The LG Tone Free true wireless ear buds are a great addition to my daily routine.
The first thing you'll notice when opening the box is that the charging case is tiny. This has to be one of the smallest charging cases on the market and it packs a punch!
Not only does it store the earbuds, and charge them, it also cleans the earbuds using UVNANO technology. A 10 minute UV cleaning cycle happens any time that the charging case is plugged into a USB outlet. UVNANO cleaning is able to kill up to 99.9% of bacteria that can be found on the ear gels, but also the little speaker grill inside.
And talking of charging, not only can you plug it in using the included USB-C charging cable, but it also has wireless charging capabilities, by placing it in the center of a wireless charging pad, or even from a phone that offers reverse charging! Crazy tech, just in the case alone! The case holds a further two 6 hour charges (a total of 18 hours) for the earbuds, and can be fast charged for 5 mins to provide another hour of life for the earbuds! NOTE: The UVNANO cleaning DOES NOT happen when wireless charging.
On to the earbuds themselves. In collaboration with the British audio company Meridian, and their Advanced Audio Technology, they've given a broad listening scope to these tiny earbuds. The sound will not blow your ears off with bass, but there is a full, rich sound field that comes across with everything from podcasts to The Prodigy!
Using the LG Tone app, you can fine tune the earbuds, find their location, check on charge state and adjust how the ambient sound mode, and tap sequences work.
Placing the earbuds in your ear is simple. When you open the case, they have a cool ambient light that glows around them (separate to the UVNANO cleaning light mentioned earlier!) They are lightweight, and very comfortable. I've worn them all day at work without any discomfort at all. Bluetooth range is fantastic, they maintained a solid connection with my phone, left on my desk, walking around the office, which previous earbuds have not achieved. In these trying times, the earbuds are perfect when wearing a mask, no wires to get caught up, or in the way. The control over the volume is smart and smooth, with well defined sound levels in between each press of the earbud. There are wear sensors built into the earbuds, they know when they are in your ear and play your sound source. When you remove them from your ear, they will pause the sound, and then restart the sound when placed back in your ear. If you remove just one bud, the sound is still available in the bud left in your ear. Nice, smart, sound! In real world application, they held battery life well throughout the day. Lasted as long as it says it should in the directions.
The earbuds are also IPX4 water and sweat resistant, so are ideal for workouts or time at the gym. I found the ear gels to be very comfortable and held the buds in place well. Also tested with my wife and son, and they had no issues with them either. The headphones have a dual microphone set up, so they work very well when making and taking voice calls. Music turned off and the caller was clear and crisp. Really nice quality.
Controlling the earbuds is a little challenging to start with. I found that as I was pressing the buds into my ear, I would pause and play the music a couple of times as I pressed them in. They are controlled with inductive taps on the outside of each bud. Typical steps are one tap to play, one tap to stop on either bud. Two taps on the left one to decrease the volume, two taps on the right one to increase the volume. Three taps on the left or right one to advance to the next track. That is where we had some challenges and actually gave up, but not a deal breaker at all. To take or end a call, tap on the left or right bud once. And to reject a call, touch and hold either bud.
The touch pads are really quite sensitive, but with a little practice, they work well and are very responsive.
Overall, very happy with the LG Tone Free true wireless buds, they are small, lightweight with a fully functioning charging case (which almost steals the show here) with good battery life, great bluetooth connectivity and the robust and useful LG Tone companion app. Just keep an eye on that charging case, at only 2" wide, it could go missing!
If I had one complaint, it would be this: The ear buds are black. The charging case is black. And the USB-C cable is white. Don't know why they wouldn't ship with a black USB-C cable to complete the look, but that is a very, minor complaint!

