Love the OLED TV. After doing some research online this TV made the most sense for me given the size I was looking for. The picture quality is amazing. Also, had a fantastic experience with Geek Squad associates Chris and Don who set-up the TV for me. They were on time, called ahead to let me know when they would be arriving and did a fantastic job highlighting the features of the TV. Extremely happy with my purchase and highly recommend!!

I’ve had the tv for two weeks and the more I watch it the more I realize just how good the picture is. I read many reviews before buying and have not observed any flaws in the picture. Just very good all around. No need to get the more expensive oled you won’t know the difference unless you’re a professional tv reviewer. And I will add that the Geek Squad did a great job with mounting and set up of the tv.

Was time to replace my old plasma TV and after much research bought this LG. I really liked my old plasma, but weighed a ton, was getting old, and was about to do a major move so decided not to bring it this time. The plasma TV picture seemed more "organic" and real, but this one seems much cleaner and clearer (would being almost "too clean" be a real criticism?). Was also very easy to set up.

I bought this TV on Black Friday on sale. Everything about this TV is exactly what you expect with such a purchase. The colors are unbelievable and the TV is truly in a class of it's one. I upgraded from a 1080P LG TV and everything is noticeable cleaner and more clear. The blacks are truly black and unless you see it in person you truly do not know what you are missing. Furthermore, I don't have cable and the online connectivity of this TV is flawless and seamles. Apps are easily accessed and downloaded, setup is simple and straightforward, and the overall experience is perfect. The only flaw, and it is a very minor one, is the controller. In general the controller is amazing however, there is no blacklight. Now as stated, this is extremely minor and picky however, for a $2000 dollar TV I get to be picky. Other than that minor and mostly irrelevant issue this TV is a must have.

I have never been a fan of LG until this latest series of OLED TVs but I can say they have won we over. The picture is incredible the remote is easy and fun to use and it looks great wall mounted. If you are looking to spend $ on an OLED TV this is the best deal for the money. Frame rate could be better but it isn't noticeable 99% of the time unless you're watching point break.

Once you go OLED , you never go back!!! The blacks are amazing!! I regret not purchasing this earlier considering how many great movies I watched on non -oled tvs. (I’m rewatching all of em). You don’t see the blooming effect at all, of course that’s OLED for you! But I’m also glad I waited long enough for the price to be almost slashed to half and not pay a premium price tag that these TVs have right out of the manufacturers door. I’ll upgrade to 65 or 75 OLED once the price is right. So far this is one of the best TVs I’ve purchased!!! You can’t go wrong. I’ve read a few reviews where they complained that if you leave your tv picture paused for long , there’ll be burn-in. But LG comes with a screen saver out of the box that won’t let your pic paused for too long. So there you go. Don’t hesitate, if the price is right for you, get it. Oh one last thing, this tv has survived a cross country uhaul truck ride when we moved from Midwest to East securing it only in the box it came in. And it survived my kid’s toy-throwing-at-the-screen mornings a couple of times(luckily). This exhibits the build quality!!! Go for it!

    Picture Burn-in

    Posted .

I purchased an LG OLED55B6P in Feb 2017. My initial review was 5 Stars. The picture was outstanding. Unfortunately today I it’s a 1 Star for two reasons. First, after 8 months I stared to notice some screen burn-in specifically related to cable news networks. LG customer service guided me through multiple attempts to rectify the issue using the “Clear Panel Noise” feature with no success. Finally in Feb 2018, while the TV was still in the 1 year warranty, LG replaced the screen at their cost and the picture was perfect again. Great service right, no wrong! Unfortunately it only lasted 3 months. The burn-in was back even with regular use of the “Clear Panel Noise” as LG instructed. The second reason for the poor rating is lack of customer service. After contacting LG regarding the return of the burn-in they informed me that I was no longer under warranty and I would have to repair the issue at my cost. LG customer service never should have replaced the screen the first time knowing it wouldn’t resolve the issue. This is a high cost electronic and without a permanent mechanical fix to the burn-in issue they should have offered an alternative resolution. An upgrade to a newer model prorated on the age of the current TV or a rebate to purchase a different LG TV. Now I’m stuck with a high priced TV with a terrible picture. I would not recommend this TV or LG for their handling of the issue.

It's unfortunate to know that such difficulties transpired while owning this television. I understand how disappointing this could have been to have this matter happen not once but twice with no resolution. I appreciate the review needed to alert us about this dilemma. My husband bought this TV because we could game on it too, without having to deal with latency issues. He’s loving it. Refresh rate isn’t as fast as a monitor, but that’s to be expected. But the gaming experience has been way better than our previous tv. Colors look fantastic. Magic wand remote is unusual, but easy to use! Great 4K tv with a pro for gamers.

The picture is pretty phenomenal. The prices of the OLED technology are coming down and Best Buy had a great deal on this TV. I recommend highly. Pro Tip: IMMEDIATELY turn off 'energy saving' in the picture settings menu and the picture will drastically improve, particularly for those that watch in a lit room and/or a room with natural light.

