Replaced a 55" Samsung KS8000F Although it was a 7 year old TV it held its own. Reliable and pictures were vibrant. There was a dark line from the top down on the right side of the TV that was starting to annoy me. So was looking for a replacement. Watched many reviews on TVs. Started with the Samsung s90d. LG c4 and eventually started to look at the G4 and S95d. I was highly leaning towards the S95d and made a last moment decision on the G4 because I wasn't sure if going "matte" was the right move. And after setting up the TV with the wires tucked nearly in the back. I turned it on. And wasn't impressed at first. But the more I watched it, the more I started to appreciate it and enjoy. The visuals pop when the right content is on. The sound coming out has more bass and clarity compared to the Samsung. I'm watching from about 7-8 feet out. There isn't really much to not like about this tv. I think if you're spending under 2k this should be on your list.

I use this tv in a bedroom with primarily a gaming pc and ps5 aswell as play 4k blu rays through a UB820. I used to tinker alot with older tvs we had to find a picture i liked, but jeez this one is just incredible. Cinema Home for Dolby Vision is insane, when we first hooked it up i kept skimming through some 4k blu rays to see how much of a difference it was with the old tv...Never going back from OLED. LOVE IT !

I recently purchased a 55-inch OLED TV, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! The picture quality is absolutely stunning, with vibrant colors and deep blacks that bring every show and movie to life. Whether I'm watching action-packed films or enjoying a cozy series, the clarity and detail are truly exceptional. The smart features make it easy to navigate my favorite streaming services. Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch quality!

The LG G4 is absolutely amazing. Excellent picture quality, and the sound is actually nice as well. It’s a shame the price dropped $200 just a few days after the return window, so as to not get a price match.

The LG G4 is a pretty great TV if you get lucky with the Uniformity. Unfortunately, I received a unit with sever green tint/vignetting which was clearly visible when watching normal content. This is not the same as banding which can be fixed with time and compensation cycles. This experience has made me consider the competing Somy or Samsung QD-OLEDs, but LG still has its advantages. I think that LG has the most flexible image settings and you can really push the brightness hard on this TV if you need to. Hopefully my exchange model will be better, but this has certainly been disappointing considering the price.

Great TV!! Nice power saving settings if needed. The free LG channels are great and don't sensor all sorts of stuff like the free Samsung channels did. Love the different settings that for the most part it automatically changes to based on what you're watching (video and sound).

    Poor Open Box Experience

When you buy an Open Box product listed as "Excellent," you expect it to be "Like New." Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case with this TV. Minor Issue The stand was included, but only 4 of the 12 screws needed to mount it were provided. While I managed to temporarily fix this by borrowing screws from another TV (luckily the same size), it was frustrating that all the hardware wasn’t included. Major Issue The screen was significantly damaged. There’s a long line of spots at the bottom, which I initially thought were smudges but turned out to be damage—likely to a protective coating, possibly anti-glare. To make matters worse, the screen wasn’t protected in the box. The Styrofoam was in direct contact with the screen, which showed how little care was taken in repacking the TV. While I can’t say this caused the damage, it certainly doesn’t inspire confidence in Best Buy’s handling practices. Conclusion I purchased this online, and it was already boxed when I picked it up, so I didn’t inspect it before leaving. I took Best Buy at their word that it was in "Excellent" condition. Honestly, I might not have noticed the screen issue in-store anyway, as it’s only visible when the TV is off and viewed from just the right angle. For the price, I could overlook the missing screws, but the screen issue makes it clear this TV should never have been listed as "Excellent" condition. This experience has turned me off from ever buying Open Box again. I had to drive 25 miles to pick it up, wasting time and effort all to save a few bucks.

I'd like to say the image is actually pretty great. Colors are more vibrant than any other LG OLED I've ever owned and the brightness is impressive. However, the green tint on the left and right of the screen is just unacceptable at this price point. LG have some major QA issues that they need to address. This is the second LG G4 I've purchased and they both have the same issue. It's really a shame because that is the only thing holding this TV back from being perfect. Do better, LG.

