Amazing productivity monitor paired with MacBook

I use this monitor as a productivity monitor in the office. So far I am very pleased with the performance. My main reason to buy this monitor was the USB-C charging ability which has allowed me to leave my MacBook Pro's charger at home and not have to carry it everywhere. I found the monitor on sale for $499 and felt it was very fairly priced for what I got. In the office I don't use the built-in speakers, so I have no opinion on those. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

This 35” curved screen monitor looks good when it is turned on or off…Great quality product…I highly recommend…The screen is a perfect size with many options to personalize and make it your own. One big screen verses 2 or 3 separate monitors. It is a win win for me.

There is a solution for USB-C connectivity issues

Monitor looks great, connects easily, and supplies power to my macbook pro 16 just fine. I was skeptical when purchasing this because of all the negative usb-c related reviews. People seem to think when the connection fails, something is physically wrong with the monitor. All you have to do is unplug the monitor's power source for at least 20 seconds, then voila, back to normal. It's apparently a memory issue if you periodically disconnect your computer. It's absurd that LG hasn't released this as an official fix so people can stop returning this monitor thinking it's broken. So why 4 stars? Well, you shouldn't have to do that, first of all. Second, it's irritating that the usb-c won't continue charging your laptop once it goes to sleep or is turned off. So essentially, unless you want to leave your open and on all night, you can't rely on this to charge while not in use and still have to use a standard charger. It isn't a huge deal for me personally, since I'm usually at full charge when I'm done for the day, but I could see it being troublesome.

Great overall addition to my day trading setup. Colors are pretty good, not great. Size is perfect for my desk size and resolution works well with my laptop. Only major complaint is I already have a dead pixel in the first few months of owning it. Def not awesome, but nothing's perfect and it isn't distracting enough due to the massive size of this thing. Overall I would recommend.

Large monitor, ergonomic setup (stand/legs), and less costly than most monitors of its size. Image quality should work fine for most people. The main reason I bought this was for the USB-C port and ultrawide screen (I usually work on 2 screens). It's perfect for that. If you need a crystal clear image you might be better off spending a bit more on another model. But if you mainly want screen real estate and plug and play it's a great purchase.

I got the 35BN model which is spec for spec the same monitor. But the BN has a far better warranty. 3 years. Its very big. And pretty fantastic! Pretty much plug and play. I did not need to make any color adjustments. It comes with 1 usb C and 1 HDMI. I went out and bought a diplay port cable and am using that. These monitors are brand new 2020 models. So new they are not even on the LG website yet. I called LG to register it and they were really great. The stand is sturdy easy to put together and very nice. You can do quite a bit with the on screen display so thats another nice feature. But wow look at some 21x9 video on this baby! Awesome. Great for gaming editing blu ray and just surfin the web. Love it!

Excellent value / work from home monitor.

Excellent and reasonably priced monitor. This is probably one of the better values if you are looking at ultrawide monitors (especially if you can find it on sale like I did). Coming from using IPS monitors, the monitor did not look aa vibrant to me but having used this for the last few weeks, it really is a great monitor and everything looks accurate. I did have to go into my Nvidia settings for my RTX 2060 and manually enable Nvidia settings, RGB and full color because my PC originally set color to limited. The curved 35" acreen is very easy to look at and I love the fact that I can now see extra colums on my Excel spreadsheets or vidw two windows side by side like a dual monitor display (I use Windows key + left or right instead of the LG On-Screen Control software, which I find clunky. The monitor comes with HDMI, Display Port and USB cables and has multiple inputs (I use DisplayPort from a desktop PC and HDMI from a Surface Pro 4). I also have a USB C cable connected to my PC so I can take advantage of the two USB ports on the back. I have a USB 3.0 hub plugged into one of the ports on the back of the monitor and my Logitech mouse receiver plugged into the other. Helps with cable management and keep the desk neat. I do not have a laptop or desktop that supports DP Alt so I could not test the USB C display connection but the USB devices (backup harddrive, Aurender Flow DAC/amp, and mouse) work well. Speakers - I keep the speaker volume on the display at 50% and it is plenty loud. If you have volume issues, check both the volume on the monitor itself and the Windows volume. They are independent (I keep volume on the monitor at 50 and control Windows volume with my keyboard). Also check the volume of the specific app since that may also be independent. You will not get heart thumping bass or full range reproduction of music but it is sufficient for listening to webcasts which I do for a few hours a week. This has allowed me to save space by getting rid of my amp that I was using to drive bookshelf speakers and further save space. This monitor is clearly geared toward productivity and is great for working from home. I do have separate apeakers that I can plug in if I want to listen to music but tend to use a atreamer for that. Controls - I loke the joystick used to access settings and find it very intuitive. It is easy to adjust settings and quickly switch inputs or prssets Why 4 stars? I find the LG On-Screen software to be clunky and LG does not have ANY documentation on its website for this model. I just happened to stumble across the On-Screen Software for another model and gave it a try. I can confirm it does work but it is clunky and I ended up uninstalling it. Also, this monitor would have been a 5 star product if LG had included true PIP support (you cannot split screens to view more than one device at a time, which, for example, would be great to have TV in one window and my work environment on another). It certainly has the inputs but for whatever reason, LG left this feature out (I believe Samsung has a model that can do this). Highly recommended and I wish I bought this sooner.

