Picture on a wall TV earns an A-

Excellent aspects: o Great picture. o Nice color volume. o Lays very close to wall (but not perfectly flush even with expert BB Geek Squad installation - see top and bottom curved away from wall slightly in picture). o Picture bright enough for bright room viewing. o Good off axis picture. Okay aspects: o Sound is not that good even when selecting among the half dozen available sound settings. Really needs a sound bar or full HT setup although both would detract from the picture on a wall aspect of the TV. o Upscaling is good but not great. There are some artifacts with typical SD source material in cable or OTA sources. o Software for motion control decent. Poor aspects: o Remote is sub-par for this level of TV. For example, no remote backlight makes using it difficult in low light viewing. o Software little buggy. TV is set up for wireless internet connection and sits 8 feet from a top of the line router with a line of sight path (no walls between the router and TV). Despite the close proximity and a very strong signal from the router, the TV freezes and does not recognize the network. Have checked router during such events and it’s working fine for every other device connected to it. The only fix in these cases is a cold restart of the TV (unplug the TV for 30 seconds and plug back in) and then it boots up and works fine until the next freeze up (about once every two weeks so far).

Very nice tv, you can clearly see its another level from your regular tv. It came with its own wall mount. It’s an Oled so you know the blacks are amazing but now the color also pops! Gaming is a dream come true. Only thing I dislike is that out of the box I feel the color temperature is too warm , is like everyone has a sun tan

    Almost an Amazing TV

I've had this TV for almost a year now, and am mostly satisfied. The picture is incredible. Colors and brightness are something to behold. Looks great mounted on the wall. However, the remote signal can be very choppy and new batteries/ re-pairing the remote don't help. TV needs to be unplugged from the socket to get it working properly again. Had to disable the quick-start up feature. Lots about it on forums. Also, kind of my fault for not doing the research, but the ethernet port on this TV is limited to 100Mbps. That's right, a TV that relies almost entirely on being connected to the internet is limited to 100 megabits wired because they cheaped out on the ethernet adapter. So if you stream things that are 4k HDR with Dolby Atmos, which is a selling point of this TV, you'll have to use WiFi because the ethernet port might not be able to handle it. I hope you have an awesome router.

Switched over from a QLED to this OLED and it has been outstanding. I have a fairly bright living room with windows and the G2 does a good job staying bright enough. Won’t get as bright a a LED, but still good. At night it really shines with the perfect blacks. Great for gaming too! No issues. Great for movies and gaming. Internal speakers are just ok. I recommend getting a soundbar or investing in a home theater sound system.

This TV is wow, just Wow! First off the size. It's HUGE. My old LG 65" E6 is puny compared to this. I've had this OLED since Oct.12 2022. I use it as my computer monitor. No cable TV. Picture quality is great! Who ever said the LG G2 isn't as bright as it's Sony counterpart. Needs their head examined. This thing can be blindingly bright. If you are so inclined. Since I use it as a computer monitor. Graphical adjustments are done via my Rog Strix 3080 OC video card. Because of this. There really hasn't been a need to delve deep into the OLED's Picture Settings. The colors Pop watching Japanese Anime (what I watch 90% of the time). Pixel Care does a good job of sweeping way any errant pixels. This TV is still new though (only 4 months old). I'm hoping screen burn doesn't rear it's ugly head like on my E6. Time will tell. Burn-in on my E6 is why I purchased the G2. So far, I am completely satisfied with my new OLED. If you do buy one. I'm sure you'll be satisfied too!

Back in May, I was lucky enough to be able to upgrade my TV from the new C2 to a G2 in the 77 inch size. I didnt think it would be much of a difference, but did it anyway... Short answer, the difference was breathtaking! The clarity, quality, and just the visual impact was simply amazing. Watching ST-SNW's, you could see the pores on the actors faces! The colors so vibrant is was a pure treat... (FYI - the reason for the 4 stars on sound quality is because I don't think any TV has good sound compared to a SONUS or other outboard sound system) FWIW, I did not great a special deal, nor was I in any way compensated for this, I just a gear head, but this TV is far and away the best TV I have ever had!!!!