I am 100% sure that anyone will be happy with this TV and that's why I feel like it deserves 5 stars. I was choosing between Sony A95L, Samsung S95D and this LG G4 that are all competitors in OLED TV space. I am pretty sure that I would have been happy with any of them but this one stole the show since (after long research) I decided to get it. This is my experience with this TV. Things that I liked immediately: 1) It is incredibly bright w/o losing picture quality. I always wanted an OLED TV but was concerned about OLED panels generally speaking lacking in brightness. This TV is a game changer. It can get extremely bright, even too bright if you want it too. Easily competes with brightness levels of other panel technologies. 2) Contrast and blacks are amazing. This TV is popping in color. Blacks are true blacks. If the picture is black, you can't tell if TV is on or off. Same picture quality from any viewing angle. 3) Works amazingly well with my existing set up that consists of Sony AV Receiver Surround Sound System and a universal Sofabaton U2 remote. 4) HDR on this TV is bonkers. As soon as you hook it up to Apple TV and PS5 (and others I assume), they detect that this TV supports HDR and prompt you to set HDR up which takes less a minute. It feels like it was made for HDR consumption and it works without any hiccups with my PS5 and Apple TV. 5) 4k 120hz HDR mode works great with my PS5 and PC. Picture is buttery smooth without losing brightness at 120HZ with Variable Refresh Rate. TV automatically detects PS5 and PC and puts them in Gaming picture mode that you can customize to your preference. 6) Non HDR content (SDR) looks incredible as well. This TV also does a remarkable job at scaling down non 4k content and it actually makes it look good. Other pros that I want to mention: 1) Easy to set up and Easy to navigate TV menu 2) Looks great on the included stand. 3) Included remote feels good to use. (I prefer using my own universal remote due to the amount of devices I have connected) 4) Every single input can have it's own picture mode selected and customized, and the TV will remember them even if something like power outage occurs. 5) Automatically connects to the last input used last time without having to change it every time when TV is turned on. (Gotta set it up in settings) 6) Amazing for Console and PC gaming. I bought a high end OLED Alienware AW2725DF monitor (returned) and it just was not bright enough at all and based on the charts I saw, all gaming OLED monitor brightness right now just plain sucks. I don't understand why since TVs are so good now at that. 7) UI is responsive enough and was not giving me any issues so far. 8) Generally speaking I have not had any lags or just unexplainable things happen to this TV. My CONS: 1) Price. This TV is not cheap and as of this review date, the entry 55" costs $2600 + tax. Personally I feel like it's well worth the price. You are paying for a premium product. 2) You HAVE to have at least 2 people to take it out of the box and put it on the desired space even for a 55in model. Important points that I cannot comment about since I don't use them: 1) Their Smart TV integrated WebOS for content consumption. After initial setup, I just abandoned it since I use Apple TV and other devices instead as my main device for content consumption. Integrated OS usually totally suck on all TVs and I ignore them all together (it can be laggy, unresponsive or lacking in features). Just get an Apple TV, Google TV stick, or Firestick. 2) TV speakers. I use my surround system and I don't ever use TV speakers since they are usually terrible on all TVs. I recommend at least a sound bar to properly hear human dialogue for anyone. Final conclusion: This TV is great for anyone.

Just what the title Says…. I have had OLED Tv’s fir the past seven years. Specifically the LG C series and i thought that model of Series was awesome but boy was i wrong……The G4 series is beyind anything i thought was possible in every way. When compared to my previous C9, the G4 blows it out of the water. Yes this is more expensive but it is worth it. Also buy the 5 year Geek squad warranty as its extra insurance and worth it as its the best warranty in the Industry as that is how i was able to get this G4…. My Previous C9 TV had the dreaded burn in issues that OLED TV's can be prone to but if your smart and putchased the Greek Squad warranty then you dont have to worry about that as Best Buy actually replaced my TV and gave me store credit to purchase a new one. YES YOUR HEARD THAT CORRECTLY. I was amazed aat how easy the process was and its nice to know that a company stands behind the warranty thst they sell. EVERYONE from start to finish was amazing and it truly was the best experience ive had with Best Buy and ive been a customer for 30 years. ALSO on a side note, i orignally got the Sony Bravia 8 for my return TV but It wasnt the same as my LG C9 when i got it home so Best Buy exchanged it for the G4 with no issues to make sure i was happy with my putchase. Long story short is if your thinking of getting this TV or are on the fence of buying a different TV then please take my advice and purchase the G4. You WILL NOT be Disappointed

