I seem to go through the slim CD/DVD players. They sit on top of my desktop, but for some reason the little ones do not last. They would be great if I had a laptop, where weight and space is a premium. But for something that sits on my desk waiting until I use it the next time, this is much better, it is well made, and it works flawlessly so far...

My super game computer did not come with a dvd internal drive, so I picked this one up. The drive was very easy to set up and functions like a charm. Allows the computer to use less internal power because you only turn this one on when you need it.

Works just fine in conjunction with the internal Blu Ray Disk player on my Computer. Ease to install, sufficiently quick in formating, and is easily seen by the computer programs used, such as Itunes, and thus I am able to use it separately or in cooperation with the internal Blu Ray Disc Player Recorder.

I bought a new iMac in 2015, and, since they no longer have a built-in CD/DVD drive, bought Apple's external drive. I hated it, and decided to shop for a replacement. After looking over the choices at the local Best Buy store, I selected the LG model. The Apple unit had given me lots of problems, including taking several hours to copy a standard CD into iTunes, and not doing a good job at burning dual-layer DVDs. I thought the LG might do better, partly because of using its own power source instead of taking power through the USB drive. I've been extremely happy with the LG burner, which has solved all of the problems I was having with the Apple drive. I used a similar CD drive from a different manufacturer 15 years ago. It's too bad Apple has forced me into old technology from another brand, but it works great!

I bought this with the intentions of increasing my recording capacity and boy was I glad. I have an older computer with a slower burner and wow huge difference. Easy set.

I purchased this item based on past experience. It is solidly built and easy to install. Packaging is very good. It includes everything need to install this product. All you need is an extra USB port. My past experience makes me believe that you will get years of carefree use without problems.

I enjoy making music CDs and DVDs With my old external reader I was having a lot of trouble recording movies that where longer than 2 hours it would often have errors because it was just too slow. This CD DVD burner is really fast making my project much easier to do

My PC Case has a design that is poor for an internal DVD drive. After much searching I gave up. I found this very well priced external drive which fits perfectly with my computer desk. It runs very well, is quiet and burns without fail. Highly recommended.

Purchased a computer without a Bluray/dvd. Only needed DVD player to put some old programs back on the computer. This one works well, just a little larger than most others. If all you need it for is to read DVDs it does just fine. I have not had to write a DVD yet, so can't rate that side of it.

Nowadays it somewhat difficult to find an external DVD unit, especially one that is Affordable. The quality is good, it works well. Software is included, but it's not necessary. With a good quality DVD, I found good and reliable writes.
