TV pictured looked good in the store but even better in the house. Color is bright and accurate. Operation is simple. Sound bar adds to the experience.

It's my first time buying an LG TV and it's also my first time owning a 4k UHD . It has so many features that I haven't been able to look at all of them. I like the TV and I bought it because it was on sale and a great price. I'm happy with it so far and I'm sure that anyone would be. I waited a long time before buying this TV for a few reasons , one was because I didn't need it because my other tv still worked and two was after looking and comparing different types and brands and sizes this was the one I ended up purchasing and my mother's TV went out so that gave me the excuse to but a new one since I gave my mother my old one, lol. I don't think anyone would really be disappointed with this purchase.

Fantastic TV the picture takes a little fooling with to find what's right for you. But after that smooth sailing, and what a upgrade from 1080

At first, I thought that I had made a bad purchase until I got to watching 4k movies and playing my PS4 and now I know I made the right decision purchasing this T.V.

The good: Outstanding smart platform with good app selection; great, innovative Magic remote (like using a Wii); very fast and responsive OS with tons of configuration and calibration options; stylish and well-built design with a stable curved base. TV has good uniformity with little dirty screen effect or clouding (larger models may be different), good anti-reflection screen, wide color gamut but not as wide as higher end TVs. Sound is decent for a flat panel. Like all IPS panels, solid wide viewing angles. Low lag for games. Generous support for four different HDR standards (Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, Technicolor Advanced HDR).
The bad: Weak contrast compared to a LCD with a VA panel. Local dimming is ineffective and can be distracting--definitely don't set it to high unless you like columns of light on your screen, but medium seems to do okay. In a dim to dark room, blacks look grayish. HDR peak brightness is so-so, with some ability to brighten small highlights appreciably.
Bottom line: It's a great TV so long as you know the limitations. IPS LCD panels are good for wide angle viewing areas (because VA LCD panels don't do nearly as well with angles) and decently lit rooms (lighting minimizes the impact of the limited contrast and black levels). I bought this for just such a room and thus I am happy with it, especially given the stellar smart platform. I would not recommend it for sitting directly across or for a dark room, such as a home theater. In that case, it will disappoint, despite the very attractive and expansive features list. However, it would excel in a well-lit living room, a sunroom, or a bedroom, or anywhere with off axis seating.
(Note that the 49" is only 60Hz, but will interpolate 30fps and can do 24fps.)

Very simple to set up, love the right angle connectors on both ends of the power lead. The LG smart remote is excellent, simple to use but has all the functionality you’ll need. Picture is outstanding, good colour and depth and great for fast moving action...no artifacts that I could detect. Very pleased.

I've enjoyed every moment with this TV since I got it, the speed and ease of use of the interface is amazing. The image quality even with non-4K content is amazing! Must be an excellent upscaller in the system. It's really great for gaming too, I don't notice any ghosting or input lag that I can perceive, and the HDR from the few PS4 games that support it really makes the games pop! Sound quality from such a thin TV is great too, I don't have a soundbar yet but so far it's acceptable audio quality. Not "tinny" sounding as some TVs can get. It's very stylish too, I like the curved base stand and the all-aluminum backing of the TV.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my decision to go with this model. It's a "mid-range" model but I can't imagine how much better "higher end" models can be, as this has everything I would ever really need from a 4K HDR TV!

My last TV died on me, it was a 2 year old LG and I had the protection plan on it. Unfortunately Geek Squad wasn't able to repair it so they gave me store credit for the amount I bought the last one, and I chose to get a newer upgraded model with it. This tv is fantastic! I love the picture and sound quality, as to be expected from the mid-range LG's. But what I love most is that my settings stay for each HDMI channel. For instance, on my Roku I prefer to use the Vibrant picture quality setting, and for my PS4 I use the HDR setting. When I switch back and forth between the two, the picture quality automatically changes to the setting I had chosen for that HDMI channel.
The smart remote features are easy to learn - it tracks your movement to allow for easy and quick selections, plus it has programmable buttons for Netflix/Hulu, etc. Did I mention it also is weighted to more comfortably fit in your hand? That's not something I *need* but it was surprisingly appreciated by everyone in my house. We also love the scrolling wheel for selecting channels.
Setup was quick and easy; ours is on a TV stand and I've found the base to be very secure when properly assembled. I did read a few reviews here saying that the tv wobbled - I figured out that I had put the wrong screws into the wrong spot, swapped them, and it stayed firmly in place then. Odds are the other reviewers had that same issue but did not think to change the screws since the instructions are not super clear on which set of screws goes where.
Overall, excellent purchase, we love it!

