I'm very pleased with this television! The set up was relatively easy (I did have my tech-savvy son do the "heavy lifting " as well as the wire connections. Once that was done, it was an easy setup for the connectivity of the remote.
The picture is great (I'd had a big ol' tv from the 90s, so HD on a 55 in screen was a revelation! ) This picture is clear and the color is great. The remote is is easy to use. There are some apps not available on my cable, but I was able to download a phone app that gives me access. I am very happy with my choice!

I really love my TV. I'm so glad I made this purchase. When I went to Best Buy I was going to purchase another LG tv that I've research, after talking to the agent I decided to purchase this one. The picture quality on this tv is really good even thought I don't get to view it in 4K all this time due to my cable provider the picture is still clear and beautiful. I love the way the sound come out with my BOSE. It was well worth my money

Cons
People expecting this tv to be some type of computer monitor or compare this to the the newer more powerful oled 4k tvs if you can afford to spend 2 to 3 grand on a tv more power to you but dont knock this tv
Also alot of reviews i have read was people saying this tv color depths are weak but if you want the best picture then you will either need to get a professional to come out and calibrate your tv or take some time out and buy the THX calibrater dosc and do it your self

Purchased a samsung 4k tv for less than the lg and 10 days later the display showed signs of dying pixels on one side returned it and stumbled upon the LG for a little bit more... App selection is way better and the overall look of the tv is way better. First 4k smart tv .... Hulu, Netflix, Sling, Amazon Video, and more availble

I own this LG 4K 55" smart TV since 4-8-16. It is stylish with a narrow bezel. It performs as expected from a state of the art TV which features enhanced color space, exceptional backlight uniformity and brightness and contrast ratio second to none. All that for an unbeatable price. It was easily set up and the VESA standard wall mounting took no time at all. Cable, Netflix, YouTube, etc. worked instantly and required no manipulation.
I can recommend this LG TV wholeheartedly to anyone.

For less than $1k, this UHD 55-Inch LG TV has astounding picture quality, sound and features. My only gripe is that it has no analog audio output (headphone jack); but I was able to get a digital optical cable and resolve that problem. Amazing TV for the price!

It's a good tv for the price. The blacks are not that good and you can see the lights on the side. But I can't complain, at this price point it is a great starter TV. Definitely going to upgrade later one.

the tv has an excellent picture over the entire screen; bright, life-like colors; even older tv programs and movies look amazingly sharp with the "upsample" feature; netflix and youtube work well though typing web addresses is tedious with the remote (but that would be the same with any tv); have not tried the "playstore" yet, or installed any games; just using as a television\netflix viewer
easy assembly (just screwing on the sturdy, stable "feet"); the sound is good in a medium room at around 15 out of 100, sometimes 25 or 30 is needed for quiet scenes or when the a\c is making noise (using the included tv speakers; no soundbar)
setup was easy but watch out if your wireless router uses "MAC filter" security, remember that you will need to add the MAC of the TV in your settings or the router will not allow it on your LAN (took me a while to figure that one out '__' )
I have had the tv for about 1 month and am very satisfied; amazing 55" for the price (got it for $700 on sale!)

This is replacing a 11yr Sony old LCD that I adored! However, this tv blows that tv away! Very clear picture, sound works fine! I bought it open box for $485.tbis is my first lg so I figured at the price it was low risk high reward. Also this is my first smart tv. The OS is cool wish I could customize a bit more. I stream most of my 4K and uhd content from Netflix and Amazon prime! Sometimes takes a min to reach full clarity but when it does it's amazing. I have connected with monoprice premium hdmi cables that can handle full pixelation at a fraction of the cost BB charges for their premium cables! I have an Xbox and Comcast both boxes work fine! Keep in mind cable providers do not broadcast in 4K so the clarity you see in store is most likely due to 4K blue ray they are playing or streaming from a USB plugged into the back! Next move is updating cable box! All in all great tv, currently deciding if I want to buy the 65" version of this tv or the 7700 series for my family room!

I own other LG TVs and I like this one. Purchased it as a gift for my Mom for her bday. She wanted a 55" TV and I surprised her with the 4K. Having owned 3 LG tv's and a projector this TV falls into an interesting category of performance and compromise.
Pros:
-The TV is a good looking TV. Silver and thin(er) bezel looks great.
-image is beautiful, clear and colors look great (always color calibrate your tv to your liking)
-internal speaker works well, I always use a good soundbar (they work great and are cheaper than a full system)
-Motion and overall viewing experience is nice, looks great to have super hi def on a big screen
-smart tv and apps. love my lg tvs
Cons
-light bleed. any LED lg tv I have used has some. Some are wore than others. This one is not bad or any worse than my other tv and you don't notice it often
-viewing angle. this one does a weird thing where it appears brighter and more washed out if you are looking slightly off of any angle up closer. The picture still looks sharp but its best to watch this tv sitting farther back and off angle is fine then. But then again if you have a 55" tv you should be farther back anyways
-remote. i wish it had a magic remote like my other LG TVs.
-Blacks could be a bit blacker
All in all I recommend this TV. The picture quality is great which is why I only own LG phones and TVs. It handles motion well and is fully color customization to your taste for great movie and tv experience. The price is phenomenal and you also get smart TV with it. Most people won't even care about its few faults to enjoy this TV. My parents and sister love this thing! (Get a sound bar, no matter the TV it helps!)

Turn on HDMI UltraHD Deep color in GeneralSettings
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Fully supports XboxOneS 4k10bit@60hz & HDR10. Despite the sales rep in the store telling me this TV did not support HDR even though it says it on the box I did my research and if you go on to the LG website you can get a better understanding of the full specs period I also used Amazon to confirm that it is 4K 10-bit at 60 hertz. You just need to make sure you turn on HDMI Ultra HD deep color. It is under the general settings. I repeat this TV will fully support 4K and HDR for TV and gaming with the Xbox One S and PS4 Pro.
