I spent a lot of time doing research to replace a 6 year old early Samsung 4K. Since I read many reviews on multiple sites and found them helpful, I thought I'd return the favor. I was torn between going for a larger 75in LED or staying at 65in but go for the OLED. Initially the price was comparable comparing a 75in Sony 950 to the 64 in LG OLED (the 77 in price is ridiculous). The reviews I read said that the LG OLED was the best for overall mixed use especially for sports and movies. I don't do gaming. The price had been holding steady but then the OLED dropped by a third to under $2000. For me that sealed the deal. I pounced on the LG C8 OLED. I have had it a week now and don't regret it at all especially considering the price difference compared to the 75 inch Sony. Bigger would have been better but wasn't worth the push back from my wife and for $1000 less and a MUCH better picture, it's worth it. When you hear "inky blacks" it is true and the level of detail is remarkable. The TV is in the basement so the perceived lack of brightness with OLED's is not an issue in my case. Watching Bosch on Amazon Prime last night in 4K HDR and the wife said "That picture really is better". I was shocked since she thought the old TV was fine. Sports is much clearer without the blur of the old TV. One last point. The TV is run through a Denon S910W AVR with Apple TV 4K and a Roku stick also (long story). I must say that when you read that all HDMI cables are the same was not my experience at all. I bought new high speed cables from Amazon but could not get the TV to do 4K HDR @60 through the Apple TV nor the Roku. After some research, I decided to break down and buy the Apple recommended Belkin HDMI cables. Reconnected everything and "Viola!" everything was at 4K HDR @60. All I can say the cheap cables didn't work but the more expensive ones did. At least the Belkin ones aren't the price of Best Buy's high end ones. That's my thoughts and hope this is helpful to someone.

We absolutely LOVE this TV!! We replaced a regular LED 65" one and the picture is so much better. It feels like you are there in the movie. The darks really are darker. We love watching sci fi movies and the outer space scenes look so much better on this TV. If you are looking for a new TV, this is the one! They have a larger one, but the value is much better at the 65" size. We did have to buy Blu-Ray DVD's for some of our older movies as we wanted the best quality.

It goes without saying that this TV has all the bells and whistles. The remote is very easy to use and the switch from Netflix, to the Firestick, to any other connection we have is seamless. The picture is brilliant even without 4K cable (we don't have cable). We purchased this TV over others as it offered the most updated options on a TV while ensuring that even after many years that it would be able to support any upcoming enhancements that the movie industry could put forth.

This is the first time we have ever purchased an LG TV. We always bought Samsung. This TV was rated excellent for 65” in Consumer Reports-even in sound-which is very unusual. Companies do not spend much money on sound because you can always buy a sound bar or speakers. I can’t describe how good the OLED color is-you just have to see for yourself at Best Buy. It will blow you away! I like the voice commands- you can also use Alexa or Google. I highly recommend this TV!

Was back and forth between an LCD/LED that I’m used to or going with OLED. Was a lil worried about burn in talk, but decided to go with OLED as I dread backlight bleed from an LCD/LED. First movie watched was Interstellar and wow, killer on this! Also, tv is plenty bright and at 65” it’s a lot of light at night, so I’ve found myself going to a darker setting. Love how many predefined picture modes there are. Glad I decided to try OLED, and no regrets.

I love this TV. I debated long and hard between this tv and the Samsung Q8. I've owned Samsungs for almost 20 years now and have never been less than awed, much less disappointed. That being said, I went with this tv and have not been disappointed. The picture quality is the best I've seen and the processor and functionality are superb. I've cut the cord so the interface was important and this one could not be easier or faster. Ironically, a few weeks later I decided to upgrade the smaller tv in my sunroom and went with a Samsung QLED, though I saved money and bought a Q6 rather than the q8. I love the Q6 as well, but the LG C8 is better. That is qualified of course, in that I've seen the Q8 and Q6 side by side and the Q8 was superior to the Q6 so I can't compare a q8 to the LG. Basically, the TV rocks.

If you've read any reviews anywhere, you've probably seen that this set has one of the best pictures available. (Seriously, sometimes it seems better than really being there.) But the packaging is what I came to talk about. Seriously, whoever engineered the packaging, and particularly how you use the packaging to protect the set while you attach the stand, is a genius. Okay, the instructions for it are a little, um, hard to follow, and split between two different sheets with no indication on either to look at the other one. So read all the set up instructions before proceeding. Well, "read," I guess. Yes, documentation makers, a picture is worth a thousand words. But a few words would also be useful. (Also, a hint to people buying this TV, make sure you open the side of the box that has the instructions.) But still, genius. Also, I like to keep a box and all packaging until the warranty on a product runs out. Even with the TV out of the box, I could *not* figure out how to get all the packaging back in. A master of Tetris might be able to do it. So now I have the box sitting in my basement with a piece of styrofoam packaging sitting on top of the box. Note: This is not a complaint; in fact, I am in awe of the packaging altogether if you can't tell. But yeah, the picture is great too.

When we first seen this model of smart tv in the Magnolia room we knew this was the one we wanted. We waited for it to go onsale and after Geek Squad delivered and installed this in our home it has been nothing less than a incredibly cutting edge peice of technology. Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, 4K and OLED. This smart tv has it all. The web O/S loads very fast. Go with the C8 over the B8. The C8 is the newest 2018 model as well as the fastest processor.