A top-of-the-line LED smart TV replaced my old plasma smart TV in 2016. (The recipient of that now 18 year old plasma screen still uses it.) It was part of a system with a soundbar, a PVR with cable, a cable box, and a DVD player. But my current television had to be rebooted constantly, and I finally grew tired of this. It was most fortuitous that I could take advantage of November’s electronics sales. I drove to Best Buy, and I was soon setting up my new OLED55G4SUV. I am pleased with it, but there have been a few hitches in installing the set: lack of a robust quick set up guide, absence of the PBS app, an insufficient number of HDMI ports that are physically too close to each other, and no RGB/audi cable inputs. First off, the product does not come with a printed installation guide, a cost cutting feature adopted by most manufacturers today. LG offers an online interactive user guide on its website, but I found it cumbersome to use. There is a PDF version available, but it’s not listed on the LG product page. But you can find it by searching the web. Oddly enough, the user guide fails to provide a diagram or schematic of the inputs on the back of the set. It’s sometimes just helpful to have that rather than reading the minuscule print. There are two inputs on the left side and two inputs on the bottom. I have found the placement of the four HDMI inputs to be inconvenient. I also feel that I do not have enough HDMI ports. I used the two bottom ports to connect to my cable box and TiVo Edge. While configuring my apps, I discovered that there is no PBS Passport app for webOS. (LG devices use webOS.) This was quite a surprise and a great disappointment. Had I known this, I probably would have bought a different brand for which there is PBS Passport support. Shame on me for not verifying app support. Fortunately, I had an Amazon Fire TV Stick that I had used for AppleTV on my old LED TV. I installed this on one of the side HDMI inputs. Now this solution has two downsides. One is that the Stick protrudes beyond the edge of TV. The second is that its width makes using the remaining port difficult, if not impossible because the two ports are so close to each other. I have resolved this issue, but let’s go on to configuring the remote and then to how I used my remaining port before I discuss this issue. There’s no quick install guide to quickly speed you through setting up your set, but LG’s automated initial setup isn’t so bad. Actually, set up is probably pretty slick for a lot of people, but it’s not all so intuitive. Two configure my three HDMI inputs, I first pressed the setting button on the remote. Stymied by the icons displayed, I eventually figured out that you have to figure out that you need to select the Setting icon in the upper left hand corner to display the basic setup page itself. (Sometimes pushing the settings button on the remote will take you directly to this screen, but I haven’t figured out when.) Then select General from the displayed list of options. Then scroll down to select External Devices on the next list displayed. (I took me a while to figure out that there were more options in the list and that I had to scroll to get to them.) Then select Universal Control Settings on the next list. After selecting the input that you want to set up, a wizard makes this pretty straightforward. I eventually discovered that the best choice for my TiVo Edge was to choose box setup. Unfortunately, TiVo is not listed as a manufacturer, so you have to choose your cable provider. Typically, most of your inputs will default to a friendly name, but I now had two inputs that both displayed the name of my cable service provider: the cable box input and the TiVo input. You have to use an entirely different workflow to edit the labels. To do this, hold down the Input button on the remote for a while to display the Home Hub screen. Then select the three dots in the upper right hand corner to display a list of options. Select the Edit Inputs option and then the input to be modified. Ostensibly, I would use my remaining HDMI port to connect my DVD player. While I rarely watch CD’s anymore, save perhaps for my archives of digitized pictures, I do play music CD’s. But connecting the DVD player to the TV was a problem because my ancient player doesn’t support an HDMI cable. I had been using three RBG cables and two audio cables. The LG set doesn’t have these “archaic” ports. So, what was I to do? Drop $400 some dollars on a new premium DVD player with features that I don’t need? I settled upon ordering an RBG/audio cable to HDMI adapter. But I was going to need access to the port that was blocked by the Fire TV Stick. Plus, I wanted to hide that stick. So I also ordered a package of assorted HDMI elbows to deal with my Fire TV Stick issue. These purchases arrived the next day. It was time to test the new HDMI adapter. The HDMI cable packaged with the adapter was too short to reach the television when the adapter was connected to the surge protecter. I had a spare HDMI cable that was longer, but only if I used a bottom HDMI input, rather than the now open side HDMI input, and moved the surge protector closer to the television. That was a lot of work in tight spaces, but I attacked the dust that had accumulated over the years below my bedroom chests. The adapter performed beautifully; I was thrilled. Next I had to connect the HDMI cable that had been using the e-ARC port to the remaining side HDMI port. That input was partially covered by the Fire TV Stick. I used some HDMI elbows to resolve this. While there are some HDMI 180° elbows, I did not order one since I could verify whether their dimensions would provide enough clearance around the set’s physical features. I tried two 90° elbows to create a 180° elbow. It worked nicely. Having the Stick sit proud of the set might be a problem for wall mounting, but I was using the set’s stand. But I decided that it was better to reduce the number of elbows and chose a 90° elbow that turned the Stick downwards. This entailed moving the Stick from the top HDMI port, where I had originally installed the Stick, to the bottom input. Fortunately, the upgraded USB cable that I had purchased to enable my Stick to work on my old television had enough length to reach the USB input above the two HDMI ports. Now, the wide surface of the Stick sits parallel to the back of the set, resolving any potential wall mounting problem as well. But this configuration also prevents installation of the back cover over the wires. This is not a big deal for me, and the cover will just sit in a closet. The next discovery was that I was going to have to repeat universal remote control setup for the inputs that I had moved. No big thing, but it was still one more step for me. During this, I discovered that my Fire TV Stick remote could no longer communicate with the now invisible Stick. Fortunately, the LG universal remote does! I was now out of HDMI inputs on my television. Since the set supports Miracast, I did not need my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter that I had on my prior set. Whew. But what happens should I decide to upgrade my old Sonos Playbar? It uses an optical cable. A new Sonos soundbar requires an e-ARC/ARC HDMI input. Which device do I give up? Fortunately, I am not going to do this in the near future since I’m not sure that I really need surround sound.

