I was pretty excited to get the new LG Studio HBS-W120 headphones. I am not sure that I would call them headphones, since they are really neck phones or earbuds, but I guess the name is not that important! These are unique in that they have a switch that allows you to change them from earbuds to a small personal speaker system that wraps around your neck. My daughter and brother both have the older sets that just have the earbuds but they both use them with the sound turned up and the earbuds out of their ears. The sound is not that great when used this way, but this set changes all that. Sound quality when played out loud is not what a really good set of headphones can produce, but then again, you don't have to have bulky over-the-ear cans that are way to warm in the summer heat! I find that the sound is acceptable for the purpose and the earbuds sound pretty decent as well. Lacking a bit of bass, but then that's pretty much to be expected for tiny things stuffed into your ears. I have a hard time with earbuds and am not a huge fan of any brand I've tried, so I have used these in the "out loud" mode almost the whole time. I took the set out of the box, charged it and then went about playing. I wanted to see how easy they were, so I intentionally left the instruction manual closed and was pleasantly surprised to find that I was able to get them paired and had sounds within a few seconds. They are easy to use and you can switch back and forth with a small slider on the side. I also like the retraction... just pull out slowly to extend the earbuds and then pull a bit and release slowly to retract. The magnets on the other models worked well, but this seems to do the job as well if not better since you can pull out only the length you want and leave the rest reeled up inside. Saves on getting caught on things and should help extend the life of the wires. I haven't had time to test the length of charge they have done well for a few hours of use at a time between charges. I have another brand of wireless headphones that tells me the battery percentage when I turn them on, but these just say high, medium and low. Overall, I'm pretty happy with them, they are a step up from the older design with some really great features and I plan to use them in situations where the others just don't work for me.

When I received these I wasn't sure what to expect. I tend to perhaps unfairly want to compare every headphone to Bose as far as sound goes so I often find myself slightly disappointed in even better than average options. Not the case with these. The sound was shockingly amazing (to my music loving but not necessarily audiophile ears) and dare I say pretty close to the Bose quality sound I enjoy. The sound is also good when used as a speaker without using the earbuds. One negative (and I wouldn't necessarily call it a negative) is the size. It will take a little time for me to get used to the bulkiness around my neck. It's not exactly heavy but it's not something you will forget you have on. There is a little concern in the longevity of the actual earbuds though. The thin string that it is attached to worries me that it may be prone to breakage. They do retract into the unit when not in use so that is a definite plus. Oddly though they only come with one extra pair of earbuds tips. I'm used to receiving at least 3 pair in varying sizes but they may have them available for purchase if you need a different size. Overall these are a great option. They pair easily with everything I tested them on, battery life is decent, and they are versatile being useful as a speaker or headphones.

LG - TONE Studio HBS-W120 works great as in-ear headphones. Only reason I took 1 star out because its surround sound feature is just a joke. Cons: - Very bulky in appearance and weight - Surround sound doesn't work as expected - Get disconnected from iOS devices often but not quite frequently Pros: + Great sound + Amazing battery life + Great companion for work outs Overall I am satisfied and would highly recommend LG - TONE Studio HBS-W120.

I have a few Bluetooth head sets I'm comparing this too. All have their different pros and cons, this headset also has it's specific uses as well as pros and cons. You'll want to ask yourself, "what you need the headset for?" These are definitely not for running and LG doesn't market these for that purpose. However, if you're lounging at home and want great sound from your BT enable laptop, TV, tablet, etc. These could very well be for you. The sound quality is great, one great feature is that this has surround sound!!! WTH?? yes you read right surround sound, great for watching movies or listening to music to give you a live or realistic feel. Another good feature is the earbuds or earphones are retractable when not in use which keeps you from damaging the wire or the earphones getting caught in something and snagging it. A feature I really like about this is you don't have to use the earphones at all the built in speakers are great for listening to movies and music without putting any earbud into your ears especially for those that feel pain after wearing earbuds for a couple of hours. Here's the cons, for hose of you that have not used this style of BT headset get ready for the weight. These are pretty light but if you're not used to having something on your shoulders it might feel weird at first. Another issue is the battery life. You can used this for about 5-6 hours before recharging so if you go on a longer plane ride make sure to have a way to charge the headset. I highly recommend these for the great quality of sound and the use without having to put anything into your ears or covering your ears which can lead to painful experience after several hours.