The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6, available in choice of black or white, are beautifully sculpted in a rich, high gloss finish. You will not find better looking true wireless earbuds at any price.
Featuring the latest Bluetooth 5.0, they can operate at an incredible long distance from your music source, as well as feature a very generous battery life. Plus, they simply do not drop the signal. You have solid music for 6 hrs & 2) recharges by using the included charging carry case.
The carrying case can be charged by the included USB-C cable, or simply charged wirelessly. This case is made from hypoallergenic silicon, which is a welcome feature during this Pandemic. I charged them initially using the USB-C cable, then topped them off wirelessly on my Belkin charger that is designed to charge the iPhone, Apple Watch & Wireless Ear Buds simultaneously.
The built-in equalizer by Meridian has several useful presets. I created a custom curve (see photo) in order to boost the subdued bass & to accentuate high frequencies. The bass is weak if you do not boost it with the equalizer. Ambient sound can be added in any desired quantity using a slider on the app & can be switched off / on directly by touching the earbud. I love how the app allows user adjustment to both the right & left earbuds independently. Touching either Right or Left earbud 1, 2 or 3 times can be user set to a wide variety of options with each touch.
Telephone calls are easy to connect & are clear & easy to understand for both parties.
CONCLUSION: The LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 packs everything you would want in state-of-the-art wireless earbuds. Use the equalizer to boost the bass to achieve performance that matches the stellar looks.
Highly Recommended.

The LG TONE Free Wireless Stereo Earbuds come in a compact box. There is an image of the earbuds on the cover. The back of the box includes an image of earbuds in the charging case and a list of what’s included in the package. The side of the box includes some of the main features including: MERIDIAN Advanced Audio Technology, Clear Voice Call Quality with Dual Microphones, Wireless Charging Case, Fast Charging (5 minutes for 60 minutes of playtime), IPX4 Water and Sweat Resistant, and Playtime Earbuds 6 hours/18 hours with the charging case.
When you open the box, you will find the charging case with the word “TONE” stamped on the top. TONE describes a line of audio products from LG. The LG TONE Free is one of the products in that family. Since the earbuds ship inside their charging case, they come pre-charged and ready to use out of the box. In order to activate the earbuds, you have to open the case and press the pairing button (located on the side of the case) for 3-5 seconds until the LED on the front blinks. Then you look for the device in your Bluetooth menu (LG HBS-FN6) and select it. For me, I connected the earbuds to my iPhone and turned on some music on Apple Music. I typically judge earbuds in three areas: comfort, sound quality, and functionality/features.
COMFORT: The earbuds are very lightweight. According to the product specs, they only weigh 1.38 ounces (that’s 0.23 ounces lighter than Apple AirPods Pro). The earbuds come with three sets of ear gels - small, medium, and large - with the medium ones already installed. The majority of the time I will immediately swap out the ear gels for a smaller size, but this time, I tried on the earbuds with the default ones in place. The fit was ok, but it wasn’t perfect. In my experience, if you don’t have just the right fit, the sound quality is effected as well as the comfort. Since I thought the earbuds didn’t fit as good as they could, I replaced the medium ear gels with the smalls, and was able to get a much more stable, secure fit. I’ve not felt as though the earbuds might fall out of my ears in fact, I haven’t even felt them shift as I’ve been using them. Even though they have a tight fit, they aren’t too tight and I haven’t noticed a vacuum effect like I get with a lot of earbuds. I did get to a point (after a couple of hours of continuous use) where I wanted to take a break from using these earbuds and switch to a different style (one that doesn’t have ear gels).
SOUND QUALITY: As I mentioned above, fit effects sound quality. At first, I would have rated these earbuds with a solid 2-stars for sound quality because with the medium ear gels, the earbuds didn’t fit far enough into my ear canal or have a tight enough fit to seal sound into my ears. Therefore, sound was quite hollow and there was a bad echo. After I switched the ear gels though, I was much happier and bump the star rating up to a 4 for sound. They still aren’t perfect in my mind because the bass depth just isn’t there (at least not enough for me). That said, sound - no matter where it’s coming from - has been incredibly clear and the earbuds have a powerful volume. They do not have Active Noise Cancelling, but they isolate ambient noise quite well. Because of that, LG included an Ambient Noise feature that allows you to hear noise more clearly around you. I tested this feature out by typing for a little while with the filter turned on and then I turned it off. The thing I noticed the most was the sound from my mechanical keyboard. It’s not a 100% sound buffer and the earbuds still block some ambient noise even with the filter turned off, but with the filter turned on, I can’t hear the clicks from the keyboard. With it turned off, I can. It’s actually one of the best ambient sound filters I’ve experienced because the sound quality/volume of the music you are listening to is barely effected by the filter. All it does is block or unblock sound.
FUNCTIONALITY/FEATURES: The LG TONE Free earbuds work vey well. I’ve not had any issues with connectivity or staying connected to the earbuds. The touch controls are intuitive and fairly responsive. I think one of the best features that the earbuds have is the wireless charging case as well as the UVnano cleaning feature of the case. I don’t have a way to test how clean the earbuds get using the charging case, but given the fact that the case uses UV light to sanitize the earbuds is refreshing.
The LG TONE Free Wireless earbuds are an incredible option for people on the go. With the exception of bass depth being subpar (you can hear bass, but it’s not as strong I would prefer), these earbuds are pretty much perfect in my mind. I didn’t have any major issues with them and they come with some interesting features that you don’t typically find on earbuds.

