Very nice machine, washes king comforter and sheets in one load! Works like it is supposed to, saves water, fun to use! This is a big step above what I had and I was not aware of everything I was missing out on. I think an agitator works better than not, and this one so far has been excellent. I definitely recommend this washer, it has many wash options, has safety features (self locking top), is fairly quiet and my clothes feel very clean.

I have been using this for two weeks and so far, I am happy with it. I was so happy to find a top loader with an agitator. Things I like: the knob and setting options (like adjusting the spin), graphite color, drum is always dry and never smells, the clear lid, digital screen showing how much time is left. My clothes seem very clean. The agitator helps keep the load balanced so it doesn't shake and move a lot. I like the clear lid. My last washer was a top loader without an agitator and my sheets would form a mushroom at the bottom and not spin properly - this machine does not do that! This drains really well. The graphite color is really beautiful!
Things I wish were different: I wish I could program my own cycles or make adjustments to the pre-built cycles and have them be permanently saved. For example, the Normal cycle defaults to Warm and I would prefer that it default to Tap Cold. It's not a big deal - just a few buttons to push. But it would be nice to turn the knob and just hit start. This machine is a little louder than my last machine - not a big deal if it's in a garage or laundry room and you can shut the door.
One thing to consider - I went up a size with this washer (I had 4.6 cubic feet before) but having the agitator takes up a bit of space so consider overshooting in size, if you are on the fence. I don't feel like I gained any extra space in the size change and I wish I had gone a little bigger. We have three kids and do a lot of laundry.

We haven’t had this machine for long a couple months, but so far it has been a good one. Far better than any of the other ones we’ve tried. The agitator makes a world of difference. Easy to use and doesn’t take forever to do a load of laundry. Big enough to do just about anything, it’s quite and smooth. We haven’t used the wi-fi option yet seems like a little over kill to me but might be useful to some. Just have to see how long it holds up but so far very pleased and would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s tired of these washers with no agitator and take forever to do a load.

This is a great washing machine. It’s very quiet and I love all the extra room I have on the inside. No more hitting my knuckles on the agitator because of the extra room. Clothes come out smelling clean and fresh! Hopefully soon I can get the matching dryer!

I bought this washer about a month ago. I did a ton of research and the most important things to me were that it was top load with an agitator, and that it had speed cycles. This LG washer did not disappoint. First, it is cavernous inside which is helpful to keep larger loads from wrinkling. The agitator cleans the clothes very well, and it’s super quiet. At the price point it is a fantastic option. I had a much more expensive frontload Electrolux that didn’t clean as well as this. I would highly recommend it and it’s matching dryer

This LG unit was purchased to replace a Samsung side loader that we never were happy with. Not only did that machine not clean the clothes, it wasn't dependable and it we constantly had issues with mold. After significant amount of research we selected the LG. 4.8 CU Ft High Efficiency Top Loader and haven't been disappointed. We love the option to use the Deep Fill option when we just want some old fashioned agitator option, especially for sweaty or soiled clothing. We have yet to wash a King Size comforter, but it definitely is large enough to handle.

First of all Thanks for all the reviews from everyone that’s what made my Decision to purchase the LG washer
Ok so this is our 3rd washer in 3 years the other washer was a Maytag that broke down after a 1 1/2 of using it, the other was a Samsung don’t buy! We thought, since it was a Maytag that it would last a lot longer but NO! And we are still waiting for it to be repaired.
The day the Maytag broke down we purchased the LG (who likes going to the Washateria not me or my husband) which is a excellent washer the cloths feels clean and smells clean
The tub is big enough to add king size Quilts and sheets, don’t know about a comforter but the others fit just fine, jeans, towels etc.,and when it washes it actually fills the tub with plenty of water to wash well that’s the best option about this washer which in turn washes the cloths very well not only that but it when it agitates it has plenty a room for the clothes. Not only is that the best option but the agitator it’s made very well, Direct drive We’ve had really bad luck with washers a Samsung and the Maytag, 2 in the last 3 years but this one is by far the best washer ever
The Maytag is going to be repaired because it’s still under warranty and it’s going to be put in the Garage because I’m not switching out my good LG for something that breaks down and is not reliable. We may even sell the Maytag and get another LG.

An Adjustment from Old to New Technology

A good washer, but will have to adjust to the new style of washing. While the agitator does move the clothes around a bit, it does not suck them under and circulate them with vigor like the older washers. The agitator is slower and less noisy and the water level is just enough to be level with the amount of clothes. These points are probably why it is more efficient and better for the clothes. You also have to be very careful to make sure you load the washer with similar items or the washer will not function properly and cause balancing errors. With that being said, the clothes turn out sufficiently clean. The capacity is great for large loads and bedding. The spin cycle removes water well, which speeds up drying time. You can make plenty of adjustments to the washing cycle. The WIFI feature is appreciated, as it allows the washer to notify you on your phone when the cycle is complete. A welcome upgrade!

