The rear speakers provide great sound clarity, and the Dolby Atmos feature fills the room with immersive audio.

Good soundbar but app needs work

First, let me get this out of the way. The soundbar sounds really nice. I have been using it now for over a week and it does a great job on all the content I have used thus far. Having a high end home theater setup as well I was pleasantly surprised of how well it performs for a soundbar. Build quality is also very good and solid. I would prefer it were metal instead of plastic but it still feels nice and solid. Something I don't care for is the mesh material on the soundbar, sub, and surrounds. Dust over time could be an issue along with pets possibly. This is no different however form many speaker grills. Overall though I think most will find the quality very nice and solid.
Now for the not so great part. The LG Soundbar app is where I found most of my complaints and issues. First, owning several LG products I was disappointed to find you had to use a different app instead of the LG ThinQ App. Why have so many products in one app LG including your TV's yet have a different app for the soundbar only? This could easily be added to the LG ThinQ app and avoid the need for another setup. Besides the app I found the tone controls to be basic. Basically Treble and Bass sliders only for tone. It would be great to offer a full EQ option if preferred as well. To be fair LG is not alone with tone options in soundbars so not a big deal. The real issue for me however is linking to Alexa from the app. No other app, service, or device I own have had this issue when linking to Alexa. All updates on my phone and soundbar are up-to-date so that shouldn't be a problem. It seems to be an issue around security with multi-factor authentication like a parameter is not being passed properly between the services but not sure at this point. I have looked through the forums and online but haven't found a solution so far. Could be something I have setup for security in Alexa but again not sure. Regardless it seems only to be with this app. That being said, as good as this soundbar sounds I will still return it if I'm unable to resolve the Alexa issue before the return date deadline. After all, I want all the features to work even if it is just the Alexa link.

More than a sound bar, still not an AV receiver

I've normally kept to 5.1-7.1 systems due to speaker location being better in my option than virtual sound that does not work as well if you have the habit of turning your head to "target" sound source location. But with the rear surround speakers this sound bar does really good. I currently have the main bar below my old LG OLED 3D UHD curved display and they pair really nice. The older display does not have the newer processor to support some of the enhanced audio featured found when pairing this sound bar with the latest LG TVs. But none of the current displays have the same features of my old one, so no plans to update until it stops working and I cannot get parts to repair it.
My value rating is based on my open box price, MSRP would not be 5 stars.
Having an OSD would have likely given ease of use 5 stars, but the remote and on bar controls are not the easiest to work with, App on the phone is a requirement, to make ease of use good, but getting that connected and working is not easy and following the directions from LG does not appear to work after you install the sound bar update, I had to search online to find workarounds to get that connection working, on Android connect the speakers in the Home app first, then the LG app can connect.
One gripe is that I have my computer connected via optical cable and set to 24/192 output. Every so often the audio just stops for no reason, I look on the app, the speakers are still on with the correct input selected. To get the audio back I just switch to another input and back to ARC/Optical and the sound returns. My guess is that even with the TV in stand by it will randomly ping the speakers to see if the are connected and the speakers switch to the ARC mode but after the check is done does not fall back to optical until you switch back from another source while it sees no ARC signal.
I would have liked more inputs, to support my system I'm using an HDMI switcher on the HDMI 2 input to the speakers.
I'd recommend them if you can get them for less than $1,000, or is you are totally against running speaker wires for surround channels. Going over the $1000 price you can get a decent receiver with more input options and dedicated channels that sound as good or a little better. At MSRP, if don't see much value at all, but I'm use to AV receiver and the work needed to set them up.
This sound bar I plan to use in a second TV area, my primary will remain with a dedicated surround sound AV receiver and discreet channels.

my room is 25 by 14 and sounds pretty good gets loud and hear things I haunt heard before behind and in front of me. I have a lg77c1 works together pretty good 99 percent of the time be sure and have a 2.1 HDMI cable i got best buy brand certified cheap 14.99 and download the app much easier to change things. LG doesn't give good instructions on set up so have to play around. I found a good article on reddit. with all that still a little pricey even on sale. I'm thinking 600 to 700 at most but sounds great

Even better than Sonos Arc! We tried three different sound bars and this is the only one that stayed connected. Offers incredible sound quality. Easy to operate. Great rear speaker kit, too! Love the AI Mode. It chooses the best sound based on your room.

