Quiet, roomy if you need it, but weights laundry load and adjusts water level accordingly, water efficient, washes well. I like inside light and nice music when wash is compleated. Overall very good product. I would like to have My Cycle option as well; maybe It is there somewhere, but I did not find it yet, but it’s ok

I shopped for a washer/dryer set for about a month while waiting to close on my home. This washer (and the matching electric dryer) was sized perfectly to fit down my basement stairs. (I own a home built in 1900, and the basement stairs turn 90 degrees at the bottom.) The black stainless steel color was on sale for less than the same unit in white, and was within appx. $100 of the base model unit I had come in to see. This washer was a great value, at the price I paid. The washer does a great job and can wash a tremendous amount of clothing at once. I have not seen any leaks, as some other reviews have mentioned, nor is it loud at all. The only knock I have against this unit is that the installers did not install the shipping bolt plugs to seal the holes where the shipping bolts were. Nor was the leveling wrench left, so I cannot adjust the basic leveling of the unit.

I've had this about a month. I'm not sure I love it yet. It replaced a 13 year old front loader Kenmore HE4
Pros:
*larger washer capacity
*doesn't vibrate much
*Uses less detergent, which is also a con since I've had some sudsing issues adjusting to it.
*It is so quiet when it stops running that I had to turn on the load complete signal to know the wash was done
*clothes seem to come out very clean
Cons:
*Doesn't have an extra rinse cycle if it senses extra suds remaining. The old Kenmore would run an extra rinse automatically if it sensed suds.
*No way to permanently change the defaults - it defaults to turbo wash, but I don't want turbo wash, so I have to always unselect it.
*Can't change the stupid signal tune.
*If the soap dispenser drawer is fully pulled out, the machine door will hit it when you open or close the door. I keep the drawer and door open to avoid musty smells, but now I have to be careful not to have the drawer out too far or it will hit the door.
*No shelf on the pedestal to rest a laundry basket. My Kenmore had a shelf so I could put the laundry basket below the door when the pedestal is pulled out. I made one myself, but the door is so large that I can't have the basket on my shelf and open and close the machine door.
General observance - doesn't seem to use much water at all, yet the clothes seem clean. It just seems odd to use so little water, even for a front loader.

FANTASTIC WASHER

We purchased this washer approx. 1.5 months ago along with the dryer and find that it's great and meets all our washing needs. The machine is super quiet. It does have what can only be described as a "hissing" sound when the water is being pumped into the clothes but is normal. The spin speed is great. The "Turbo Spin" cycle is fantastic for getting almost all the water from large loads of towels, jeans, etc.. For more delicate clothes I would not recommend the Turbo Spin cycle as it will twist some clothes. When I found the proper cycle for the specific load I had in the machine, this problem was corrected. The "Direct Drive" is fantastic as it makes it more quiet. This machine does adjust itself before spinning as to not have lopsided spinning. The chime at the end of the washing cycle can be turned to high, medium, low or off. I found that low was great. The machine lights up at the end of its washing and chiming to allow you to see the clothes in the tub while taking them out and not forgetting anything in it. I had a Whirlpool washer prior to this one and as with all these washer types, you "should" wipe out the front glass and seal after each use so as to minimize any possible mold that could accumulate. I myself even remove the Soap, Softener, Bleach tray and wipe that out as I learned with my Whirlpool that mold DOES grow eventually if this is not done. This is minor for me, but some may not enjoy doing it. The front door should remain OPEN after use until fully dried out and this machine has a magnetic thing that holds the door very close to the machine verses swinging openly as with our old Whirlpool. I had forgotten how fresh clothes can smell until I got this new one. This machine does have a drain cabinet in the lower bottom left corner which has it's own little hose that pulls out and a filter which should be cleaned out about every 3 to 6 months depending on it's usage. There is always a little water that remains in the soap dispenser which the manual says is normal and that is why I take the extra moment to empty and wipe dry to avoid that mold issue that could develop. It uses very little water yet certainly enough for extremely clean clothes. I love the way the water sprays into the machine from both sides verses just one area as with our old machine. I downloaded the manual before purchasing to "learn" before I chose to buy. The drawback of "Stacking" this washer is that the stacking kit is simply a silver metal bracket. It works but when the washer is on the spin cycle, the dryer WILL shake a bit. This would not be a problem if this machine isn't stacked. The hoses that come with the washer are only 4 feet so if you are not close to your water source you will need to purchase a longer one as we had to do.

