Center the tub in the housing when leveling!

I was worried I would regret this purchase because of all the reviews saying it was so finicky about perfect balance and wouldn't complete a load. Glad I read another reviewer's tip about not using a level on top of the unit, but opening the lid and looking at the tub and making sure it is perfectly centered in the housing. I did this and have not had an ounce of trouble. I'm finding the controls and cycle selections very easy and intuitive. The wash cycle length is longer than I'm used to, but since the capacity is enormous, I guess it evens out in the end. Only trouble is trying to wash two blankets or comforters at a time. There is enough room, but machine has trouble with the spin cycle balance. So I just pulled one out and it was fine. The second wet one, I put in later set for just spin to get the water out. Overall, this is a great machine especially for large families like mine.

Excellent Washing Machine With Large Capacity

After 28 years, our old trusty Whirlpool washing machine started leaking. A cracked tub meant it was time for replacement. After extensive research, we decided on this LG. My favorite feature is that there is no agitator. This makes it super easy to add and remove clothes. Plus, the capacity is enormous. I can wash twice as much laundry at one time than I was able to before. There are many different washing cycles available, but so far I've just used the "heavy cotton" setting. The machine has an auto balance feature that works great. I hooked up the water lines with 90 degree hoses so that I could get the washer close to the wall. Lastly, I like the alarm it sounds when the clothes are done.

The old Kenmore washer with middle agitator finally went, so, based on reviews and a good price around July 4th, we bought this LG washer. We have a 2 year-old LG dishwasher and refrigerator and are happy with them, so that factor helped in our decision. Compared to the old washer, this tub is huge and I can wash basically 2+ loads compared to one load in the old washer, although wash cycles take longer (for cotton/perma it takes around 50 minutes). Best part is it spins so well, my old dryer has no problem getting items dry in very little time. Items seem to be clean so I will not question the magic that goes on once the lid is "locked" - kind of weird if you're used to opening the lid and seeing the agitator and washing taking place. I am trying to roll with the times... would recommend the washer for getting the job done.

Great washing machine. Sounds like a jet taking off and is pretty high tech so make sure you go over the instructions. After that it is easy. This machine spins so much water out of your clothes that you can use your dryer much less.
One small negative-the machine sits high and is deep (holds lots of laundry!). I am 5'5" and need to stand on tiptoes to reach the bottom of the inside to snag all of the load. Just saying.

My daughter has this washer and recommended it when my Cabrio HE washer decided to cease working. This is an amazing washer! I'm familiar with the longer cycle times, so the LG seems normal to me. It washes thoroughly, the clothes are still evenly distributed and untangled at the end of a cycle. Even with my old dryer, the clothes seem to dry much quicker now. I've washed a king size quilt with no problems.

It performs like a washer should. You put the clothes in, and they come out looking and smelling clean. I love it because the washer is huge. I don't like to do laundry, so I always have a lot to do when I do it, and it fits almost everything I have after a few weeks. The only complaint is that sometimes when you're washing bigger items like sheets/blankets, the washer can get off balance and stop, and then you have to readjust the load inside to re-balance it. Otherwise, it works as advertised.

I've now used the machine from heavy bedding to the finest delicates and are very happy with the results. I especially like the top load feature - No bending. I don't have a large family so I didn't need a larger drum but the 4.5 holds plenty of bedding. I was concerned that the clothes would twist together like my old washer. YEA! they come out perfect not twisted or deep set wrinkles. Couldn't be happier.

I had never purchased any LG branded appliances or video equipment before so I wasn't sure how this unit would perform. I purchased mainly on style, price point and simplicity of use. The washer and matching dryer perform very well with no issues. One thing I gained over my older reliable Maytag was the quietness of the LG washer. Really quiet. Works well and gets the clothes clean. Has a nice little chime at the end when the final cycle is finished. Stainless steel tub is a plus.

Great large load washer

Our new LG washer does a wonderful job on large loads but is adaptable enough to process even small loads efficiently. We are concerned about water here in New Mexico, and this washer minimizes water use. We refrain from using a drier as much as we can, and the LG washer spins clothes almost dry. The rest of the drying is accomplished quickly in the low humidity here in Santa Fe.

