My new LG top-load washer is fantastic. I haven't purchased a washer for over 20 years. My old washer never had a service call in all that time. But if finally went bad, and I had to buy a new one. I had no idea that washers had changed so much over the last 20 years. First change: No agitator. After what I thought was a thorough research job, I bought a Whirlpool from Best Buy, and then I really found out about how much washers had changed. When I used the Whirlpool the first time, it was so noisy I couldn't believe it. Then it vibrated when it spun. A vibration you can probably fix, but not the noise. It was totally unbearable. I knew then I had to return the washer to Best Buy. (They have a 15-day free return policy - in case you don't know.) Their employees were great. If all stores had employees like Best Buy's, shopping would be very rewarding. My daughter and I then went through the process of choosing a new machine from Best Buy's stock. No sound and no vibration were the must have's. After reading stickers on different washers, we found the LG WT1101C washer. It has a HE inverter direct drive AND a true balance anti-vibration system -- in other words, it's as soundless as a washer can be, and it has its own vibration system which balances itself. In addition, it has many other plus features. I read the reviews on it before I purchased it. I was amazed at all the excellent reviews this machine had, and every good word written about is true, at least, in my experience with it. I would recommend this washer to anyone and everyone. But a word of caution if you're looking for a new washer --- never, never, never buy one with a belt in it. That seems to be the price difference. Belts are cheaper than direct drives, but the direct drive has no belt, and that makes all the difference in the noise factor of this LG washer. One last thing, the diamond glass see-through window is so much fun to watch! You can see every cycle this machine goes through. If you're considering buying a washer, check out this one before you make your final decision. You'll be glad you did. Thanks Best Buy and LG - you did good!

Consumer Reports were right. This is a great washer. We are a large family with lots of laundry. Recommend heavy duty cycles for smelly clothes. ;) really happy. Takes the chore out of doing laundry. Washer spins the clothes until they're almost dry, which lightens the load for your dryer!!! This was a good investment along with the matching gas dryer.

We bought the washer based on its excellent reviews, and were not disappointed. The washer cleans very well, with large capacity and lots of options. The front panel control is very convenient. While it is not the highest efficiency washer, I think it's hard to find a more efficient machine at this price point that has such great ratings.

Great purchasing and delivery experience. Consumer Reports excellent review really prompted purchase. Looks nice, very quiet, easy to operate, jaunty tune at completion and very dry clothes after spin cuts down on dry time in drier. ONLY complaint and I think its a big one is it displays UNEVEN more often than not. In an effort to rebalance itself it fills with water again to redistribute the clothes so there goes the water efficiency! Its not like I'm washing anything weird or bulky, just throw in 6 towels and suddenly its uneven. There is not sound to alarm you to this and this has caused me to take twice as long as normal to get laundry done! VERY frustrating. When it works, it works great. Unfortunately after over a month of ownership the uneven battle is wearing me out!

I preferred a top loader as I've heard so many conflicting stories about front loaders. This unit runs very quite, and seems to get my things as clean as they have ever been. I've limited room for laundry machines, and this unit is pretty deep for a top loader.
It does not have the agitator in the drum so there's plenty of room for large loads, and it detects how much water to use - thats cool too.

LG 4.1 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Top-Loading Washer: has 8 wash programs, 5 temperature settings. I especially love the self balancing, quite operation of this washer. It has pleasant sounds and wrings out the clothes so that it takes less time to dry. It is challenging for short folks or vertically challenged as it is very deep,

I did a lot of research before purchasing this top-loading washer 3 months ago. I was restricted to an upright due to limited space and the installers did a great job! I was also told by many users that the front loaders do not clean as well. My top-loading washer is very easy to use, is quiet & uses enough water to clean all clothing well! You can put a lot into this washer & use the many different wash selections to get the maximum washes out of this washer! Very happy so far!