The headphones I have been searching for and more

These are the wireless earbuds that you have been looking for. I’ve had these earbuds for a couple of weeks now and they have become my new favorite pair of headphones. My use cases are for exercising, web meetings, watching TV/movies on my tablet, and of course just listening to music. I will try to keep this review short, however there are just so many great features that I want to share.
Some of the reasons these have now become my primary headphones is that they are light, fit comfortably in my ears and stay in my ears when exercising. The IPX4 helps protect them from sweat while running in the hot and humid Texas weather. The wireless charging case is handy as I can walk in the door and just drop them on one of my wireless charging pads. There are magnets in the case to help with alignment of the headphones in the case. The microphones work well. I have been using them for daily web calls and they have been flawless. The people on the other side said I sounded good.
I really like the sound profile. Initially I wasn’t sure about the sound of the headphones, but I downloaded the LG Tone app on my phone and I was able to adjust the EQ from one of the preset ones. This made a big difference in the audio quality. Speaking on the LG Tone app, it is great to see all the customization options for the touch controls. For example, you can set the right bud to volume up and the left bud to volume down. You can further customize each earbud based on the number of taps (1, 2, or 3). The earbud touch sensitivity is perfect. With some of my other headphones I have to tap multiple times or press longer/harder to get the touch to register. With these the tap was registered immediately, even with sweaty fingers.
So far, the sound quality, battery life, ease of pairing, and performance of these headphones has been amazing. Also, worth noting that the charging case includes a UV light that helps disinfect the earbuds while they are in the case. This is a pretty cool feature. **I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review** #LGTONEFreeInsiders

Comfortable and Well Made

First of all, these are light, comfortable and well made buds. All I care about when I buy a new set of headphones are 1. wearing comfort 2. great sound 3. features The LG Tone free HBS-FN6 delivered all of the above and even more.
Pairing with my LG V60 was a breeze, just open the charging case and a box pops up asking you whether you want to add these to your Bluetooth devices. It also prompted me to download the companion app called Tone Free which I highly recommend getting from the Google Play Store. It will help you update your buds to the latest firmware as well as had a ton of useful features that will help you customize your buds.
Another cool feature which LG added and it differentiates it from all other buds is a Ultra Violet(UV) nano tech in your case. When you place your LG earbuds in the case and connect it via USB-C cable, the UV magic goes into effect and it takes about 10 minutes to disinfect your buds. I think this is a pretty useful feature especially in the times like these.
Now to the best part - the sound. I found these to be pretty good sounding earbuds, especially if you enjoy nice jazz or some soft rock. I found these earbuds do well with lows and highs, the bass is just right and won't hurt your hearing. One recommendation I would suggest is make sure to choose the right fit for your ears and LG supplies the necessary soft ear gels for all sizes.
I also found the wireless charging case to be quite good in size and it has a nice feel to it too. No need to plug in cords, just place this case on a wireless charging pad and you are set. Thanks to its fast charging feature, only 5 minutes of charge will serve you 60 min of playtime! These buds are also great for taking calls thanks to its Dual Microphones and the buds are perfect for workout too, as the buds are IPX4 Water and Sweat resistant.
All in all, these are some great earbuds that will replace my current wireless buds I have been using for a while.