At the price I bought this TV I feel like I stole it. In every category that I think makes the best picture quality, the LG OLED is number one in all. Color, contrast, motion, upscaling, and functionality. I couldn't have asked for a better set. One draw back may be I wish it was bigger and cheaper. Other than that it will smash any other TV in the house. I have had it a month now and wish I would have made the purchase sooner.

This is my second LG 4K OLED and it did not dissapoint! The picture is great and it looks beatifyl mounted on my wall! I had originally ordered a Samsung QLED from Samsung Direct but it arrived cracked so I shipped it back. When I went to the local Best Buy and saw the LG and the Samsung next to each other I decided to go for the LG hands down! The other one I own was a floor model and it’s been working great for 3 years now! Love these TVs!

I searched and compared many TVs before making this purchase. This is the best TV out there, no question. I looked at QLED 9 series from Samsung and high end Sony TVs. LG C8 has great picture, color and sound. Very easy to use with its remote and has all the popular apps/channels built in already. You cannot go wrong. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I have had my Oled 65C8 about a month now. I am still learning about what this TV is capable of and it just keeps going on and on. The picture quality is unreal. Once you have learned your magic remote it is so easy to do most everything. Pointer is great and so quick. Factory calibration was perfect. BB was great at delivery and placing TV right where I wanted it. I would recommend this TV to everyone who is after perfection.

I had a bad experience with my last LG OLED B7 (having a strip of LEDs fail within the first month), so I upgraded the unit to the newer model hoping to have better luck. So far, the picture is amazing and the new features added with the updated processor are a bonus for gaming and pretty much any 1080p video looks almost HDR quality. Considerably more dolby vision content via Netflix really shows off this TVs ability to have near perfect images.

Amazing picture. True blacks. Clarity looks almost 3D, on regular stations. 4K broadcasts are amazing. Great on Amazon Video and Netflix. Only cons - 1 - will not play my Amazon music. Hopefully that will change with updates. 2 - Need to use a Logitech remote, because LG remote does not work well with surround sound receiver and Directv Genie. I believe this is more about Directv than the LG unit itself.

In my household the TV is the center of all entertainment. I’m a tech junkie and I love a great looking screen and nothing compares to this TV. No matter what content I’m watching whether it be standard definition, HD or 4K it all looks just amazing on this. They say it’s perfect black and it is absolutely true. Only con about the TV is it can be a little Dark but the rest of the features outweigh that.

Even better than my 55 c7. Was going to wait for the 2019 models but this went on sale for $1949.99 for a 65”. It was only a couple days. Couldn’t resist so I jumped on it before it went back to $2799.99. Couldn’t be happier. Picture quality is amazing and so much better than Lcd. Some may disagree but OLED has the best picture quality. Too many features to list. Just enjoying it every day.

This is an AMAZING TV. After watching LED the last 10 years or so it takes about a week to get use to OLED technology. But once you're use to it nothing else comes close. We have had a 65" 2016 Samsung 9000 series tv, a 2017 65" Samsung 9500 series tv and a 2017 Vizio P65-c1 model and this OLED leads the pack. The LEDs get brighter but overall I prefer the OLED picture better

Dropping this much money on a TV was a tough decision for me but I couldn't be happier with my choice. OLED really makes the difference, I went from a sony 4k hdr tv to this and the difference is night and day. OLED is the future and you get what you pay for.

    Beats the Sony A9 Master

I had the new Sony Master Series A9 and don't get me wrong, that display is outstanding, in fact Sony needed to roll out the A9 Master to compete with the LG C8 because none of their other OLEDS could compete. After spending a good deal of time with both sets, we come to the conclusion that the difference in picture quality is splitting hairs. Even if the Sony A9 and the LG C8 were the same price, I think we would still opt for the LG C8.. In my opinion, it reproduces more life like detail when watching a live broadcast of the news. I can see the pores and skin tones after calibration better with the LG. This review is coming from someone who was and still loves Sony. However I think Sony needs to start selling their products at a more competitive price point for what you get. Not to mention that up until the new Master series, Sony's operating system or software is 10 years behind LG and even Samsung who's TV's aren't anything more than a flashing over blooming billboard. People that buy Samsung TV's really don't understand quality.. lol

As most other have said, the picture on this TV is fantastic. Can’t add a lot to that. Although I understand the technology and issues associated with OLD, it is a bit disconcerting to spend a large sum on a TV realizing it can be subject to screen “burn in.” I am old enough to remember the problem with old Cathode Ray Tube TV sets that suffered from this problem, and it was is some cases a major issue. Not wishing to risk the problem with the LG unit, I choose to purchase the Best Buy five-year service plan which covers the potential burn in problem. I know LG has taken steps to reduce the problem in their OLD sets, and hopefully they will get this issue completely resolved in the coming years. I also want to say how pleased I am with the buying experience at Best Buy. The salesman I dealt with was very knowledgeable about the two different TV brands and models I was considering, which was very helpful. Because of its size, I did not want to risk damaging the TV buy installing it myself, and had the Geek Squad do the install and setup. The fellow who did the setup was very knowledgeable about the process, and did a good job of integrating the TV into my existing sound system, and explaining the various TV functions. I purchased the TV on Black Friday, 2018, so have not had it for long. Hopefully all will go well for years to come. Stay tuned!
