I did extensive research before pulling the trigger on an OLED tv. You see so much online about burn in burn in burn in... But in conclusion from my research it was all people who did not own an OLED that were hyping up burn in. Yes it is possible BUT you would have to intentionally neglect it to get it... Or just leave it on CNN or something with static banners 24/7 never switching up the content.
Pros:
- Perfect Blacks
- 0 Uniformity Issues
- 4K/HDR/Dolby Vision
- 120hz with VRR/ Nvidia G-Sync and AMD Freesync
- Newest HDMI tech to support Next Gen Consoles
- Fast Response Time
- GREAT out of the box picture
- Anti Burn In Tech (Pixel Shift, Screensaver, etc.)
Cons:
- Burn in? ( If you are VERY careless)
- Hours in use count a lot more with these as over time pixels will lose brightness but that will be MANY MANY years down the road.
My main reason for getting this TV was to play my next gen consoles on it. I wanted it for its 120hz ability, HDR, Dolby Vision, VRR... All of the goods! And OF COURSE the perfect blacks!
There is 0 uniformity issues, no backlight bleed since the pixels are all self lit, black is black and not a halo gray. Really good response time for a TV as well!
Of course movies look GREAT as well! There is really nothing this TV can't do! You could even use it for a PC monitor just be mindful to turn off your task bar, desktop icons and have a animated wallpaper or black wallpaper.

After having an alienware 1440p ultrawide monitor for 2 years, I started to notice that the screen was actually too small for me, it didn't fill my field of view enough. I wanted something bigger and 4k.
This 48 inch OLED TV is a little bigger than I would have wanted for a desktop monitor but it turned out great.
Video games look amazing on this. The colors look very accurate and vibrant. The 120Hz refresh rate at 4k is great and input seems very low for 4k, I haven't measured the response time but I haven't noticed it being less than the alienware monitor that I was using.
The graphics card that I'm using is an Nvidia RTX 2070 super and it doesn't support HDMI 2.1, so at the moment I don't get the full benefits of HDR, But i do get HDR while gaming.
For HDR content I have to use the streaming apps on the TV and not stream the content directly from my computer. After I get an RTX 3080 this won't be necessary.
Watching movies in 4k and other high quality content looks fantastic on this TV. My expections have been met and exceeded.
If you're a gamer looking for a tv to use as a monitor this is the one. It's priced in a way that is very competitive with most high end ultrawide gaming monitors in the 34+ inch range, and with this tv you get so much more than what any monitor can offer.
I strongly recommend this as a computer monitor.

I've been on the pursuit for the "perfect" monitor for my rig for awhile. VA, IPS, Mini-LED. Tried them all. Recently upgraded to the LG CX 48" OLED 4K HDR 120Hz with Gsync. Omg... nothing else comes CLOSE.
Real perfect blacks. The color vibrancy..! Glossy without the annoying glare because there isn't a panel gap. Also using fiber optic 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 so no issues with 4K 120hz 4:4:4 chroma and VRR.
The size can be too big for some people but I wall mounted mine and it's the perfect viewing distance.
Using a custom black Windows theme and no wallpaper to mitigate burn-in concerns but there's so many built-in mitigations though like pixel shift, pixel refresh, etc. Works amazing.

A truly next gen tv! The picture is great with 4K UHD and also Dolby for some streaming platforms. Intuitive and robust settings, many options for all settings. Perfect for PS5/next gen console gaming with constant 4K/60fps performance. 120hz compatible but have not tested or experienced this. HDMI 2.1 on all ports is a plus. The LG sounds options were an unexpected plus as well. Great buy!

This isn't a review for using it as a TV - this is a review for using it as a PC gaming display. I built a gaming PC and then purchased this in anticipation of using a RTX 3090 graphics card with it. My RTX 2070S FTW3 doesn't support HDMI 2.1, so I bought a Club3D CAC-1085 DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 4K120Hz HDR adapter to experience 4K120 HDR gameplay. I was blown away by the gameplay quality on the LG 48CX. There's no eye strain at close distances. Blacks are friggen black, and the colors are brilliant. I'll never go back to a non-OLED display for PC gaming.
If you're considering a CX series OLED for PC gaming, hurry up and buy this model. I can't wait to purchase the 77CX for the theater room...for movies and PC gaming from the sofa.
I've tested Dolby Vision using the built in Smart TV apps. Picture quality is epic. I'm happy to finally own a TV that can passthru and process Atmos, but I don't own a HDMI 2.1 theater receiver yet. I'm sure I can get TrueHD to my older receiver nonetheless, but this isn't for TV it's for gaming only. I will do further testing as a TV when I get the 77CX.
I purchased a compatible wall mount to mount it on the wall next to my PC (also wall mounted using a VESA 400x200 mount). I'm moving the OLED and the desk it's on between the walls around the PC, as shown in the photos. I value the anti-glare coating on the display very much. I hope this review is of value to you, especially the gamers (=

