Best TV on the market especially for gaming, all Sony’s tv’s as of writing this don’t have HDMI 2.1 besides X900H which is a older model and is a generation back.

Incorrect stand sent with my 55" LG CX

I unboxed my 55" LG CX today to find out that the included stand does not line up with the screws on the back of the tv. I contacted LG and apparently a batch of TV's were sent out with the wrong stands. Now I have to wait 10 business days for a replacement stand that actually fits the tv.
Not a great look from a QC point of view. I've never had this issue with a Samsung or Sony product in the past. Now the tv will have to sit flat while I wait for the correct stand that was originally supposed to be included with the television.

So the TV is amazing, however - this is getting 2 stars because of the fact that not even 3 weeks into owning this T.V. and maybe watching it a couple hours a day on average throughout that time - I had this vertical thin line appear on the right hand side of the television. No damage, no movement, no nothing - just sitting up there on the mount as usual and this thin line appears out of no where and doesn't go away. Probably should have went with Sony...

Screen burn in and screen flickering after 14 days of use. This will be the second and final LG CX I’ve returned. I’m getting burn in from the LG home menu popup, 4:3 and 16:9 content with moderate use and default ant-burn in settings. I also experienced screen flickering when in game mode on PC and PS5. Not worth the price for such a fragile technology (OLED).

Yes you gamers this is a gaming monitor in a giant size!! The black is actually black no loght spill white haze you’ll see around letters
I have used multiple smaller 27 gaming monitor like lg uk650 and samsungs and this is on par or better for a hdr10 4k playing off of xbox one x or ps4 pro this will have every single check mark checked!!
Also supports 120hz in a 1440 resolution so yes this screen is fastttg!
I recommend also extra for me and i really like how the controller you can point on the screen to access the in tv apps netflix youtube etc etc its kinda like a computer mouse but with the controller
Only thing off when we watch movies on it the sound is good/ great EXCEPT THE BASS or lows i know tv speakers but when you have it past 50% volume and lets say you watch a war movie the lows or the bass parts “helicopter over head flying per say” it get RASPY speakers cannot handle low
I use headset for xbox so no issues there
Oh i forgot to mention on top of fast graphics also has built ATMOS video and sound thats YES is compatible for xbox one x !!!
Truly amazed i am a sony fan for big tv’s i have a 75” in loving room love them... but since i game more then anything this tv blows my sony out of the water night and day Differenxe and my sony is not old at all
Highly recommend for gaming
If solely for movies or tv add a sound bar and sub
But movies look amazing too only audio is not the best on the lows/ bass parts will get raspy past 50%

Never buying LG again.

This is the first time I purchased an LG tv. After 18 months our perfect tv is done. Picture attached. These lines started happening at turn on, tv would turn itself off. After a few times of turning it back on the lines would go away. This became worse and worse. It's outside the 12 month warranty, so after calling LG support and having them reset the tv they gave me a number for the only LG repair in our area. I've been told it's not worth the expense to fix because that would be more than a new TV. Never buying an LG again. 18 months is too soon for a tv to die. It's a faulty panel that is LG's fault and I should not have to buy a new tv when I paid 1400 for this one less than 2 years ago.