I've had many TV's over the years and this one goes above and beyond my expectations in a smart TV. You can control the functionality of it with any IOS/Android phone via the LG application, it uses WebOS which allows you to download tons of applications and content from the LG store so that I rarely even use my Apple TV connected to it anymore since everything I watch is built-in (i.e Netflix, Amazon Prime Videos, Spotify, etc.) The picture quality is absolutely amazing and the remote and user interface is super simple and easy to use. I love this TV!!!

It was finally time to upgrade to a larger TV. Looked online at the selections offered at the local Best Buy store. With notes on a few choices in mind I headed to the store. That all changed when I saw the the LG Smart TV. I was blown away by what I saw. While it was a bit more than what I wanted to pay, I couldn't pass it up. And now that I have had it for a few weeks I am extremely happy with the quality of picture I am seeing. Even the sound is great, given that audio quality is decreasing as the TVs get thinner. This LG offers a lot and delivers. I am not one who desires digital assistance, so I am ignoring this feature. A priority for me was 3 HDMI ports and this set happily has four. Setup of the TV's audio and picture was a breeze, actually took longer to assemble the stand. The remote is nice with a lot of features, however, some of the features can be annoying. Overall it is a great choice.

I purchased this TV in September 2018 and it's the best TV ever. Awesome picture, so many apps to choose from, ample HDMI ports, magic remote with Google voice and mouse type cursor make use so simple and convenient. I love this TV!

Picture was great and it was easy to get the initial setup working but some of the digital assistant features weren't clear how to use or very useful so I am not even using them since the only work with Google Assistant or Alexa. If you are using Spectrum, you can't seem to use the LG remote to access all the channels. Biggest frustration was that the mounting brackets take metric screws to fit in to the tv and my existing bracket used imperial (like 1/4") screws. So before I could mount the tv, I had to run to Lowes and get the right screws. Why wouldn't they include the screws with the TV for $650? Also, make sure you connect the HDMI cable before mounting it because they are hard to reach once the tv bracket is on the wall.

I bought my husband a very nice Samsung Smart TV for Christmas. We have an LG TV in our family room and we love it. But my husband does so much for us, I wanted to be sure to get him the best TV out there. I read reviews for weeks before deciding to get him that Samsung. It wasn't user friendly and he didn't really like it, I could tell. So, I ended up taking it back and getting him this LG Super UHD TV AI Thin Q Smart TV. He LOVES it! It's so much easier to navigate and the picture is really clean. Sound is great! Set up was a breeze. I highly recommend this beautiful LG TV. I even got one for my 2nd room. :)

Ow. My 14 yr old Sharp 1080P green screened out on me for the Super Bowl, so my guests and I schlepped to another's home. 3 weeks later, I needed a replacement, immediately for the Oscar Party. Wanting a better product without going for the top, the salesman took me to this 4K tv--and I loved the quality in Vivid mode!
To boot, there was an opened product on the floor, so I got the sale price plus a discount for an opened box. The super neat and qualified installer came 2 days before the Oscars to install over the fireplace and setup. So wonderful to finally have a 'smart tv.' I lOVE LOVE LOVE this tv; wondering if I should get a soundbar, even though there's surround sound for dvd's in my unit.

Picture has excellent color, contrast and definition, however it is not as bright as others. Controls mesh well with my existing sound systems, including direct access via smart systems. Sound is good for small speakers, but appreciate the sound bar enhancement.

I was debating between Samsung or LG. I have two sony 55”s in other rooms so I wanted to upgrade. I decided to go with this one and let me tell you it’s amazing. I picked up the last one on Black Friday. The picture quality is amazing out of the box. They have it set on energy saver but if you want really good quality pictures change it. Amazing tv and I’m happy!

Bought on sale at Best Buy on recommendation of salesman who claimed it was the best tv Best Buy sells under $1000. It replaces my Samsung smart tv that I thought had a great picture. The LG has a better picture and more ways to control the picture quality than most people would every need. My only complaint is the audio out is limited to digital optical cable or HDMI ARC. No headphone jack or RCA cable output. I have an older Panasonic home theater system that won’t accept HDMI or optical digital cables. It is a 5.1 system that is great so I did not want to replace it. To get the home theater connected to the tv I had to buy a digital optical to RCA converter and a digital optical cable. I did not expect to have to make the additional purchase to get my sound to work and specifically asked the Best Buy salesman if the LG tv was compatible with my theater system after telling him what my inputs/outputs were on the theater system. Salesman told me yes I could hook my theater system to the tv. I did not find out until I was home and setting the tv up that it would not work with my Panasonic home theater unless I bought the optical to RCA converter. Long story short...I am glad I bought this tv.
