Love my G Watch R. Originally purchase a moto 360 until I read about the flat tire situation on the bottom of the screen and antiquated processor inside; then returned it unopened. Works well as a time piece and notification center. If you purchase understanding the limitations of current smart watch technology due to its infancy you won't be disappointed. The guts and display of the G Watch R are as good or better than everything out there right now. 2 days battery life.

Battery life is over 2 days for me. Pretty good, but all week would be awesome. Better than my Galaxy S4 phone. Bright clear display. Good watch face options especially when you get an app like Facer. To me, buying a $300 watch should include a $300 caliber band. A black stainless band should be the standard. I gave it 4 stars because of the band and battery life.

Best Smart watch on the market

I am rating the LG R 5 stars because it's the best smart watch on the market. That isn't to say it doesn't have a flaw or two. Hardware: It lasts a full 2 days and charges really quickly. I usually just charge it for about 15 minutes every morning. I really like the fact that it looks like a regular watch when the screen is off. And like that I can put any band I want on the device. I recently switched it out for a rubber sport style band with a nice metal clasp. Cost for the band was just $8. Software: I do really like that all notifications go to the watch not just ones with specific apps. And I really appreciate that you can choose apps to block from notifications. I don't understand google decision to default to the phone for step counts when they are connected. I will leave my phone on my table when I am walking around and it ends up counting 0 steps. Same is true when I run on the treadmill. There are a lot of people complaining about that so I see them fixing it soon. And I think it would be a really nice to be able to have the heart rate monitor periodically check your heart rate. Say every 6 hours. Also wish it had stair count and sleep tracking. All in all I do recommend the watch. The software issues that I see will most likely get fixed in future releases. And the only hardware change that would be really great to have is a battery that lasts a week. But I don't see that coming for a number of years.

For me this is not what I am after. I’ll echo a little bit what others have said. It looks like an average affordable ($50) watch. It seems very well constructed and I expect it would last for some time. The screen is bright and clear, and I was able to get more than a day’s use per charge. I guess what fell short for me is the usefulness in day to day activities. I tried it for 3 days and ultimately decided to return it. What I Liked: - Receiving Notices of Texts, Calls, Alerts (cards). - Heart Rate Monitor (reading about 10% high compared to a professional grade blood pressure reader which it pretty good I think) - Easy to use / bright display - Band was comfortable and lightweight (but ugly to me) - Good Responsiveness - Good Battery Life What I did not like: - Instead of looking like a good quality watch, it looks rather cheap (like a teenager’s first watch). At least is looks like “real” watch instead of all the other ones out there. - Android Wear Cards (can’t customize, can’t control what shows up) - Most of the faces are bright and somewhat cartoonish. - Most of the time the watch only shows limited information forcing you back to the phone. Example; “OK Google, when is the next showing of The Hobbit”. This should easily come up on the watch, but instead I only get “open on device”. Similar results with many other requests - Can’t plug it in and used it as an always on night clock (it goes 100% dark while on the charger) - Can’t change the color of Cards, would prefer Black Background and white letters for more discrete viewing (example in a movie). The white it too bright. (This is an Android Wear problem, not the watch) - The Step Monitor is way off. I get better results from the phone than the watch. The watch is off by a factor of about 10X compared to my phone in my pocket or my wife’s Fitbit. - I really struggled to get the screens I wanted. For example if Runtastic was in “pause” mode I could not get that card off of my face until I restarted Runtastic. Often I would swipe a card away and it would just come back or open up full screen. I assume with more use I would learn the commands better. - The Band is fine, but nothing special, and it is a little hard to get on/off. At least it can be replaced with other commercial bands. Summary, I would say the problems are 80% Google Wear vs. the Watch. I assume after some time the kinks will be worked out and it will be more useful. But by that time there should also be more choices on the market, and maybe some that are more attractive or more features. I still think this is the best watch out there today based on Android Wear. If it was super attractive I might keep it. If it was super functional I might keep it, but as it is neither I will return it.

