This unit on paper is 10 decibels lower than the 10,000 btu GE unit. The unit came dented underneath the faceplate on the shell of the air conditioner, but I was able to get it on so did not bother to call bestbuy (but I hope you see this).
I am extremely happy with the effectiveness and how quiet this unit is. Highly recommend this LG

I ordered this window A/C with the highest of expectations based on the reviews. I was looking for a robust window unit to install on the first floor of my 2,800 sq ft home and this seemed to be a good choice. The first unit arrived and it was damaged (see the pics ... the box was not damaged so it obviously was damaged prior to being packaged). I ordered a replacement and after installing it - which is a HUGE pain in the butt, by the way - it would not turn on. I spent about two hours going through the installation process and turned on the A/C prior to doing all the "finishing touches" (foam insulation .etc.), at which point it worked, but then when I was trying to install the smart app on my phone (WHICH YOU CAN ONLY USE WITH A 2.4 ghz NETWORK, BY THE WAY, SO THERE'S ANOTHER FEATURE I PAID FOR BUT CAN'T USE SINCE I HAVE A 5 ghz NETWORK), the unit would not power on. I ordered a replacement unit because after all this work I have to give it one more shot. Let's see if third time's a charm.
Synopsis thus far: Initial quality SUCKS, the installation process is PAINFUL, the customer service (all overseas) is HORRIBLE, and I am only willing to give LG/Best Buy one more shot because of all the work I have already invested.

Bought this unit for a home office to make lock down working more comfortable as my old unit was loud and under powered. This unit cools the room quickly but is still too loud to be used while on calls. The ThinQ app is useful for cooling the room before I need to use it and checking I’ve switched the unit off.

I have purchased 7 of these so far and they have worked perfectly. I have customized them for through the wall installations and had no problems. These are great on eco mode and use a fraction of the electricity than the AC's they replaced. Some reviews said they were a little loud, that is not my experience. The remote control works really well from across the room. They replaced 30,000 BTU units and cool better.

This is our 2nd LG air conditioner and we hope it lasts as long as or longer than our 1st. It's even quieter than the 1st one that really isn't noisy either. 1st one is still running coming up on 8 years old and though effiicent this new one is more efficient and cools faster. We chose this one since it's a SLIDE OUT Chassis and makes it easy to remove, clean and re-install and based on our 1st LG AC performance and realiability. We have horizontal hung windows so installation is not easy here requiring me to cut a custom sized board to fit the top and more work sealing and painting. But for normal vertical hung windows installation should be a snap! We gave the old one to a family in need of an AC & we hope it runs a long time for them. Since this new one replaced the old one in the same room we have an easy time comparing the two AC's performance & noise level. We also have an LG Dryer that's still running great after nearly 10 years.

it works and it's heavy and very quiet - too quiet for me, that's the only reason I don't like it, I'm the odd 1 that likes when appliances make noise, had little choice my old 10,000 btu quit working and all the new ones are quiet
As for how long it will last? will see I'm a Total Tech member so I got 24 month

I don’t have too many complaints. I did not have issues with it connecting to my wifi and seems to work well since Beaty Buy installed. I live in a large pre-war apartment and this unit does a good job keeping my living room and separate dinning cool on the humid days we’ve had recently. I think the unit is a good value for the money but I do recommend having it professionally installed or having at least two people put it in your window.

This is the 2nd LG brand A/C I will be returning to Best Buy within a week - 2 different models. This one sounds like a piece of plastic is stuck in the fan blades. Will not be buying another LG window A/C, which is disappointing. I've never had trouble with LG brand A/C until this year.

AC only used 3 times and after 3 months stopped turning on, Best Buy won’t done anything and lg said this ac needs an electrician to run a dedicated line even tho I had an ac in this same spot for 20 years. Best Buy and lg never let’s you know about this, lg says they about to change labels to state this, but no one is willing to fix or take this special ac back

This is a great A/C! Cools our room in no time. Being able to turn it on through the app when we are on our way back home is amazing. It is not super quiet, also not very noisy, but it is definitely quieter that the one we had. And its a great value.

Used this for 1 season so far and it works great. Have it in a large garden room and very happy with it. Seems to be very economical to run based on my electric bill. The remote is easy to use and it cools really well for a room with little insulation and lots of windows.

Very easy to install, replaced a previous LG model that molded. Be very careful to install it at a slight tilt to avoid the costly replacement I had to make.
For some reason this one is *much* higher quality than the first 12,000 BTU unit i bought.
My apt is sun facing and 450 square feet, this cools the entire space with no issues.

Purchased two Frigidaire Window AC units first and they both failed. I wanted to buy US products, but I will never buy Frigidaire again. Ended up purchasing the LG 10000 BTU Window AC unit. The unit is a bit loud but what can you do. I cannot speak to the longevity of this product but at least it works for now. I found that you should just add 2000 BTU’s to what ever you are buying to be safe. I did this and have not experienced any ill effects of the BS that is said on the web. Good product so far but time will tell.

The air conditioner is working great. The air is cold and the energy saver works. The noise is minimal. The technicians who installed it from Best Buy were so nice. I am very happy.

If you want a puddle of water on the floor then this AC is for you! Less than a year since I bought this AC, it started to leak water flooding my room. (many people complain about it)! They refuse to service the unit and have given me runaround for months - outrageous! Do yourself a favour and stay away from the LG products!