This monitor is quite the eye opener (pardon the pun). I love the way I can multitask 4X what I could normally do with my laptop. My efficiency just quadrupled. Great monitor for the price. The USB-C makes for a one-stop connection to my laptop and I'm off and running.

Great monitor when it works. Have hit the dreaded USB C issues called out by other folks on here. Ive had it for 3 months and for the second time have had the USB C fail to register on my macbook and have had to dig out an HDMI and my adaptor for my computer. All of the usual tricks have not seemed to work- unplugged for a few minutes, restarted machines, tried various computers (to see if it wasnt an issue with my computer), unplugged the cables a few times, and tried all the USB C ports on two macbooks and the port on my adaptor as well for funsies. Again- perfect when it works, but twice in 3 months is not a great track record. If you are OK with HDMI then it's great, but if you dont have an adaptor- definitely consider getting one.

This is a nice monitor, works well for home office use. Easy to use with 2 or 3 screens wide. It does give an error with my Dell laptop that it will charge slowly when using the usb-c cable and the monitor as the power supply but it still works.

I have been very pleased with this monitor. The size is perfect (I was coming from 2 27" Dell monitors). The curvature is perfect and relieving the eye and neck strain I was having with my dual monitor setup. The picture quality is amazing. Built speakers are just fine. The only feature it is missing is picture-by-picture (PbP), but seems to be possible if you have an internet connection and are willing to install the dual controller software. I have not verified though.

Really good screen for the price. I use it mostly for work and it gets the job done. The colors are a little bit washed out of the box but with a little bit of tinkering, it does do RGB justice. USB C functionality works as expected (many people have trouble with it) with an M1 Mac, the only issue is that sometimes the screen won't wake up unless I unplug the USB C from my Mac (it happens 10% of the time). Brightness could be better. (Bought it at $499).

First off, the purchasing and picking up process through BestBuy went quite smoothly and I have no reservations on ordering from them again. But the monitor is quirky. Before purchasing, read all the reviews and pay close attention to the critical ones. First off, in initially plugging it in, the screen was fuzzy, not very sharp. I followed some suggestions about tweaking the REG file but the least intrusive fix was to set the <Picture Mode> to <Custom> and then set the <SUPER RESOLUTION+> to at least <Low>. This brought text and images more into focus. All the other <Picture Mode> settings weren't satisfactory and left the screen looking like the res was 720, not 1440. Next, it takes some time to wake up from Sleep Mode. Longer than any other monitor I've. TVs turn on faster. Finally, after 3 weeks, I went to wake up the monitor and nothing. I waited and waited. thought maybe It was off. Nope, the USB-C crapped out. Unfortunately, this happened when I was in a rush to get a project out to a client, a product that I needed the larger screen to be able to see fine details before finalizing... and the main reason I got the monitor. This was very frustrating and for most people, enough to send it back. But there isn't another 35" Ultra-wide available near this price. And the 37/38" monitors are WAY over-priced. So, I'm now using an HDMI connection, which is limited to 85hz. This isn't really a problem for me but may be an issue for some gamers. I should have listened to some other reviews of this monitor which commented on both of these issues: The screen needs to be tweaked to be clear and in focus & the USB-C will crap out on you.

The display build quality is good. I have it mounted on A Jarvis swing arm. Colors are good especially when you calibrate it. HDR mode is a joke. I bought this mainly to leverage the USB C connection with PD. Unfortunately it fails to deliver since you need to power the laptop separately with external power. When powered by USB C PD only, the screen keeps going blank n flickers. Pretty much unusable. My main use case was with the usb c and display port to switch between my gaming laptop and work laptop to get the highest frame rate. It falls short. Now can’t return it and LG support asked me to take it to Best Buy. I had thought my laptop was the problem and even changed that.