These LG headphones are unlike any that I’ve ever owned before. The LG TONE Studo HBS-W120 headphones are well built with a solid feel and unique design. The sound quality from the ear buds is impressive with clear vocals, great surround and decent bass for earbuds. The earbuds themselves are comfortable to wear but take some getting used to in regards to the retractable nature of the design. You have to tug on these gently or you risk breaking them, which isn’t a problem for me but might be a problem for others. You also probably want to retract the headphones all the way when wearing so that you don’t pull at the headphones when moving your head. I do feel a little strange walking around wearing these around my neck and probably will not since I don’t often walk around wearing headphones. These are more useful for me at home for gaming and listening to music around the house and in the yard. I like that I can play a game on my laptop, using these around my neck while other people are in the room watching TV and we don’t bother each other. I enjoy the external speakers and they do provide great surround quality sound however the bass is lacking and the vibrations on my shoulders really isn’t needed. Overall I think these are pretty great headphones with some pretty cool features, such as being able to pair with another set so that two people can listen to the same source, such as watching a movie together. I wouldn’t get these over a standard pair of earbuds unless you have a specific purpose for the around the neck speakers such as gaming, etc., or if you don’t already own a small portable bluetooth speaker as the price is pretty high, in my opinion.

The horseshoe shaped design feels comfortable around your neck, without feeling heavy. The built in speakers are great for light listening, in a quiet environment, but aren't ideal for walking down the street with traffic, or in a busy office space. You'll find that the sound, even when turned up all the way, is drowned out by surrounding environmental noise. However, the surround effect (DTS) is pretty neat. You'll likely feel the surround sound effect, similar to the ones you find in a TV sets built in speaker configuration. The ear buds, on the other had, are great. They feel full of bass (not overwhelming) and the sound is pretty clear. Aside from the Apple Wireless buds, these are pretty great! It's also a great feature that the ear buds retract, with a simple pull. Don't pull too hard though, as I'm sure they'll break. However, it's nice to get the fit right, so you don't have a bunch of bulky cable around your neck. You can also use the built buttons to activate Siri on an iPhone (the inner left button) and the right button inner button controlled play/pause. It has volume and skip buttons on the exterior, and work great. They didn't take a long to charge either, but I would recommend plugging them in as soon as you open them for the first time. Overall, I'm fairly impressed with them as wireless earbuds, not so much as a personal speaker. As a result, you'll probably find some better wireless ear buds, at a lower cost, that aren't as bulky. If you want a personal speaker, this would make an excellent purchase!

I wasn't sure what the utility of this wearable surround sound speaker system was when I got it, but I have enjoyed it so far. I was surprised at how easily it paired with my win7 bluetooth enabled by dongle computer. I haven't been able to get many speakers or earbuds of any type to pair with it, but this paired with no problem. So I just watched Jurassic World on my computer listening to it in 3d surround sound with these, and I really enjoyed it, more so with the speakers on rather than using the retractable earbuds. They give true surround sound effect that is crystal clear. Yes, you're not going to get rumbling, room shaking bass but you do get immersed in high quality sound. They are a great substitute if you don't have a home theater surround system or you're watching/listening where it's not available, or maybe you just want the personalized effect. I think they could be addictive in that regard- you will start liking that surround sound around your head.

