My wife and I were replacing a washer and dryer from 15 years of service and after some browsing at the big box stores and Best Buy we decided to go for these at Best Buy ( we have owned them for 3 months now). The first thing we noticed was how big the drum is! What would take 3 loads of towels now only take 1! We used probably about 50% less detergent (be sure to use liquid HE soap) and our clothes are cleaner than they have ever been!! Keep in mind there is no agitator and it works better!!! It's also very quiet (not silent) but we can leave the laundry room door open and forget it's running! There are a ton of cycles although we use "normal", "bedding" mostly and also "towels" as noted before. One thing to consider is the companion app for ISO is not compatible yet...I asked LG about that and they said they are working on it...We'll see. Not sure what the app would tell me but I like data so water usage ect would be nice to know. Also it uses a lot less water... the water barely covers the clothes which freaked us out a bit. It has a water plus mode which adds more water but we let it do its thing without that feature on and as I said before the clothes have never been cleaner! Overall we are super happy with the washer and the matching dryer. I just hope it holds up with all the tech inside it. It should also be noted that Consumer Reports gave it a great review! We did not know that at the time of the purchase and saw it later on LG's website. I Highly recommend!

This LG washing machine is the best washer I've ever owned! It the only truely quiet new washing machine I've owned. Because of some other circumstances, I am having to have my wash closet remodeled, so the washer is on an uneven floor where the geek squad delivered the machine due to the remodeling, and this machine levels it's self doesn't clang or make a loud noise when in the spin mode! My clothes are clean, and the machine is fast. The machine is able to determine how much time is needed to clean the clothes based on the cycle chosen and how big the load is. I love the big variety of cycles to choose from as well!

I had a Kenmore washer and Dryer for almost 10yrs and it was repaired the whole time ... So I decided to do my research and look at some reviews on washers and dryers in Consumer Reports and Best Buy ... So I bought The LG top loading washer and Dryer and I have to say it was the Best Choice that I've made .... I Love both my washer and dryer .... Best Buy , LG, and Consumer Reports You Are the Best !!!!!!!!!

I am very impressed with this washing machine! What used to be a very full load in my old front load lg washer is what I would consider a comfortable (normal) load in this one. I love that I have so many setting options. From bedding to delicates, this washer gets it clean. I was concerned that the tub would be too deep for me to comfortably reach the bottom (I am 5’4”) but it’s not bad at all. I do have to go on my tip toes to get socks off of the bottom, but larger items are easy to reach. I am very glad that I made this purchase

Purchased on 9/16. we are a 3 person family for normal laundry use. last week noticed clothes and towels were not getting clean and an odd noise. I am handy with tools and looking up tech info and the following is what i have discovered. These models have a agitating disc at bottom of washer as you look into it, pictures of ours are attached, this disc has plastic female splines that a steel metal shaft with male threads connects to. over time the plastic wears down and strips out as mine has, also there is a plastic washer rotor hub underneath that is a plastic gear driven set up that will fail, as it connects to the bottom part of same steel shaft. These are engineered failures that will happen to every machine that was sold like this. We have been very happy with this unit however the old saying goes they don't build them like they used too and looking on LG site here the part is not available, so going to have to try and find aftermarket replacement. I am going to recommend this product with the disclaimer that i am not sure you can find any machine that will last much longer the way the industry is building them across the board.

Love this huge washer and all the settings. It isn't as quiet as I'd hoped, but, at least it doesn't explode! We chose this set in exchange for our recalled Samsung.

This washer is well worth the extra money you will pay for it. This is the only washer that had almost perfect reviews and I can see why. The washer is solid, operates smoothly and is very quiet. It knows exactly how much water to use, less than half of my old washer, and does an excellent job cleaning clothes. It spins very fast draining most of the water out of the clothes making drying fast and efficient. The price of the washer and matching dryer was more expensive than the other competative models and more than I wanted to spend but after reading the reviews of the other HE washers, I am very glad I made this purchase. I would also add that Best Buy's delivery service is the best. Having dealt with Lowes in the past, there are no words to describe how bad Lowes delivery service is, terrible would be a compliment to them, Best Buy is GREAT!

