LG OLED 65" B6 is the #1 TV on the market

Let me start by saying I first purchased the 65" Samsung ks9000. Yes it is bright and the contrast pops. My issue was when watching anything that is supposed to be a really dark scene. For example watching Game of Thrones it just felt that every single scene was showing to bright. It's a dark and gloomy world that your supposed to feel within it. The Samsung just couldn't show me what I felt we should be seeing. So I went to Best Buy they always have the best tv's on display. I kept going back to the LG OLED section. I took the plunge and purchased the B6 and brought him home to set it up. Now I had the Samsung ks9000 and LG B6 side by side. Not many customers get to experience it in your own living room and see the two top tv's of the year side by side. Well at first glance my wife kept saying the "Samsung is better the Samsung is better!" I wasn't seeing it, but I was definitely thinking to myself maybe it is and I'll save the $799 difference between the two and return the B6. Well I'll say this I read reviews for 3 months and couldn't make a decision from the beginning that's what made me by the Samsung in the first place. For some reason nobody is talking about Samsung only being able to handle HDR10 and not Dolby Vision. Well here is where LG smoked the Samsung and I haven't looked back since. It made it so easy to return the Samsung. I put side by side Marco Polo in 4k UHD on Netflix. The Samsung was looking great yes highlighted areas get bright with 1400 plus nits but when I kept on looking over to the LG (max nits 700 plus but infinite contrast due to OLED ability to go Black as Black should be) and couldn't understand the depth of the picture on the B6, the clouds in the sky, flooring in the temple, the leather chest guard on one of the characters. I felt like I was looking out a window and not a tv screen. The contrast and ridiculous coloring of HDR on the B6 is mindblowing. Samsung is making a major mistake not putting Dolby Vision into their tv's. LG is the winner of 2016 and I'm not sure how anyone will be able to unseat them anytime soon. LG OLED is future proof with both HDR (high dynamic range) Content loaded into their systems. If you are on a budget I would tell you to buy either the 55" B6 OLED or if you want bigger on a budget the Samsung 65ks8000 was the most reviewed and rated tv in its class. If you do have the money and want the top of the line get the B6 in my opinion it's not worth 500 more let alone over a 1,000 dollars to go into the E6-G6 range.

I did a lot of research prior to buying this screen and it payed off, a little pricy but worth it. The infinite contrast from pitch blacks to bright whites allows colors and picture details to explode of of the screen. Had to tweak the Auto-motion plus to my liking as I saw blurry artifiacts with the conventional smooth/clear settings, use the "user" setting and slider bars to adjust to your preference. WebOS 3.0 is the best smart tv platform I've ever used and is very user friendly. I chose the B6 because I already have a surround sound system in place at home and didn't see the big need for 3D, if one can do without these options then there's no need to buy the more expensive E6 or G6 as an upgraded soundbar and 3D are the only differences in these models... I upgraded from a Samsung Plasma 1080p 600Hz set and imo, the OLED completely outdoes the Plasma, very happy with OLED tech!

My first big tv. At 65 inch, and OLED screen, this LG smart tv is great for watching movies. Fantastic colors and resolution. Speakers aren't like theater, (less bass) but are just fine for regular tv and videos. A little pricy but worth it to me. My Grandkids love to watch movies at my house now! After having a Rear Projection 55 inch for 14.5 years it was time to upgrade. After reading review after review it kept coming back to the LG OLED as having the best picture quality and is being most compared as the plasma replacement. And thats exactly what you get. Watching sports, movies, or streaming content this TV is incredible. This TV is more expensive and worth it. IT IS AWESOME!

What I can I say if you don't own one of these then you really haven't experienced true picture quality at its best. The black level makes all the difference for the colors and the infinite contrast is remarkable. Watching a movie with tons of color in the dark with a black background.... Can you say floating images that's almost 3D like.

Excellent picture, and more technical gadgets than I'll ever use. I bought the Bose Soundbar and Bose Acoustimas Sub. I read that LG's audio was cheesy at best, and it certainly earned that rating. Overall, it's a good choice.

Perhaps the best picture I've ever seen on a television, and that is why I chose an LG OLED. This unit replaced a nine year old plasma TV so I am used to seeing very good black levels. LED's and LCD's have never measured up in that regard. This OLED far exceeds my old plasma and any current LCD/LED. All the other features, and the brilliant and luminous colors produced by this TV are just icing on the cake.