    Better Than First Impression

I have to admit, my first impression of the LG - TONE Studio HBS-W120 Wireless In-Ear Headphones was not very positive. They looked odd and didn't feel especially comfortable. The sound seemed way too thin and tinny, and the haptic feedback seemed weak. But, after wearing them for a little while, you get used to how they feel, regardless of whether they look odd. You realize the sound field actually does create a nice 3D effect. Even though the quality and depth of sound isn't great, it's still superior to clip-on speakers and such. And the haptic feedback, although weak, is more than you get with other small speakers. So, as a small speaker, it's not bad. In fact, it's downright decent. But temper your expectations. Regardless of marketing hype, small speakers equal small sound. The 3D field is clearly the most impressive thing in terms of sound. The included earbuds are fine. They have substantially more bass kick, but I didn't think they were all that clear in upper octaves. I also don't like the style of earbud as much as I like buds that do a better job fitting to your ear rather than squishing into your ear canal; but that's a personal taste issue. If you want to use earbuds, there are far better options. But it's nice to be able to easily go back and forth between the earbuds and the speaker, if needed. My question is when would you really want to use HBS-W120? My answer is while I'm walking my dogs. But that's really about it. I wouldn't wear them jogging or biking, which I presume are some of the more targeted uses. But casual walking? Sure. If that's your thing, then I think these are a good buy. You don't have to block your ears or wear headphones to have some relaxing music while you stroll down the wooded trail. Just be mindful of others.