Wow.
From the first time I turned on the TV to now (about a week of ownership) I am beyond blown away. I came from a Samsung 55" UHD LED TV that I purchased for about $400 and I decided to make the financial leap into this TV and the best comparison I can give it is that it's like going from 1080p to 4K all over again. It's phenomenal. The blacks and dark colors are pure and you truly have to see it to believe it. The color accuracy is fantastic too and I've never seen images look better or smoother.
My primary use is gaming. I was hesitant on an OLED due to some static in game HUDs and UI elements that could burn in but the TV comes with an arsenal of options and settings to prevent that from happening. Plus, I play about 20 different games constantly and for up to 8-15hrs give or take the day. As for gaming experience my PC is able to push into this display with ease (running with a 2080Ti) and my Xbox One X has NEVER looked better. The 120Hz is only available at 1440p which is fine for PC support and the 4K at 60Hz fits all gaming that's supported and looks amazing.
The user experience is a huge adjustment and learning curve from other TVs entirely and I'm still figuring it out. I will say the stock remote is probably the best out there with the cursor, scroll wheel, and ergonomic fit and feel.
I also noticed an immediate difference in sound as this TV supports sound with eARC and ARC and Dolby Atmos which made my speakers immediately sound like they were also updated and new. The built in speakers definitely have an impressive surround experience for what they are and that was a huge surprise.
You will not be dissapointed with this TV. Yes, I was extremely reluctant to purchase a TV nearly $2000 as I never have spent that much on a single product really ever but I have to say it was and is single handedly my best investment ever.
I don't really have any cons per say BUT there are things that I notice and will point out.
1) if you have young children then mount this TV or have it in your room where it's not accessible as it's thinner than your phone, thinner than a pencil even.
2) it does NOT get super bright meaning this TV is a cinematic and media masterpiece meant for dimly lit and darker rooms i.e. your bedroom. While you can turn up the brightness you do see quality loss to the blacks which, once you've experienced the OLED black color handling, you'll regret.
3) make sure you purchase new, quality HDMI cables that can support the content that this TV supports as this does make a noticible difference
4) Make sure you have internet connection that supports proper HDR and 4k streaming. Not doing so will reduce the total overall media consuming experience for movies and TV.
5) Buy the protection plan

When I purchased this tv I was looking for quality over quantity. I have never spent more than $500 for a tv up until this point in my life. I wanted an OLED for years. I was able to take this chance when I saw the LG CX go on sale. I am extremely satisfied with this tv. I have many streaming platforms like Hulu, Netflix, Disney Plus, and HBO max just to name the biggest ones. Most of them support 4K Dolby vision which is what this tv provides in spades. The color is amazing and the darks are perfect. I do recommend adjusting some if the settings. I watched a video on YouTube from a channel called HDTV reviews. A former expert who gives great advice for home calibrating the inputs. The gaming aspect on this tv is amazing. 4K 120 hz looks amazing. A note of wisdom. Only the newest consoles (Xbox series X and PlayStation 5 can fully utilize the tv due to their HDMI 2.1 connection. If you have a 30 series rtx graphics card with a HDMI 2.1 cable then you can also use that. Overall, this tb is amazing and it has completely changed my view of at home viewing of movies and games.

-TLDR:
The LG CX 55" has the best Picture I have ever seen on a TV, including 8K TVs I have seen on display though that would probably be the other way around if it was 75" or larger for obvious reasons. Burn in is a concern but not super likely and BestBuy's 5 year extended warranty covers that if you can get it.
Into:
I was in the market for a new TV and happen to see this LG CX was on sale. I always marveled at the OLED picture quality when I saw them in stores so I began to research this model. After looking at the RTINGS, Linus Tech Tips & The Tech Giant reviews I was surprised on just how highly rated this TV was and immediately put in an order.
First Impressions:
While unboxing this TV I could not believe how then it was to the point I was worries it was going to break in half from the weight though I am sure that was never going to happen lol. When I first turned it on I could not believe how good the picture looked. The absolute black and rich vibrant colors looked far better than I had remembered. I was worried about the brightness levels since OLEDs can not get as bright as QLED backlit TVs but this was never a problem and I have even slightly turned down the brightness.
HDR:
I wanted to make a point to talk about HDR. HDR is not possible without local deming, Multiple individual lighting zones that light up parts of the screen while other parts can stay darker or unlit to provide amazing contrast to an image. A high end LED TV can have as many as 500 leds behind the screen to achieve this, but since each pixel of an OLED produces its own light, a 4K OLED as 8.3 million lighting zones. Now while they may not get as bright as an QLED with this TV reaching 700nits and a QLED getting over 1200nits, this HDR on this TV is a perfect HDR.
-The Good:
This has hands down the best picture I have ever seen on anything in my life. The colors look amazing, the deep true black levels bring clarity to unimaginable levels, and to my surprise the sound on this TV is actually really good with the stand also directing the sound at you. It has some of the most robust settings I have seen while not being overwhelming and the smart hub will get you by with the latest apps for the next couple years before you may need to consider a Roku or Apple TV. All 4 HDMI ports on this are 2.1 with full 10Bit, G-Sync & FreeSync compatible VRR. It has literally everything you would want from a state of the art TV to the point I honestly can not believe its price. While It's HDR of 700nits may not be as bright as the Samsung Q90T's 1200nits, it is a perfect HDR with infinite contrast ratio and per-pixel local diming providing the most accurate HDR possible.
-The Bad:
Only two things about this TV really stand out as being bad. One is the possibility of burn in. Yes all OLEDs can get burn it but is not a guarantee. OLED panels have gotten better over the years making it less common. Now if you watch CNN all day with their big banner taking up the screen then yes, after prolonged use on that it could happen, but for the average watcher that mixes up content with movies, tv and maybe games it will probably be ok. BestBuy extended warranty will cover burn it, and while adding $300 for 5 year warranty is nothing to sneeze at, for the best picture you can get, having that assurance seems worth it imo.
The 2nd bad thing which was kinda odd is the Ethernet port. I ran some speed tests plugged in via ethernet and noticed that I was only getting at max 55Mbps down when I expected to be closer to 90Mbps with what I assumed is probably 10/100 ethernet. Now this is more than enough to play UHD 4K content from any of the online streaming services, but if you use Plex where local 4K playback can be as high as 77Mbps it could be a problem. Luckily this TV's WiFi more than makes up for its poor ethernet implementation and I was able to get 155Mbps on 5Ghz WiFi letting that 77Mbps Plex 4K video playback with out a single issue for 3 hours.
Conclusion:
Honestly I can't recommend this TV enough and unless you intend to play static imagines on this TV it's the best TV you can get. I had ordered a Samsung Q80T and was very disappointed with it. I returned it for this TV and it was apparent the moment it powered on that the extra $150 was worth every penny. It has me rewatching all my favorite moves and feels like I have never seen them correctly before now. 10/10 display