Seriously, with everyone loving to save money, how could you not pick this? The reviews should be enough to tip you over the fence if you're on it about this washer. I love how it senses the load and applies the correct amount of water. True, a lot of other models over this feature, but few have mastered it. There are so many bells and whistles on it, that I was doing laundry as if it were fun, I just needed a excuse to use all the features.

I did quite a bit of research on Consumer Reports website before deciding on this one from LG. The tub is huge and will accommodate any load, very important if you have kids. The controls are easy and the water level adjusts on its own. It's remarkably quiet and plays a "happy tune" when the cycle is complete (as apposed to some that have the annoying buzzer sound). The only minor downside is you can't see thru the lid.

I am extremely happy with my washer. I love the buttons in the way they are set up, along with the cute little song it plays when the load is done. I just like the fact that it plays a noise when the load is done! One thing I do not like is I had some pillows in the washer and it errored to an uneven load giving me a message that said UE. I was not aware of this at first until I went to check the laundry and The pillows were smelly from sitting there too long on error message mode.

I like my new LG washer with the large tub so I can do fewer loads of laundry. Nice musical tune to signal end of cycle instead of the usual loud noise some other products have. Since it is an HE washer ,the wash time is a fair length, but there is a speed cycle for when you need something quick. Also like the tub clean cycle. My last HE washer had a problem with mold and had no clean cycle. The delayed wash feature is good as well. Looking forward to using some of the other features.

Finally a washer that will handle my bedding, sleeping bags, and anything else we can put in it. It handles anything I have had to wash including all of the boy scout camping clothes that were really dirty after a week with only one shower. Only downside is the tub is really deep so if you are really short it is a challenge to get out small clothing items out the wash. Also if you upgrade your washer and have a small dryer you will want to upgrade to a large dryer.

This washer is great. I love the way my clothes turn out after they are washed. They have very little water left in them which helps to dry them quickly. I am short and must use tongs to retrieve the clothes from the washer. It has a large drum so I can actually put all my sheets and towels in to wash at one time. Saves me a lot of time on laundry day. Yea!

I purchased the washer and dryer set during a Best Buy sale. I have to say, this is one of the best investments I've made. I love the washer. It has a much larger washing bin than I expected, but that just I only have to wash my clothes every 2 or 3 weeks instead of every week. And if I do need to wash one or two items, the washer has a level sensor in it, so I don't have to worry about using up a lot of water for just a couple of items.

Purchased this washing machine after our old Amana bit the dust. I cannot begin to say how much of an upgrade this is. Much more efficient, and we love the "timed wash" feature, where you can throw a load in in the morning but time it to start later in the day so that it will be just finishing by the time you get home from work. Would recommend.

This washer was expensive, but comparable to others on the market. I've only had it for about a month and really like it. It washes my clothes, towels, bedding, etc so well. It is large in capacity and really does hold a lot. The cycles are rather long, but for thoroughly clean clothes, it's worth it. I would say it's a bit loud, but this washer is sleek in appearance and makes beautiful musical sounds when the cycle finishes.

I bought this washer to replace a front-loader that lasted less than 3 years. I was open to trying a new technology.
I like the large capacity (it's huge! Almost more than I need) and the fact that even though I think I have to create humongous loads, the instructions say that's not necessary- smaller loads are as effective (energy saving and cleaning ability).
The things I don't like: this washer is noisy. I would only recommend it if it was in a location away from living space.
Another thing I don't like is that you CANNOT wash anything that is waterproof or water resistant. This creates a big problem when I want to wash a mattress pad or shower curtain.
When we were considering purchasing this washer, we also considered a Samsung Toploader-I wish now I had bought the Samsung. Two of the reasons are: 1) The washer has a waterproof/water resistant cycle. 2) The lid is clear, so you can see what's going on in the washer. My husband talked me out of that one because it was $50 more expensive. Now I feel like the $50 would have been well worth it.
Both washers were highly rated by Consumer Reports, so I'd be pretty confident they would perform the same.
One think that I hadn't considered for myself, is that when the lid is up it obscures the cabinet with all my washing supplies up above it. Also the soap and fabric dispenser is really easy to forget to close when you start the cycle.

I purchased this washer from the show room. After delivery there was a small scratch on the side but hardly noticeable. I love it being ultralarge, I have always had problems trying to wash bulky bedding before. Now its done with ease. It took a little adjusting to all the digital settings but now I wouldn't be able to use another one I have everything 'Just Right'. Definitely happy with my purchase.
