Almost Qled/Oled quality at half price. Be sure to turn off the power saver to boost brightness. This tv has game speed refresh rate! Great for sports!

Clear vibrant picture with very nice sound. Remote control is simple to use, compact and is programable to the cable remote. The TV turns on imediately without delays. Even thoughit has lots of apps, it does not include Pabdora which I was misinformed by the Best Buy salesman.

I needed to upgrade my older Vizio for a 4K UHD to get the most out of my XBox One X. I also didn’t want to break the bank. After much research This LG was better priced than I could have expected and the quality and ease of use is amazing. Works great with my Xboxone X and new LG sound bar!! Plus Bestbuy is as always The best place to go!! They are Awesome!!

We upgraded from a 48” to this 55” LG smart tv. The picture is crisp and colors are so vivid, the people on the screen appear to be in the room. It is very user friendly, if you can use a computer, you can navigate anything on this television.

Great picture. Sounds great. For the right person, it talks to you in an over the top detail if needed. "Turning volume up to 33". For every detail you do, it let's you know what you are doing. My husband loves the TV and is very happy with our purchase.

This TV has colors that rival plasma TVs. A little spotty with the shading on movies but that's just because I haven't played with the adjustments yet. Like I said excellent TV for the price

I normally Do not purchase such an item without researching it, But when it came to this purchase for new 55" TV I didn't need to, I could tell standing there looking at it is the best screen and features I've ever seen on a tv.
The value of this TV is a definite 10...

I love my new tv. Setting was a task. The instructions that are on screen aren’t always the most clear. So you do one thing and you find out later that now your remote controls other things.

Price was well-discounted. If I had to pay full price I would have selected a different television, probably a different brand. The TV is ok, picture is a little dark on some settings but with a lot of experimenting and adjusting can provide a decent picture. We don't use the smart functions (yet), it's just a TV to us.

Connect to the internet. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t for absolutely no reason. Frustrating. They need to produce better software for being a leading brand. Super not impressed at all and not worth the extra I paid for the flatness and the framed art that appears when on the screen saver. A warning appears saying “no signal” over the art completely making the whole idea of it showing art work tacky and useless. Terrible! I’m so mad at myself for giving them another shot. I will never buy another LG product again.

Overall we are quite happy with this 55" 4k tv. Plenty of setup and adjustment options. BUT take care because HDR can over drive the color. We keep our room dim and use a rear bias light.
Bad: Very few (8?) large local dimming sections. Hard to get decent contrast in bright room.
Good: Excellent and comfortable remote included with the two top tier models. - very nice voice, pointer or button controls.
Plenty of inputs.
We use 3 of 4 HDMI inputs plus an external hard drive on USB.
Overall- we tried several other brands of mid cost ($500-600) models before choosing this one. It Would be the best non OLED or Q tv IF it had many more local dimming areas.

I was skeptical of LG, but this 4K HD TV has changed my mind. I had purchased a larger size TV, 65, a Sony, but was disappointed in the quality of HD stream and gaming HDR. I returned it, then someone explained that those screens are not native 120hz and not the best quality. So, I asked for a native 120hz screen, with comparable specs and in 4k then was showed this LG. This wasn't the best model, but affordable, and well worth the price. This unit can handle gaming in HDR, rendering gorgeous graphics, and lighting without any visual noise.
It also comes with a smart LG on board operating system, compatible with Google Assistant as well as Alexa! The magic remote is awesome, you can navigate with the remote by motion which appears on the screen with cursor.
If you're looking for a great HDTV, 120hz, HD 4k, HDR 10, and can deal with 55', and for under a 1,000? This LG is for you, absolutely.

When I first looked at this TV at full price, I saw that picture quality looked really good next to the OLED TV's. A couple of weeks later they lowered the price by a couple hundred, so I jumped on it. At home the picture looks even better, especially after I turned off the energy saving mode. Sound quality is really good as well, you dont need to buy a sound bar with this one. The smart aspect of this tv is nice too, it's really responsive and comes with voice remote that comfortable. Its packed with a lot of features, I've had it for a month and I love it.

The picture is great, although imho, you have to go to the Cinema setting and turn off that awful TruMotion to watch movies.
the menus are not as simple and straightforward as they could be, but you can control most everything that you want to. I find the "cursor" mode on the remote to be a useless and annoying addition, but you can ignore that.
The apps work well, although I prefer my Apple TV. This TV might have everything in it you need for streaming though.
Bluetooth... annoying. It starts out in sync, but every 30 minutes it gets annoyingly out of sync (with any bluetooth headphones you use) and you have to pause your movie, switch off your bluetooth device, let it switch to internal speakers, and then switch back.
The internal speakers are okay, but imho, you want a sound bar. Also, I wish it had a coax digital audio output at this price. Those are still useful for some of us.
the remote is a good, simple, but powerful design. Bravo. Too many remotes are just inscrutable.

When I was doing research before finally upgrading my 42" 2011 LG HDTV to a newer/bigger/better 55" 4K model, I was hesitant to move fast at a lot of the Best Buy sales because of all the lower-cost model claims that turned into reviewers debunking those as misled positives, but Consumer Reports led me to this model and I'm happy with the change. It wasn't LG's low-end, nor their ultimate high-end, so it's a nice sweet spot balancing budget and quality. I'm all about vivid colors, black blacks and nice contrasts, without the HD-overload that causes everything to look like a soap opera broadcast. Though this offers many more picture presets than my previous TV, I opted to really go in and manually fine tune the picture to all my inputs' best possible display arrays. It took a bit of work and figuring out, but I was able to get there once I got the gist of the settings. Even though I use an external surround sound receiver, the internal sound isn't even half-bad—I previously never trusted the tinny-sounding speakers that came with slim HDTVs, just because there wasn't any space to get decent speakers in these things. The remote is decent, and thankfully, simple, though it lacks an "Exit" button and so it took me awhile how to figure out a quick exit/quit from the apps (and I didn't see it in the manual) until realizing that it works to press and HOLD the "Back" button. The one thing that almost deterred me from this model was what appeared as a glossy silver frame and stand—I like mine to be black so that they are not distracting when watching—but the edge is actually more of a charcoal/pewter that falls away into the darkness in contrast to the screen, so that worked out OK. Ultimately, the only semi-Cons about this unit include the struggle to find good brightness/color settings for a bright room without completely blowing out the picture (I prefer to use a darker room for watching anyway), probably like anything this big, it does get window glare, and the need to be pretty much centered for watching—the picture does start to dull when you move to either side of center viewing. I haven't yet invested in the other 4K devices for testing things such as 4K blu-ray, but the 4K streaming looks great and other upscaling is surprisingly really good. Overall, a nice 4K HDTV at a midrange price.