Great in many ways…but could be better

INITIAL IMPRESSION: The packaging is well-designed, and easy to open...unfortunately, it’s too easy, as you’ll find out. The “inner box” was equally well-designed, giving a suedo-impression of quality packaging. The only thing I didn’t care for was how the packaging was sealed, as someone could easily open the “seal”, remove the contents, and reseal the packaging, leaving an empty box for whoever purchased it. Most company’s seal their packaging with an adhesive that sticks to the cardboard well enough so as to tear it, indicating it has been previously opened. LG, on the other hand, used an adhesive that’s simple enough to remove & reseal, giving the impression the package is “factory-sealed”. BAD move, LG. SOUND QUALITY: Overall, the LG Tone Studio HBS-W120 is quite good, with only a few problems. Pairing them was extremely simple, as I paired them to both my Galaxy S7 Edge, and my wife’s GS7 Edge. Unfortunately…I say this in jest…she took first turn, listening to music while cutting up freshly-picked peaches in the kitchen. Having used my Jaybird Bluebuds X, she was impressed how much better the LG Tone Studio sounded. After listening via the headphones, she switched to the built-in speakers, and was still impressed…not entirely for the overall sound (which was still “very good”, just not “great”), but for the convenience that the speakers provided. She especially liked the comfort level of the Tone Studio resting gently on her shoulders. So far, so good. Later, I listened to a variety of musical styles, and was equally impressed, at least when compared to my Jaybird’s in “earphone mode”. However…the next day, I decided to give them an “interesting” (and, yes, I admit, overly-excessive) test – playing music while riding my motorcycle. The volume on my GS7 Edge was turned up to approximately 75-80%, with the Tone Studio turned up to (essentially) an equal volume level. I wasn’t expecting the sound quality to be as good at a super-high volume, but something else happened…and not a good thing…that I wasn’t expecting – the volume level was NOT equal from let to right. For some unknown reason, as volume was increased, the right speakers gradually got louder than the left speakers. I’d estimate that, up until approximately 50% volume, the left & right speakers were equal in volume, but, after that, as the volume increased, the right speaker volume increased greater than the left speakers, although not in an “increasing percentage”. In other words, the right speaker’s volume increased in a “curve”, with the percentage different increasing as volume increased. At 60% volume, the difference was barely noticeable; at 70%, it was noticeable, but not enough to disturb my listening; at 80%, the difference in left-to-right volume was so bad, I barely noticed anything from the left speakers. Again, I was listening to music while traveling 40-75mph, and it was very difficult to hear anything at the 65-76mph range, but I could still hear enough to realize I was only hearing (barely) music from the right speaker. Even after arriving at my destination, and turning off the motorcycle, the (very loud) music was, most definitely, comping primarily from the right speakers. Strongly-enough, this “volume discrepancy” was never experienced in “earphone” mode, only “speaker” mode. A couple days later, I decided to give the various “equalizer” modes a try, first while in “earphone” mode, followed by “speaker” mode. In “earphone” mode, I noticed little, if any, difference between ‘Normal’ and ‘Treble’ modes…and, when compared against ‘Bass’ mode, these first two sounded equally bad. This is NOT to say they produced bad-sounding music…only that the ‘Bass’ mode produced music sounding considerably better. Speaking of the Tone Studio’s ‘Bass’ mode, it is NOT heavy in base…it actually produces a sound quality closer to that of the music when played on other headphones without “bass enhancement”. Switching to “speaker” mode, the experience was the same, but in a different way. In “speaker” mode, it was the ‘Treble’ setting that sounded different, producing an almost “tinny” sound, leaving the ‘Normal’ and ‘Bass’ modes sounding virtually identical. Whether listening in “earphone” or “speaker” mode, your best bet is to just leave the Tone Studio’s equalizer in ‘Bass’ mode. In comparing them against my Sony MDR-XB950N1 Wireless Headphones, the Sony’s (which also include noise-cancelation) are the clear winner, in a big way. ADDITIONAL FEATURES: THE LG Tone Studio Wireless Headset has two additional features that make it stand out above other offerings. The first, as found on a few other headsets, is the ability to physically connect, via a double-ended 3.5mm audio cable, to the audio source. This not only eliminates any potential delay in audio, but also (typically) provides better audio quality. As anyone who has compared wired-to-wireless audio quality knows, “wired” is (almost) always better than “wireless” (there are a few exceptions, one of which is the previously-mentioned Sony MDR-XB950N1, and its more-expensive brother, the Sony MDR-1000X (although, at $350, these are above the price-range most are willing to spend). This feature, alone, gives the LG Tone Studio a slight advantage over other Bluetooth headsets, including some that cost slightly more. As for the second additional feature…and the one that gives it a huge advantage over other Bluetooth headsets...it is the ability to pair a second Tone Studio to the first, essentially creating a daisy-chain earphone/speaker, where two people can listen to the same sound source. Obviously, this feature wouldn’t work in combination with the first, and, as such, these “additional features” are completely independent of one another. At the same time, this is a feature that, as far as I’m aware, no one else has…giving it a HUGE plus over its competitors. A perfect example of when to use this might be late-night movie watching with your “significant other”. TV’s that include Bluetooth can (typically) only connect to a single Bluetooth headset, thus leaving one person without audio…which is no fun (ok, so it might be fun to some, but I’m fairly certain the other person involved will not only disagree, but will be (to put it mildly) extremely “upset”). Having the ability to daisy-chain a second Tone Studio to the first allows two people to watch, and listen to, a movie, while not disturbing your neighbors. FINAL VERDICT: When push comes to shove, these are both extremely good, and somewhat bad. In “earphone” mode, they are extremely good, sounding considerably better than my Jaybird Bluebuds X Bluetooth Headset. The music was crisper, cleaner, and louder. However, when compared against my Sony MDR-XB950N1 Headphones, the Sony’s fair so much better than the LG’s, that I wonder why I’d even consider using the LG’s. In “speaker” mode, this is where the Tone Studio’s both shine, and fail…they shine because they offer a feature – built-in speakers – that others don’t. You have the individual listening pleasure of a Bluetooth headset, combined with the (small) group listening pleasure of a Bluetooth speaker. Based just on this, it’s still a 50-50 toss-up as to whether I would recommend the Tone Studio Headset. But…and this is where things get really good…when adding the additional features, my “recommendation level” increases. Having the ability to connect a 3.5mm cable for better audio quality, as well as eliminating audio delay, is an advantage, as is the ability to “daisy-chain” two Tone Studios…but having both (again, accessible individually only) raises the bar, so to speak. If you want better audio quality, better bass-boost, noise cancelation, etc, there are several other wireless solutions I’d recommend before these. If you want a (far?) better Bluetooth speaker, again, I can suggest several other possibilities. However, if you can’t afford to purchase two separate items, and want the best combination of everything above, these are probably your best…probably your only…option. Again, this is NOT to say the LG Tone Studio is “bad”, as it’s anything but…these are quality wireless headphones, producing (fairly) high-quality (especially when in “earphone” mode) sound, and, as such, I’d probably recommend them. Given the additional functionality/features, that increases the likelihood that I’d recommend them. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

