Delivered yesterday, this expensive unit is awesome in many respects. But two attributes are troubling. First, the wifi control, after getting it set up, is a joke. The app controls practically nothing of real use. BUT far more disappointing, the labels on the touchpad are not illuminated. They are shadows against a black background. There is not a single word in the docs about them. So I can only assume that un-illuminated is part of the design. That introduces a cooking hazard that I find unacceptable. See photo.

3 weeks in and we're in love with this stove. The induction top took some getting used to in regards to heat levels. I can't believe how fast the water gets to a boil. Plus, the heat control is awesome. You turn the knob down, the food reacts immediately. The stove is also top notch. Fairy even circulation in convection mode and the broiler is super powerful. The slider rack is a nice touch. All in all, very happy so far.

Awesome oven performance and the induction cooktop is a stellar feature, The fast boils is impressive and I have not had any pans used on it with anything burning to the pan. Used the cook to temp probe feature for my thanksgiving turkey and it came out great, although with the convection bake system, the bird was done almost 45 minutes ahead of time. This feature is included on the ST models, but not listed in the Best Buy literature. Looks good and cleans up nice. If you have little children, the fact that the cooktop stays cool when cooking is a nice safety feature to consider.

I have been looking for an induction range for quite a while. Since they are not usually on display anywhere this had to be on the internet. After comparing all the reviews, features etc I decided on this LG model. It was delivered yesterday and I must say I was not disappointed. First I tried boiling water, 2 cups of water came to a boil as fast as the microwave! Then I made baked Ziti for dinner using 2 of the burners and the oven. Perfect! Cleanup was a breeze. I find the controls intuitive. Today I will use the convection bake to make a bundt cake. I couldn't be more pleased!

This is a great range! Induction cook top provides outstanding temperature control - turn the dial and the temperature change is almost instantaneous. The response is better than a gas range. I definitely recommend this item.

Oven would shut off after 60 seconds. Took two weeks to get LG to fix it after ordering a new board (which wasn't the problem) and then finding a loose connection to the temp probe outlet. It is a nice range, but for 5X the cost of a regular range, I'd expect no issues.

Good excuse to get new cookware. Amazingly quick heating of the pan, I believe under 30 seconds on the large "burner". Quirk - large burner needs large pan or it shuts off after 1 minute (right front), my wife tells me the back burners need smaller pans, we have not proved this. Oven starts getting warm quickly but takes time to fully heat, even so food seems to cook faster (not using convection) than our previous kitchenaid. Also slightly deeper but standard width. So far we love it.

The unit itself is great. The installers scratched my floor and told me someone would call and they never did. So I reached out and they said someone would be calling and no one has! Pretty disappointing since I signed up for the total tech package.

I've used the induction top a few times...love how fast it heats things up. Dust shows up due to the black surface...yikes. Tried oven once, my fish fillets didn't crisp up..will be a learning curve to adjust times and temps for usual items. Overall , very happy with this purchase. Will make me OCD keeping it clean!

Originally bought the 4616 to replace a Samsung stove. The wife liked it but wanted the sliding tray and meat thermometer. I returned it for the 4617 and my wife is ecstatic. Best buy was wonderfully helpful with the exchange.

NEC 422.33 Compliance for power disconnect

I purchased this appliance about a month ago. We are now getting around to planning the installation. The National Electric Code 422.33 states: "(B) Connection at the Rear Base of a Range. For cord-and plug- connected household electric ranges, an attachment plug and receptacle connection at the rear base of a range, accessible from the front by removal of a drawer, shall meet the intent of 422.33(A)." Removing the bottom drawer of this product does not allow disconnection of the plug from the receptacle. You are blocked by a sheet metal panel. Am I missing something?

Should be 5 Stars + but...

First of all, I love this oven (& it’s the only LG appliance I have)—unfortunately I had to buy it from a local appliance store because my previous oven died right before Christmas & BB didn’t have any in stock. I say it should be 5 Stars because the oven works amazing. I’ve cooked breads, bagels, roasts in the oven & a wide variety of things on the cooktop & every single item has come out better than the same exact recipes cooked in my old oven. I’ve used induction in the past but nothing I’ve ever used heats as fast as this cooktop, simply incredible. Yet it’s still capable of a very light simmer on all burners. I also love that the oven vents are on the rear, as seems to be a trend in some ovens these days, as the heat just goes right out the vents & out of the house through my overhead vent. The front of the oven barely gets warm on even the highest settings. The warming drawer is more than just a novelty. Besides getting cold dishes warm on cold winter days, it will keep foods warm while the rest of your dinner is finishing & there is plenty of room. The sliding rack (the 1 on ball bearings) works great & is nice & smooth thanks to those ball bearings, I like a different brand I looked at before purchasing this. It’s also flat, which may seem like an odd comment but the other brand I referred to (a popular American brand) has a similar rack but it’s not on ball bearings so it doesn’t glide smoothly & the design cuts off a couple of inches of useable oven width. With the LG, I can use my widest pans on this rack without any issue. The issues I have with it are minor & not so minor. The minor being it’s Alexa integration. Yeah, I know, I sound like a whiner complaining about something like this but I like to get what I pay for. I actually bought this & paid less than a competing European brand because the other didn’t have any smart features. While this oven does work quite well with its own app on my IPad, there are many times when my hands are full of dough or I’m doing something that I’d rather not stop when asking Alexa to change the oven temp or even to turn it on if I happen to have forgotten yet even though there is an Alexa Skill for it & even though it’s advertised with the capability, it simply won’t work. Searching online finds hundreds of people saying the same. The other problem, not so minor, is the well advertised ‘Easy Clean’ feature which is really anything but. Like the Alexa problem, Easy Clean just doesn’t work. There are hundreds of complaints about this as well & LG had best address this issue since it’s a major oven feature. I haven’t used the actual Self Clean feature yet as I’m a bit hesitant after reading the complaints many/most users report that immediately after using it, the oven stopped working but I’ll probably give it a shot soon as the cold weather is probably gone for the year here near Tampa & if the oven dies after self cleaning I have a couple of grills & smokers I could use instead.

My new oven was delivered 3/2/2020. When I use the range it heats well to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, however anything past that is not accurate. When I select 375 the oven goes to 420 degrees Fahrenheit. Not good for baking!!