Great picture quality! I've only had this tv for about a month but it has met all of my expectations. No matter what you throw at it; movies, tv or some hdr gaming this tv handles it all. This is my first OLED ( Last tv was a Vizio p series) and my favorite thing has to be the amazing black levels and not having any "blooming/lightbleeding" whatsoever. You'll be blown away the first time you watch a hdr movie. You won't be able to go back to a non OLED display. Build quality is top notch as well. There are almost no bezels and the display is very thin. I use a sound bar but, The internal speakers are pretty good as well. They get decently loud and provide a rich surround sound effect. Also the tv has Dolby Atmos support. Usually built in speakers are lame but not this tv's. I could and would totally use the tv without a sound bar or system if I didn't already have one. Overall this is a great tv with superb picture and build quality.

We are very happy with this TV. The picture is phenomenal. Paired with a good sound bar, we can enjoy excellent quality movies. This was fairly easy to set up. We had one glitch when we first set it up and were very fortunate that the Best Buy salesman could talk us through correcting it. Since then, absolutely no problems.

I own last years 65' Sony Bravia 900E and this year's Samsung 49NU8000, then recently I bought this beauty, This 55 inch LG B8 OLED Tv quality is amazing for the price I paid on Black Friday! The C8 has a newer processor for the extra couple hundred dollars, but the B8's quality is supreb and you can naturally tell the difference unless you have the hardware to test the comparisons. Vibrant colors and nautral deep blacks, this Tv is awesome for movies, gaming, sports, all of the above and more! If you're looking for similar quality but you fear burn in issues could be a future problem after long periods of use, go with this years less expensive Sony 900F, or the Samsung NU8000, both great LCD alternatives!

This is my first OLED TV and the best purchase I have ever made. The picture quality is amazing and the Dolby Vision is excellent. It’s very easy to set up and lots of picture settings to adjust according to your needs. Built in Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for voice control comes very handy. Great buy.

I love this tv. I've had it over a year and still get excited to look at the picture quality. The pure black is really addicting. And it's got a great anti-reflective coating so it looks good when it's light outside and I don't see my reflection on the screen like my last tv. We have a surround sound system, but I sometimes just use the tv speaker and it's actually really good. I also connect to it to some bluetooth headphones when my wife is working at home. It took me a while to realize that you don't have to use the 'magic remote' as a mouse cursor. You can just use the direction dials like any other remote. It doesn't have Airplay, like I hear the newer versions do. I use an apple tv, so it's not a big deal for me. The 55" size works for my living room (about 10'x12'), but I kind of wonder if I'd like a 65" more. My wife said no, though so that's that.

I recently purchased a new tv and upgraded from an old tube tv that was still in working condition. The LG OLED series smart tv is my first and only smart tv so far and I must say the purchase is satisfactory for me. The picture quality of the OLED series was sold to be the best technology yet and so far it hasn’t disappointed. The tv is simple enough to transition from all tv modes (i.e. YouTube, cable, etc.). And it has a great sound quality with the built in speakers. They’re not the BEST but they are great. I also purchased a sound bar to compliment, so I’m satisfied.

This is my first OLED TV and I have to say, I love it so far. Movies look really good with great contrast and very dark blacks. HDR10 and Dolby Vision work well on most titles on 4k UHD Blurays that have them. Videogames look awesome with more colors that seem to pop more. Overall, very happy!

Loved the picture on this model. Caught my eye as I walked in to the store to actually purchase another brand and model. After comparing brands, models and pictures for several days I had made somewhat of a decision and returned to the store to buy a Samsung Series 8 model. This LG kept catching my eye but I had determined to keep a set price in mind. However, thus LG was just so tempting (especially as I kept comparing both said models’ picture while displayed just feet from each other). After wheeling and dealing with the BB associate, I realized that the LG model was just a slight higher in price but somewhat higher in picture quality. Sooo... the LG was it ! ... now... unfortunately, I am now on my 3rd LG model in just weeks ! .. . The 1st had been delivered and set up by BB Geek Squad when they mentioned that there was a problem with the TV. They couldn’t take it back until I went to the store and made a report and make arrangements. Did all that and a week later BB GS delivered and set up the replacement. .. a few days later I noticed a flaw in the picture and returned to the store to report it. BB replaced the replacement with another one. Sooo... (knock on wood) this will hopefully be the one TV that I have wanted. Hopefully all these replacements were just a fluke (?).

I purchased this TV set back in late May. I had read many reviews of this set and spoke to 2 different sales people at Best Buy. Both had the same opinions and provided detailed explanations of just what OLED is all about. Boy, am i glad i listened!! When i finally decided to purchase this TV, it was actually on sale for $999, which made it a no brainer. I was considering a SONY 4k set, but the picture on this one was too good to pass up. After a few minor adjustments , I must say this is by far the best looking picture I ever had. Watching sports makes you feel like you are actually there. I also play a Billy Joel concert video and it was incredible. The only negative that I have with this set is the speakers which aren't great. So , at the recommendation of the sales rep , I purchased a soundbar. what a difference!! Love the set and must say, the salespeople at best buy are great. They know there stuff!!!!