I researched washers and dryers a great deal before choosing this bundle.I chose LG based on strong reviews across the board for reliability and features. I recommend getting the Sidekick washer or the pedestal unit (with the drawer) to go under the washer. It makes the height of the door just perfect, saving my back from constant bending. My old washer was a top loader with an agitator so I was not sure what to expect with a high efficiency front loader. I am happily surprised at the number of options available and ability to do large bulky items. The cycles take longer than the old machine but I expected that and the machine is so quiet it can run during the night with no problem.

We've had the new washer, dryer and sidekick for about 2 weeks now and we love them. They are much quieter than our old ones and the clothes are washed and dried much faster and look and feel better. Being on the pedestals reduces the bending over when loading and unloading. Installed them myself. They are very heavy! I ended up putting small sliders under each foot so I could move them - works great! Impossible to move them without the sliders. Highly recommend you do the same because you will eventually have to move them. When you arrange for delivery make sure they will take them out of the box and put both the washer and dryer on their pedestals. Like I said earlier, they are very heavy.

Conquered teenage Dancewear Stench!

I've run about 8 loads of laundry in the past two days to catch up the almost 2-weeks without washing machine. Hot whites. Warm mixed. Cold-water darks. Ferret/pet laundry and... teenage dance clothing.
Although it took two tries on the latter -- the TrueSteam won the day!
Here's why I give this washing machine an unwavering 5-star rating:
#1 - CLEAN, Fresh, Clothing
We buy our washing machine to get our clothing clean, right? This thing does it, with well thought-out modes and options to be gentle when you need it, and thorough. The "Normal" wash has done an excellent job on all but the teenage dancewear clothing.
For the dancewear with embedded stench (yes -- I inhaled.. with my nose.. what better test to determine if it's truly clean?!), I thought a hot-water wash would do it. Nope. I washed a second time using the "TrueSteam" option which presumably would help "open the pores" of the fabric for a deeper clean.... and.. IT WORKS.. IT REALLY WORKS!
#2 - Clear online manuals and concise guides -- very clearly help you understand what modes are for which situations... nice going!
#3 - Limited Shimmy/vibration -- our last front-loader (Whirlpool Duet) shimmied.. a LOT. The rooms next to it would shake.. and they said it was functioning "normally". I leveled this per the instructions and although it does vibrate when in high spin mode, the unit does not walk across the tiles (2nd floor laundry closet) and is does not shake like the last unit did. Yay!
#4 - The pretty blue tub-light. OK.. this may sound silly, but it's fun to watch! I literally sat there for 20 minutes just watching how it spins and chooses to handle the clothing... and YES.. I was not just procrastinating.. really! (I think) The cats seemed less impressed, and a bit scared watching it.
#5 - OK. The silly alert melody .. My wife smiles every time the "I'm done" melody plays... "That's so FUN!" Yeah.. I may disable it at some point, but for now it's a bonus :-)
#6 - Wash-speed with Turbo-Mode. WOW WOW WOW. It can do an entire heavy load in under 30 minutes.. under 25 minutes... and it comes out clean and fresh... WOW. Saves time. Saves energy.
#7 -- Repair costs -- hopefully I won't need this for a long while, but a local tech said LG washers are less costly to repair due to their more intelligent design (you can replace individual parts, and don't need to replace larger parts which are "attached/combined").. he also said LG's just don't break as much. Cool!
So... LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Nothing bad do say.
Here's to continued success. <clink>

This is my 3rd set of LG washer and dryers. (when I sold previous homes the buyers wanted me to leave the machines). Great excuse to buy new! I can put cashmere and wool sweaters and wool coats into the wool cycle and they come out like new! (even the ones that say dry clean only in the tags attached to the clothing). Everything comes out clean and looking like new. I NEVER take anything to the dry cleaners, this machine can do it all! It's quiet, efficient, and nice to look at. Highly recommend!