4.5 stars I have been reluctant about getting a wireless around-the-neck headset, but I am extremely impressed with the LG Tone Studio! I have mainly used the speakers to listen to audiobooks and it has been amazing. I have used the speakers on the headset when I am outside doing yard work or moving around my house (huge plus that I can listen on the speakers without disturbing (or being disturbed) anyone else in another room, especially if the TV is on). The sound quality is crisp and clear, and the headset, although on the bulky side and not discreet, is actually comfortable to the point where I would forget I was wearing it (were it not for the audio coming out of them). It’s such a treat to not have to wear earbuds or carry around a Bluetooth speaker as I’m trying to get things done around the house. However, the earbuds are one of the most comfortable ones I’ve ever worn. The retractable earbuds are a nice feature. They retract easily and do not stick so there is no need to pull hard on them. They are noise cancelling and the surround sound quality is outstanding, I used them to watch Netflix on my android device and was able to pick up on sounds I never noticed were in the background of my favorite show. Playing music from either the speakers or the earbuds is very enjoyable because the quality is terrific, and depending on your listening style you can switch from normal, to treble, or to bass at the click of a button. Once I memorized the controls on the headset it was very smooth jumping from one setting to the next. Taking a call in the middle of listening to something was seamless, and the quality of the call sounded incredible both through the speakers and the earbuds. It was also flawless going from the speakers to the earbuds (and vice versa) in the middle of a call. The call sounded crystal clear on both ends and any background noise was not picked up by the headset’s mic. There is no voice control, this would have been a great bonus feature, but then again I did not download the LG Tone & Talk app which has additional features for the headset and may include voice command. Pairing was simple and painless. The battery life, particularly the speaker mode (up to 6 hours), and range (33 feet) are accurate. Upon turning on the headset it lets you know the battery life remaining (high, medium, low). Charge time is quick. While on the expensive side, overall, the LG Tone Studio headset is amazing, and it excels and impresses in all aspects of sound from taking calls to music and listening to audiobooks.

I was underwhelmed by the LG - TONE Studio HBS-W120 Wireless In-Ear Headphones when I tried them out for the advertised purposes. A neck-based surround sound unit was an intriguing idea, but the reality with these is disappointing. I expected the sound to be a high-quality surround sound experience with solid bass. Instead it's a couple small speakers on each side and vibrations for the low frequencies instead of actual bass. If you switch to the in-ear buds you also get cheap sound quality. I would have given these an even lower rating if it weren't for an unexpected discovery. We have a special-needs grandson, Hunter, who has no mobility or normal communication skills and has very limited cognition. Although his family includes him in most outings and activities, his main enjoyment is watching old Disney cartoons, which bring him continuous joy. This necessitates the constant presence of an iPhone or iPad for his use. When in group settings, there's a conflict between the sound of his videos and whatever else is going on. During a recent visit, it occurred to us that the LG - TONE Studio HBS-W120 Wireless In-Ear Headphones might be an ideal solution for Hunter. So we fired them up, easily paired them to his devices, and tried them out. THEY WORK GREAT FOR HIS SPECIAL NEEDS! They bring the sound close to him and stay in place (neither in-ear, or over-the-ear headphones work for him). My son and daughter-in-law are thrilled with this and excited at the genuine enhancement this arrangement will bring to a variety of situations for Hunter and those with him. We're all so glad we discovered this application. So, though I would not recommend these for their intended use, I would recommend them to someone with special needs or a similar, special application. Thus, my recommendation below is for that scenario.