    Washing Machine

My washing Machine was delivered today. I’ve gotten to run 2 loads. The second one is in the washer. The first one was my “test load” I washed the dirtiest thing in the house, my husbands work uniforms. They are the reason I bought this machine. We had a regular old washer with the center agitator. My husband works in a factory and his clothes always has oil and grease all over them, they never feel clean or even smell clean even with fabric softener and stain remover. So, I had been looking to upgrade our set, something that would clean clothes better; I liked the idea of steam cleaning and something big enough to hold bedding and came across this set. I put his clothes in and the no longer feel just as dirty as before they were washed, they also hold the smell of fabric softener now. There is one flaw to this purchase and it has nothing to do with the machine. I had it delivered and installed. I read the book online before it arrived because several of the reviews said you would have problems if you didn’t read it, like it was an alien spaceship you were trying to operate instead of a washing machine. I read that for your first test cycle it was a couple of buttons you would have to push and the cycle would last 5-10 minutes and several reviewers said the delivery guys would level your machine so it didn’t shake and make a lot of noise. If you live in the Clarksville TN area you will get these delivery men, they did not level my machine, I thought maybe some my floor wasn’t slanted it was fine but it shakes and makes a ton of noise. And they did not do the correct test cycle, they did tub clean which is a 3 hr cycle and left. Also it was around 10* and one of them thought it would be a good idea to peel frozen stickers off. He’s lucky the sticker wouldn’t come off and it didn’t chip any of the paint because I would have had it sent back for a replacement. The machine is wonderful from everything I have used so far. It has a ton of room, everything gets clean (some people are also complaining that not all of their clothes get wet and they have to use water plus but you don’t) If anything changes I’ll update this review. If you are thinking about buying this machine, do it.

This is my first LG washer. Having had below average luck with my GE washers in the past, I had high hopes for this washer based on many reviews I read. For the most part, this washer has not let me down. The good: I do approximately three loads of laundry a day and my clothes have never been cleaner. Truly, all stains have come out of my kids’ clothes like never before. Also, this washer has a HUGE tub with a small footprint. It is several inches smaller than the footprint of my previous GE washer that incorporated a smaller tub. Keep in mind you need about a tablespoon of HE detergent for this washer, especially if you use soft water. It’s hard to put such a small amount of detergent in a huge load of dirty clothes and believe they will come clean, but somehow they do. DON’T overload the detergent. The washer was specifically designed to use less. As to the claim the wash gets done faster, not so much from my perspective. Some loads seem to take forever and I am not clear why. It appears somewhat random. Towels one day may take an hour and another day they may take two. LE does state in the instruction manual that the timing of the load will continually readjust during the cycle to accommodate the load. Smart, if it really is working that way, but it’s still kind of annoying. You can keep going back to your machine for half an hour and the display will appear stuck on ten or fifteen or twenty minutes remaining - that’s what it is designed to do if the washer senses the clothes need more time. Except why would towels used in a normal fashion take such wildly different times to run through the cycle depending on the day? Not a dealbreaker for me, but something to consider if you are counting on doing a fast load before work or bed and need the cycle time to be more accurate from the start. The only truly negative for me involves the detergent/fabric softener tray. The tray is filled up almost every wash with water and needs to be emptied out. Either the fabric softener side is filled up or the detergent side is filled up. I phoned LG and they indicated a few droplets of water was normal. I have about a cup of water EACH load and they weren’t much help with trying to resolve that issue. I see removing this tray to dump it each time a bit of unnecessary wear and tear on the machine and somewhat of a hassle. All that being said, I would buy the machine again just because it does an incredible job of what it is supposed to do - clean the clothes I put in it. It also has a true steam function should you desire it and a cool “waterproof fabric” setting which I love for our waterproof rain and winter gear.

After waiting over 30 days for my item to be delivered it finally arrived. Delivery was fast and efficient as usual. I purchased this washer because the Samsung I bought a few months ago was recalled. I've used it several times already and so far it is great. I didn't think my Samsung was loud but this one is so quiet I wasn't sure it was on. It spins incredible fast and everything comes out clean and smelling great. I've ran several different types of cycles and I haven't had any issues with the detergent packs not melting all the way either which is great. Also the capacity is huge and I can still get everything out of it!! I'm 5'6" and I couldn't reach the bottom of my Samsung but I can easily reach the bottom of this one. Overall I am very happy with my purchase!

My husband and I went to the store to purchase a matching set of washer and dryer because they are visible in our mudroom. We had size constraints due to the location and we needed a side venting dryer. We had limited brands and styles to choose from because of our required specs. This machine tub is huge! If you have short arms you will find yourself on your toes to reach in as I have to do, but it is wonderful to wash comforters and bulky items without any problems and everything gets clean! Take note of the loading directions to keep your machine balanced and working at its peak performance. We were amazed at how quiet it is and it determines how much water is needed based on the load! After using this washer for a few weeks now, I gave it a 5 star rating because it meets and exceeds our expectations.