I have been trying these earbuds out for a few days now and I am not only impressed with how comfortable they are (even after long periods of time) for but I am truly impressed with the UVnano charging case that kills germs on the earbuds. (Super unique!) The sound quality is good and clear and the battery life has been great as well. I did notice though that when you resume the music after pausing, there is a slight delay on the music coming back. Other than that, it is super convenient having multiple tap commands. In addition to that, of course there is an app that you can download to use with the earbuds. The app has several equalizer presets and you can also customize presets as well. The call quality on the earbuds were impressive as well. The call itself was clear and I did not experience any lag whatsoever. These are such an upgrade from my old earbuds and I have already recommended them to my friends and family. In fact, my wife wants them now!

The LG Tone earbuds have pretty decent features and high audio quality. The case and the buds are very nice designed, compact, and effortless to slip into a pocket, especially being round shape. Buds are compact and seriously lightweight, which makes them comfortable to wear and transport. The silicone tips on the buds, with three different sizes, helps keep them nice and comfy when they are lodged in your ear; this is great for prolonged usage. They don’t seem to move around that much, with very minimal shifting. A great feature of the silicone is that it is made with an antibacterial coating. While jogging outside, I don’t worry about getting the buds wet due to sweat or rain because these are water-resistant.
The connection is strong enough, with the sound coming loud and clear, no stuttering. A cool feature is that they have sensors and controls, which detects when one or both buds are pulled out of the ear and it will auto-pause whatever you are listening to, and when you insert them back on to your ear, they will resume the audio. The touchpad controls, such as pause, play, skip, and volume up/down, is straightforward to do with just a tap, two taps, or three taps outside the left/right buds.
Hooking up the LG Tone buds to a smartphone comes allows extra features; for example, when you open the case, it will start looking for a smartphone to pair, and they will get connected automatically. The app can change the setting on the buds to use it as “High-quality Audio, " customizing the touchpad setting and the equalizer setting. The equalizer setting has two customizable options and four preset options (immersive, bass boost, natural, and treble boost).
Activation of the ambient is done by pressing and holding the buds’ touchpads, which allows you to keep the buds inside your ear while still being able to hear the outside sounds. Call quality is excellent, with the caller’s voice coming through nice, clean, and crisp, and my voice gets to pick up nice and clean. The final important factor to consider on wireless devices is battery life. This LG Tone has a great battery life, with over 6 hours of usage and stored in the case, and it also has a battery to recharge the buds. When the buds are in the case, the case serves as a cleaning agent by emitting a light that kills almost all bacteria that get stuck in the silicone tips. Overall, I enjoy these wireless earbuds.

LG Tone Free Earphones with UV Light

I received my new LG True Wireless HBS-FN6 black earphones recently and was surprised how durable they looked when I opened the box. I knew they were a different type of design with lightweight materials and rubber ear tips for comfort and to easily clean in the UV case. The UV nano charging case was a great feature to promote killing bacteria due to the current focus on the Covid-19 issue. It is nice to know you have a pair of earphones to use that are pretty much free from regular bacteria.
The charging case was nice and compact which was magnetized to help guide the earphones into their correct slot for charging. I liked the sturdy feel of the case and being able to tell from the color displayed on the case how far along the charging was at any particular time.
I decided to use the earphones with various devices and paired them with my phones, laptop, tablet, and television. It was great to see how easy the pairing process was for each item. I also liked the fact that the earphones could hold a charge up to almost 6 hours per the manufacturer.
The sound that was produced in the earphones was a nice clear and crisp sound. I loved listening to various types of music through the LG earphones. I also liked trying out the ambient sound feature which you can activate by simply tapping one of your earphones. The unit will give you a verbal alert that the ambient sound is turned on or is turned off depending on your scenario.
I would highly recommend the affordable and high-quality LG earphones to my friends, family, and coworkers. This is an LG Insider story.