I was excited to try these out but was prepared to be underwhelmed. It turns out they're much cooler than I had anticipated! They paired easily with my LG V20 Android phone. I started up Rogue One and was blown away by the sound! The speakers are very small, but in close proximity to my ears they produce a rich sound. Dialogue is clear and I could clearly make out explosions and ships whizzing around behind me and side-to-side. Like home theater clear! Despite the phone being at arm's length dialogue sounded like it was coming from the phone, so imaging is spot-on. The audio, while rich, does suffer from weak bass, but it's understandable given the size. Though deficient in bass, the sound is definitely not tinny at all. They have a built in tactile inducer that vibrates with bass to add some punch, but I really don't feel it at all when they're on my neck. That's probably a good thing. There appears to be little to no latency; lip sync was good. The headphone portion sounds excellent. Just a light tug and you have earphones that won't disturb anyone around you. Keep it very light though. The wires attached to the phones are hair-thin and feel like they could break easily. Another gentle tug makes them retract back into the "collar" portion. I could see these being a game changer for business trips. Listen in privacy on the plane with the headphones, then take in a movie back at the hotel on your tablet with amazing surround sound. They also paired with my LG TV to provide the same experience. Great for late night listening without disturbing the family. They're a little bigger than most around the neck earbuds, but given their intent that's to be expected.

My wife's car does not have a hands-free solution for our phones, but this device is the perfect solution. I've usually put in my headphones so that I would be available hands-free while driving, but she never likes it because she's afraid that I'm less aware of my surroundings. While the headphones that are built into the device sound ok, I'm not certain that they will hold up to much abuse at all. There is even a pretty decently sized warning about this in the package, but that really doesn't concern me, as I wont be using them very often, if at all. While listening to an audiobook on the speakers, my coworker couldn't even tell I was listening to anything, although I did have it turned up only enough to make out the spoken words. This device makes the ability to take calls or listen to music without blocking out the rest of the world simple. I was able to pair this with iOS with ease, and the quality of sound is high. The bass is simply a vibration on your neck, and it sounds good, but I wouldn't tout that as a reason to buy these... the portable speaker capability is what does it for me. Battery life is above what I was expecting, it is lighter than I expected, and I will definitely be recommending this to my friends and family.

    Nice sound through the headphones

When using these with the earbuds, the sound is very good. However, everything abut these headphones seems to be compromised in some small manner. Using the Earbuds: The sound is very nice. It isn't quite as nice as Bose, but these don't cost quite as much either. The main issue that I see here, which I've had with just about any earbud style headphones, is that the buds don't really stay in my ears. I don't know if my ears are just different than everyone else's, but this always seems to happen. Using the Speakers: This is a nice thought to include, but the sound is very tinny and has almost no articulation. This mode doesn't work well for music at all (despite the "studio" moniker), works acceptably for podcasts, and is most suited for speaker-phone. Phone Calls: No issues with bluetooth connectivity. Using the earbuds is fine. On speaker, the sound only comes out of one side. I have no idea why. If you're hard of hearing on the right side, you might not hear much when using this as a speaker phone. Exercise: I can see these being good for exercise, as long as you're not jostling around too much. If you're rowing or using an elliptical, these are good. If you're running, these will bounce all over the place around your neck. In summary, I don't think these are worth quite what they cost at retail, but if you like this style of headphone, these give you a few more options in functionality than usual.

    Interesting twist on Bluetooth headphones

There are a few headphones out there with this type of design but most rest on your neck and require you to insert earbuds that are attached to the headphones into your ear and that's that. These have a bit of an interesting twist, first the earbuds are attached to a retractable wire so when not in use you don't have wires that are un wieldy that can get tangled etc which is great but the real cool thing about these headphones is you do not need to use the earbuds to listen to music, watch a movie or take a phone call. There are speakers on the outside that give you DTS personal surround sound! This is the truly differentiating feature, and one that with use I like more and more, the sound is rich and is better than the speakers on any phone or tablet. I use them to watch movies on my iPad, YouTube videos etc and I like that I don't need to insert the ear buds in my ear. Obviously if you are around people this isn't discreet so in that case you would gently pull on the ear buds and put them in your ear to listen privately. The best feature of these is the DTS speakers on the outside, the reason i gave these 4 instead of 5 stars is the wires on the ear buds are thin and feel like they might be damaged easily, time will tell with more use if they are up to the task.