Everyone said the OLED 4K provides the best picture imaginable... they were right. It's a spectacular TV with the most stunning image quality I've ever seen. The Smart functions are solid, and everything is pretty easy to set up. Overall, while pricier than 4K LEDs, the difference in picture quality is noticeable.

I did a lot of research before buying this TV and have no regrets. Games look amazing, live TV and sports make you feel like you're there while watching, and even old movies look stunning. The screen is so thin I worried it would break while lifting it onto the shelf, but it's sturdier than it appears.

I bought this in July of 2016. Within a few months I had burn in from watching cable news channels that LG refuses to fix. I thought most problems would show themselves in first year and figured I did not need an extended warranty. Wrong. $4k down the drain. I just bought a Sony 930e because I don’t trust OLED at this time. Yes it’s a beautiful picture that can I consistently. Check out the rtings website if you want to see pictures.

    Defective Panel & Poor support

I purchased this as an Open Box. After getting it home, I noticed vertical lines on the panel the next day (only when certain colors were present on screen). Called LG customer support. They authorized a technician to come out and he confirmed it was a bad panel (apparently a high number of these panels go bad according to him). After the fact, LG support said it will now be covered under manufacturer warranty because their warranty excludes open box items (and the LG supervisor was sure to tell me they wouldn't cover it because I got "too good a deal given the price I paid". Best Buy stated LG should cover the panel replacement (and they do state open box items should come with manufacturer warranty). However, they can't force the manufacturer to stand by their warranty so I'm out of luck. Very disappointing experience all around - knowing what I know now about the quality issues and poor customer service I can't recommend either Best Buy or LG.

Terrible burn in on LG TV. Cost $3800

BURN IN is TERRIBLE. Paid $3800 for a LG TV where the picture constantly has lines and burnt in logos. Don't put you tube TV on pause when you take a break for any reason because you end up with a permanent line on the screen and a background image in the upper left side. This is very disappointing, as Best Buy assured me that burn in is basically a thing of the past and handled by various pixel refreshers in all newer TV's. My old panasonic plasma is still working fine and plasma has a bad rep for burn in. Didn't know I needed to hire a baby sitter to be sure my TV wasn't on a channel which would cause burn in. This is the most I've ever paid for a TV and the shortest lifespan. DO NOT BUY AN LG OLED TV. That pretty picture won't look so pretty after it has lines in it which continually remind you that you made a mistake. Not happy. LG should have taken care of this issue long ago.

    My 4K Mission to Perfection

    Posted .

Let me tell you my OLED TV story, it all began with last year I walked into Magnolia Design Center to find the Samsung 65” 8500 on sale from $3500 to $2000. I could not get the settings right to clear out inconsistencies of the horrid edge lit design resulting in light bleed, I went through FOUR, that’s right FOUR of these and found the bleed different on each one. I then exchanged this with the Sony X950b 65” TV on sale from $4000 to $3000 four months after the initial purchase in March at this time the 8500’s fixed price seems at $2000, this Sony was a great TV with Full Array lighting that did not even have HDR but it struggled with brightness and had several vertical bands on the screen, somehow these bands were more prominent with 4K gaming and I could not take having a $3000 investment have vertical banding any longer where I placed in a BestBuy service request in June for it to be replaced. I then waited for MONTHS for Sony to honor this under their warranty where they deemed the X950b was functioning normally, UNACCEPTABLE!!! Magnolia then evaluated this request for about another MONTH till they approved an exchange in October. I then processed the exchange with John in the Magnolia Design Center in Framingham, MA for the LG OLED65B6P at $3500 from $4500. I then scheduled the delivery for the exchange and got it up and BOOM! THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST PICTURE I HAVE EVER SEEN! PERFECT BLACKS, ELITE COLOR, BRIGHT PURE WHITES, NO VERTICAL BANDS, NO BACKLIGHT BLEED, 2016 HDR AND WIDE VIEWING ANGLES! A few people noted motion issues, I set mine to custom with 7/8 on both settings and I did not have to touch much with all the other settings. Everything looks FANTASTIC and I highly recommend this TV. BUY IT, YOU WILL ENJOY IT AND YOU WILL BE THE ENVY OF ALL WHO GAZE UPON IT AND NOT TO MENTION IT IS THINNER THAN MY SURFACE BOOK! I hope this review helps as this is the longest review I have ever written and I can say I AM HAPPY WITH MY TV FINALLY, and to think last year I underwent PRK laser eye surgery and have 20/15 vision, this is my new favorite thing to look at with perfect eye sight and I cannot imagine how many years it will take to top this!