I recently bought the LG Oled 77, the install was a breeze and I feel as if I’m in a cinema watching a private showing (screen size is perfect) in my living room. The picture quality is detailed and bright, the TV is sleek and thin so adds to the modern decor in my home. (I’m just about finished with my renovation project.) Thank you LG, life really is good.

    Good missing some software upgrades

This was my first OLED tv purchase ever and had very high expectations. First of all when using the correct streaming app and content (preferred Dolby vision) this tv is a 10/10. But unfortunately there seems to be some areas for improvement which I believe that could be fixed with some software updates if LG listens. First off I cut cable and stream everything. I hate that LG doesn’t have an ESPN app in the App Store. I also notice huge volume difference when swapping from multiple apps, example Netflix volume is very low compared to streaming YouTube or Disney plus. I do get around with plugging my fire stick for the apps that LG doesn’t offer but the picture quality is never the same vs steaming through the LG apps. Because of that I can’t give this a 5/5 rating. These are simple fixes that can hopefully be resolved with some software updates. Once you get over those small hurdles, when you are streaming top quality source using HDR or Dolby Vision, the picture quality is beyond amazing.

Excellent TV! The picture is unlike anything I have seen before. This is my first OLED and I could not be happier. It is a 7.1.2 Speaker system so 7 speakers, 1 sub, and 2 upwards-facing speakers for a really good sound experience even without a soundbar. If you plan on buying this tv of the new G3 make sure you have a place to mount it. They do sell a stand for it separately but it usually needs to be delivered and seems to take a while. Other than that, when recording a video of the screen it looks like the video is just playing on the phone rather than being a video of a TV. 10/10 would recommend!

This G2 replaced a C9 and I must say the G2 is leaps and bounds better, not that the C9 is a bad TV, it's actually a great TV for it's time. The picture quality is outstanding that as I'm watching a movie or show I keep telling myself WOW this TV looks great. HD, 4K, HDR all look great. There are many settings on this TV to get it perfect to your taste. Out of the box default settings will need to be changed to get the most out of this TV. Too many to list. The TV's default settings are basically energy/power saving picture modes, in addition a lot of the sensors are turned on by default for certain picture modes. if you want the best picture with max brightness you will need to turn off energy savor, AI settings, etc.

    Wireless Connection issues

I wish I was able to give this a five star rating… The picture quality and sound is definitely one of the best TVs I have ever owned. I am always on Samsung TVs which should be great and took some convincing to buy an LG. When I first mounted the TV it continuously had wireless connection problems dropping the Internet constantly and I do stream all my TV. I started doing some research and noticed that this is a common problem with LG. So I actually called the company LG and this is where I really got upset. They told me they have no idea and never heard of this problem. If you go online and start searching you will find mini mini wireless connection issues with LG. That’s when I decided I was going to return the TV. Although I did like the TV so much in the process before they came out to pick it up I decided to use an ethernet cable and hardwire it to my router. Once I did this it’s all all the problems and the TV is awesome! But just be prepared if you buy this TV you could potentially have the same wireless issues as I have if that’s how you’re going to connect it.

Great Picture, terrible with accessing Apps

The picture is amazing, however using apps such as Fubo, Appletv, etc… is a huge headache. This is my 5th LG OLED(77”x2, 65”x2, 48”x1), so obviously I like the quality of the picture. Whenever i try to start an app it asks to update and then I get a message stating the app is not downloaded. I have found that the only way I can access the LG App store I have to change the DNS settings. This is true for all 5 televisions, whether connected via WIFI or ethernet. My workaround has been to connect an AppleTV to each TV instead of having to constantly change network settings. Disappointing for televisions that cost anywhere from $1000-$4000.

This television is absolutely astounding. I’ve had it for a few months now, and every single time I watch something, I’m completely blown away. I live in a small studio with very limited space, and even though this tv is double the size of my last one, this one takes up significantly less space as it sits flush with the wall. I can even watch it from my bed at a sharp angle and can still enjoy it. Xbox series x games look truly next gen. Lush colors and black blacks. Buy this panel. you won’t regret it for a second.