Lets start with whats in the box. LG Tone Studio USB Charging cable (No ac adapter to plug in to the wall) This shouldn't be to big of a deal for most. Extra ear gels User manual and warranty card. Setup was fast and easy. The headphones go in to pairing mode when turned on. So I was up and run in no time. I enjoy speaker mode with this head set the most. Great for watching movies when connected to my Ipad pro. You do get sound you can feel. Great bluetooth range. So no need to have your phone on you all the time when jamming out at home. I do wish they came with a travel case. All in all I am very pleased with the listening experience I had with these.

This is a decent set of Bluetooth earbuds, but a mediocre personal speaker. Most of the time when I was using these, I was around people, so I was using the earbuds, which have a good sound to them. I barely used the speaker mode because I was around people, and that would be rude. When I did try the speaker mode, they have decent volume, but the sound is hollow and tinny. The Bluetooth range was very good, but most of the time I would have my phone in my pocket. Also I'm not big on wearing a speaker/headphones around my neck, it's not that comfortable to me, and I feel it makes me look funny.

Received my LG Tone Studio headphone to test and review for a couple days. Connecting them to my mobile devices was simple and easy as usual. Sounds quality was better than I expected and loud. I've recently tried other headphones with limited and/or muffled volume. However, these were crisp and clear as far as sound. Charging took about an hour or so, nothing too long. The speakers (when payed as a speakerphone) were pretty loud as well. I like the fact that they can be used to watch TV without disturbing others trying to sleep or study. These would be perfect for going on a jog. Call quality was also impressive. My callers were able to hear me clearly as I did them. The only con I really have is I wish they horseshoe design was a tad bigger. It felt snug around my neck, which is fine, but kinda made it difficult to switch the buttons on the inside. All in all I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking to purchase them.

    Solid Surround Alternative.

Having been used to true dedicated surround speaker setups I have always been skeptical about headsets or wearable technology that state they will replicate surround sound. Unlike headsets that have 2 channels that simulate virtual surround, this LG Tone Studio headphone set contains built in 4 separate well placed speakers. LG Tone Studio has a sleek metallic finish with a simple to use button layout. A pinhole microphone allows for phone call chatting or Siri usage. The 4 speakers means sound is closer to true surround rather than virtual simulation. Music and movies sounded very good with 3D positioning being more accurate than any wireless or wired headset I have ever used. Bass is noticeable and surprisingly strong coming from the built in speakers. Audio has been tuned by DTS making for a cinema like fidelity which I definitely felt. Earphones are built in to listen on the go and sound good. The LG Tone is comfortable to wear, sounds surprisingly good for a wearable surround system alternative or replacement plus it doubles as a good neckband headset for use on the go with the built in earphones. Very good value for the money.

So these are fun. You can wear them in two different ways. Either around your neck as a loudspeaker (which sounds surprisingly good). Or with the earbuds in your ears. They are your pretty typical wireless rechargeable earbuds. What sets them apart is the ability to wear them around your next as a set of loudspeakers. It's surprisingly loud. I could see a lot of value here for listening to something like a podcast or an audiobook when you really aren't in the mood for wearing earbuds in your ears. That being said, the earbuds are quite formidable. Because the main unit just sort of rests around your neck and shoulders it tends to reduce the overall weighty feeling you might get from a typical pair of wireless earbuds. Having the retractable cords is really quite nice. But above all the sound quality on the earbuds is really quite good. It was unexpected to get such a bass heavy, but relatively clean sound out of a pair of LG earbuds. I would recommend these to anyone in the market for a device of this type.