I did a lot of research in store and online before purchasing. I've had this washer for about 3 weeks and I love washing my laundry. Very easy to use and great modern color. So many settings and options with interactive display so I can really get my laundry clean. Steam function and allergy reducer setting with delay in start and a stay fresh option to keep clothes fresh when you can't remove them from the washer right away. Also, quiet as promised. I've washed small loads and large loads and this washer is quiet with both. Some increased vibration during the spin cycle with larger loads, but only at the start of the spin. Timer countdown on display and cute song plays at the end of each cycle, so I know when it's all done. I would highly recommend to others.

My wife and I have had a few washers over the years. They have always been the top load, with the last being a popular brand with the HE detergent. They all had issues with randomly draining the tub, leaving the clothes soaked or leaving the clothes soapy. This one has been fantastic. Its in our living area and unless its on the super wash (turbo wash?) setting, you can't hear the thing. Clothes come out fairly dry, letting the dryer be more efficient, since clothes aren't dripping of water when we load them to be dried. It's a fairly attractive unit as well. Only down side is the LG Washer App. It lets you download custom wash cycles. Would have been nice if it did something useful, like notify you how much time is left or if the cycle is complete.

I love this washer. I can wash nearly twice as much in one load as I used to wash in my old (12 yrs old) high-quality front-loading washer. Also, the amount of soap (liquid) need is only about 2/3 of what I used to use. So, twice the clothes cleaned for much less soap. The clothes are also coming out bright and clean. Old white socks I'd given up on, even with bleach, are coming out whiter even without bleach. The towels setting spins the towels almost dry so the dry cycle is 20-30 minutes less for more towels. An energy and soap saver!

Very well laid out and expected to be a long lasting appliance. I’ve had for about a month and it works flawlessly. My experience with this brand across other appliances has been excellent. This is my third generation of front load washer/dryer combo and my best experience to date. Issues I’ve had with other front loads are thoughtfully addressed in this model. Also highly recommend by leading consumer review websites.

We have had the washer for a month or so. It is attractive if that matters. The machine is pretty straightforward to use. It is quiet in all cycles and seems to use less water than our previous Kenmore machine that was 12 years old. I am impressed at the efficiency of the spin cycle and that clothes come our not only clean but nearly dry. This should lead to less wear and tear on your dryer. I scored 4 out of 5 because i think that a machine rating should be based on longevity or quality over time. If the washer is functioning at this level a year or longer and no problems requiring repair have come up I would score it a 5.

I had to upgrade my washer after a series of horrendous experience with Samsung washers, constant problems with the last one and the one before that got recalled due to a major safety concern. Bought this one after researching on the customer reviews across a number of consumer forums. It's been almost 6 months and we have been really happy with this purchase: the washer is quiet, has a range of wash settings and works well. We specially like the steam based wash options, which come in very handy for dirty loads that need the extra level of cleaning. It's aesthetically pleasing too. Glad we went with an LG!

So far this washer has worked well. No issues two weeks in use. Looks very nice, super roomy, you can easily wash a king sized comforter. Clothes have come out clean so far and fresh smelling. THe only issue I have with these front loaders is when using detergent pods they don't melt so easily and some remnants are left in the rubber gasket. Using liquid detergent works much better. Important to regualrly clean your gaskets anyway to keep them functioning and smelling fresh inside.