I’m really impressed with the LG TONE HBS-FN6 wireless ear buds. These wireless ear buds are a huge upgrade from my previous wireless headphones. I like the overall comfort and fit. I have no worries with these headphones. The sound quality is pretty good, and I can play them a high volume without disturbing others around me. The LG Tone Free app is good place to start. Here you are able to perform software updates and control touch control options.
The charging case and buds are very sleek and compact. Having USB type C and wireless charging is helpful. I have my wireless charger at my desk at work, so charging is painless. I normally listen to podcasts and music playlist at work, and the sound is pretty good. When playing music at high volumes, they do a good job of blocking out my environment.
There are a few equalizers presets to choose from, and the ambient sound mode helps me listen to people talk with the earphones in. These headphones also allow UVnano charging via the case when connected to wired charging. This allows the charging case to kill bacteria on the earphones. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the design, comfort and sound of the new LG TONE HBS-FN6 Wireless Ear Buds. I definitely recommend trying these wireless ear buds. “I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review”

AMAZING PRODUCT
I have had the LG TONE Free Wireless Earbuds for about two weeks now and they continue to impress me. I have been using them for the requisite hours of music I play throughout the day as well as phone calls, and just today, to watch a movie. Across the board, the sound is incredible, no static, no gaps, just sheer excellence. The comfort level is a 10, which I have never experienced with headphones or earbuds. Inevitably, no matter what I have spent on the item, it will begin to hurt my ears at about the 30 minute mark. Not these however. They stay where you place them and they remain comfortable. Also cool is that when you open the bacteria killing UVnano Charging Case, the earbuds seamlessly pair to your phone or tablet, register themselves, and install an app that allows you to tune and equalize your earbuds to your music-loving heart's content. Very cool, very innovative. **I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review** #LGTONEFreeInsiders

I have been using these LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 Earbuds for awhile and very impressed. Set up was easy and quick and my phone immediately connected no issues. I like the fit and forget they are even in my ears. They include extra ear gels so you can get the exact fit for your ears. I can run with these and have no issues on falling out. The sound is bright and clear with no annoying background noise. Since I wear these at work I really like the tap feature where I can stop what I'm doing to have conversation with coworker etc. This is also useful if I need to check my surroundings and my safety where ever I may be. I also downloaded the LG Tone Free app and there was a lot of customization available on the app. The Equalizer on the app is real cool as I can customize for a particular type of music I like. It also has a search feature to find your earbuds so they never go missing. The phone call clarity is clear and no noise interference. The UV Nano cleaning is a big plus to kill any bacteria so my buds are always fresh and clean for the next day. I would not hesitate to recommend these to my friends, neighbors, or a perfect stranger.

My LG HBN-FN6 Tone Free Ear Buds, are truly a delight to have, wear and use and have undoubtedly become my favorite pair and brand. The main reason behind this, is that you can perform every action you wish, such as playing music or making calls , by touching either ear bud!!! They come with Meridian Advanced Audio Technology and you receive clear voice call quality with dual microphones. If necessary, you can charge your ear buds by wireless means. They charge quickly and you receive more than ample playtime. Connecting them t my phone by bluetooth was effortless and rapid. The user friendliness regarding Google Assistant was a joy, not to mention the ability to do so much through my Tone Free App! The ability to use Siri is also included. The earbuds are water and sweat resistant. They are very convenient to use and take anywhere you go! This product is an excellent addition to the wireless ear bud market and much needed at this time. I highly recommend this product. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks for reading my review.

