Great monitor. I want to preface by saying this is not a TV for me. This is mostly for productivity, not really games or movies. I wrote this review because this turned into quite an ordeal for me and maybe I can save someone the same headache I went through trying to buy a monitor. Not quite as easy as thought it would be. I was looking for a versatile monitor, yet something that I could use for programming/coding. I have spent the last 10 years staring at a 15 inch MacBook Pro. I have never used an external monitor. I had grown very accustomed to the sharp images and text from the Retina display on the Mac. I went to the store looking at monitors and I was shocked at how poor the text quality was. (Windows Machines anyway not the Macs.) This was most important to me as I stare at text all day. After staring at code for 8 to 10 hours, it's important that you can maintain your focus without straining which will lead to fatigue and headaches. I figured 4k would be the best option for clear text. And I figured a 27 inch monitor would be perfect. Well not so fast. I saw how tiny the text was at this resolution. No way. My eyesight isn't the best anymore. So I decided a 32 inch monitor would be the way to go. Yet it had the same small text at 4k at 32 inches, although tons of real estate to work with. Actually more real estate than I need. So I figured I could just scale the resolution down. Well that didn't make a lot of sense because then I would be paying for a 4k monitor and rarely ever using the 4k resolution except on the rare occasion when I might watch a 4k movie. And then I read where people mentioned scaling not looking so great on particular sites or apps. So I decided to go with this 2k monitor at 32 inches. It just made more sense. I mean who cares about clear text if you can barely see what you're typing? Forget about 8 hours of straining to see that. If I wanted that I would just keep my MacBook and max out the resolution and I would get lots of real estate and really tiny text. Forget it. A bit of a learning curve. First I love the text on this LG monitor. I love the larger text size and it is as sharp and as clear as I need it to be. I don't need it to be razor sharp like the MacBook, because the text size makes up for it. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give the Mac a 10 and the LG an 8 on text clarity. I can sit a few feet back from the monitor and easily and clearly see the text. When web browsing (Youtube) I go full screen as I prefer the text size and sharpness on full screen and as a side I think Safari looks slightly better than Chrome at 2k on 32inch, so I have been using that more often. Anything Apple related looks great. Xcode/Swift, and anything on Apple's website. For productivity I love the LG On Screen Control software. (it seems to only work with DisplayPort cable and not HDMI. Go figure. I am using Mini DisplayPort/Thunderbolt to Displayport). I can divide up the screen into 3 or 4 sections and it just works. I prefer 3 sections so that I can maintain the large text, and I use the MacBook as a 4th window so to speak. I just drag whatever I'm using into the designated sections and the software fits in perfectly. I love stuff that just works. Again, a big plus for the 32inch size. I set all of the picture settings to custom. A big one that really helped was the gamma correction setting under game settings. I set it to gamma 3 and the blacks became perfectly black. Watching 4k and 8k YouTube videos on this monitor is pretty spectacular. Basically it's like being there. I actually appreciate them now on the bigger screen. It didn't make any difference to me before to watch them on the 15inch MacBook. The color really pops with this monitor too. No matter what you are looking at. Much more than the MacBook. Now when watching a movie, because of the size and resolution, I do sit further back and it looks great. If I sit up close, like I do when I'm working, then I can barely see the tiny little pixels, not that it's a big deal. Who watches a movie on a large screen and sits right in front of the screen anyway? A 5k or 8k Television for that purpose. I also love the adjustable height and tilt on this monitor as well. Adjustable height was an absolute must. This was one of only a handful that is height adjustable. This gets pretty high. High enough to allow me to place my MacBook in front of it without obstructing my view of the LG monitor. ( I'm so used to the Mac Keyboard and trackpad, that I refuse to use an external keyboard or mouse. I just prefer this set up now as I have been using it for so long.) I do have to tilt the MacBook screen back a bit. But I'm also using this on a drafting table that is set at a slight angle. So the monitor's base is a bit higher than the MacBook as well. But this setup works perfectly for me. No dual monitors and head turning and external junk. Everything perfectly aligned directly in front of me for perfect focus. I really struggled with this decision because I was expecting 4k to be the perfect solution. I really had to focus on my needs vs getting caught up in the 4k hype. It lives up to the hype, but it doesn't fulfill what I really need. Going 4k isn't really future proofing anything for me if I have to deal with tiny text. I was a bit frustrated at first because I ran into an unexpected problem using the DisplayPort cable. I had purchased a cheap cable. I attempted to adjust the refresh rate to 75hz, not that I need it, and then for some reason I could no longer get a picture. Perhaps there is an issue with the cable. Seems to be fine at 60hz. But it took a lot of troubleshooting just to get the picture back using DisplayPort. No issues with HDMI. I was able to run HDMI at 75hz. I'm blaming it on the cable. Who knows. I don't really care. I don't need 75hz anyway. I took off a point on quality because of this. If it happens again I'm going get an exchange on the same monitor. I still have 10 days to make sure it's good. For all of the reasons I have listed I really like this monitor. It's a great choice for me personally. I got it on sale as well. In the end this fulfills everything that I was looking for and does it very well. Very satisfied with this purchase. No 4k monitor for me.