Can't beat OLED for picture quality

Coming from an 8-yr-old Samsung plasma, which was still working just fine. But the picture quality on this OLED TV is jaw-dropping. Been watching 4K HDR (high dynamic range) videos non-stop for a few days now -- incredible contrast, detail, color, and clarity. Black is really deep black. Also been noticing more fine shades of color with regular HD upscaled content too. Panel is so thin it's almost scary -- thinner than my cell phone. Tons of picture quality settings... be prepared to spend some time tweaking things to your liking. This LG TV supports 4K HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG-HDR, but not HDR10+. A small window momentarily indicates when it detects that format.
Also has a built-in web browser, Google Assistant, and Alexa. Most of the common apps (Tablo, YouTube, Sling, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, Apple TV, etc.) are downloadable from the built-in LG Content store. Not too much need for my Roku box now. Remote control has a on-screen mouse pointer mode, which is somewhat useful but takes a while to get used to. (Don't have to use it if you prefer the 4-button navigation.) Many buttons on the remote have a 2nd function when long-pressed. Voice input is also on the remote.
Haven't tried gaming on it yet, but it looks to be very well-prepared for my upcoming PS5 purchase this winter.
Haven't really used the on-board speakers much (still using optical cable to an older Yamaha receiver and 5.1 surround sound).
Not really worried about the infamous OLED burn-in issue -- this set has automatic tools for preventing that. Just take it out of Vivid mode and lower the OLED Light setting to a reasonable level (about 30 to 40 ) on non-HDR picture modes. Screen saver kicks in after 30 seconds of non-moving picture content. Screen is plenty bright unless the sun is shining directly on it.
Bottom line -- once you watch a few 4K HDR demo videos on this screen, you will be so hooked.
P.S. After setting on the stand/table, remove the protective film from the Back side (and of course the front!) of the panel. Easy to miss. Should help prevent any heat issues, although compared to a plasma, this TV is ice cold.
P.P.S. There is a hidden power button on the bottom edge of the panel, under the red standby light. Useful to reset the TV if it locks up when switching HDMI settings or cables, or if you lose the remote.
P.P.P.S. Watch a Youtube video for constructing the stand. The directions suck, and it's not obvious how the front and back pieces interlock together. Easy, but not obvious at first.