We needed to replace our moldy, battering front-loading LG that came with our house. I checked everywhere for reviews -- Consumer Reports first and foremost, and lots of sites like Best Buy and other user reviews. Consumer reports was the most important to me because they actually buy and test the machine over the long haul. I visited stores and hemmed and hawed among the top Samsung and LG options. In the end, we chose this machine and absolutely love it. It does everything it's supposed to do, without being bloated and weird looking. Our clothes are clean but not battered, the machine is very quiet, and the capacity is huge. We washed all of our bedding in the first weekend, lol. I highly recommend this machine and the matching dryer.

After owning a brand new whirlpool and only owning it 4 years, I had to have the same part replaced three times. Too much chaos and I decided to check the LG out after one of the store employees recommended it. The price was reasonable. This washing machine has so many features yet it is so easy to operate. It's huge and you can wash everything from socks to bedding and even dog beds in it. It's super quiet and when the load is done it plays a neat melody. If your going to buy this washer be sure to do it at Best Buy and purchase the extended warranty through them. You can't find a better deal!

Really like this washer a lot. I cannot believe how huge the tub is. I'm tall so I have no problem reaching things on the bottom but I can see where someone smaller may have a problem or need a stool. My old washer still had the agitator and I could never wash big blankets or quilts so this is a god sent. I love that it senses the size of the load and adjusts the water level itself. I can't wait to wash large items that I couldn't before. I'm very happy with this washer and the clothes come out smelling really clean.

I purchased this washer with the companion dryer. To me it is quiet and does a satisfactory job cleaning clothes. The tub is HUGE and can handle a phenomenal amount of laundry at once. I don't suggest overloading it since it is a HE machine with no agitator but you can if you want. I fill it reasonably high, it auto detects levels and does its thing. My wife, my daughter and I am very pleased with this washer thus far. I did purchase the Geek Squad protection because with 8 people in the house, it gets used a lot and they don't seem to build the new machines to last like the old ones. That said no issues thus far.

I am so pleased with this washer from LG I was between this unit and the Samsung active wash with the tub in it I am so happy I decided to go with LG. The last saying I want to do once my laundry is washed is separating all of my clothes having to shake them out and put them in the dryer which was the main complaint everybody said about a washing machine with no agitator I have never had to reorganize my washer or the clothes that are in the dryer it has a self Wayne and self adjusting tub which is amazing so you do not have to worry about layering the clothes or how you put them in the tub. I had a older previous unit with an agitator this LG with no agitator makes me not miss it one bit. If you're looking for a washing machine that you can set walk away and not worry about your clothes being ruined this is the set for you LG has definitely outdone themselves with this one. There is one downside to this unit if you get a top load washing machine and you are a person that is under the size of 5' 5" it is rather tricky and reaching small items at the bottom of the tub I am 5-2 and have a particularly hard time picking up the little socks that get at the very bottom of the tub. However I have a step stool that if absolutely necessary I can use. This issue did not affect my review or my usage of this washer I still give it a five stars I still would recommend it to a friend I would still Rave about it it's just if you choose to buy it and you're shorter I just wanted you to be aware of the only issue a short person has found

Have had this LG washer for 2 months and am very impressed with its performance. Waited to write this review until I had gained experience with most of this washer's features. Works great! This top loader was just what I was looking for. It's quiet, has a high capacity that handles large loads easily, is more gentle but cleans better than any of the other washers I've owned over the years. The steam cycle helps lift stains. The stainless steel tub looks as clean and shiny as the day it was delivered - no stains, scratches, soap scum ring, or bad smells.

I was looking for a quiet washer and also needed one that would fit in my narrow laundry closet but I wanted a good washer and most smaller size ones did not have good reviews. This one is awesome I love it plenty of space for quits, quiet and seems to wash well so far. A pleasant little chime when your wash is complete. I'm going to get the dryer next for sure! Delivery people were so careful and professional and they even went over how to use it.

This machine has a great large capacity, is Green in terms of water use and energy efficiency, and still gets the clothes very clean! There are outstanding extra features that other machines in same class didn't have, runs quietly, has SMART technology, and can hold a Cal King comforter. Switching from front load and dealing with the extra cleaning that has to be done monthly to this top load is the best choice I've made in awhile!