OLED TVs are worth the hype. This LG CX 48" I use as a PC monitor. 4K 120HZ 10bit-4:4:4 RGB FreeSync no problems at all. Everything looks amazing after dialing in a few settings. HDR looks amazing and it actually works, unlike the gimmicky PC monitor implementations people are used to.
FYI you WILL need a HDMI 2.1 capable source to experience the highest quality passthrough!
Highly recommend, worth the higher price. Will never go back to LCD.

This is my first ever OLED TV and I love it. I'm using it as a PC monitor at 100% scale, with an RTX 3080 FE to get the full 10bit 120Hz. Text are good. Picture quality is insanely beautiful. Watching a 4k HDR movie or playing a 4K HDR game is on another level, compare to my previous 27" IPS monitor.
Now, onto the bad. In 2020/2021, LG still uses low-speed 100Mbit ethernet port and USB 2.0 ports. On an expensive TV like this and LG skimps on a few cents. Sure, the wifi is higher bandwidth, but I still get buffering (because of wifi interference with all the other wifi devices I have in my room). That's why I prefer to use ethernet when streaming media. I bought a USB 3.0-to-Ethernet adaptor on Amazon to solve this, but it still cannot uses the full 1Gbit speed of the adapter because of USB 2.0 ports. Way to go, LG.
If you are getting this for a PC monitor, make sure to take the necessary precautions to reduce burn-in (black wallpaper, disable desktop icons and taskbar). Overall, I totally recommend this CX if you want the best gaming/movie experience (even with the cons I mentioned above).

This thing is a complete beast. I use it as a monitor for both gaming and work. The picture quality on this thing makes you feel like you're actually there when looking at it. I have mounted on my wall and it was very easy to do due to the weight of it not being heavy. Even though its really thin and, if you're like me, handle this thing with kiddie gloves cause of how much it costs, this thing is still durable. The build quality is great, and the screen is flawless, now keep in mind this is pre-claibration. I would highly recommend if you want to make the most of your next gen console or even your gaming pc, this thing is perfect for it.

I use it on my desk as a PC Monitor, consoles, and watching movies on streaming services. You need a RTX 3080 to get 4k120 but it is worth it. With HDR it’s a dream. I don’t have a HDMI 2.1 console yet. But with my PS4 pro the games that are HDR 4K look fantastic. The AI upscaling gives new life to non 4K content Never would i though I’d play Bloodborne looking like this. It’s amazing. Sure the price is high for a 48” but it’s worth it, and future proof. Would recommend for desk setup 100% more then a gaming monitor.

This is a really nice TV. I like that I can tie it into my google home, there are a few commands it will respond to, such as changing the HDMI, changing volume and turning power on/off. The colors are unbelievable, they really pop out on the screen. The sound is great too. This TV is super thin, so be careful when attaching the tv stand. I had no paper instructions on how to attach it, so I looked it up on google? Odd? Overall I am happy with it, but I wish they would have put this 48 inch size on sale like they did the 55 inch. I actually paid more for this size, but the 55 was too big for the room. One thing I do not like is that the HDMI ports are on the left side of TV, I wish the were directly in back to hide the cords better.

We could not be happier with this TV. Everything about it is perfect. The picture clarity is amazing, rich tones, true color. It's as if the people on the screen are in the room. Viewing is fine from any angle too. Sound quality is great, a sound bar is not necessary for a normal sized family den.
Best Buy installation and set-up service was priceless. The remote is easy to understand.

Love this tv it’s gorgeous and great fir video games! Very nice user interface I love the wand, and the whole set up. Lg did an amazing job with this model OLED tv. The person that checked me out at Best Buy at the mall of Georgia also had one for the same purpose (gaming) and was very helpful on it I made the right choice. Tv sound quality is great it sounds like I’m in a theatre, has a lot of base and thump to it.

I will admit, I was skeptical when I bought the tv. I have heard nothing but good things, but I tend to hold off on buying something just because other people say its good. Well, I can confidently say, this is the best OLED tv on the market (aside from its newer model). I cant tell a noticable difference in them however. I use this tv as a PC monitor and it is just AMAZING. G-Sync, true HDR, 120hrz refresh rate, you just cant beet it for the price.

Better than my Sony! Using the 48 as a monitor/bedroom tv and yes the oled picture is better than my Sony 900e led living room tv! Also the built in speakers are surprisingly good. Great for gaming would buy again.
