This thing reminds me a lot of my rice cooker. I put the stuff in it, push auto, and then walk away. When it's done it sings! Very comparable to the Samsung dryer my dad purchased, but at a much lower price. It matches the washer I purchase so there's that too! I also managed to get this bad boy on sale! No issues to date. Great bargain for a great product.

We have had this dryer for a little over a month, but so far so good. Runs quiet, looks great, and best of all it does a very good job of what a dryer needs to do, and that is to dry your clothes in a reasonable amount of time. Plenty of setting options, and very easy to use. My wife is happy with it, and thus I'm happy, and in turn that also makes me happy with LG.

I recently purchased this as a set - washer and dryer. I love the way it looks and sounds. It also seems to work well once you get used to the settings. I haven't received an electric bill since buying this, so I can't say how energy efficient it is, but it stops as soon as the clothes are dry. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it to get rid of wrinkles. Certain pants are very wrinkled when the cycle is done (compared to my old dryer). Overall, I'm happy with this dryer.

Working great, minor gripes

Simple machine, working fine so far, just under 2 months in. Very quiet, good selection of cycles.
Minor gripes (which were known before purchasing, to be fair):
(1) Curved top - who doesn't use the top of their dryer as a work surface for laundry? Curved top is an unnecessary aesthetic design choice, and arguably inconvenient. Probably done to match the curved top of the associated washer.
(2) Side-hinged door instead of bottom-hinged - certainly not a deal-breaker, but bottom-hinged doors just make more sense for transferring laundry in and out of the machine. Side-note, the door is reversible so can be set to open in either direction by swapping the hinges and latch.
(3) The description on the Best Buy site, under features, says no moisture sensor, but the machine does have a series of sensor-dry cycles. Not really sure what the difference is there, but frankly, the sensor-dry cycles on this machine aren't that great. After using them, the laundry is still quite damp, so the manual-dry cycles are the only ones we use. Kind of a bummer because a machine that senses dryness properly would be more efficient.
Still gets a thumbs up overall.

LG DLE1501 Dryer - love it!

I researched several dryer manufacturers, models and reviews over the past months and chose this model based on my research. I've had it almost two weeks and have done multiple loads of laundry with this and my new LG Washer (bought the 1501 model washer also). My previous dryer was 16+ years old and the interior exhaust vent screen was causing pulls and rips in my towels due to metal fatigue (replacement part not available any longer). I've never had a dryer with an internal light so that was a bonus for me. The various cycle settings have worked perfectly and I've used just about every one of them so far. Quiet operation in my cement floor/cement block unfinished basement even when I'm down there! Dryer & Washer were on sale and because I'd found even a lower price on the dryer on the web, my Best Buy Salesperson (Roy) went ahead & found a lower price comparison on the washer for me also which is always a plus!!! Take the time and read the manual to get the best use of this appliance for your various drying needs. The Clean Filter Reminder light is a nice touch when you turn the dryer on, just in case you don't clean your filter after each drying cycle has completed.

I am very happy with the new LG washer and dryer that I just purchased. They look great, they are easy to use, quiet and enough bells and whistles to wash and dry your laundry very efficiently - a good value for the money.

Quiet! LG Washer and Dryer review

I knew I didn't want to spend an exorbitant amount for a washer and dryer. I didn't need the fanciest appliances, just a set that would do its job. After reading the reviews, this LG combination was reasonably priced, and not too tech-y. I bough both the washer and dryer. Both were easy to figure out. For the washer, I have not had a problem yet with balance issues (as others have written about; I've washed quilts and tons of sheets and towels), and they are both quiet machines. I am only 5'3", and though it is deep, I don't find the depth so burdensome. For the dryer, again, it is quiet! And what used to take at least 90 min of drying, now takes less than 50 min- saves on time and money :)

What a step up from our 12-15 year old set! Huge capacity, silent operation, easy to use, intuitive controls. Love the flexibility of drying temperatures. Air dry lets us put the most delicate of items in without fear of shrinkage. Highly recommended.

This is a very quiet and efficient dryer. It has 2 cycles that are easy to program. Just hit a button and it takes off. It is an energy savor too so your electric bill will go down. It is very easy to clean the filter. It warns you if the filter hasn't been cleaned before each use.

Got this dryer and the matching washer on Black Friday. It is a great pair with a great price. It's not that fancy looking. It is very roomy and does a great job drying clothes if you use the "more dry" setting. It's very easy to use too.

WOW! This is an AMAZING washer. I have always been a fan of Samsung products, but this went above and beyond of what I expected. It is quiet, dries very quickly. I must say the most important thing for me were the buttons in the front. Super easy to use!! Buy it!!

This dryer is very efficient and very quite. In my old dryer a load of permanent press clothes (shirts, blouses, etc) would take an hour to 90 minutes to dry. This dryer I tell it the type of clothes and it sets the time. Even heavier loads such as jeans take only about 35 minutes to dry. Nice little tune at the end tells me clothes are ready. I haven't used the app yet, but you can put clothes in and then turn the dryer on with your phone. I think this would be helpful if I was going out of the house for a short while. I could turn the dryer on when I'm getting ready to return and clothes would be ready when I got home.

I love the features on this, the fact it is energy efficient makes the deal! Very quiet and performs a great dry. If the clothes are dry before the scheduled cycle, it will turn itself off to save you electricity.

It's pretty quiet. It's fairly large and big enough to fit a king comforter. It's user friendly and so worth the cost. Couldn't have picked a better one and love that it's low cost to run it.

We were a bit forced into a washer purchase due to our old washer leaving marks on our clothes. We selected the Lg because of the cost, efficiency, and reviews. We love our purchase. Never knew how dirty our old washer was until we smelled how fresh our clothes were out of the new washer. It is hard to get used too not seeing a bunch of water in the tank but it does clean them. Also it is so much quieter. The controls were fairly easy to get used too and now we have our favorites. Overall great washer for the money

Efficient Dryer

This dryer appears much more efficient than my last one, as I don’t have to try a few times to get all items dry. I have used the eco cycle for my sheets, with success. A full load of towels, dried evenly and without pulling some out. The choices on the panel really allow specifics to fit one load. I’ve had it less than 10 days, ( 5 loads of varied types , due to a long lapse between broken and new) so I have more to learn. The end cycle chime is a plus. There is also a light as a reminder to clean the lint trap. It is not my first choice, but needed to choose a smaller dimension. So far, it has my vote.

As many know when you review purchases such as appliances when you haven't had them for very long it makes for a limited review. You need more time with the product in determining the quality and it's longevity. That's especially true with big appliances. So far so good. The features are great without being too technical and does exactly what's advertised. This itemed was researched heavily before purchase. Hopefully it will continue to perform as great as it does now.

After buying a new house I was initially happy that we had some appliances already there so we didn't have to add that to move in costs. However, each appliance was probably the cheapest model they could find and replacing them became a year to year plan. This year was definitely a new washer and dryer and after looking at a cheaper model I am glad that we went with the LG pair. Both are super quiet, work harder than we do to determine good times for the laundry we put in them and work quickly and efficiently each time. Have had the pair for about two weeks and only sad that I didn't upgrade earlier.