This was an upgrade from a Samsung UN55JS8500 55" 2015 3D SUHD (original term for QLED) 4K model whose HDR capacity was lacking. The deep blacks of the this OLED pared with the expanse of colours HDR provides is just wonderful. I never understood why the deep blacks of OLED were stressed in all the reviews. It's the contrast. Such beautiful colour against such a deep perfect black background really pops in a way that QLED simply can't match.
I surfed around and recalibrated the TV based on settings found on RTINGS.com and played around with picture presets, it greatly improved my experience. Just a note. I'm tech savvy, it's not exactly straightforward learning how to work the interface and make the changes you might desire for a perfect picture, but if you are up for the challenge or have a friend or family member who can help you, it's well worth the effort.
If you enjoy gaming, it has both Freesync and G-Sync support and up to 120 FPS via HDMI 2.1 (up from 60 with HDMI 2.0). I'm looking forward to testing that further once I upgrade from an RTX 2070 to a new RTX 3080 with it's HDMI 2.1 interface.
With just the RTX 2070 I'm getting over 30 FPS with Ultra setting playing RDR 2 in 4K. Very pleased!
This TV is the first tech toy I've purchased in a long while that has exceeded my expectations.

I got a PS5 and all of a sudden my Sony Bravia x900f didn't seem so shiny any longer. No 120hz, no HDMI 2.1, no OLED. My phone could see that I was sad and started spamming me with adds for this TV. It was on sale and I just had to have it - wife gave me the go ahead, so I bought it that day. Best. Decision. Ever. It looks amazing! The blacks are SOOO black, it seems like the TV is off at times. The 120hz is buttery smooth with my PS5 and my PC 2070super Nvidia GPU. The "instant game response" works amazingly and auto HDR makes every capable source just work seamlessly without fiddling. If you game a lot with a current gen console, quality gaming computer, or watch Dolby Vision/4k content often - this is a one stop solution. I purchased a wirelessly mouse/keyboard and have set myself up nicely directly in front of this beauty in a nice comfy recliner. No more sitting up at my PC desk - my 155hz 1440p gaming monitor is completely retired because of this TV. Buy it or it's predecessor, the C1.

I’ve had this tv for nearly a year now and it’s honestly the best purchase I’ve ever made, it took me a while to save up for it but I’m glad I waited Bc it supports 4K/120hz so it’s ideal for the next Gen of consoles. Dolby Vision really makes watching 4K movies on my Apple TV pop and it’s just extremely well built. 10/10 I would most definitely recommend this or the newer models to anyone searching for the best tv experience for gaming, streaming, and entertainment. For me (I have a dimly light at most times room which can get pretty bright early in the day) this tv is perfectly bright, and the blacks are nice and inky, no more faded grays or Haloing. The built in speakers are pretty good when listening to regular sound, but I already previously owned a soundbar so I don’t really use the ones built in; the addition of Dolby atmos does at times sound better than my 2.1 channel soundbar and can be pretty room filling.

Bought it for my PS5...if 8,300,000 self lit pixels aren't enough to impress you...I will try my best to sell this AWESOME TV to you.
4K 120 hz (aka frames per second) will give you buttery smooth action no matter what kind of game you like to play...sports to action to what have you...just GORGEOUS! Then, HDR! And Ray Tracing (aka RTX)...just imagine the computation PS5 is doing and showing...ORGANIC is way to go...everything from sun to water to mud...just so gorgeous!
Because of 8.3M individual pixels that are literally turn itself off, the black is true black...as in void of anything on the screen...black...
Just spend extra few $ and get this for your PS5...just do it...
Sound...OK...I have a 2.1 soundbar ready to go...brand new in the box...but the sound from the TV itself is so good, I have yet to connect the soundbar. Sure, soundbar will be better but imagine saving $100 to $200 to $500 by skipping the soundbar and putting it towards this TV!
BUY THIS TODAY!

This is, without a doubt, the most gorgeous TV I have ever seen.
Incredible picture, perfectly dark blacks, so many options to fine tune picture quality.
Remote is intuitive, voice controls work well, and there are so many apps and functions built in, I hardly use my computer anymore.
I bought this to use as a computer monitor for my gaming setup, but my wireless keyboard and mouse (Logitech) works flawlessly with it.
I still use my computer if I want to play games (the 120hz and Gsync are amazing and worked with minimal setup) but when it's time to watch movies or TV, I just use the built in apps.
I love how well it auto detects the content k watching. If I choose a movie on Disney Plus that has Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, the TV sets all the settings to Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound automatically.
If you're looking for a new TV, or are interested in this one after hearing all the hype and good reviews, don't hesitate. Just buy it. I guarantee that you won't regret it.
