I have many 4k monitors and tvs I have used. interestingly enough, my HISENSE from 2018 has the best HDR colors (not brightness) out of most of them under $800-1000 per example (OLED one 65" $1000+ kills it but... let's be fair). My SEIKI 39" 30fps is amazing, and just wins over all other devices for reading text, programming, effects controls for 1fx, 3ds, etc. Now comes the 32" LG I got OPEN BOX from best buy. I was lucky, it was like new, and nobody stole it out of my hallway before I got home. Heh. The colors are vibrant but skin tones look yellow, orange, and blues need some pumping up. I tried to calibrate this with an hdmi connection, then display port as a test (2.0x and 1.4 respectively) and it was basically the same for what I was doing. 4:4:4 uncompressed from a geforce 1060, I think my 2080 ti might send a better signal (circuitry shouldn't matter in uncompressed rgb (8 or 10 bit) full dynamic range or YCbCr 4:4:4 (8 or 10 bit) limited output in this. Go to your nvidia control panel in windows/apple and set that to USE NVIDIA color settings if you like to test. I suppose AMD is the same, but I don't have a 4gb+ gpu from amd atm to test. You will notice a bit of a pasty white on the display and strange dark but flat blacks (va panel, no glossy going on).. and you can play with brightness and contrast. What you most likely should not do is play with sharpness on a pure digital signal in the lg control panel, it just really wrecks what you are seeing, even 32" at 100% zoom 2840x2160, so remember that unless it fits your eye for text with some higher contrast, you should do that in windows/os x instead of the monitor if you can. I noticed a very strange thing, the contrast and brightness no matter the response speed setting in the lg monitor would flicker the end credits of white text on a black background on both my seiki 30hz and the lg 60z at any none-fast-faster response setting, but my hisense not only showed skin tones better and overall a more film like look, but no flickering of the text scrolling up. There's an antialaising reason in the blu-ray x265 compression of the text for this, but it should be noted some va ips oled etc techs handle this differently, don't be freaked out. If you blow up 1080p (BLU RAY STANDARD) to 4k it doesn't flicker as much in this instance I had. There's almost no heat coming from this,which is great, and it balances very nicely on an old wooden crate my friend gave me years ago before he passed away, sturdy fruit crate, $300+ monitor, seems legit. And as for the speakers, they're small speakers inside of a 32" flat panel, it is what it is. Get a sound bar or a receiver/amplifier and monitors if you want studio sound with it. I would certainly watch films, tv, gaming on the xbox, pc, and effects controls and even small, thin anti aliased lines in 3ds/c4d/blender with this.

I use this monitor with a LG 4k Blu-ray Player for watching movies. I got rid of my cable bill and this supplements that nicely. It displays crisp colors and images with no fuzzy or blurry delays or spots. I have not played YouTube videos or video games on it, but it does handle moving images very well. 32 inches is the right size for one person to watch or a whole family. Any larger or smaller and it may not be a satisfactory viewing experience. The speakers are good but I would recommend using headphones, such as Sennheiser HD560S (my personal favorite), to have an isolated listening experience as well. Despite the lower price, this monitor from LG delivers a quality display worth much more.

I bought this monitor based on the mass amount of reviews and expert ratings I read through. I got this monitor because of price point but should have gone with an IPS panel instead for about $150 more. Most of the reviews, and yes I know this is a VA panel, stated the viewing angles were decent, not sure what socks they were smoking but they certainly weren't fresh. While the picture is very good, the text crisp, nice colors and a decent brightness, the viewing angles are the very worst I have ever seen in a 32 monitor. Move slightly and colors start to look washed out and also complete different. See the photos of the lovely fillet steak I have included as a comparison. I have included front, side on and up above. While the resolution is crisp, at any other angle that is not head on the colors become washed out and the whole image dull. This may not be an issue for some people but as someone who moves about a bit while working, has multiple monitors and wants a uniform color from all angles, please please go with an IPS panel. If the viewing angles were not so bad and the fact that the HDMI ports are constantly cutting in and out on all 5 of the laptops I have tested it on, this would be a decent monitor.