Great second monitor. Big screen for content consumption. Wouldn’t use it as a gaming monitor as the refresh rate isn’t fast enough. Great monitor for what it is.

An absolutely amazing monitor, especially considering the cost. I hooked it up to a MacMini M1, and wow. The colors. The sharpness. The beautiful thin black bezels. The anti-glare screen. LG hit a bullseye with this monitor. Can’t say enough good about it. And BestBuy N Canton is always super helpful and professional. Thumbs up.

    Excellent all around monitor

I reviewed this monitor a few days ago and I wanted to add some additional info. The more I use this monitor the more impressed I am with it. I do want to mention the quality of the stand. It is rock solid and built like a tank. The height adjustability is an excellent feature and the movement is very smooth. I have read comments regarding LG's non adjustable stand and many people mention that it transfers the vibration from typing on the keyboard to the monitor causing the monitor to shake. That is definitely not the case with this monitor. My MacBook display will shake a bit from typing but not this monitor. I have enjoyed my experience with this monitor. I appreciate the fact that it isn't taxing to my GPU at all. There is no fan noise coming from my MacBook. I know that a 4k monitor would be a bit more taxing on the GPU. The more I use this to code with the happier I am with it. Text clarity within XCode and VSCode is excellent. Text clarity in all of the software and apps that I use is excellent. The only variation I find is when web browsing. Some sites display text great and others not so great. It comes down to the website and browser much more so than the monitor itself, although the monitor does play a role in that too. Much like the quality of a video or photograph being dependent upon the quality of the camera that was used. I am attaching a photo to show the LG On Screen Control software and how I am able to divide up the screen into 4 parts. The software offers multiple configurations for screen management. I tried to show the clarity of different applications in that photo but not sure it translates in the photo. I also took some photos of an 8K video from Youtube. The photos weren't taken with any special camera settings, just an iPhone was used. The photos of the video were taken while the video was in motion. There were no special video settings applied to the monitor. No HDR setting, just the same settings I use everyday. Speaking of settings the monitor is highly adjustable. I have contrast, brightness, and most picture settings set to around 60 to 70%. I'm not into video or photo editing so I can't really speak on that subject. I can only say that I am quite impressed with the High Res Videos and Photos that I have seen using this monitor. I can only guess that 4k may be a better option than this. I've read comments from people that say otherwise. Just not my area of expertise. As an all around monitor I would say this is excellent.

This is the best monitor I've ever used. I am a graphic designer. so I very sensitive to color and quality. It satisfies my perspective like that. The design is minimal and sophisticated and has the best performance and quality. As expected, LG is the best display technology. Many monitors from Samsung and Dell have excellent quality, but this monitor is even more special. And I think qhd is the best fit for 32-inch monitor. If a monitor of this size was equipped with 4k, the letters would look too small to use. Qhd is enough. Anyway, I'm very happy with this monitor. I think he's gonna do a lot of graphic work with me over the next 10 years.

I use my monitor to do my schoolwork and it is great for multitasking. The set up process was quick and easy. 4k resolution can be too sharp some times so QHD is perfect for me! The colors are vibrant, and the text is clear. Because the screen is so big, I also use it to watch shows/movies with my roommates. I have a pretty large desk so this monitor fits very well. I would recommend measuring your desk to make sure the monitor is not too large for you. I also like the fact that the monitor is height adjustable. Overall, very satisfied with this monitor and would highly recommend! Best Buy College Crew members receive products to write honest, unbiased reviews. Very nice quality for the price. I had some issues with the screen not waking up, but online research indicated that was common when using displayport with older computers. That is my scenario, so switched to HDMI and there have been no problems. I am using it as a single large screen for work instead of a two monitor setup, and also using it for my home Mac. The ability to have two HDMI cords plugged in and just tuggle to switch between computers is great. My only concern is whether the toggle switch will last over time.