I've not had it very long but so far I am very impressed withe quality of the machine and how well it operates. I like the feature where it spins the clothes while still dry to distribute more evenly. It also slowly spins as water and detergent is added to evenly wet the clothes.Much better than older machines that just pour water in one spot. Does an excellent job of spinning the clothes to dry at the end of the cycle. Very quite with minimal vibration during spin cycle. Easy to install as I did it myself. I would probably give it a higher rating but I've not had it very long.

Quiet, efficient, and looks good! So far so good with this washer. It has a huge capacity, clothes smell clean (even with well water), and it is quiet! This washer replaces a five year old Samsung, which has been problematic since nearly the beginning. Fingers crossed LG makes products to last.

This is the top load washing machine with the agitator. It gets the clothes clean and spins them very dry. My only criticism would be if you wash one blanket or comforter on the bedding cycle it becomes easily unbalanced and throws an error. So wash more items on the bedding cycle.

Nice look. I always liked the tall agitator. Allows clothes to be moved around better. Tests the amount of clothes before it fills the water. For no overuse. A good amount of clothes can fit. Or hardly at all but it will clean either way. The door opens nicely and is lightweight. Very quiet.

Really have enjoyed this washer. It cleans well and can handle large or small loads. Overall relatively quiet machine, and the glass lid is great for seeing what’s in the machine and knowing where it is in the cycle.

Much improved washer over front loaders. Clothes get cleaner, holds more, quieter and NO SMELL! I wish I had gotten this instead of a front loader years ago.
Having a cattle ranch means very dirty, heavy clothes. Now they are clean again. I highly recommend this.

Earlier in 2019 I bought a competitor product 5.2 Cu.ft, but had to send it back due to it's over efficiency in using water. even after a complete wash, the cloths on the top were not even wet. Not sure if it was an issue with that particular machine or all machines are over efficient leading to inefficient wash. Anyhow, I returned it back and started to research on new ones. In 2021 Thanks giving, I found LG had a model with Agitator 4.8 cu. ft, and this was something I was used to in my current 21 year old GE, 3.4 cu. ft. Finally I pulled the plug to get this model and it's corresponding Dryer. Well after it was delivered on Dec 16th 2021, and until now, I have completed at least 15 full loads with different types of settings, and I am completely satisfied with it's performance. Initially I was getting a lot of white spots big ones on dark colored cloths, even though and wash colors and whites separately. Then I started to cut down on the amount of H.E. detergent, and it seemed to lessen the white dirty spots. So of the hurdles I faced were getting it to work with WiFi. It never registered correctly when I manually added the washer to ThinQ. For some reason I could not get the QR code. After multiple tries, finally I found the correct QR code which is on the left side of the washer, and when registered it was successful. Some WiFi limitation everyone needs to know. After a cycle, the washer will power off, which makes sense. But using WiFi, you cannot power it on. Change of all the settings through the ThinQ app can be done to what you can do on the washer physically. But to power it on, you need to physically go to the machine and touch and hold the power button. All buttons are touch, super simple, easy to understand etc. I am a tech savvy person, so using any complicated electronics is not an issue. But my wife also found easy to use this washer. Agitator works great. You will lose 0.2 Cu. Ft, in this model compared to the impellor, but it is OK, if you do your laundry as I do, separating the colors and whites, which I am used to as a kid. It does the job, dirty spots on the cloths are removed. Usually as the load is always high, I use Deep Fill, so that the water fill to the top of the cloths and submerges it. For smaller loads, it adds water as required and will use the water efficiently. I think the sound level is around 60 DB, very quite. I have not added any sound isolators to the bottom, as the washer is quite deep and at 5.7 feet height, it is quite a reach to the bottom of the drum. For quality I have given 4 stars, and it is not for the wash, but as the body is not even close to the robustness as my previous one. but I think this is what it is in all newer models. Just like any new machines, devices, cars etc, lot of electronics is involved. Has its own pros and cons. I will add another update in 6 months or one year to see how things are.

Good product. Size is just right for our family. Can handle small to large loads easily. Quiet operation. It did take a bit getting used to the start of each load for the smart appliance to evaluate each specific load run.

Love it! The agitator is a nice upgrade as I feel the extra movement cleans and rinses laundry more efficiently. I like the deep wash cycle to add water to larger loads. Runs quiet and finishes cycle in no time! Love the graphite steel color, the glass top, and the pleasant jingle at the end of the cycle. Only negative, had trouble setting up the WiFi connection. Overall, a great buy!

I’ve had this washer for 2 months now along with the matching dryer. It washes my cloths really well and is very quiet. The water fills just above the cloths and everything gets submerged into the water. The clothes practically come out more dry than my last washer. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the soap tray is filled with water after the wash is done. When this happens I just open it and let the water drain. This is minor and I can deal with it.
