    Impressed after first use

Pretty impressed after first use. Purchased two of these to cool my 1200 sq ft 2 bedroom apartment. I usually use an LG 4000 BTU window unit in the living room and block off the room only keeping the one cool. This year we are expecting a baby boy and wanted to keep the whole house cool for the summer for my wife, the babe, and our 2 labs. Not a fan of hanging giant 10000 but units out 2nd floor windows. These are very convenient, easy to set up and work great. First use I brought all 1200 sq ft from 73 and very humid to 68 and no humidity in about 40 minutes. Usually portables are on the loud side, but these are very quiet. Maybe even quieter than my LG window unit. Also easy to pop out of the window if you want to open them up on a breezy day. Which we do often with AC units. I can’t speak to the longevity, but very happy after first use. Portables are not as efficient as window units, but if you have a specific use case or want to cool large areas without hanging large ac units dangerously out the window, I highly suggest these. The ThinQ tech that allows you to remotely control the unit over WiFi is a must for me with being able to control it while my dogs are home alone on the heat of summer. It works flawlessly as it does on my LG window unit as well. Be aware that when connecting it to your WiFi, I find the most success doing it “manually” (you will see what I mean in the app). When connecting to a hidden network it WILL fail the first time, do it a second time and it will work (not sure why this is the case, but have noticed Travis with all LG ThinQ technology.

This portable ac works very well. If you start with an already hot room it takes half hour to an hour to really get it cool. Of course how big the room is. Once cool it keeps the area cooler. I bought this though for the Wi-Fi so I could turn it on at work and by the time I get home it’s cooler. I have to say that so far and I’ve used it a few times that it worked great.

Good unit / bad delivery handling

Not sure how to review this, my unit was delivered yesterday and because it was hot I was anxious to open it and set it up. Immediately I noticed that the box the unit came in was dented and looked like it was thrown around a couple of times. Nonetheless I took the ac unit out of the box and everything looked good. I read the instructions and set everything up and when it came to plugging the unit in I noticed that the power plug was bent and broken. I immediately called LG and reported the problem and while doing so I decided to put the bottom part of the plug inside the hole and then inserted to the power outlet. To my surprise it worked and the ac seems to be working great. The LG agent advised that they had noted it in case of any issues but ultimately advised to contact Best Buy about the issue. At this point i already have it set up and and don’t wanna go thru the hassle of exchanging / returning it especially with the hot days coming up.

The AC works well, but the box says its for 450 sqft. Best Buy has listed that this item can cover 500 sqft multile times. They need to update the listing because it’s false adveristing!

Great Portable Air Conditioner--Eay to Install in

The LG DUAL Inverter 14000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner (LP1419IVSM) does a great cooling job. I am using it to cool around 950 sq ft. The weather has been in the mid-90's and very humid but the air conditioner has kept the space in my two-story townhome comfortable. I use a high-velocity fan to direct cool air down the stairs to the first floor. i discovered that i could use a piece of foam insulation board in place or the window screen. For an easy vent solution, cut out a hole in the foam board and tape the hose in place over the hole using duct and gorilla tape. See the attached photos.

We wanted a larger, quieter air conditioner and were put off by weight of a larger window unit. The LG LP1419IVSM is as powerful, efficient and quiet as it is claimed to be. The WiFi connectivity comes in handy when you are away too. It’s no wonder why this unit sells out so quickly. Thanks LG!

The unit is quieter than I was expecting. The window vent is small enough that you can still look outside. There has not been a really hot day yet, but the few times we have used it it has performed well. The app allows access to some useful features that will come in handy during the summer.

Bad QC - Leak In Condensation Basin Ruined Floors

Received unit that was cracked on bottom and leaking. Opened it up to track down the leak after stepping in a puddle in the corner of my room and found that there were several screws just rattling around inside the unit as several broken pieces of plastic. The leak ruined about 50-100 sq ft of flooring too. So frustrating. No damage to the box or packaging that I could tell, so the crack on the underside condensation basin must have happened at the factory. Super frustrating. Sadly the leak was so slow that of course I didn't notice until after return window had closed. Just wish I could swap it out for one that isn't damaged. Never would have crossed my mind to flip it over to examine the bottom. Now I have to replace carpets and several hundred dollars of flooring.