The sound is very impressive. Deep bass when needed and great high definition audio. You can hear voices clear and feel the movie. The wireless speakers( other than a power cord) have 0(zero) noticable lag. This theater system is every bit as good as my Bose. The only down side is that I was a tad bit frustrated getting the new LG sound bar to communicate with my LG TV. Customer support helped and now they are seamless.

I got these on an excellent condition return for $600. At that price these are absolutely fabulous. My wife says they sound way better than anything else we've had before which is the biggest approval in our house.
I wouldn't pay full price for them but I'm not sure I'd pay that price for any audio system. If you can get them under $1000 I think they're a steal especially if you have an LG tv and can use WOWOrchestra.
Dialogue is very clear. Surround sound sounds good but the real shine is with Dolby Atmos where you are encased in audio.
The only issue I had was getting them linked to the LG sound bar app after doing a firmware update. This was easily resolved by adding them to Google Home then doing the LG app setup.

We where very skeptical for the price, wow is all I can say no pun intended. We paired with lg oled with the Wow Orchestra. We had bought a sony oled and soundbar about 6 months earlier. No complaints but to get the same sound on the sony would have had to spend twice as much. Not knocking sony just more bang for the buck.

I have been a loyal LG fan for some years now, they just make the best TVs and excellent sound systems. I upgraded to this system recently and find the sound to be crisp. There is a bit of a learning curve with the app as you need to go into the settings to turn on surround sound, other wise it's simple to use.
The sound quality is incredible - super loud, great bass, excellent levels. Your mind will be blown listening to Dolby DTS sound in your home.
My only issue is that the remote has stopped working no matter how many new batteries I put in it. It seems to think I'm holding down buttons when I'm not, which means pressing volume up or down makes the volume plummet all the way up or all the way down. It also doesn't let me consistently use the menu buttons or power button. I can't find a replacement remote online, so I'm at a loss on how to fix this.

Decided to upgrade my aging LG SK10Y, which is a good soundbar but had considerable issues with dialogue. I read mixed reviews about this new system online and had concerns that possible dialogue issues would persist. I decided to give it a shot anyway and I'm really glad I did! This system is a MAJOR upgrade from the SK10Y! The bass is booming and the soundbar produces incredible sound that completely envelops the room. Zero issues with dialogue and multiple sound presets depending on viewing content. There is also an AI option to optimize sound based on you room parameters. Overall, I am extremely happy and satisfied with this purchase.

Just leveled up my gaming world with the LG 65" C3 OLED, Xbox Series X, and the LG 9.1.5 Channel Soundbar from Best Buy. The OLED display delivers jaw-dropping visuals, and when paired with the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X magic of the soundbar, it's pure gaming nirvana. Explosions boom, footsteps echo, and the immersion is next-level. Setting up the soundbar with this combo was seamless, and now my living room is a gaming paradise. If you're serious about gaming, this trio is a game-changer. 5/5 all the way!

Great system. Very pleased with everything after buying this system. It was packaged really well and setup was a breeze. We purchased this system to replace a component set in the basement and I’m wishing we would have done it sooner. We love the sound the system puts out and watch movies about 4 night a week now. The system produces rich full sound that the hole family enjoys.

I upgraded from an Lg sp9ya with rear speaker kit to this S95QR. The difference was immediately noticeable to me especially HD audio such as atmos and the brightness and depth of the audio was much improved. I use cinema mode which comes pretty close to my denon avr i have in my living room. Setup was easy and straight forward and the app allows one to configure the device and even includes ai room calibration. No regrets on this purchase.

I purchased this unit with the intention to replace one of my Sony sound bar and rear speaker systems. This particular model has issues playing videos or demos from YouTube through all speakers. You have to do a pass through from your TV and then choose surround sound, and then it comes out with the same sound out of all speakers with a terrible tinny sound. After doing some research online, I realize that other people have the same problem. As you go from movie to demos to TV show shows, I find myself having to fiddle with the settings to get a good sound. It’s not consistent across the board like my Sony systems are. I’m a little disappointed due to the fact that this is a flagship sound bar. Once you get the sound adjusted the way you want it for whatever you’re watching it does sound pretty good. But it’s a lot of work and constant changing on the app to get the sound right . I’m not totally dissatisfied with my purchase, but I don’t know if I would recommend it over other options out there like the Samsung s990c or d.

Great soundbar, excellent atmospheric effects on Dolby Atmos. I had some audio dropouts when my devices were connected via eArc to the TV; when I connect the sources directly to the soundbar, the dropouts resolved. I'm ordering some better HDMI cables to see if I can get eArc working right.