I have only been using it for a week, but so far, so good! This monitor has excellent 4K display. If you stream 4k movies on it, the picture quality is amazing. Watching a 4k Top Gun preview was awesome. I do a fair amount of photo editing (real estate), and the hi def quality and size really helps. The controls are via a tiny toggle switch on the bottom, which can take some getting used to, but it is pretty easy to use. The monitor stand tilts, but it is not adjustable up and down, so keep that in mind if you have a tight space. This monitor barely fits into the monitor space in my large desk, but I measured it first to make sure it would fit. It takes up the whole space, but since it sits about 4 or 5 inches higher than the desk, I have easy access to my audio controls for the speaker system and powered sub I have connected to my PC. Again, so far, I love it!

The monitor isnt the best, but you get whay you paid for. It has awful viewing angles to the poijt where if you dont look dead straight, colors become bery contrasty and HDR isnt actually HDR(It’s not VESA certified, which is the industry standard in certifying HDR on screens). When enabling HDR through windows, it just makes the colors washed out. I only got this monitor because i saw it on sale for $141 so in pretty content for the price i paid for. Id recommend finding a monitor thats VESA certified as youll aftuslly get true HDR

This monitor is good for office work, cad drawings, work from home computer monitor. It’s worth the money. I use this monitor side by side together with 32” Samsung UJ59, 32”. Believe me, this dude is better screen resolution and also cheaper. Can’t go wrong with on sale price less than $300. As you can see down below, right side is LG and left side is Samsung.

Great monitor. The size allows for dual monitor viewing with only one monitor, which saves space on my desk. I used it to connect to my iMac and it has great resolution quality.

Great quality, especially for the price point. Temper your expectations though. I wouldn’t recommend this for shooters. It’s 60Hz. I play mostly RPGs and this monitor is great for that purpose. The colors really pop and I love the color accuracy. It’s not mini LED or IPS so don’t expect deep black levels. Photo attached is a side by side comparison with Razer Blade 4K OLED

This is my 4th monitor in this series (been buying them for years) and this one was for my wife to use while working from home. All 4 are still working perfectly. HDR color is fantastic. 4k at 32" is the sweet spot for being able to see everything clearly. 4k/HDR/60Hhz is awesome. Pictured is the first one I bought, but the 4th looks just as good.

This monitor is great, but if you can get the "Super Fine" version, then id go for that version instead. For some reason, the sharpness just isnt there in this version of the monitor. Its still a great monitor, but the super fine version is so much better.

While not perfect, this monitor is excellent for its price point. With exception to the stands, the general build quality is solid. The monitor tilts up and down but are not adjustable in any other way. I purchased two for use in a dual monitor set-up. Sitting side by side I would expect them to line up horizontally but the general slop in the connection leaves them slightly askew from one another at about 1/4 of an inch. This model does support VESA standard mounting so third party stands are an option. Picture quality is sharp and color range is good. The HDR boost to color range is not on par with far more expensive models but a notable improvement to color range when enabled. The included speakers are perfectly usable, but if audio quality is your thing you might want to run audio to an alternative source.

Bought this monitor as a replacement for my old tv. Wanted a screen that I could use for work with my computer, and leisure with my gaming consoles. This model has build in speakers, so it works great as tv replacement (aside from minor annoyance that it doesn't have a remote control, so I have to get up to change volume). It goes up to 4k resolution, and 60 Hertz refresh rate. Which are great for work and movie viewing. It is really good for gaming, but the refresh rate can be strange depending on game input. For my pc (and I know newer xbox models too) it works good with variable refresh rate, so it keeps motion smooth. For consoles or games not compatible with it, I notice minor ghosting on some fast 60fps games (mario kart 8 or rocket league). LG has built in options to increase the refresh rate perception, but they are still not on same level as an IPS display would be (this is a VA type display). Colors are great, I do some photo editing in it, and seems well calibrated too for my printing. The matte finish is good to avoid glare and reflections, meaning you don't need to increase brightness much. As for HDR, I confess my ignorance in using it... I tried several guides on calibration online, and I have mixed results depending on game or movie. Most of my ps4 games look strange and washed out. Only Ghost of Tsushima and Star Wars Battlefront 2 looked ok. HDR Movies from iTunes looked good, but still nothing that would make me like the monitor more or less... So I am not well suited to review this feature... and end up using SDR for the most part, which is still amazing when playing Forza Horizon 5 or Mario Kart 8 with their vibrant colors. Volume is great, and sound quality are really good. Certainly better than macbook speakers. If you are looking for 60fps or higher game quality motion effects, this might not be the right monitor. But if you want a monitor with good jack of all trades screen, with good stereo speakers, great color accuracy, and acceptable 60 hertz refresh rate, this model is the one.

