My brother who is a manager at Best Buy convinced me to buy this TV. When you are watching anything in 4K, it looks amazing. The true difference comes when you start watching something in Dolby Vision. Eveything is just better in every way in Dolby Vision. Plus when you pair this TV with an Xbox One X and you play a game in 4K HDR, you’ll never go back to 1080p.

This T.V. is probably on my must-buy list if you're looking for a lower cost option to get into the OLED space. The quality of the panel is the same as all the other ones released in 2017, but comes in today at less than $1.5k. This is a pretty significant drop from 2016's LG OLED55B6P price, and brings a beautiful picture right to your eyes.

After months or research before Black Friday, I found a few TVs with high ratings on rtings.com for gaming in 4K HDR, but eventually settled on buying the LG OLED B7A when it went on sale for Black Friday. I am so happy that I went with OLED. The picture quality on this TV is truly astounding and the "true blacks" that it offers really changes everything. I've been using the TV now for about two months with my Xbox One X and couldn't be more content. Gaming in 4K HDR and watching video content in 4K HDR is really pretty amazing and I look forward to experiencing more and more 4K content as it becomes available in the next year and beyond. I have had no issues so far with image retention or burn-in and I think that these issues are often overblown. Yes, they can happen after a long period of time, but keep in mind that the tests for these on sites such as rtings.com are keeping their TVs on a static image for around 20 hours a day, 7 days a week. That is not normal usage for anyone I know. If you are looking for the best picture quality of 2017, look no further. And with the new 2018 models coming out soon, the price on this TV should only get better and better. I could not recommend it more.

Decided to return the 65" Sony LED to give this thing a chance and my goodness, the picture quality doesn't even compare. I'd rather have this picture quality on the 55" that I got vs the 65" Sony LED. The OLED is the best picture quality I've ever seen.

Needed to replace a Samsung LED REAR Projection DLP unit from 2007 which was state of the art at that time. Went in to buy a very nice Sony XBR-55X900E and made the "mistake" of asking what the big deal was about OLED and spending $500 more. Took one look at the picture quality difference and said "Ring it up". Floor rep said it was his fastest sale ever. It's super thin, with pure blacks and amazing color which cannot be described. If you are into great viewing experiences, just get an OLED. LG is the only company right now that makes them....all others get their panels from LG. The sound is just fine, but not a deal breaker because of home sound system. I only use Netflix, You Tube, music and maybe a few other (smart) features, so no more need for the Roku box. Streams well and make sure you update your HDMI cable(s). The remote is probably the weakest link but it works. We still have several remotes because cannot get all (cable) features to work on the LG remote. Bottom line is you buy a TV for the picture quality and OLED has no equal (yet).

OLED is the way to go hands down. Forget LED or QLED. Those things now are like staring at an old computer monitor. With OLED and taking advantage of 4K and HDR, the picture quality becomes so good it is literally like staring into a window to another world. There's just no comparison.
If you're interested in the TV, I highly suggest trying to see a 4K HDR demo in person. You will understand.
The downside to the LG B7 is that it does require some setting up and calibration for optimal quality. If you aren't familiar with TV terms and technical features (I wasn't), it will take a bit of research and playing around to get the settings and quality how you want. Believe me though, it's very well worth it.
My advice buyers looking for a quality TV? Don't waste your money on regular LED's anymore - not even a QLED because it's the same lesser technology. Either pull the trigger on a more expensive OLED, or just keep waiting because the prices are going down and you do NOT want anything less.
See you in the OLED club.

Read about LG TVs in Consumer Reports and have been very pleased with the picture quality and sound of the sound bar. Not sure about the TV itself since we have only used the sound bar. Controls on remote are a little tricky and have not mastered them yet, but I think it's merely a matter of time.

Been following 4K FPD OLED technology for several years, waiting for the price to become more affordable. LG has delivered with their OLED technology - the picture quality of this 55" FPD is simply outstanding! Hopefully product reliability will match my 9 year old HD plasma FPD going forward.

Went to Best Buy after reading reviews on line about the LG OLED and the picture was as beautiful as described. Spent about 10 days getting more info and price shopping and didn’t find anything better at any price. Purchased at Best Buy at the best possible price and couldn’t be happier.

I did a lot if research in this TV . I wanted the 65 inch. But could not bring myself to buy it. The pictures are amazing. The color quality outstanding. If your thinking about the Sony. They borrowed the technology from LG. LG has a better price. Will do another review in a year.

