Amazing concept display come to life

This display is absolutely fantastic. As others have stated it gets brighter than the C2 thanks to the true evo panel and the picture quality is amazing.
PROS:
---------
Excellent Picture quality, brighter than the C2 thanks to the proper evo panel like the G2.
Also helping with the PQ is the glossy screen with their AR coating which gives all the pop of a glossy OLED like the C2 without the matte finish people complained about on some of the other OLED monitors
The ability to curve, this happens very quickly and is cool to see. For me when sitting this close for gaming or productivity work, I strongly prefer a curve. At this point after coming from a G9 Neo, a large flat screen at this distance seems almost convex to me. I'd be fine with it simply staying curved, but it's a neat trick and I do enjoy going back to flat if I want to lean back and watch TV
I have only tried a few other OLED for productivity the Asus 42 and the LGs own ultragear 48 and to me, text here seems very passible and probably the best of the bunch. There's still some minor fringing on things like the stars on this review and the best buy logo, but of the OLEDS I've tried Id say the least noticeable
Smart TV functions work well, a single well thought out remote as opposed to multiple that were found on the ARK
Looks like a high-end monitor - minor I know, but to me since my desk does not face the wall, I appreciate the aesthetics and prefer that it doesn't look like I just have a TV sitting on my desk but a proper monitor
Because of said stand, adjustability is good, to me the lowest height setting is about perfect, unlike the Samsung ARK that I simply couldn't get low enough for its size leaving the top of the screen out of view
NEGATIVE:
---------------
It's very expensive. At 2.5x the current sale price of a C2 42" OLED the price is hard to swallow, however, given its the only curved OLED of its kind on the market at the moment for me it is worth it. YMMV
No display port. I understand that HDMI 2.1 has higher bandwidth than DP 1.4, and that's fine for my PC, however when using both a mac and PC, DP is always helpful as OSX artificially limits any HDMI connection to 2.0 spec even when using a thunderbolt to HDMI 2.1 adapter.
Not necessarily negative, but I do worry about its longevity, both due to burn in thanks to the OLED tech and its motor functionality if it's moving back and forth multiple times a day. Especially given that it goes flat every time its powered off.
Overall, very happy with the purchase despite the price and think this will be my new long-term monitor for as long as it does last!

A Stunning Display with a Flexible Twist!

The LG OLED FLEX is truly something special with its awesome display options. It’s got this cool flexible design that lets you adjust the screen just the way you like it, giving you a whole new level of immersion when you’re watching stuff.
The picture quality is simply mind-blowing, with vibrant colors, deep blacks, and incredible contrast that make everything look so lifelike. And guess what? It’s got a high refresh rate of 120Hz, which means super-smooth motion that’s perfect for gaming and action-packed scenes.
But, here’s the thing – if you want to make the most of that 120Hz goodness, you’ll need an HDMI cable that supports it. They don’t include one in the box, unfortunately. But no worries, Belkin’s got you covered with a compatible cable, so you can enjoy every bit of that high refresh rate goodness.
Apart from the HDMI thing, the LG OLED FLEX rocks. The audio is fantastic too, thanks to Dolby Atmos support. It’s like you’re right in the middle of the action with that surround sound experience.
Sure, it might be a bit pricey, but trust me, it’s worth every penny. This TV is a game-changer, and you’ll love every second you spend watching your favorite movies, playing games, or just chilling with some shows.
So, yeah, if you’re willing to get that HDMI cable, go for it – the LG OLED FLEX is a top-notch choice for a truly premium home theater experience that’ll blow you away!

This display is amazing. I am specifically using it with my Desktop PC for gaming and it has not failed, only delivered. I was a bit skeptical because there aren’t many reviews online from my “Trusted Tech Tubers” and reviews here are just pictures. This monitor is worth every penny. You can use it as an 42” TV or dial in the curve and get submerged into yoir favortie game at 120Hz. The LG ThinQ App is a plus to navigate your monitor. I barely use the remote. The only thing that made me slightly nervous was the weight of the Display. It is heavy. So find the place you want to put and let it be. Even myself using it on my desk, it is tough to slide the Display forward or back.

I have purchased this LG FLEX 42” TV to replace a still working 2006 Viewsonic 32” TV, so that I will be able to stream more easily with a smart capability. The LG 55” TV, that I had purchased in December 2009, prior to the smart TV offerings, is still working, so I decided to replace the smaller set first. The cable TV company is in the process of converting from cable box TV listings to a streaming service, so it is time to upgrade for the changing technology. This LG FLEX 42” TV has a great picture, which is enhanced by the ability to curve for a wrap around watching experience. It is an outstanding choice for using as a computer monitor, so that I may sit further back away from the screen, as well as gaming, while sitting in a comfortable chair.

Let's start by saying wow! Everything I could ask for and more. Makes gaming way more immersive. OLED screen just pops, and I can only imagine where technology will be in the future. Never knew I needed this, but now gaming is that much better. I bought this on sale so it made me feel better about the purchase. Even then I realize I would have paid full price and been happy. Thankyou Bestbuy I am truly enjoying this purchase and then some!

The Monitor We Love with some Flex!