This 4k monitor is wonderful at this price point. I have two of them in a 4-monitor setup for my desktop computing. Meets all my needs and expectations. I was even surprised it had built in speaks. I would recommend this product. Easy to setup and use.

I have had this monitor up and running now for about an hour. After some issues with my graphics card connector I was able to get it up, running and installed. The screen / resolution quality is excellent and since I work in Fusion 360 and Solidworks CAD worlds, this is a huge improvement. One thing though, and had I known this I would have bought something else, the wall wart power supply for this monitor is simply huge and will not work with any of my APC UPS's, so here I am with a UPS protected PC but a surge protected only monitor until I buy a 3 ft cord to go between the UPS and the monitor wall wart. There are so many better ways out there to do this, but I suspect it was a sourcing decision not an engineered decision that takes the user into account. I would have given it 5 starts had this monitor had an appropriate power supply solution.

Great monitor for multitasking with different computers and working with programs side-by-side. Easy to switch between different inputs, so you can run Windows on, say HDMI, then switch to a Mac Mini using a Displayport to USB-C cable. When using the monitor, you can easily open windows side-by-side (for example, documents in Acrobat and Quicken) and work between programs. Same for Word, Excel, and whichever browser you prefer. Perfect size without overwhelming your desk. Easy to adjust.

Started using 1 month ago; suits my needs quite well. Very crisp text, vibrant colors, and deep blacks. Video is fine. I do think the 4k resolution is needed to get full use of a monitor this large. I don't value speakers highly; nor do I do gaming, so no comments there. Ultimately, getting a high quality brand name 4k monitor with speakers at the price of a basic 2k monitor made the deal for me. (It was discounted by $100 down to $250). Oh, and the "white" is only on the back of the monitor; the visible side is all black.

If you thought "Cables: Display Port and HDMI" in "What's Included" here meant there would be a Display Port cable included, you are mistaken. If you thought "CABINET/ACCESSORIES Wall Mount Size (mm) 100 x 100 mm Display Port Yes HDMI Yes" on the LG web site meant there would be a Display Port cable included, you are mistaken. If you looked on the front page of the eight page quick setup guide in the box and saw the line drawings of two cables tagged with a plus sign and thought one of them is an included Display Port cable, you are mistaken. Online reviews are peppered with the likes of, "Hey. No DP cable!" Anyhow, I got one delivered overnight from teh 'zon. It was long overdue I replaced the (still) first-rate 10-year old TN panel 25" HP Full HD monitor that did duty with an i7-3770K Biostar Z77 for over eight years and since then this i9-9900K ASRock Z390 having HDMI 1.4, DP 1.2. I don't game and don't have a discreet card, so I didn't need a 4K monitor costing nearly twice as much, or more, than the $199 sale price for the 32UN500. Once set up properly, this LG bargain supports every mode available from the on board Intel UHD 630 graphics and does so with a stunning visual display to satisfy even the most fussy mainstream PC user. Like me, you might have guessed. This is a fine VA panel without the nit-picks touted by IPS devotees; contrast is superb due to the deep, deep black, brilliant white and a nicely rich RGB gamut. Run an OLED test video or two on yoot toob and you'll find it can't get much better at even the $329 price point. The only gripe is the inverted joystick on the underside of frame for the OSD access. I actually found my arm getting cramped. But the interface is intuitive and thorough and easy to navigate once your index finger gets used to it. The speakers are good for notification sounds, voiced podcasts and videos and nothing more. Music and streamed movie and TV show audio is absolutely awful (as it is for any dinky little built-ins, even in the high end TVs). My next monitor... a Holodeck!

Sorry don’t use it for gaming but this is a great monitor for work. I connect my laptop to a docking station that connects to three of these monitors and I love them! 4K gives me so much more real estate when I see other coworkers share their screen and I see how little they see on the screen at a time it makes me so grateful to have these monitors and the 4K resolution to have more visibility for a greater portion of an Excel spreadsheet or really anything that displays on my computer at work also work great for my Mac mini

The speakers suck but the display itself is nice. Not fast enough for gaming. And you cannot pivot or raise the display with the provided stand but for the price this is an excellent 4K display.