I read hundreds of reviews to decide on a washer that was going to be good, and on the inexpensive side. I have 3 messy kids and 1 more on the way, so I do A LOT of laundry! my last washer was a whirlpool front loader and it was more costly than this and only lasted 3 years. I knew I wasn't going Whirlpool. I was first struck by the size of the drum, amazing, I can fit 2x what I could A fit in my front loader, it is BIG and DEEP. I was nervous about the uneven error code that some received, and although a few times I have gotten this error, I can move the clothing around a bit and it corrects itself. It certainly isn't the huge problem some made it out to be. The clothes come out spun to within an inch of their lives and clean. I am happy with my purchase!

I researched wash machines within my price range and found this to be a very popular model. It lives up to all its praises: very quiet, low vibration, concise cycle choices, and energy effecient. One piece of advice that I have found to be important is to keep the spin cycle at medium or lower to prevent wrinkling. The wash cycle is longer, however, the strong spinning cycle draws out so much water that dry time is much shorter.

I needed a washer that would give me a large capacity and have front controls for easy access. I hadn't bought a new one in years so I checked out all the features. All the cycles, high efficiency, load balancing, stainless tub, glass top. I didn't think I could get one this nice for the price. It is quiet and works great.

We bought this new washer after years of constant problems with our 7 year old front loading washer. The new washer so far has been everything we had hope for. Very quiet easy to use cleans clothes extremely well. Controls are easy to use and straight forward. After reading some reviews stating various issues we were a little hesitant with getting this washer but so far it has worked great.

I've had this washer 2 weeks and love, love ,love it! Clothes come out clean, quiet cycles, and no agitator in the middle means I can finally wash my queen/king quilts and comforters. Read the instructions on how to load clothes and you won't have a problem with uneven load messages. Why only four stars? I'm on the short side, 5'6" and I can just reach the bottom of the washer for small stuff (socks etc.). If you're more petite this might be not the washer to get. (I'd suggest you go to the store to see if you can reach properly on a floor model.) I don't have the soccer loving, grubbing in the dirt kids around anymore so I can't review about how well it does on ground in dirt, and general grunge kids seem to find.

I have never had a high efficiency washer so, to me it is so diffrent. It takes a long time to do a load but, I can was bigger loads. I'm 5'4 and if I were any shorter I don't think I could get the laundry out because the machine is so deep. I have to stand on side of machine to reach it better. I don't like that you have to put the detergent in the machine then close the lid to start the machine. The lid locks and you can't rinse the detergent cup you used to pour into the machine. The machine isn't loud but makes way diffrent sounds than a reg machine. It spins so fast so, it's kind of a high pitched sound. There are many options and there is a fast wash cycle which, is nice. Had to use for sons gym uniform at 11 pm so he could have for school next day. The machine isn't bad just very diffrent, Still getting used to it.

Good washer with large capacity and energy savings.
It will hold up to a queen comforter.
The function buttons are simple to use. The wife used it on the first day.
Clothes come out very clean. The capacity is enormous.
The only negative is that it shuts down in an significant unbalanced situation.
The external dimensions are in the medium category. Therefore, it does not take a huge amount of room.
It is very quit and no vibration.

This washer has great capacity, completes cycles in a reasonable time, and has a wide selection of settings to handle many items. After leveling the washer, there is very little noise produced. I am highly satisfied with the ease of using this washer and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high efficiency alternative to front load washers.

This is by far the best washer I have ever owned. The clothes come out very clean. It uses less water and gives a better clean. After the spin cycle, the clothes feel almost dry which means less time in the dryer which equals less energy used. It is also very quiet. If you imagine an agitator in the middle of the washing drum and load your clothes around that "agitator" just like you would have in your old machine the loads will not be unbalanced and the washer will run through it's cycle without trying to refill and rebalance. I washed a king sized quilt in it and had no problems. I love it and will recommend it to anyone.

Clothes are clean and seem softer than my previous washer which leads me to believe that the detergent is getting rinsed out more thoroughly. The washer is quiet and does a nice job agitating the clothes without wear and tear on the articles. Much nicer than the front loader that we replaced as far as capacity, wash time and cleaning.