Needed something for the home office/gaming room to supplement the central AC. 4090s get hot. I selected this LG Portable AC unit for two reasons...one was the variable-speed condenser for low(er) noise. And second, because it was self evaporating and wouldn't need to be emptied when being used as an AC. So far, the unit has proved to be fairly quiet. Not as quiet as I had hoped, but quiet enough given the cooling performance it offers. If I am watching, playing, or listening to something at a reasonable volume, I do not notice the AC unit on Low and Medium settings. On High, it's loud as expected. The self evaporating feature has worked flawlessly. I've ran this AC unit for nearly two weeks straight, 8-12 hours a day...no issues, no leaks. So why 4 stars instead of 5? The remote isn't great. It works, but it can't read any of the current settings from the AC unit...so you need to keep pressing buttons on the remote until the remote reads the settings you want. The WiFi was problematic at first. I had to go through the setup 3-4 times before it finally worked consistently. The app is a much better control option than the remote. The window kit is also just OK. The foam feels a bit cheap and has no adhesive backing causing it to shift when you're doing your final fitments. The hose is also somewhat short. LG wants you to position the hose in such a way that it has a top "arch" to prevent water from entering the unit through the open window. If you do set it up this way, you will need to place the unit very close to the window. The third issue with the window kit is the fitment of the hose on the AC unit's backside. Depending on the position of the air hose, it has a very small, but audible air leak. Not a huge issue as I positioned the unit in a way that provided more downforce on that particular area of hose causing it to seal properly, but still, something to be aware of on an expensive unit like this. All in all, initial reliability and performance have been great. Wish it was a tad quieter at the lowest setting. Accessories should be made to a higher standard of quality given the increased cost of this over a comparable window unit. 4/5

Quiet and powerful. Heavy, so I placed it on a small dolly to more easily empy the reservoir with gravity. Far better than a window unit. and a cinch to install I bought three with no regrets!

Good a/c better than any other LG I’ve purchased. Its look is as good as anything I’ve purchased from anyone else. The inverter tech makes a difference. The exhaust hose design on this model is better that the cheaper ones because it goes straight up and out rather than just straight out the back. Streamlined and worth the cost.

    Window installation can be tricky

Bought this to use in a Master Bedroom in a home built in 1891 with very narrow windows that a window unit wouldn't fit in. The box was beaten up and delivered to a neighbor, but the casters were okay, and the unit appeared fine. Unpacked it, read the manual, and completed the installation. It is a fairly easy exercise. The only thing I caution you about is the "tab locks," where the hose in the rear unit "locks" onto the plastic guard that positions in the window frame. The tabs are not "locks" at all. They are pretty much useless tabs that allow the hose to travel freely into and out of "locking." I took double-sided Gorilla tape on one side and Duct tape on the other to make the union between the two stable and easy to modify later. Then I secured the insulating foam all around that plate before inserting the whole assembly in the window. That helps secure the seal, keeps out bugs, etc. You also need to consider the height of the hose because, if you have any solid window sill, you cannot adjust the height of the plastic panel that fits into the window - only the width. As a result, you may have a gap at the bottom, so the whole thing will fit in the window. Save some of the insulation material for that. As a result, the cheap "locking system" cost this product a star. On the flip side, this thing does a great job pumping out cold air so far without being overly noisy. However, you must consider how far you expect it to project cold air because the fan is only good enough to throw it about six feet out. A portable fan beside it helps a lot. I am happy with it and not so happy. It is an expensive unit, and only time will tell how dependable it will be. I recommend it if you have a tricky window situation that won't allow a traditional box AC.

Does fine at cooling the room. Also does a pretty good job at dehumidifying in the dry mode, although remember it will also cool the room so it doesn't work if it's cold and damp. I find the app helpful to turn it on a little while before I head home from work. It's not very intuitive, but it provides the options to change all the settings, and I didn't have any problems with setup. It's quieter than other air conditioners, but that's very noticeable.

Excellent air conditioner, easy to install and use! It has an app you can use to program, unit on wheels for easily moving when ready to store for winter, adapts to various window sizes, and modern-looking sleek profile for a unit this size. The only downside is that running continually is not recommended. So my son turns it off at night when he uses a ceiling fan but runs the rest of the day.
