I bought this washer on sale and it is a good value at the price point. The tub is very deep and hard to reach the bottom to retrieve clothes. Quiet machine but has very long cycles.

This is out first high efficiency washer and its great. The buttons in the front are a nice feature and and soap dispenser is also nice. The glass lid allows us to keep an eye on the load as its being washed. Bought the 3 year warranty as a just in case, which I normally do with major purchases. I don't know if ill need it though as the washer seems to run great and could almost be considered a smart washer, it senses the load and uses just the right amount of water, if its unbalanced it will stop and add water until its fixed.

We got the machine on sale and after having used it for a bit now, I would definitely pay full price for it. The interface is very user friendly, quick to learn and the machine is modern, easy to look at. The only minor con is that when its a full speed, it gets slightly loud, but not obnoxious to where you cant stand it, but that's to be expected from a washer, right? Overall, if you are looking for a machine that gives you a lot of bang for your buck, you don't need to spend over a thousand dollars, this machine can do all the more expensive ones can and it even plays a little tune when its done to let you know the wash is complete!

I purchased this model/brand because my Whirlpool front loader had a broken stabilizer and was very loud. This is a nice washing machine but it will go off balance very easy and almost every load I do takes about an hour or so. However, the tub is large and that cuts my 4 loads down to only 2 so I guess I like that better even if the cycles are a bit longer. The noise level is pretty good, as long as its not off balance it's relatively quiet for a washer. I do really like that you can put a cal king size comforter in it and it fits and gets it clean!

Huge tub. I do have to use a step stool to get small things out of the bottom, but I'm short and it;s no big deal. It looked intimidating at first but it's really simple to use. I feel like our clothes have never been cleaner!

Pros:
-The clear lid makes it easy to see the progress of your wash.
-It has a HUGE capacity, we can easily fit a comforter and more.
-The pause button is great for adding more items if need be.
-The cold rinse is perfect, rinsing in warm is such a waste of energy.
Cons:
-The "UE" (uneven balance) is driving us insane. It doesn't matter what we do, it'll stop the cycle and the dinky alarm is difficult to hear, so we don't notice it has stopped until we go to take it out. It could pause the wash 5 minutes in to 1 minute remaining. Redistributing the load sometimes works, but often one of us has to babysit it. A 35 minute "Speed Wash" can easily take 2 hours if you aren't right next to it. I've found that putting the heaviest items on the bottom, and lightest on top, stops the UE from happening.
-It doesn't agitate enough to remove stains. Often, even with pretreating, stains are still there when the clothes come out. I just don't think there's enough agitation to scrub clothes.
-The bottom of the drum is hard to reach if you're short. I'm 5'3", and I can just reach the bottom when I stand on my tippy-toes. Not necessarily a big deal, but something to consider if you've got a shorty at home like me.
-The machine will automatically add time to different parts of the cycle if it determines a need to. If it senses that the load is bigger than it is preset for (say you choose "speed wash", and it's set for 10 items, it'll detect that there's too much weight for what "speed wash" is set for, and add time to the cycle to do a better job). It'll also add more water if you are doing a bitter load that the settings are for. Not a big deal, but can be annoying. It would be nice to have that auto sensing be an option.
Tips:
-The larger the load, the less UE's you'll get, from our experience.
-Distributing the laundry by weight (vertically) and evening around the drum could have the best results.
-Once you select a wash cycle, don't mess with the other settings (speed, temperature, soil level), that has screwed up few of our loads. Stick to what it gives you, that's proven to be best at lessening the stoppage due to UE.
All in all, we are a very divided house. One member of the family was frustrated to tears (she may have been a little dramatic...) over how long her load of laundry was taking (her "speed wash" turned into a 3 hour laundry babysitting "adventure"). The rest of us have had issues here and there, but we've just decided that there's a huge learning curve with how advanced this piece of equipment is. It'll take us time to learn the best setting for each specific load of laundry.

Looked at online reviews and Consumer Reports and decided this was the one. Wanted a top loader that could wash a lot of clothes at once. This washer is great! So quiet, cleans my clothes well even my husband noticed. Has digital buttons for operation that are so cool but yet simple to operate. Did try to wash a bunch of bed linens at once and it didn't spin right due to the weight. My bad I over filled it way too much even for it's big drum size. The machine did pick this up as an error and tried to correct it. Love my machine. I made a great choice.

This was the top rated washer on consumer reports and it lives up to its reputation. First off, it looks very sleek and modern. This is my first high efficiency washer and so far it has been worth making the change. Its easy to use and we can wash so much more clothes. I believe this washer is comparable to others that are over $1000. Buy this, you cant go wrong.

My last washing machine lasted me 19 years with no service calls until it finally died, so this machine has a lot to live up to. I did a LOT of research on top loading washing machines and ultimately chose this one because it was Consumer Reports' highest rated top loading machine. The price is excellent for the features and large capacity. I've owned it for four weeks now and absolutely love it. The only issue I've run into is that if you mix heavy fabrics with lighter weight fabrics (like sheets & towels) in the same load, it will become unbalanced. The machine can sometimes self correct that, but I usually have to manually correct it. Solution: don't mix sheets and towels in the same load. I love the fact that I can wash any size load, it's extremely easy to use (spend 10 min. reading the user manual and you're good!) and energy efficient (uses MUCH less water than my old machine!). I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

I did not have high hopes for loving my new washer, because it seems that quality of appliances has been deteriorating the past few years. I'm so pleasantly surprised! It washes quite well - even my queen-sized comforter - and the electronics have the perfect level of sensitivity. Lots of options, and all of them useful. My dryer works better now, because the spin cycle is just right without wrinkling up my clothes. The only down side is that it does not remove pet hair as well as my previous washers, but I believe this is due to the high efficiency, using less water, rather than this particular washer, so I am not considering that in my review. The only thing now is to see how long the washer holds up over time; I've had it for just a couple of months. For now, I highly recommend.

Great looking, quiet washer. Despite all the buttons and control, it's very easy to operate. Love the HUGE tub. The auto balance works great too. No shaking or rattling.
Clothes come out cleaner than my old washer (I'm a mechanic, so closes are greasy). My dryer time also went from 90 min. a load to 50.
Great washer!

I've used this washer several times within the last week and each time, I feel like it's raining--well, it sounds like it is, anyway. Machine is pretty quiet and spins clothes almost dry. Washing time is a bit longer than my old machine with the center agitator, but this machine can wash way more clothes. I told my husband if he can't find me, check the inside of the washing machine because that thing is deep!

After much research and looking at reviews, the LG Washer was the winner. The washing machine is so advanced, it seems like a space ship. I actually enjoy doing laundry now, just watching it do it's thing is fun. Clothes come out super clean and fairly dry from the spin cycle. Less time in the dryer for sure, about half the time as the old washer.
If you are looking for a washing machine that doesn't break the bank, this is a great choice.