Pros: - good battery life (usually two full days) - nice looking (but not as nice as the Moto 360) - screen is very sharp - "Always on" mode. It looks like a real watch even when you're not looking at it Cons: - No light sensor, so it must be manually adjusted occasionally, especially at night - doesn't always "wake up" from ambient mode when you life up your wrist to issue voice commands

If you can afford the money, this is a fantastic watch. Battery life continues to be great. I have a ton of notifications, leave the screen on 100% of the time and use it to play music throughout the day. I take it off the charger at 7am and return it to the charger at 11pm. It normally has 30% or more battery life left. I would imagine I could get 2 or more days if I turned the screen off and turned off some of the notifications.

I'm a female working in a lab and being able to use features like the timer for my experiments without having to touch it (with my gloved, chemical covered hands) is very handy. It's very good looking, and I get compliments from women all the time who think it's just a normal big watch style. It has good battery life, I just charge it when I go to bed; it's comfortable, and it's just so useful! In lab I can see game scores of my favorite teams or check the weather without having to pull out my phone in front of my boss!

I have spent about a month researching the smart watch market, including all the information available about the Apple phone, and this watch has by far beaten all of them out. It's round and I can put any face on it that I want. It will warn me when I forgot my phone. It takes "OK Google" commands and the battery lasts a long time. What else do you want from a smart watch?

I love the round design and look of the watch. It's very comfortable and easy to swap out bands. The watch sometimes disconnects when not used for a while, but it's only a minor inconvenience. Very sleek look and functions great for notifications and alerts without the need to look at the actual phone. Very impressed and happy with the purchase.

The round screen is a big improvement over the original square G Watch both in resolution and brightness. Easily visible in direct sunlight. Battery life is also greatly improved lasting up to 2 and half days depending on usage.

I was not looking to buy a smart watch originally, but got interested as I researched activity monitors for my wife. I was impressed with on wrist notifications as well as step counter and heart rate monitor. If I were a fitness nut, I don't think this would have been my first choice, but I'm glad it tells me at least an idea of how active I've been. It does have a few glitches. First, it won't tell how many steps I had yesterday on the week summary. It shows all the other days, and by the next day the data shows ( for 2 days past). Not a big deal to me, since this is not my primary use. Second, I'm not too impressed with the battery life. Most days, it is about 30 to 40 % remaining at the end of day, so I get a full day, but I could not get two. If it is longer than other devices, then I couldn't stand them. The altitude is hard to set as is the compass to calibrate. Games and apps are a bit limited, but I think these will grow as the product becomes more widely used. Quirks aside, overall, I am very pleased with my LG G watch R and look forward to more apps. I love text and email alerts, weather, Google searches and the convenience it gives me to not always have to pull my phone out. I get a lot of people asking about it and complementing how cool it is. I think the next year will see a lot of growth in this product. For now I would say this is the best option.

Unfortunately, the watch is not the ideal product when it comes to public transportation. It lacks the device that would make the conversation private. When driving, though, it is an ideal piece.

I already had a Gear Live and decided to invest in a round face watch. The Motorola seemed to cheap and uncomfortable. The LG is perfect for what I was wanting. Voice commands are so easy with the LG.

Pretty nice watch but the plastic screen and stiff leather band make it difficult to justify the price. I returned it and purchased the Moto 360 instead because I really enjoy Android Wear.

I didn't love the price. It was just to limited to cost that much. I do plan on getting another one eventually or maybe even this watch again but when the price comes down. I would suggest this watch to a friend just not at this price.

When I decided to buy an Android watch, I really wanted one that looked and felt like a regular watch but with the features of an Android watch. This watch met my needs perfectly. It feels just like my old watch, but I can say "OK Google" and send texts or make calls. It interfaces seamlessly with my Samsung Note 3 and Android Wear. Looks great, and never had a problem with it.

I bought this for my husband who is a gadget freak. I was worried it would be one of those things he used for awhile then put away. I hate to waste money. Except for bathing, he hasnt taken the watch off, and he loves to show it off to his friends. Gold star for me!