I really like this TV. It's the most I've ever spent on a TV but the color, picture quality, and sound are amazing. On the sound from the TV, I purchased a sound bar thinking I would need one because of prior experiences with sound quality on flat screen TVs but I highly recommend you try the sound from the TV before you get a sound bar. I was impressed with the quality and loudness of the sound from the TV alone. I wish I hadn't spent the extra money on a sound bar. I also use this TV for gaming and the picture quality is top notch. No buyer's remorse at all.

The LG Oiled G4 is indeed a remarkable advancement in display technology, offering a noticeably brighter screen compared to its predecessor, the G3. This enhanced brightness significantly improves visibility in various lighting conditions, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. Additionally, the 140 Hz refresh rate is a game-changer for users who prioritize smooth and responsive visuals. This faster refresh rate ensures that actions on the screen are seamless and fluid, providing a superior experience for gamers, video streamers, and anyone who appreciates crisp motion in their digital content. Overall, the combination of brighter display and rapid refresh rate makes the LG Oiled G4 a desirable choice for those looking to upgrade their visual experience.

As stated for the bigger version this is the pinacle of OLED in 2024. Go find YouTube reviews if you don’t believe me. Picture processing is unbelievable and manages to bring out the picture to life with infinite contrast. Just perfect as a replacement for my 15 year old pioneer Kuro.