I use this as a monitor, so the ability to flex the screen works great! The monitor looks great as you would expect from an OLED and the additional game-related in-screen resizing functions are great even if used in desktop PC mode. I can't say it's the best value for the buck since you can get a 42-inch C3 for 899, but at the same time, you're paying for flex, the stand connections, and a few other features. The only thing I don't like is that it automatically goes back to the flat screen when the monitor is turned off. Also, using the remote control can get a little tricky when you have another LG monitor in the room. Overall, I really like the monitor and catching on sale at 1999 makes igt a better value.

To be honest, for those who are wearing glasses, it is very uncomfortable to use flat display with diagonal more than 32 inches due to optical distortion from the the glasses, having curved display fixed the issue.
In this category, especially considering picture quality, perfect HDR and compatibility with gaming consoles, there are no competitors to this display/TV.
I use it with maximum curve every day for work (sw development) and entertainment.
Also, internal Mic is pretty good for voice calls.
Brightness, however, might not be enough for those who prefer bright color scheme and sitting in very bright room.
There is no issue if you are using dark scheme, even in very bright environment as bright text on dark background going way brighter than ~300 nits display can provide with white color at full screen
As a small concern: you have to turn it off at least once per 24 hours for at least 5 minutes to run internal calibration. If you skip this it will show warning message suggesting to do so.
Hint for PC Users: As it can't automatically turn on by signal from PC, you can disable shutting down display due to inactivity and setup blank screensaver to protect display and save some power while you are not using PC.

Defective unit - display curve motor failure!

Received my LG OLED FLEX on 25 November. The box is huge and requires two people to carry. Everything appeared to be okay during the unpacking and initial setup. There was a software update immediately detected (03.21.30) after I setup the WiFi network connection. I have an LG OLED C2 42" as well and the display on the LG FLEX is noticeably brighter. My guess is at least 100-200 nits brighter. I was quite pleased by this as there are no official tech reviews for this panel yet. LG states it is the true Evo panel from the G series. After seeing it in person, I'm a believer. After everything was set up, I decided to test out the curve adjustment function. Immediately heard a loud grinding noise and the screen began to curve inward to the default 50% curve. But then that's where the problems began. When I attempted to return it to flat, it malfunctioned. Again, the motor emitted a loud grinding noise and the screen failed to return to the flat mode. An error then appeared on the screen stating, "An error occurred while adjusting the curvature. Please contact LG service center. I contacted them via live chat on the LG support website and after about 40 minutes chatting with them and sending them pics and some short movie clips of the issue occurring, they said they would get back with me in 3-5 business days. I decided that this is not something that can be fixed locally by a repair man, so have submitted a return through Amazon. I have a second one on order and will update this review with a better rating if it is received without any problems. Bottom line, for $2500 (plus taxes) I expect to receive a perfect product without any issues. This is clearly a failure of LG's quality control process at the factory. I can NOT recommend this TV at this time.

I'll start by saying I like a lot of things about the LG OLED Flex TV. I transitioned from the LG 48" OLED gaming monitor to this solely for the curved option. I also use this solely for computer related uses such as gaming and work. The size is more suitable for me than the 48", and the curved setting makes a world of difference in my opinion. I do wish it were a gaming monitor for the quality of life features such as turning on with my PC, staying curved all the time (I have no need for the flat setting), and the built-in crosshair.
Alright, now the issue.. As I type this, the screen is flickering from what appears to be a HDMI port issue. I purchased this open-box excellent to save a little bit as I have Total Tech from Best Buy. However, it looks like I will need to return it and try my luck with a new one. I like the Flex and since my wife has laid claim to my 48", I will have to try until I get a good working unit.
I won't say I do or don't recommend as it's an expensive item with an issue within the first month, but I spend 12+ hours a day at my PC so the expense is worth it as long as I can get a working unit. Hope this helps.

Not worth the price at 2000 or 1600. It dropped to on Christmas Eve $600 and Best Buy refused to price match me. So I returned it because unlike the Samsung Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen it cannot function with 2 hdmi ports simultaneously while one is a console. Cannot run a firestick with console. Just basically pc stuff or YouTube unless you still have a coaxial cable to screw into the back. Yeah I said coaxial

Quality control issues

The technology on this TV is pretty cool and is great to be used as a monitor or gaming on the PS5. Only issue I have with this display is that using the flex feature appears to have left a slight curve on the display even when it is set to flat or powered off. Not sure if this happens to all displays or is just a defect on my unit.

Item is very good. LG OLED's are always great quality BUT I didn't use the "flex" the last 2 nights before I returned this item which let me know that the "folding" feature wasn't very important. If a 900r curve is important to you get it. It wasn't as important as a great picture so I went with a cheaper LG OLED

I bought this to use as a monitor for my gaming desktop and actually replaced my Alienware 34 inch OLED. I had doubts on the practicality and already coming from a decent OLED monitor but I have no regrets. Gsync and 120hz work great with my rtx 3080 and gaming on this has been great. It’s amazing for content consumption and the height adjustments are wonderful. If you want to consolidate your gaming setup or primarily play with a controller then this the TV for you.