Easy setup, box arrived undamaged, monitor is huge and no dead pixels that we can find. Not as fond of the rocker button on the bottom bezel rather than discrete buttons for different functions, but that's the price one pays for having the bezel be as small as it is, I guess.

Great looking monitors. Shipping was fast and setup was easy. This monitor came with both HDMI and DisplayPort cables. Only issue I have with this monitor is that the power cord is not very long and the curved pedestal makes it difficult to place near the edge of my desk and takes up a little more space than I would prefer. Overall, a decent purchase though.

Really great monitor. The soft, non-reflective finish works well to avoid glare and reflections. Yet, the resolution remains great. I wanted to avoid downgrading to a standard HD monitor, and I’m glad I did. I get more screen area for my graphics projects. I am using it with the DP connection.

Excellent monitor hampered by the LARGEST external power supply (wall wart) connected to the SHORTEST power cord ever, 4.5 feet. Before you buy, make sure you have an outlet close enough to connect a strip, it's about 2 feet too short for my use but I made it work. Really other than a cheap feeling to the case not a bad unit. BB was tops in efficiency getting it with courteous service. Would I recommend? Yes, with a warning to measure your desk and power supply distance before pulling the trigger.

This LG 32" monitor is exactly what I expected on my desk. The picture is bright and the size is perfect. I did not put it on the stand because it was too high for my eye level. My desk is against a wall so I stuck rubber bumpers on the bottom edge of the monitor and where it contacted the wall. The bumpers keep it from sliding on the desk and from touching the back wall. It displays impressively when you walk into the study.

Very Happy with my purchase,I got it for my xbox series s since it only outputs a 1440p resolution. This monitor can do 1440p HDR and Auto HDR at the same time as long as freesync is off which is fine by me since im a casual gamer/movier. If you want variable refresh rate on for gaming competivly then it can only do it at 1080p with HDR on. This monitor meets all my expectations and is a great price for the HDR with 350 bits Brightness.

This is a great monitor. I had an older version of this monitor and initially bought two new monitors in another brand. I had to return them and go back to LG because it's important to me how the text looks on the screen. I edit text all day long and need it to be easy on the eyes. Because of the IPS technology, LG screens are pleasant to read. This monitor isn't even 4K, but the text on the screen looks much better than on the two 4K monitors I initially purchased.

This is a good 32" monitor if you are not comparing it to an AMVA panel. I have an Asus P328Q next to this monitor, and the asus is much better colorwise, contrastwise, and blacks are deep black on the AMVA. The blacks and contrast ratio on this monitor are typical IPS, they are simply lacking. There's light bleed on the bottom of the monitor, especially from one corner. Only one dead pixel. It's a great second monitor for the price. HDR is deficient, but then again it's bad on all monitors. The Asus AMVA panel does not have HDR, but if cranked all the way up in brightness and contrast, it performs very similar to this LG monitor (that has HDR). This monitor has it's own simulated HDR effect, and does not use the Windows 10 HDR. Turning on Win 10 HDR made all the colors washed out. I have not yet found any ICC profiles for this monitor, but I'm sure colors will look better when calibrated. The real deal breaker for me is the online LG software, "onscreen control" . It's simply broken. For example, I select HDR effect, then click on on game (PUBG for example) and the settings change to custom. The software keeps changing the settings, and does not maintain them. The only way to change settings and keep them is through the toggle switch on the monitor. Moreover, the onscreen control does not display all the programs installed on my computer. I can't find steam and pubg in the list of available programs. Gaming at 75hz is fine. I agree that 144hz may be smoother, but quite frankly I do not see or feel much of a difference. Possibly there's a pshycological difference. 144hz will certainly not give you more frags. I have tried endless monitors in the past 6 months including many other more expensive variants of 32" and 27". In general I find 27" IPS models, to be much better than the 32" color wise. I have tried the upper end Dells, Asus, Samsung etc. They are better than this monitor but cost up to $899. At the end of the day, this monitor is best, especially at this price range.