I purchased this tv, returned it without opening it because of negative reviews I read; purchased it again, and glad I did. I read negative reviews about image burn, and non function of the tv after a few days, weeks, and months in some cases. I went to best buy, saw the picture quality again and decided to purchase again. The picture quality is spectacular. However, all content is not the same. There was a movie I watched and I couldn't believe the quality I beheld. Then there were other movies that were great in terms of 4k quality but not as good.
The picture quality is also good when watching 1080p content. I have PS4 connected and older PS4 titles like killzone shadow fall and the last of us remastered are unbelievable. I purchased xbox one x, but didn't connect it to the tv yet. I can't wait to see how games look in true 4k. I don't like the instructions that came with the tv. Also, I purchased the 5 year warranty

Read many reviews, mostly the bad ones, personally I love this TV. I did all the setup by myself, from unboxing to watching, including wifi hook up was about 30 minutes. Great picture and sound LG hasn't disappointed me in almost twenty years of using thier products.

I LOVE this TV. For those who are worried about burn-in...I have used this TV as a monitor for my computer since November 2017...It's now May 2019. I leave the computer running a lot...anywhere from 12-18 hours a day, and as of today there are absolutely no signs of burn-in. The only thing I do to protect the TV is set the taskbar to auto-hide. If you are in the market for the best TV...OLED is the way to go. One last thing, because OLED's aren't as bright as LED's they are more susceptible to light pollution. By that I mean if you can control the lighting in the room, than OLED's the way to go...if it’s going to be in a very bright room and you can't darken the room...you'll probably be better off with LED. You will be blown away by the colors, contrast, and detail of this TV…as of now, it’s the best I’ve ever seen.

So far I love this thing and it is starkly different image and major upgrade compared to my previous Sony Bravia 1080p TV from 2013.
The only complaints I have are the WebOS GUI could be a little more polished in terms of navigability and maybe more setting options. I'd like to see less cryptic error messages when there are issues. Lastly, the darks take some getting used to as it tends to lean on the darker image side without some picture adjustments (*TV environment/setting dependent as well).
The above negative stuff withstanding, the display/video is superb (i.e. crystal clear images, beautiful colors, fluid motion, etc.), the audio is more than adequate for internal-TV speakers (surprisingly good, though I will be adding surround sound), and the TV's overall features and functionality (e.g. # of ports, type of ports, feature sets, etc.) are all at or exceeding my own expectations.
Conclusively, I was happy to hand over >$1500 during the Black Friday weekend sale to purchase this unit, have not been disappointed so far, would recommend and purchase again myself, and I just hope it holds up to continued use for the 3-5 years I intend to keep it.
Hope this helps in your purchase decision-making process.

After having the TV for a month, I have to say this is the best 4K tv I have ever seen. I have a Samsung also and its not in the league of OLED. I do not not have the words to describe the blacks. You just need to buy and enjoy this tv. Also I decided on the OLED55B7A. I have a Bose lifestyle sound system so the OLED55B7A worked for me. Buy the OLED55B7A to save some money. The HDR works great with my Apple 4K tv. The only issue, I wish webos and the remote was more intuitive. WebOs works but you can be frustrated with interphase at time switching from Apple TV to cable box or gaming system. But as for picture this the best. I really do not know how LG could make it better.

I read the reviews before purchasing this but must say the performance in picture as well as software is far beyond my expectations. The set up was seamless and I was watching the TV within 15 minutes of delivery. I wish I had purchased two of these.

You definitely get what you pay for and this is by far the best picture I’ve ever seen. The colors and the deep blacks are perfect. Contrary to what most people say on the reviews, I think the LG WebOS is really nice and has pretty much zero lag.

As promised, once everything is set up properly the picture quality is absolutely fantastic. HDR produces amazingly bright highlights and deep colors. Most people say the HDR is a bigger deal than the resolution, but I think that with appropriate material (eg Planet Earth II) the extra resolution is also pretty stunning.
However, I took off a star because if you just go with the out-of-the-box settings, you get pretty poor results. I think I had read that one should turn off power-saving modes to really see the HDR benefits, so I tried to do this immediately. However, I'm pretty sure that for some reason the TV didn't start using HDR the first few times I viewed HDR material on it (you will see an HDR icon in the corner when it goes into HDR mode), and I'm not even sure what I did to make it start using it. The TV also produced severe and distracting visual artifacts around anything moving at all quickly, which I eventually got rid of by turning off the TruMotion feature (there may be a less severe fix; I will have to look more into it).
On a more minor note, I'd like if it had a bit more support for legacy connections, especially component video.

After looking at multiple tvs in the store, LG has a far superior OLED display. The colors look so vibrant and lifelike. Once I got it home, setup was a breeze. Make sure you disable the TruMotion, otherwise things will move and look unnatural.

Had a regular LCD tv but watching action movies on this TV was a completely different experience! I wasn't in love with with getting this newer technology but I will never go back to anything less. Price wasn't to bad either.