Ill start this off by saying i am overall very impressed with the LG Tone Free wireless earbuds. I was hesitant to get these due to some negative videos and reviews I saw pertaining to lack of bass on them. For me, these have plenty of bass. The sound is extremely crisp and clear. The clarity is fantastic. I've owned quite a few wireless earbuds and these definitely top my list.
The pairing was extremely easy for these. I opened up the charging case ( which has wireless charging and USB C ) and my phone found them almost instantly. I'm not sure if it's because I had the LG Tone app preloaded on my phone with anticipation of these headphones arriving or what, but either way I was impressed at how seemless the connectivity is. The case has a LED charging indicator to indicate different levels of a charge. It also provides UV nano to clear the earcushions of any bacteria. I don't share my earbuds but I'm sure for people that do this would be a nice benefit. Can never be too safe these days with all we are dealing with.
The touch controls are accurate, almost too accurate with its sensitivity. I do find if I'm adjusting the earbud in my ear I activate the touch controls. This is a personal issue as I've had this problem with every earbud I've owned that goes into the ear, but my left ear just doesn't hold in place as perfect as my right one does. Apart from my personal issue, the fit and comfort of these are excellent - they're so light you barley notice they're there. Included are different cushion selections to fit your ear needs.
The LG Tone app has a lot of great options. From here, you can choose different equalizer settings, powered by Meridian, with options such as Immersive mode, Bass Boost, Natural and Treble Boost modes. There are also two options for custom settings ( I do not know enough to make my own setting but for audiophile pros I'm sure this is a welcomed option ) My personal favorite modes are Immersive and Bass Boost. You can see each buds battery life here. The app also offers a Find My Earbuds mode where if they're out of the case, you can have beeping noise play to help locate either bud. When its in the case, you can see a GPS location of where it last registered its location. The app offers a lot more to the sound experience of these LG Tone's and probably helps set it apart from the competition in that area.
For phone calls, this is probably where I'll knock it down a star just a little. They're better than my previous wireless earbuds I had ( sammy ) but they don't do a great job cancelling out noise in the background for the person I'm on the phone with. They can hear me clearly and I can hear them clearly, but it definitely will pick up background noise such as a TV on in the background or music at a gym or grocery store. While this is a negative part for me, it's positive in a sense that it's better than what I've owned thus far. I think this is just a major issue with wireless earbuds in general and hopefully advancements in the tech increase the quality in this area.
In summary, I recommend these earbuds. The sound, the sleek look, the charging case and its health benefits, the great battery life and LG Tone App offers a complete package at a very aggressive reasonable price to set it apart from the competition.

The sound quality on these earbuds is great and they work well no matter if you're using one or both. The charging case is a perfect size to drop in your pocket when going for a workout and does a nice job of keeping the earbuds charged between full charges of the case. I haven't kept track, but I'd guess I use the earbuds 4-5 times between full charges for the case.
I've worked out in these headphones and only one time did one of them fall out of my ear.
I've tried talking on the phone with these and where the person on the other end was able to hear me just fine and I could hear them, I couldn't hear myself good enough since the earbuds block outside noise so effectively. For me, this makes it hard to modulate my speaking volume so I swap to other headphones when I need to talk on the phone or I have to take one of the earbuds out so I can hear clearly. But I didn't get these to talk on the phone so this is a minor issue for me.
My one complaint is that the button that pauses the music is right where I want to push when adjusting the earbuds in my ear so I end up pausing my music when I'm trying to adjust the earbuds in my ears. First world problem for sure.
A great feature is that when you take one of the earbuds out of your ear it detects that and then pauses the music. This might not seem like much but when someone walks up and needs to talk, I can pull the earbud so I can hear them and not have to press pause and then take the earbud out and then risk pressing the pause button again.
I've never had a single issue with the bluetooth connection and I've been using these for months.

Great earbuds, they're very comfy and easy to use. They come in a very small and nice charging carrying case. It can charge them whether plugged it (usb type C cable included) or wireless via any Qi wireless charger (the UV sterilizing function will only work if plugged in with the cable). They included a USB type C cable, however no wall adapter, so one has to plug the cable to any available USB port to charge.
The UV sterilizing function takes about 10 minutes and then it starts charging the earbuds. They say in about 10 minutes it can kill most bacteria in the earbuds, can't attest to that, but hey, its known UV kills germs...
The earbuds are very comfy and fit nicely in my ear, they do not fall off at all. They also include several other ear plugs, in case the default ones are not comfy for your ear canal size.
The sound is great and they have an app for iPhone and android that will let you further customize it (remap touch functions, update firmware, equalizer settings etc). By the way, there was firmware update when I first launched the app, and the earbuds MUST BE IN THE CASE for the firmware update to be successful.
I love the simple touch functions. While on a call, one tap to answer, two to end call, three to reject call. Also there are tap functions for music playback, and volume, and finally the feature that I'm loving, ambient sound monitoring!! A long press will let you hear outside sounds (IE if someone talks to you in person, you can hear them clearly!).
I highly recommend them!

Good sound, easy to connect, comfortable and stay in ears. Charging is easy and fast, and the battery has a good life before it needs to recharge. The case holds them nicely with magnets and has a UV cleaning feature when plugged in with the charging cable. It charges them on its own when not plugged in. All around good headphones. I had a crackle one time but it hasn’t recurred and I’ve had no other issues so it seems to be a one time thing
