While it may not be possible to directly combine the exact settings you want, these cycles typically offer quicker wash times compared to the "Very Hot" wash.

We also recommend checking out the "Speed Wash" cycle for smaller loads, which can provide a faster cleaning time while still delivering effective results.
